Sonic and Merna were swimming for their lives with the feral Merhog from Sonic's story hot in pursuit. Sonic and Merna swam as fast as their tails could allow them to swim, and eventually, the Merhog couple arrived at the sunken ship graveyard before quickly swimming into one of the sunken ships to hide from the feral Merhog.
Sonic and Merna were trying to get some water into their lungs after such a speedy swim, their tails moving about softly. "Good heavens, that was scary..." Merna whispered so that the feral Merhog wouldn't hear her voice.
"Tell me about it. This is not how I saw our Halloween night going..." Sonic whispered too.
"Now what are we gonna do about this feral Merhog, Sonic? We can't let it roam the ocean freely like this." Merna asked her cobalt blue mate.
"We need to find its weakness. Every villain in a scary story has to have a weakness. An Achilles' heel, if you will." Sonic replied to her.
Merna nodded at that. "Alright. But how do we find its weakness without getting badly injured?" She asked Sonic again.
Sonic thought about it. "I think I got a plan. I hope it'll work..." The cobalt blue Merhog muttered.
The scene then cut to the feral Merhog searching the sunken ship graveyard for Sonic and Merna's whereabouts, letting out a low growl as it did. Soon, it spotted two silhouettes in the distance, with the silhouettes appearing to look like Sonic and Merna. The feral Merhog snarled and swam over to the two Merhogs and proceeded to jump them and started to attack them. When the feral Merhog was finished attacking Sonic and Merna, it looked at the two Merhogs, only to find that they were decoys meant to fool the feral Merhog. It angrily snarled in frustration at the realization that it had been fooled.
"Hey, Dr. Claw." A male voice sounded behind the feral Merhog as it turned to the source of the voice, which turned out to be Sonic. "Happy Halloween." Sonic smirked before proceeding to deck the feral Merhog in the face, knocking it unconscious.
Merna then swam over, sighing in relief. "Alright, it's out...for now." The orange Merhog spoke.
Sonic nodded in agreement. "Yep. We should use this time to find its weakness. Come on, we'll bring it to that grotto we sometimes go to when we need alone time." He suggested as him and Merna picked up the feral Merhog and began to carry it towards their grotto.
Once at the grotto, Sonic and Merna had laid the feral Merhog down on a flat stone plateau as they tried to figure out what the feral Merhog's weakness could be. "You reckon it could be weak to silver? This feral Merhog reminds me a bit of the werewolf curse of being weak to silver." Merna told Sonic.
"Possibly..." Sonic muttered as he rubbed his chin with his right hand. "Do we have anything made of silver in this grotto?" He asked Merna.
"Well, I have a silver rapier in this grotto, so we could possibly use that to take it out." Merna nodded as she began to look for the silver rapier.
"Look for it quickly, Merns. You never know when this thing might wake up." Sonic warned his orange Merhog mate before he heard snarling and looked down at the feral Merhog with widened eyes. It had woken up. It looked at Sonic and snarled before jumping him, pinning his hands to the ground with its own clawed hands.
"Ah...fresh...meat..." The feral Merhog spoke in a raspy deep voice as it licked its lips. Sonic grimaced as he looked around to see if Merna had found the silver rapier yet, but Merna was nowhere to be seen. Sonic then shrugged as if to say: "Well, I'm screwed."
"Keep your hands off my little Merhog, you creep!" A female voice called out before a silver rapier was stabbed through the feral Merhog's back, coming out of its chest. Merna was shown holding the silver rapier in her right hand, and the feral Merhog dropped onto the ground after Merna removed the rapier from its body. The feral Merhog let out an agonized groan before exploding into a dark purple cloud.
Sonic took a moment to catch his breath before sitting up right and looking at Merna. "Thanks, Merna...You really saved my butt..." The cobalt blue Merhog said with a relieved smile on his face.
Merna smiled back as she helped Sonic up. "Anytime, baby. I wouldn't let that creep lay a finger on you." She replied before stuffing the silver rapier away again and hugging Sonic.
Sonic smiled once more and kissed Merna on the lips. "Well, let's head back to Mertopia, shall we? Don't wanna miss the Halloween dance, you know?" He said.
Merna smiled and nodded as she held Sonic's hand. "Let's get going." She replied again before the two Merhogs swam back to Mertopia
Sonic and Merna made it back to Mertopia just in time for the Halloween dance and began to dance throughout the night. The ocean was saved from the terror of the feral Merhog, who wouldn't terrorize the Merbians living in the ocean anymore. And that wraps up this short Halloween story.
