The Redemption Dungeon was quiet with the exception of breathless counting echoing through the dingy halls.
"Eighteen… nineteen… twenty…"
The camera panned further down the long hall of cells and reached one on the very end. The door was open, giving the occupant the ability to leave when they please, but it was clear they were occupied with something else.
Erza laid on the ground of her cell, doing crunches and counting with each one she did.
"Twenty-nine… thirty… thirty-one.."
She seemed determined, and her focus stayed on her exercise. She was in the zone.
Confessional Erza
"Ugh, I still can't believe I was eliminated first. It's complete bs, especially since that little runt March and that fat geek managed to get the better of me." The blonde crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at the confessional camera. "But apparently I have a chance to get back in the game somehow. Chef never gave much info, but I guess I need to win out over Kev. I need to be on my A-game if I want to succeed in getting my rightful spot back into the game."
End Confessional
Over in the cell across from Erza, Kev was laying in his bed, still trying to fully process his early elimination.
Hearing Erza's counting from across the hall made him groan and turn towards the wall.
Confessional Kev
"God, being the first person voted off sucks mate. I mean, it's pretty much like everyone tellin ya that they don't like ye." The Irishman frowned. "Not gonna lie, it hurts a wee bit. Especially when I was just tryna have some fun." His frown turns into a scowl and he scoffs. "Bunch of assholes that bunch. They better hope I don't get back in the game, 'cause I'll be givin them hell."
End Confessional
The scene flashed to a bit later in the day. In the dungeon, there was a small cafeteria area that could double as a common area. There were a total of four tables with five seats each, and an area for Chef to serve food to the contestants that found themselves here.
Kev was currently sitting at one of the tables with a flask in hand. He took a hit of it just as Erza walked up to him. "Is that alcohol?"
"Yep." Kev replied.
"Are you even supposed to have that?"
The Irishman just shrugged. "I don't see why not. We're in Quebec, and the legal drinking age is 18. We're over 18."
Erza wasn't too convinced, but she let it go.
Kev held out the flask for Erza. "Care fer a swig?"
Erza looked at the flask hesitantly. After a couple moments of pondering, she took it. "Thanks." The blonde took a sip from it, but immediately her face scrunched up in disgust and she let out a cough.
The Irishman bursted out laughing. "Ah someone doesn't seem to be a fan."
"That was gross." Erza muttered, wiping her mouth. Noticing Kev laughing, she scowled and lightly slapped him on the arm. "Oh shut it!"
Kev just laughed harder, making Erza pout, a faint blush on her face. Kev's laughter went on for a couple moments before dying down.
"So, how were you eliminated?" Erza asked. "You never really said anything."
Kev's demeanor changed. He became a mix of angry and upset. "They just didn't like me."
"What, did they tell you that?"
"Some did." Kev responded. "But they didn't even really need to. I mean the fuckers voted me out first."
Erza raised an eyebrow. "I mean it could've been a strategic move. You seem to be physically strong. I know I'd probably want to get you out pretty soon."
Kev sent a glare her way. "Not helping."
He was met with an eye roll. "I was just being honest. Sheesh."
"Yeah, well it still sucks to know you were the first voted out." The ginger said.
"Try being the first eliminated." Erza shot back.
"That was an auto-elimination." Kev told her. "You got unlucky. With me, I was basically told that I'm annoying and unlikable. Shit stings in a whole different way."
"Again, you don't know if it was just a strategic mo-"
"It was the second challenge." Kev snapped, cutting her off. "We're still getting to know each other and building trust. We don't have strong loyalty yet, so we're forced to vote based on personal business and who we like the least. They liked me the least, hence why I was voted out."
The room became filled with an awkward silence. Kev just sighed and took another swing from his flask. "Sorry fer snappin, I'm still kinda reeling from the elimination."
"I understand." Erza replied. "But I think we should focus that anger on giving those losers hell."
"Huh?" Kev raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Well someone is going to be going back into that competition." Erza explained. "And if it's one of us, then I say we should give those assholes hell. I myself have a couple bones to pick."
Kev looked at Erza for a couple moments, taking in her expression. He then let out a hearty laugh. "You got yerself a deal, girlie." He held out his hand to shake.
Erza looked at it for a moment before smirking and shaking it.
Their slight bonding moment was ended when Chef Hatchet's voice boomed from the entrance of the cafeteria. "Enough sitting around! It's time for you two to fight it out to see who has another chance to try and battle their way back into the competition."
Erza and Kev glanced at each other, unsure of what was to come.
Confessional Erza
"That was an unexpected moment." Erza noted in the confessional. "I will say, one good thing that comes out of being down here is that I don't have to put on my dumb girl act. I can be real." She glanced to the side. "I was sincere about what I said to Kev. Part of me almost feels bad about trying to beat him after having that coming to terms with each other, but I will get back into the competition. That I will make sure of."
End Confessional
Confessional Kev
"I really needed that talk with Erza." Kev told the confessional camera. "She really helped light a fire under my ass. I'm gonna be the one to get back into the competition. And when I do, I'm gonna have my game face on. I came here to have fun, but that didn't get me very far. They opened up a whole new side to Kev O'Shea."
End Confessional
The scene flashed, to a new room. This one was large with a large pool of water on one side of the room with two row boats on the edge of it, and cannons hanging slightly above on a platform. Closer to the other side of the room was a dirt field with two large barrels next to each other, and a small shack on one side, away from the water.
Chef stood in front of the shack along with Erza and Kev. The two eliminated contestants were facing Chef, waiting to hear more about what was going to happen.
"So, are we going to finally get a full explanation on how this stupid dungeon works?" Erza asked, putting her hands on her hips. "All we know is that we'll be competing to get back into the competition."
"I was gonna get to that girlie." Chef snapped. "Why don't you shut up and listen."
Erza just rolled her eyes.
"As blondie here said, you guys will be competing to get back into the competition." Chef said. "You will compete in a challenge against each other. The winner will move on and battle it out with the next person who is eliminated, whoever wins that battle will then go one to battle the next person eliminated and so on and so forth. There will be a total of five battles here in the redemption dungeon. Whoever wins that fifth and final challenge gets to return back into the competition."
"So, if we lose the challenge, we're out of the running for good?" Kev asked.
"Exactly." Chef responded. "One of you could go on some winning streak, but if you end up losing that last challenge, you'll be out of luck."
"Damn…" Kev muttered. He and Erza glanced at each other knowing that one of them was going to have to destroy the other's chance at moving forward.
"Now onto this first challenge." Chef said. "I like to call this one the Pirate's Blood challenge. You two will start off by rolling a barrel across the field to the tap that's on the other side. Once there, you must fill up the tap with ale. When the barrel is filled, you'll roll it back here for our intern Maelle to check." The burly man motioned to a black haired girl standing behind the counter of the shack.
She had an elegant air to her, and was dressed up in maid's attire. Her maid uniform consists of a long black apron dress in a pinafore style with four silver buttons along the middle of the torso of her dress and a purple rose emblem on the right side of the skirt. Underneath, Maelle wears a purple button-down shirt with long, frilly sleeves, black lace that pops out from the bottom of the skirt, and a black tie. On her head, Maelle wears a black headdress with black lace and a purple rose attached to it. She has stockings, black gloves, and purple mary-janes.
Maelle gave a small, polite bow to Erza and Kev before Chef moved on.
"When Maelle gives you the go ahead, you will sprint back across the field to the edge of the water where you will each find a row boat." Chef explained. "You will row across the body of water to the small patch of land. Y'all better be careful though, cause you'll be shot at with cannonballs from Virgil and Courage."
The camera panned over to two interns standing on an elevated platform with two canons on it.
Virgil definitely looked like he didn't want to be there. His face held a scowl, and his arms were crossed. He had black hair and wore a black hoodie with a red shirt underneath, grey jeans, and socks with sandals.
Courage's mood seemed to be the total opposite of Virgil's. They were simply vibrating from excitement… at least I think it's excitement. They looked very unhealthy with an extremely thin body and pale skin. Courage had black hair that is shaved on the right side, and it goes down to their lower back with their hair covering their left eye. They wore an off the shoulder, oversized hot pink and dark purple striped sweater, a fishnet stocking on their right leg, and dark grey knee-high socks.
"Once you reach the small patch of land, you're gonna come into contact with another intern of ours: Chad."
The camera panned over to said intern. Just viewing him, you could just view the charisma that poured out of this man. I, myself, am getting a little flustered just writing about him. Chad was the Chadiest Chad to ever Chad with espresso colored skin, black hair cut into a very neat buzz cuz, and a very nice and muscular body. He wore a yellow polo shirt, navy blue slacks, and red chelsea boots.
Chad politely waved over to the two.
"You'll have to overtake him and snag a bag of gold that Chad is protecting." Chef explained. "Then you must row your boat back across the water, and bring the bag of gold back here to me. Am I clear maggots?"
Erza and Kev hesitated answering for a split moment, but it was a split moment too long for Chef. "I said: AM I CLEAR MAGGOTS!?"
"Yes Master Chef!" The two replied at the same time.
"Good, cause your challenge starts now!" Chef said before shooting a blank gun in the air.
Kev and Erza were caught off guard by starting so quickly, but they quickly came to their senses and ran to their barrels.
The two started to push their barrels across the field, but it was clear Kev was having an easier time.
Erza was starting to lag behind slightly, having less strength than Kev, but with her being a faster runner, she was able to keep a steady pace.
Pretty soon, Kev made it to the tap on the other side of the field. He turned it on, but before he started filling up his barrel, Kev took a sip of the ale. The Irishman held his arms up and cheered with vigor. "Woo! That's what I'm talking about!"
Erza noticed this, and an amused smirk crept onto her face. She reached the tap as well and turned it on.
The two both started to pour their ale into their barrel at the same time, so currently, the pace was neck and neck.
"You just can't help yourself, can you?" Erza asked her competitor.
"Nope, I see ale, I gotta drink it." Kev joked.
The blonde rolled her eyes, still amused at Kev's antics.
The two went quiet, waiting for their barrels to fill up.
"Damn, this takes forever." Kev commented.
"Tell me about it." Erza complained.
The scene flashed, and Erza and Kev were still waiting on their barrels to fill up. They were looking like they were becoming antsy.
"Come on…" Kev muttered.
Finally, their barrels were filled up. The two gave a small cheer, and turned their taps off.
"Time to go." Erza commented. She tried pushing on her barrel, but she realized just how heavy it had become with all the ale in it.
"Damnit, why is this so heavy?" Erza complained. While it was clear that she was pushing as hard as she could, Erza wasn't able to go very fast.
Kev on the other hand was having an easier time. While he seemed to be exerting a lot of strength, He was able to push his own barrel at a quicker pace than Erza.
The blonde noticed this. She grit her teeth, and started to push even harder.
Confessional Erza
"It's clear this challenge favors those with more physical strength." She said, sitting in the confessional. "Kev is at a huge advantage since he's such a tank. I'm not going to just throw in the towel though. I want to get back into that competition, and I need to go through Kev to do it."
End Confessional
The two were making their way back across the field, but they were having a hard time. Erza more than Kev.
"Ye holdin up there Erza?" Kev called back. He didn't receive a reply, so so looked back at his competitor and saw Erza pushing through, and managing to pick up some speed. Though, she still wasn't going as fast as Kev.
The Irishman put his focus back onto his barrel, and tried pushing even harder to go slightly faster.
Confessional Kev
"Erza is showing she has a whole lotta determination to win this challenge. That is scary, and could help her edge out in the end." The Irishman said, rubbing the back of his head. "But what she brings in determination, I bring heart! And I'm not going down without a fight either."
End Confessional
It took a while, but Kev finally managed to push his barrel back to the small shack with Maelle.
"Here… ya go." He rested his hands on his knees and tried to catch his breath.
Maelle came out from the shack, and inspected the barrel. She knocked on the top of it, listening to the sound it made.
"Hm, you did quite good." Maelle said. "You may advance."
Kev pumped his fist. "Alright!"
Maelle then picked up the barrel and moved it closer to the shack, making Kev stare at her in disbelief. "How the hell did you pick that up so easily?"
"I do not believe that should be any of your concern right now." The maid replied. "You are in the middle of a challenge after all."
"Ah shit, yer right." Kev face-palmed. "Later!" The Irishman then took off back across the field towards the water.
He passed Erza, who gasped seeing Kev already on the second part of the challenge. "I'm not losing first again!" She dug her feet in, and started to push harder.
Finally, the cunning blonde made her way over to Maelle. As soon as she was close enough, Erza fell to her knees and gasped for breath.
Once again, Maelle checked out the barrel to make sure it was filled to her satisfaction.
"Hm… Yeah, you may proceed as well." The maid told Erza.
She just nodded, got up, and started running back across the field, trying to catch up with Kev.
The scene flashed to Kev arriving at the two small row boats. He started to push one of them into the water and jumped in.
"Alright, I'm in the lead!" He exclaimed. Kev started rowing his boat across the water with relative ease. "Just need to keep it."
All of a sudden, a cannonball splashed into the water next to him, making Kev's boat rock.
"Whoa!"
The camera panned over to Courage and Virgil on top of their platform. Courage was laughing maniacally, having just shot the cannonball at Kev. "Nyahahaha! Mistew Obwama is gunna be sew pwoud UwU."
Virgil just rolled his eyes. "Yeah… whatever." He wasn't even next to his canon, choosing to not do his job.
"Pew pew!" Courage exclaimed, shooting their canon two more times.
The cannonballs were launched towards Kev who just managed to miss them.
"Holy shet mate." Kev muttered. "They're a fuckin maniac."
Over with Erza, the blonde had just come up to her boat. She pushed it in the water as quickly as she could. Then she jumped in and started paddling.
"I'm not too far behind, I can still catch up." Erza said to herself.
Courage saw Erza in the water now, and jumped up and down pointing onwards the blonde. "Shoot hew Vewgin!"
Virgil scowled being called that. "No way. If Chef sees me slacking, he'll fire me as an intern for sure."
Courage gave a blank smile for a couple moments before replying. "Okay, have fwun wif that!" The abomination told him, returning their gaze back to the cannon.
Back with Kev, it seemed Courage was continuing to focus on him with the cannonballs.
"Damnit bruh! Let me live my life!" Kev yelled. He was almost to the island, but the cannonballs rocking the water near him were giving him some trouble.
This gave Erza the opportunity to start catching up a bit. She smirked to herself. "This is good. I'm closer to making a comeback."
Kev was almost to the island. He was struggling, but one cannonball managed to hit the water behind his boat, and push him to shore.
"Hell yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about!" Kev cheered. He hopped out of his boat and looked around. "Alright, I need to find that Chad guy."
"Yoo hoo! Over here friend Kev!"
The Irishman looked over to the source of the voice and saw Chad waving at him.
"I am over here!"
"Oh, nice!" Kev smirked. He ran over to where Chad was, and gave a nod to the Chadian man. "Sup dude."
"Hello friend Kev, this here is the next part of your challenge." Chad told him.
"Right, I need to get the bag of gold from ye."
Chad put a finger up. "Yes, but you must battle me for it."
"Alright, let's go then bud." The ginger got into a readied stance, and Chad just smiled.
"I am happy to see you so enthusiastic! Good luck friend!"
The scene flashed to Erza finally making it to shore. The blonde groaned. "Ugh, finally. Now I just need to-"
She was cut off by some screaming. Erza looked where it was coming from, and saw Kev flying past her into the water. "What the hell?"
She looked at Kev, then back over to where Chad was. "Oh great…"
Erza hopped out of her boat and ran over to where the intern was. "Uh, hi?"
"Hello friend! Are you here to challenge me too?" Chad asked innocently.
"I just really want the bag of gold." Erza responded. "Can I just take it and go."
The Chadian shook his head. "My apologies, but I can't give you the gold without a battle. That's what friend Chef said."
"Yeah, but that's totally not fair though." Erza whined, putting on her innocent act. "I mean you're such a big strong guy! You'd totally win."
"Hm… Chad is pretty strong." Chad thought to himself.
"Exactly, and it would be so ungentlemanly for you to beat up a girl, wouldn't it?" The blonde said, giving him a pleading look.
Chad gasped. "I wouldn't want to do something ungentlemanly! It would look bad on my country."
"Exactly." Erza told him. "So, wouldn't you mind helping me out, and giving me the bag of gold?"
Chad thought for a moment. "Hm… you do make a good point friend Erza… Okay, I'll give you a bag of gold. Here you go!" Chad picked up one of the bags and handed it to Erza. It had a decent amount of weight to it, but Erza was still able to run with it with ease.
"Thank you Chad!" Erza said, running off.
"Your welcome friend Erza!" Chad called out.
The cunning blonde dashed back to her boat and hopped in. Just then, Kev ran over to her. "How the hell did you get yer bag so fast?"
"A girl has her ways." Erza replied, sending him a wink. "Good luck." With that, she started to row her boat away.
Kev stood there, slightly dumbfounded for a moment. He then shook his head. "Get it together Kev!"
Confessional Kev
"I have to admit, Erza is good. But this isn't over till it's over!"
End Confessional
Kev ran over back to Chad, who gave him a polite wave. "Hello friend Kev, back again for another battle?"
"Eh, not quite buddy." Kev said. "How did Erza get her bag from ye?"
"Oh, she reminded me that it would be ungentlemanly if I were to beat up a girl. And it would be bad for my country of Chad if I was seen doing something like that." Chad responded.
"Ah, I get it…" Kev said. The Irishman thought for a couple moments before getting an idea. "But you know what else would look really bad on ya mate?"
Chad tilted his head in confusion. "What would that be?"
"If you still made me fight for the bag when Erza didn't have to." Kev told him. "Because that wouldn't be fair at all, and people look down upon people playing unfairly."
Chad gasped. "I wouldn't want to do something unfairly! It would look bad on my country!"
"Exactly." Kev told him. "You mind given me the bag of gold then bud? That way it's fair."
"Yes, yes!" Chad exclaimed, handing Kev the other bag of gold. "Thank you friend Kev for making me realize my potential mistake."
Kev smiled. "No prob bud. Thanks fer the gold. Later." With that, Kev took off towards his boat, leaving Chad alone.
"Friend Erza and friend Kev are so nice looking out for me and my country." Chad said. "I must learn more from their kindness."
The scene flashed over to Erza in her boat. She was making good progress when a cannonball, courtesy of Courage, hit the water next to her. Her boat started rocking pretty heavily.
"Whoa!" the blonde gasped.
"Nyahahahaha!" Courage laughed. "I awmost hit hew! I awmost hit hew! :3"
"Will you shut up!" Virgil snapped. "And you're supposed to actually hit her you knob."
"Hue hue hue!" Courage giggled, shooting more cannonballs Erza's way. Each one missed though.
"Ugh, let me show you how to do it" Virgil got up, and went to the cannon. "You actually have to aim at them, idiot."
He took aim at Erza's boat, and shot the cannon. The cannonball flew towards the blonde and made direct impact with her boat.
"Shit!" Erza cursed.
Virgil crossed his arms and glared at Courage. "That's how you do it you freak!"
"SOLDIER!" Chef's booming voice made Virgil jump. Courage just gave a derpy, empty look at Chef.
"Mistor Obwama!" Courage cheered.
Chef pointed to Virgil. "You! You're doing a great job soldier. Nice aim."
"W-what? No you weren't supposed to-"
"If you keep up the good work, I might even need to talk to Chris about a promotion for you." Chef told him.
"But I wasn't-"
"And YOU!" Chef glared Courage's way. "You need to do your job better! If not, you'll be fired. Am I clear maggot!?"
Courage slapped their forehead in their own way of giving a salute. "Aye aye Mistor Obwama."
Chef just shook his head. "I'm heading back to the finish line. Just wanted to check up on y'all. Once again, nice job soldier." He told Virgil before heading back to the finish line.
Virgil stood, completely stunned for a couple moments before shouting "Damnit!"
The scene flashed back to Erza, whose boat was now sinking. "Crap, crap, crap!"
Confessional Erza
"Are you kidding!? I finally had the lead and how there's a hole in my boat! Ugh, I hate this stupid challenge."
End Confessional
The blonde looked helplessly at the water that was leaking into her boat. "Ugh, screw this. I just need to swim for it." She told herself. Erza grabbed her bag of gold, and started to swim towards the shore.
Even though the bag wasn't too heavy, having to hold it while swimming was really slowing the blonde down. Nevertheless, she was making do and kept swimming.
Back with Kev, the Irishman was back in his boat rowing to the other side of the water. He was moving at a much faster pace than Erza.
"You still got a chance Kev." He told himself.
Once again, he was assaulted with cannonballs coming from Courage. Luckily for him though, they continued to miss his boat and splashed into the water.
"Goddamnit, I'm glad they ain't hittin my boat, but they're makin these waves really rocky." Kev commented, trying to settle his rocking boat down.
Just then, Courage managed to hit a cannonball right behind Kev, which gave the Irishman a boost forward. "Well shite, I ain't gonna complain about that."
He continues to row his boat, getting closer to the shore where Erza herself finally reached.
As soon as she got back onto land, Erza dropped to her knees and panted heavily trying to catch her breath.
"Ugh... " She groaned. She sat there, getting her breath to get back to a steady pace when Kev rowed up on his boat.
"Sup!" Kev greeted jumping out of his boat. He gave Erza a playfully smirk before running off. "I'll meet ya when I win."
"No! I'm not losing!" Erza exclaimed, getting up and dashing after Kev.
The two were both moving quickly, but Erza had a slight edge in the speed department.
This didn't go unnoticed by Kev who had put more focus into running. He was having fun, and he respected Erza, but he wasn't wanting to lose either.
The camera went into a split screen of the two making a full on sprint to the shack with Chef and Maelle. They both were full of determination, and were adamant on not being the first one to lose in the Redemption Dungeon.
Then the two both held an arm out, reaching for the finish line.
But only one of them made it first. And that person was…

"Yes!" The blonde exclaimed, letting the bag of gold drop and raising her arms in the air. "I did it!"
"Ah, shite." Kev grumbled. "So damn close."
"Well, y'all already know, but blondie is the one who will move on in the dungeon and will face off against the next person eliminated." Chef told them. "Loudmouth, you're done son."
Kev sighed, but still managed to give a smile. "It is what it is." That's when he noticed a hand sticking out to him. He looked up and saw Erza with a genuine smile on her face holding out her hand for Kev to shake.
"You did great. I would apologize for winning, but… I'm kinda not."
Kev looked at her for a couple moments before bursting out in laughter, and putting his arms around Erza's shoulders, bringing her in for a half-hug.
The blonde was caught off guard by this.
"Ya did good." Kev told her. "Congrats bud."
Erza laughed lightly. "Thanks."
Chef just rolled his eyes and shook his head before turning to the camera. "So blondie beat loudmouth. See what happens on Total Drama Towering Fortress next time, yadda, yadda. Maelle, make sure you and the others clean up in here!"
"Understood." Maelle responded, giving Chef a short bow.
"Ugh, I don't get paid enough for this." Chef muttered, walking off screen as the scene faded to black.
The scene faded back in to Courage and Virgil on the platform. Virgil was getting even more annoyed with Courage.
"Uh-huh, then Mistor Obwama just weft my bwothew there to die. Isn't that fun?" Courage asked.
Virgil just growled lowly. "I don't care!"
Courage just giggled. "Viwgin, yew gettin vewy angwy! Tee hee."
"Yes, because you're annoying, and I don't want to be here." Virgil crossed his arms.
Courage didn't let up, poking him in the side and giggling. "Tee hee, yew funny when yew angwy UwU."
"Will you stop!" Virgil then pushed Courage off the platform into the water. "God, what does a guy gotta do to get fired around here?" With that, Virgil walked off, leaving Courage in the water.
Sadly for the ball of chaos, they didn't know how to swim.
"H-hewwo is anybody thewe?"
No one else was in the room with Courage it seemed. They got no response in return.
"H-hewwo pwease somebody hewp me H-ewwo!"
Again, nothing.
"Nononono hewwo! Hewwo! Hewp me."
But then, a voice!
"God wwest youw soul."
"Hewwo! Siw why awe you doing this to me Hewwo! Hewp me pwease!"
Barrack Obama himself peered his head over the platform.
"M-mr obama is that you Hewwo! Pwease hewp me i seem to be in a wittle bit of twubble mr obama, hewwo! H-hewwo?"
Obama didn't move, just continuing to stare at Courage.
"Pwease Mr Obama Pwease save me i downt wanna die!"
"M-mr obama pwease im drowning H-hewwo im scawed."
Obama still did nothing, just staring into Courage's soul.
"Ill do anything fow you mr obama pwease hewp!"
Now this peaked the former president's interest. "Anything?"
"Anything for you mr obama :3."
Obama's eyes turned lazer red, and he had a demonic tone to his voice. "Then perish."
"D:"
Courage was then left there to drown, screaming out for help.
That is until Chef walked over to them in the very shallow water.
"What the hell are you doin?" Chef asked.
Courage gasped. "Mistor Obwama, you weally dew cawe!" They jumped up and glomped Chef Hatchet, who just scowled.
"I hate my job…"
Reasoning: So, sadly Kev isn't going to be returning. I will say that writing this chapter, I did have thoughts about making him the one who clears redemption dungeon, but I decided against it. I didn't want to make Erza lose first twice now XD. But yeah, Kev was a fun character to write, but outside with potential romance with either Tess or Beek, I didn't really have much to do with him plot wise. He'll still show up in the RD chapters though, so this isn't the last we're gonna be seeing of him.
16th: Kev
17th: Erza
Redemption Dungeon: Erza
Whew, and here we have our first redemption dungeon chapter! So yeah, the way this is going to work is that after every episode, the person who is eliminated will be battling against whoever is still in the redemption dungeon for a chance to proceed. I plan to have about 5 challenges in the RD before someone returns. I think that's a good number as I don't want the person to return too late into the competition. Since it aired, I'll actually tell y'all that the Redemption Dungeon was actually inspired by the Rudemption Lipsyncs in RPDR All Stars 6. I read a lot of RPDR spoilers, and I knew about it for a while before it aired. But it inspired me to do this. Also, Silky was robbed.
Anyway, we meet our interns! Maelle, Courage, Chad, and Virgil. Maelle and Courage are mine, while Chad belongs to Mr. Ruff and Virgil belongs to BadLuckAE. I honestly wasn't expecting to need interns, but I realized during this chapter I may need them for some of the challenges such as this one. So here we go. As far as I know, they won't play a big role at all, but who knows? Maybe one or more will get a bigger purpose. Time will tell for that. But yeah, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It's not as long as a normal chapter since it's not really needed, and there's only so much you can fit in a chapter like this. It's kinda funny, this was about the average length of a Total SYOC Island chapter. I've definitely stepped up my word count game, that much is for sure.
Now to the reviews…
LaViolaViolaRosa: Thanks! And we'll just have to wait and see what Brittany will have to offer.
Thunderstrike16: Yeah, there are villains everywhere you look. Even characters that may not seem like it are potential villains. I think it actually helps with giving interesting gameplay. I hope you enjoyed the dungeon know that you've seen what it is in action.
TempoKeep: Yeah, I honestly didn't expect to be hitting that many word a chapter. I actually surprised myself with that. Sharron is really an interesting character, and I'm glad I'm being able to take a somewhat new route with her.
Mystique Monroe: Funny that you should mention RPDR All Stars since that inspired the Redemption Dungeon XD. As for Kit voting for Felix, that will be explained.
Mr. Ruff: Dude, I really appreciate the praise! I'm really trying to make this the best that I can with the interactions, while also trying to do things I'm not as good with like action. Once again, I really love the analysis of all the characters you're giving. The ones that really stood out to me in yours were Angel and June. I can't say much about what will happen with Angel, but with June I have to say that I'm having a lot of fun makeup zany ways for her to do challenges. I try not to get too cartoonish with things, but sometimes you need that for a little added spice. Oh, and I definitely plan on making Jeremy say the line in each episode he is in. Who knows if that will be a whole season's worth though…
Alexneushoorn: Thanks again for the review! You got that right about summer. I swear it continues to be the busiest season each year for me. Caleb is truly such a fun character to write. Honestly, I hope every SYOC author gets the pleasure of writing him XD. And yeah, with so many challenges out there, it really is hard to come up with new and fresh ideas. I'm not straying away from taking inspiration from past challenges, but I still really want to try and be original when I can. Also, i'm really glad you enjoyed the second part of the challenge!
Jofan2077:Yeah, one thing I really wanted to do with this story was really give a lot of dynamic interactions in each chapter. So I'm glad that it's being enjoyed. I'm really trying to think of interesting gameplay this season as well, while also blending it with more traditional TD gameplay. I'm actually glad you noticed this with how Brittany and Angel are playing the game so far. They're interesting predictions on who is going next. We shall just have to wait and see if you're right or wrong ;)
Lordgemini: I'm really glad people seem to be enjoying the teamless aspect. While it's a little harder making up eliminations for the early game, I think it's all worth it for giving even more dynamic gameplay. Once again, I'm glad that the interactions at the beginning of the chapter are being enjoyed. I think they help offer a lot to the characters, and help give a chance of giving interactions with people who may not normally interact a lot. With Kit and Joshua not accepting Diamond's alliance, it mostly comes down to how she handled proposing it. But you're right with saying that they are extremely powerful in this early game. Thanks for the review!
Welp, that's it. Until next time, have a good day! ~MG
P.S. I'm glad we can all agree that Dino chicken nuggies are, in fact, better than regular chicken nuggies.
