Chapter Ten: New Gear

(Cue All I Want for Christmas by Big Time Rush)

The Elves were working very fast as they ushered Goku, Wild Cat and the Pups into a different room. They started measuring all eight to see how they were going to make the Christmas themed suits.

Kendall: I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need

James: I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree

Elsewhere, Godwin was working with the Christmas Star and had a few of the Elves holding a few silver bells. The head Elf seemed to be figuring out how to connect the power of the star to the bells.

Carlos: I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know

Logan: Make my wish come true

Kendall: All I want for Christmas
Is you

Most of the Elves had the conveyer belts up and running again while a few others went out of the factory.

Logan: I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need

James: I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree

Some of the Elves had gathered up a lot of materials for the group's costumes and were currently in the process of putting the suits together. Needles went through fabrics and pieces came together.

Carlos: I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace

Kendall: Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day

From up on the balcony, Santa sat in a chair to keep himself comfortable but could still oversee the operations. One of the Elves walked up to him with a mug of hot chocolate and handed it to him. Santa gave the Elf an appreciative nod before taking the cup. He blew some of the steam away before taking a sip.

Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos: I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you
You baby

Those who were working on the suits were also getting some help from Ryder as he helped them bring them what they needed. Elsewhere, Goku and the Paw Patrol were going over maneuvers to be prepared for delivering the gifts.

Kendall: I won't ask for much this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow

Logan: I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe

James: I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick

Carlos: I won't even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeer's click

Mayor Humdinger and his kittens all helped the Elves bring the extra toys into the warehouse. When they brought them over to the sleigh, they hoisted the toys into the magical bag.

All: 'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
All I want for Christmas is you
You Baby

Back over with the Christmas Star, Godwin was able to figure something out as he had some of the Elves place seven of the silver bells against the object. Then placing his hands against the Christmas Star, Godwin wished for its power to spread to the silver bells.

James: All the lights are shining

Carlos: So brightly everywhere

James: And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air

The Elves working on the suits were nearly done as Ryder and the Elves were finishing up. Soon there were seven hats and seven suits laying on a table.

Carlos: And everyone is singing

Kendall: I hear those sleigh bells ringing

Logan: Santa won't you bring me the one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me? Oh

Godwin held one of the silver bells and it glowed when he held it in the light of the setting sun. Ryder went over to Goku and the Paw Patrol and motioned for them to follow him.

James: Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for

Carlos: I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door

All the toys were soon put into Santa's sack and one of the Elves closed up the bag. The Elves, Mayor Humdinger and his kittens all looked to each other and nodded.

All: Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is you

Everyone, from Santa on the balcony to everyone on the floor looked over to a set of double doors. The doors opened up and the Paw Patrol and Goku stepped into the room. The Pups were all dressed up in an Elf like costume, the only difference, besides the fact they were for a group of dogs and a cat, was that their outfits all had the colorings of their ordinary Paw Patrol outfits and even Wild Cat's was kind of like a motorcycle outfit. They looked to Goku's Santa like outfit and saw that it was designed like his Gi, but was mostly red with a few white trimmings, a black belt around his waist with a yellow buckle and black combat boots. On the Saiyan's left shoulder was a decorated tree while on his back was an image of Santa's sleigh. And on Goku's head sat a Santa hat.

All: All I want for Christmas is you baby

All the Elves gathered around and a few helped Santa down from the balcony. When he, Ryder, Mayor Humdinger and his kittens and all the Elves stood before the group they looked the eight over. Ryder gave a thumbs up and said, "I think we're ready."

"And not a moment too soon." Godwin said and pointed at the clock. It showed that they had worked all through the day and it was just a little before midnight. Looking to Goku and the Paw Patrol he said, "All have to explain as quick as I can."

He gestured for one of the Elves to bring one of the silver bells and handed it to Godwin. The lead Elf took and showed it to the group, "These silver bells have been empowered by the Christmas Star. Which will allow you to move at a much quicker pace to allow you to deliver the gifts."

"Goku." Ryder said, taking over the explanations. Goku looked to the boy and Ryder said, "Your Santa boots have been designed to hardly make any noise as you leave the gifts.

"You Pups will rely on your Pup Fu training to help sneak around." Ryder said before looking to Wild Cat, "And I'm pretty sure that you have stealth covered."

"Mm-hmm." Wild Cat nodded to confirm this. Godwin then said, "The bells will also tell you where to go, which gift goes to who as well."

"I have a feeling that there's something else that you need to tell us." Chase said, having a hunch. Godwin nodded and said, "And I do. You must be finished before sunrise. Because that's when the power of the Christmas Star will be nullified until next Christmas."

"Right." All eight friends nodded. Santa then said, "You'll begin immediately when the clock strikes midnight.

"But for now, just relax." Santa said before starting to get up. Some of the Elves helped him to his feet. Santa looked between Ryder and Godwin and asked, "If you would follow me?"

"Uh, sure." Ryder said while Godwin complied without hesitation. The rest of the Elves and the groups not from the North Pole spoke amongst themselves while three walked off.

"So, where are we going?" Ryder asked as they soon found themselves in a long hallway. Santa looked to the boy and said, "I have no doubt in your friends, Ryder. I never have. But as a precaution, I have a way to see into the future."

"So, it's like one of those better-safe-than-sorry kind of deals." Ryder guessed. Santa nodded before they came to one of the rooms. Godwin opened a door and all three entered. The room had a large crystal-clear stalagmite standing in the middle of it. Santa, Godwin and Ryder all stood before the crystal. While Godwin and Ryder kept back, Santa limped forward and gazed deeply into the crystal.

Author's Note: I've decided to end it on a cliffhanger, because I want to give a little foreshadowing. But we're getting closer to the end.
