Day 2 - Sacrifice

Ruby giggled, as her husband hugged her from behind. Feeling the tension in his arms. Sweetly, "Rough day, love?"

His chin rested on top of her head, and he nodded, "It's a lot harder to plan without Neo."

She felt guilty. Ruby constantly felt guilty about her, "Well, why don't you pull out one of your cigars and relax? I can handle the rest with Tyrian." Then, adding a little extra sugar to her voice, "It is sad you'll be gone on the 10th anniversary of the day we met."

He grumbled, "Oh yes, our first meeting was so romantic. I tried to murder you." pressing his hand to the slight bump in her belly, "You know why I won't smoke. Besides, you won't be doing the planning. You get stressed out at the mere thought of stealing things."

She huffed, "You're stealing a bunch of used books, that would have been trash, to sell to schools in the middle Mistral. So it's not like you're doing something bad."

He rolled his eyes before picking her up bridal style. He winked, "Well, Mrs. Torchwick, there are a few things I can think of to relieve stress."

She blushed brightly, "Roman!" wrapping her arms around his neck before kissing him.

"Did the misses have to give me cookies for the trip?" A loud sniff into his bag of treats.

"You could have left them on the plane," Roman snapped as they moved around the crates.

Tyrian giggled as he bit into a cherry chocolate chip cookie.

Raising his brow as he looked over a ledger, "I still don't understand why you're willing to work for me."

Tyrian shrugged, "You pay well. You consider my ideas."

Roman crouched low to look at a label on the crate. "I don't allow you to murder."

Tyrian dramatically tugged at his braid, "Well, cleaning organ matter out of my long locks was a hassle."

Roman chuckled warmly, "Help me lift this."

Tyrian eyes grew wide, staring at distant crates, "That one is glowing." soft manic laughter spilled from his lips.

"Not what we're for. Come on, in and out was the plan." Roman nearly hooked his cane on his belt until he saw Tyrian's blades move out of his sleeves.

Then he heard it, the soft shatter of glass never to touch the earth. His cane deflected a blow from Hush. He peered into those hate-filled brown and pink eyes as she struck and jabbed. His heart was in his throat as he parried or hooked her to spin her around. She pressed him backward, he couldn't hurt her, and she had the intent to kill.

Tyrian grabbed her by the hair and tossed her into the crates. "Do we abandon the mission, boss?"

Roman shook his head. It's what they usually did. "Tyrian, stay out of this!"

Maybe now it could be different. He allowed Neopolition's illusion to rupture against his skin. Twirling his cane up to block the true attack from her.

"Neo, I'm your little brother! You developed all of these moves with me." He needed her to listen.

She snarled, and in pure fury she pressed forward. Roman spun his weapon, sensing which to parry and which to accept the shattering deception against his person. He wouldn't dare use his semblance against her. They were made to work in tandem.

"Red's pregnant!"

Neo paused and blinked.

"You're going to be an aunt." Roman eagerly took advantage of her shock. "It's been a struggle."

Neo raised a brow and rolled her eyes. She pulled out her scroll. Why wouldn't she speak with her hands? His heart pounded he had a chance to have his sister back.

He forced a chuckled, "It's had its moments, but we've been trying for years."

She was typing and paused before continuing on her scroll, her mouth pursed.

"I know you hate me. I shouldn't have left you the way I did. I am so sorry..." He pressed on, "If it's a girl, we will name her Summer, and if a boy I thought after dad. But only if I had your blessing."

His fingers reached forward. Then her eyes went cold, and he saw her delete what she was typing before changing it to, -You can name a corpse whatever you like-

He froze...did she just threaten? Roman was the ass, but the child was blameless.

She leapt above him, her weapon hooked his throat and threw him. He crashed into a wooden crate land into something hard that was so bright it engulfed him.

"Calm down, we're not here for your money...grab the dust." His cane pointed to an old man, and he blinked wildly as his...no Junior's goons obeyed his orders. Then, finally, he heard her behind the aisles.

"Are you robbing me?"

Did she really use to sound that squeaky?

Broken glass was everywhere and the goons were strewn about the unconscious.

"Seriously? She's 15?"

That didn't sound right, his voice was deeper, and he swore he said something else. Oh fuck, his wife was 15, and he was 27… he looked at his coat arm. He wore this when he was 17 before he fled Vale. She slowly turned to him. Determination glowed in her eyes. He grinned with pride, that was his woman. Strong and brave, he was so lucky to be able to fight beside her.

She leveled her weapon at him.

Oh right… she hadn't sacrificed her huntress career yet.

She shot him.

His bright red Aura, identical to hers, absorbed the bullet. She squeaked, "You're under arrest!"

He wanted to coo at her and tell her he most certainly was. What was the smarmy thing he said to her? "Well, Red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd love to stick around, I'm afraid this is where we part ways…" wow how did he allow himself to be such a jackass?

He shot her with a smoke bomb and he fled up the building. He knew he was fast, but it felt so slow. His lungs were restricted. He'd have to quit smoking again. Making it to the plane. Do I want to repeat the past? He had to, Ruby Rose was his wife. They were starting a family. He would not jeopardize that.

BANG BANG

Swelling with pride at her persistence, he quickly deflected her shot. Gazed into those silver orbs. "Trust me, love, you don't want to follow me here."

She gritted her teeth, and it dawned on Roman he committed a cardinal sin for a husband.

He told her what she wanted...or didn't want.

He fumbled with a fire crystal and shot it. Glynda showed up but Red was past the flames. A floral bullet coming straight at him. His jaw slacked, his mind raced, he had to protect her. Then Cinder grabbed him by the collar and threw him into the pilot seat. Not knowing what else to do he kept the plane steady.

He heard a startled yelp and then a rifle pressed against his temple. He raised a brow, "You took out Cinder Fall?"

Red looked embarrassed, "She didn't realize my weapon was so big I just sort of hooked her and she-" The girl puffed herself up. "Land this plane!"

"No."

"I have you by gunpoint!" Her cheeks were puffed out and so badly he wanted to pinch one of them. How did he manage to hate such a cute girl?

"Okay, let me lay this out for you, school girl." He gave a cocky smirk, "You shoot me, can you fly a plane?"

He felt the barrel push harder into his temple. He knew her and, at this age, Red wouldn't shoot him.

"I have a landing strategy."

"For the plane or for you? Let's say you abandon ship. This plane will crash into civilians. You want that?"

Her lip quivered, and he squished down the urge to pull her close. Then the corner of his eye wandered over her developing curves. And now I remember what it's like to be a hormonal teen. He forced his gaze straight. His body had automatically flown them to the original gathering point, he looked at the fuel. "Fuck."

She didn't give him lip for his foul language, instead she looked out the window, "You're taking me to your base of operations."

He landed, "I'm going to open that door Red, you are going to find dozens of soldiers you think you're going to fight your way out? Do you even know how to navigate a hostile situation with a hostage?"

She was the best at it...in five years. Right now? He punched her elbow and twisted Crescent Rose out of her grasp. Then, with practiced ease, he folded it up and tucked it into his pocket. "I promise you, you will get out of this alive." He could hear his men approaching.

She blinked in shock, "Why would I believe you?" She moved into a defensive stance.

"Your feet need to be wider apart, and I just know you're going to cock your elbow." Or at least he assumed Yang had yet to drill that habit out of her. He twisted her wrists behind her back and pulled off his belt to bind her arms. Leaning down he was reminded how big their height difference used to be. "Because I want to protect you." unable to resist, he inhaled deeply and sighed as he pressed his cheek to her soft black hair. Startled when he heard her choke out a sob.

"Please don't. I'll do anything, I just don't want my first time to be with you."

It wasn't, it was with that short little twat...Mini Oz as Torchwick referred to the boy.

"Oiy Red. I'm not going to rape you." He realized anything he could say would just sound creepy and possessive. He tossed her over his shoulder. "For the record, I'm 17." or well the body was...he was going to have to consider the ethics soon.

She tried to wiggle free or kick him "Why does that matter!"

Roman groaned as he walked them down the ramp.

Wooing his future wife was not going well.
