The courtroom was frightening, and Marco sat by Nova, who was representing Star. Nova was in violet pants and a tunic the color of those signs on the freeway that tell you where the nearest McDonald's is. Moon sat with the commission at the front of the room. Sean stood with the typewriter, and the trial began.

"Thank you. We are gathered here today for the trial of Star Butterfly." Omnitraxus said, Sean clacking away with the typewriter. "We shall determine once and for all whether Star has committed the deeds reported. If she is found guilty, the punishment will be immediate admission to St. Olga's reform school for wayward princesses."

"Moon Butterfly, come up to the stand and make your statement." Moon stood up at the podium.

"I request a trial by box."

"What? That's not fair!" Star exploded, and Nova gave her the side eye.

"Trial by box. Sean, go fetch it." Omnitraxus Prime boomed, and Sean grabbed the Box of truth and wheeled it to the middle of the room, and he switched it on.

"Prepare for judgement! To all who seek the path of knowledge, listen well to this decree. Surrender to the eye of justice. Swear an oath of truth to me." Each person stuck their finger in the box at a time. Then it rose into the air and sat in front of Star.

"Each Member of the commission gets to ask a question." Ombitraxus explained, as Star shifted in her seat.

"Understood Omni." Nova said.

"I'll go first. Star, did you destroy your family heirloom wand?" Hekapoo said, crossing her arms.

"Well, Toffee made me-"

"Did you or did you not?"

"Yes. I did." Hekapoo wrote something on her clipboard.

"TRUTH." The box boomed.

The floor went to Lekmet. He bleated, and everyone turned to Rhombulus to translate.

"He says, '' Did you put your Sister Nova, and your friend Marco in danger?"

"I didn't mean to...I guess I technically did."

"TRUTH."

"My question next! My question next!" Rhombulus shouted.

"Alright." Omni said.

"Did you double dip the hummus at the Silver bell ball last year?"

"Seriously?" Hekapoo asked.

"Umm...No?"

"SOMEBODY LIED."

"You've got to be kidding me." Nova said, and nobody was sure if she was talking about the question or the fact she didn't get to do what she signed up for.

"How come your job isn't nessacary?" Marco asked.

"Lazy writing."

"TRUTH." The box said to Nova's answer.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Ok fine. I did. Once. Maybe twice. Maybe three times..." Star admitted.

"TRUTH."

"Ah ha! I told you so." Rhombulus said, and Lekmet handed him a wad of cash.

"Ok, only relevant questions from now on." Omni said.

"Did you commit treason against your kingdom?"

"I...I don't know. I guess I did, but I didn't mean to-"

"TRUTH."

"Now, it's Moon's turn."

"What? She doesn't get a turn!"

"She's a member of the commision. I guess she counts." Hekapoo said.

"Fine. What, Mom?"

"Are you sorry for everything you did?"

"No. I'm not. Because I never did anything wrong. I was being held against my will, I didn't have a choice to do these things."

"TRUTH."

"And that wraps up our trial-"

"Hold on. If she's allowed to ask a question, so should I." Nova argued, and Omni glanced at the rulebook and shrugged.

"I'll allow it, Just make it quick."

"Alright. Mom, who is my father?"

"Your father? River. Of course."

"SOMEBODY LIED. BIG TIME."

"That's what I thought." Nova said, as the box built up around them and started to shrink, trapping everyone inside.

"Quick Mom! Just answer. We're going to die!" Star yelled, trying to keep the ceiling from shrinking.

"Fine. Your Father is Count Mildew."

"TRUTH."

The room opened back up to the normal size, and the box dropped to the floor.

"Alright. Where is he?"

"Each Member get's to ask ONE question." Omni said.

"Fine. I'll figure it out on my own." Nova stormed off, and Star took a deep breath and approached Moon.

"So what're you going to do?"

"Omnitraxus Prime will come up with his verdict, I'll decide from then on."

"I will now deliver my verdict. Star lied about double dipping, and the rest of the relevant evidence is irrefutable that she committed treason. Although on the other hand, Queen Moon also lied. So both of you are guilty, because you swore the truth. Moon is too old to have admission into St. Olga's, and the place is a party school, it would be rewarding her. I suggest you send her back to Earth and keep a close eye on her."

"T-that wasn't the agreement! If she was found guilty she would be sent to St. Olga's! So is she innocent or guilty?"

"Queen Moon, if you'll just calm down-"

"Me calm down? You're the one who can't even hold a proper trial-"

"Omni came to a verdict, you are being an uncivilized-" Hekapoo shouted.

"Oh please! Can everyone show some decorum!" Omni burst out, before turning to Star and Nova.

"You are dismissed from this courtroom." He said, and they hightailed it out into the hallway. Nova bent down to the floor, and listened, not that it was exactly necessary, you could probably hear it from the mountains.

"Oh you just took it a step too far-" Omnitraxus started to say.

"WAR! WAR!" Rhombulus chanted.

"No war right now, we can't afford to put the princesses in danger!" Moon said.

"We can't afford to put Mewni in danger, especially at a time like this! Toffee is a threat at large and since Miss Heinous left, the future rulers are becoming irresponsible and reckless. Mewni is in danger. A civil war would cause even more problems." Moon yelled.

"If you didn't want this conflict you should've fixed these problems." Hekapoo said.

Nova stood up and brushed her violet pants off.

"Let them fight." She said,

"Are you not concerned about this?" Marco asked.

"Not my circus, not my monkeys." Nova concluded, and walked away.

None of them had any idea how bad it would get.
