Draco wants to learn more about Muggles, and who better to teach him than his boyfriend, Harry?
"So, how does this thing work?" Draco asked, looking at the box Harry was sitting at, it seemed to have a display that was connected to a board with letters on it.
"This?" Harry asked. "This is a computer. If you use these letters on the keyboard, it types words on it." Then he gestured to the strange round thing with buttons. "And this is called a mouse."
"Why?" Draco asked puzzled. "It doesn't look like a mouse."
"Good question, I'm not really sure why they called it a mouse." Harry laughed. He shrugged. "Anyway, let's get back to what I can teach you."
Draco nodded, pulling a chair closer to see what Harry was doing on the screen.
He watched as Harry went through the motions, and was hypnotized by the way Harry's fingers moved across the keys without Harry even needing to glance down at the letters.
"Wow, how do you know what you're pushing? You aren't even looking!" Draco exclaimed in surprise.
"I don't know, I suppose it's second nature, I know where the letters are by now."
"Is it the same on every computer?" Draco asked curiously.
"Yeah, the style is called QWERTY, it means all the keys are in the same place."
"That's pretty cool, so once you know where the letters are, you almost don't need to look, like you do," Draco said.
Harry nodded in agreement. "It's different when playing games, they don't all use the same keys."
"That seems a bit silly," Draco said, eyeing the keyboard as he watched Harry load up a shooting game. Harry explained as they went, showing the keys to choose the gun, and to use it, and it took a while before Draco learnt the commands.
"So, in a different game, it won't use these same commands?" Draco asked again as his character got killed by an incoming grenade.
"Yeah, I wonder about that too sometimes." Harry said. "But not all the games are made by the same people."
"Oh, so different Muggles create games for this?"
"Yeah," Harry said with a grin. "Pretty cool, isn't it?"
"Fascinating how Muggles make do without magic," Draco agreed.
"If I didn't know better, I would think you were being a prat," Hermione said as she walked in from the kitchen. Harry laughed, but Draco's expression went sour.
"Oh come on," Harry said. "She is kidding."
"I think she's been married to Weasley for too long," Draco said. "She's gotten meaner."
Hermione laughed. "I've always been mean, Draco. Remember I punched you once?"
"Well, I was asking for it, it really wasn't Buckbeak's fault." Draco replied, shocking both Gryffindors. "It's still something I harbour guilt for."
"We got him out though, remember?" Harry said softly, putting a hand on Draco's shoulder.
"Only because of the time-turner, it easily could have been a death sentence, and I was just being a well, prat, I suppose."
"But he didn't, everything turned out the way it should have." Hermione said, suddenly overcome with some guilt at turning the lovers' moment into a joke.
"Yeah," Harry added, leaning over to squeeze Draco's shoulder. "We all made mistakes, we can't judge ourselves on who we used to be."
Draco smiled, and Hermione was glad the situation seemed to be diffused. Harry always had a knack for teaching. She wasn't surprised he made computers interesting to Draco Malfoy.
