Author's Note: Hello everyone, here we are with the net chapter. Please read and review generously. I thank all who have favorited and following the story. This chapter is about Naruto and Lena, some good moments. Special thanks to Time Paradox for all his help with this story, he came up with a ton of the ideas and plots, much credit to him. Without further ado, let us begin.
Chapter Nine- Their Second Meeting
After the paramedics were done fussing over her, Lena made sure the coast was clear as she searched for her mysterious savior. She needed to talk to him, learn more about him. She had this weird sort of inkling that he was the one who was part of the Incident years ago. If it were truly so, then they had a lot to talk about.
She did not have to search far to find her savior. As she used the cover of darkness to find him, she could make out his silhouette in an alley with a half-working light. She quietly chased him to find out where he lived, and she was shocked by what she saw.
Her savior had moved his hands in a weird way and his clothes disappeared to be replaced by another set of clothes; simple t-shirt and leather jacket with blue jeans and shoes. He moved at a speed she considered inhuman, before she finally caught up to his destination. If not for all the training she had done, she would never have been able to find him.
She finally caught up to him, and hid to catch her breath. Her savior had appeared at the National City Memorial, a place where all the victims of the Incident were buried. In the center of the area, was a roaring fire which illuminated the area. There were people who were silently paying their respects to their loved ones.
Finally, she got a good look at the man who saved her, and she suffered a greater shock. Her gut instinct had proven her right, as this was truly the man who was part of the Incident. The only pictures from the Incident about the three participants were heavily blurry due to the explosions and the smoke and chaos. There was a picture of a man with blonde hair, but the face and everything else was blurry. However, there was one truth that Lena knew. People ignored what was right in front of them. After all, who would think this blond was capable of leveling a city by himself?
As Lena was lost in her thoughts, Naruto quietly stared at the Memorial Stone as he read the names of the people who died; all of them men, women, and children. And they were husbands, wives, sons and daughters. Naruto looked at the bottom of the stone, and the name he carved onto the stone: Uchiha Satsuki.
Naruto had to admit, they were both at odds with one another, but they had a strange type of friendship, if you could call it that. They were both kindred souls who had suffered deeply, but they had forged some sort of bond, a bond that was developing into love.
And then Kaguya came and ruined else that was good in his life. Not only did Satsuki die, but the chaos and bloodshed she brought on this new Earth was horrendous. And the result of this battle had created great fear and gave the government the impetus it needed to exercise its will upon non-humans.
They were being rounded up, persecuted, and tortured without due process, and imprisoned in places that people could not find. Naruto closed his eyes and shook his head. He felt hurt by what was happening in the world. There were good and bad aliens and metahumans in the world. And they were fighting to protect their loved ones from being hurt. It seemed this situation would not change anytime soon.
Naruto opened his eyes and saw a mother and her daughter place flowers at one of the headstones around the Memorial Stone. The child was holding a balloon that was about to fly away, until he grabbed it and gave it to the child. The child simply smiled at him as both mother and daughter walked away quietly, as it started to rain slowly.
Naruto stared at the sky and shook his head in sadness.
"So, even the sky is shedding tears at all of this. It seems I will carry this burden and pain for a long time, a very long time. Dear, I hope one day you can move past this pain and find the peace you and your mother crave. One day, all of this will just be a bad memory that will be replaced by such sweeter memories."
"And to the dead, I share the same courtesy. I hope you are all in heaven, surrounded by your loved ones, and having some good times. I hope you have it better up there."
Naruto looked at Satsuki's name as he placed his palm on it fondly.
"Was she dear to you?"
Naruto turned around to see a beautiful raven-haired woman with the most piercing green eyes, as if they were staring into his soul. She had a calm expression on her face.
Naruto smiled a little.
"She was the best. However, she was not meant to be long for the world. Its enough for me."
Lena sat there peacefully in the rain with him.
"By the way, what is Lena Luthor doing sitting here with me?"
Lena said nothing as he smiled, a funny idea running though his head.
Naruto licked his thumb, and wiped Lena's cheek.
"That is gross, cut it out."
Naruto laughed. "It's just disinfectant."
As the silence continued, Lena decided to talk again.
"Hey, you don't miss her? Don't you feel like crying?"
Lena then saw a makeshift noose, as Naruto began singing. "I am so sad that I could die."
"Cut that out."
"No, I am tired of crying. My tears have dried up, you know."
As Naruto returned to looking at the Memorial Stone, it hit Lena.
"No, this man is crying, he is crying a lot. He is a good man."
Naruto decided to leave, as he just wanted a bowl of ramen and some good sleep.
"Wait, I was hoping we could talk some more."
"Ms. Luthor, we did talk, at the gala. And I did ask for your help to find someone. However, I am not really in the mood to speak to anyone right now. I will come and find you when I need to."
Lena calmly stood up and walked very close to him, entering his personal space.
"And what if I want to talk about the Incident?"
All of a sudden, Naruto's emotions did a 180. Instead of gentle warmth, there was a cold stare on his face. However, Lena was undeterred and she returned his stare.
"Choose your next words carefully, Ms. Luthor".
"Relax, I am not here to expose you. After all, who would truly believe me? It's ludicrous to think that a blonde man is capable of such destruction and power, and if on the off chance that this is true, is it really wise to pursue an unknown and dangerous entity without further information?"
Naruto narrowed his eyes. "You seem to have given this a great deal of thought."
"I have. It's only a matter of time before the wrong kind of people figure out who you are. Nevertheless, they would not actively hunt you until they had a way to hurt you."
"And you are not one of those people?"
"No, I am not. The Luthors have done some crazy things, and I have done everything I can to be better than my last name. Trust me, I would make a very good ally. Besides, I have a reason to want to speak to you."
"The Incident… robbed me of my ability to have children."
Naruto closed his eyes in anguish. Was he fated to only meet people who were scarred by Kaguya?
"I am not blaming you for anything. Some things are just meant to be, you cannot fight it, only accept it. Besides, you are not responsible for my pain. I just want to know my hero, and the man who saved me from something horrible happening to me. Can we please go somewhere to talk? It's raining quite hard now."
"Just talking?"
"That's entirely your prerogative. Lena spoke with a flirtatious smile.
Naruto sighed. He knew that one day someone would learn about him, he just did not know it would be this soon. However, he needed help to find his friend, and he was someone who chose to judge people on their deeds and merits, not their names or who they were related too.
"Very well, I know a place we can talk; my home. It's my territory. And, if I find out you are lying to me, I will destroy you."
"Thanks for the warning. Now, shall we?
Lena outstretched her hand, and Naruto shook it gently. He and Lena moved to a dark alley, where he made sure no one was there. Forming a hand seal, he created a thick expanse of mist, and used it to mask his flight back to his cabin.

Naruto landed gently under the cover of night, and got Lena into the cabin, as he set up a roaring fire. They were both drenched, as he needed to make sure she was warm.
He formed a hand seal and unleashed a small burst of flame which got the fireplace working. Lena was just in awe at what he did. If her mother found out about him, she would not stop until she learned everything she could about him.
"You can change in my bedroom. There is a robe and towels. And, if you need to shower, go ahead."
Naruto was busy making dinner for the two of them, as Lena went into his bedroom. Despite being drenched, she decided to take a shower. She removed her clothes, and let the warm water run all over her body, as she was lost in her thoughts.
She had no idea how she got this far, but this was her chance to get the answers she wanted, and learn more about this man. She had to admit, she felt jealous at hearing Naruto speak about this friend. She had an inkling, that this friend was more than that, perhaps, she was a lover. She felt jealous, but when she placed her hand on her stomach, she wondered who would be able to accept her, as she knew that men desired children of their own, and she could not do that.
She finished showering and dried herself off, as she wore a robe, and went into the living room and was captivated by the warmth and aroma of what Naruto was cooking. The smell was intoxicating and heavenly.
As Lena made her presence known, Naruto pointed her to a small table where he placed a bowl of hot ramen onto the table for her. Lena would not admit it, but she was feeling ravenous from all the events that had transpired.
She took one bite, and could not stop eating. Its no wonder people enjoyed this ramen. It was so flavorful, but at the same time, there was something very special about it. It reminded her of home, of warm and comforting memories that she shared with her mother. She was convinced that anyone who ate this ramen would feel the same way.
As she polished off the first bowl, she could not help but ask for seconds. Naruto chuckled heartily; ramen did that to anyone.
"Eat as much as you want, to your heart's content. After that, we can talk."
