Author's Note: Hello everyone, here we are with another chapter. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it. I thank all those who have favorite the story, who are following the story, and who have taken time out of their busy lives to review; it all helps. Here is the next chapter. Without further ado, let us begin.

Chapter Ten- Answers and Realizations

After Lena had polished off her bowl of ramen, she stared intently at Naruto. She could not believe her eyes. She was sitting with the same man who was public enemy number one in America, as she was sitting in his home, and sipping on a cup of warm tea; something she was actually grateful for. His cabin was in the woods in a cold, cold place. She was grateful for the fireplace and extra warmth.

She saw Naruto sit opposite her, wearing orange pajamas with green frogs on them; it made him look quite cute. It made her laugh a little. However, this was a golden opportunity for her. She had so many questions, and this was good of a time as any to get some answers.

"It is you, isn't it? You are the one; the man who everyone is looking for in America. I thought you were just a figment of my imagination, but you are real."

"And you are Lena Luthor, the black sheep of the Luthor family, and a woman who already acquired two PHD's at such a young age. Oh, and you are a beautiful woman. I don't always have beautiful woman inquiring about me, but it is nice."

Lena smiled. "Really, I am beautiful?"

Naruto laughed gently. "Well, you are. Your face is very pretty, you have gorgeous black hair, and you have eyes that I want to be lost in. I just want to kiss you senseless, you know?"

Lena blushed a little at Naruto's forwardness. "As much as I enjoy these compliments, I do have questions of my own. I had no idea that an alien like you could stay hidden among everybody."

"Sorry to disappoint, but I am a genuine human being."

"That's impossible. A human cannot do what you did."

"Well that's the truth."

Lena was like a dog with a bone. She would never let this go. She needed to know the truth about all of this. Everything that she had suffered, there had to be some sort of reason why things turned out the way they did, why she had worked so hard to find her path and prove that she was different compared to the rest of her family.

"Please, can't you just answer to me? I know I am being nosy and intrusive, but I need to know. I know you cannot tell me everything, and you value your privacy. I have invaded your world, I know that. However, you have my word, I would not tell anyone what we discuss here."

Naruto thought about it, and decided he could share something with her. Its not like she could do anything about it.

"Lena, I am a human being. However, I am a human being from another Earth, another dimension entirely."

Lena stilled at hearing this, as her mind was running a mile a minute.

Naruto wondered what she was thinking about.

"You should not think so hard about this."

"How could I not? Is it possible, the Multiverse Theory exists? You are proof of this."

"I am not sure what this Multiverse means, but there is no way for you to access my world. It is beyond your reach. I came here by chance, by accident. There was nothing planned or premeditated."

Lena was still unconvinced.

"You keep insisting that you are a human being. How can you explain the things that a human being should not be able to do?"

"The human beings of my Earth were blessed with a special power. This power made them superhuman. It gave them the ability to manipulate the elements, to walk on water, to fly, to reduce something to atoms; to heal, and to even cheat death. This power gave human beings the ability to wage three world wars unlike anything you have seen before. Should I keep going?"

Lena's heart stilled. This man spoke about three world wars? She closed her eyes and wondered what kind of suffering must have befallen, on the ones who were left to pick up the pieces. Ws it truly possible, that this man was telling the truth?"

"You have made your point. You have my word. Unless I have your explicit permission, I will not reveal anything you have said to another soul."

"Really, just like that?"

"Yeah, just like that. Could you imagine what the world would think, how the world will feel if they know something like you exists out there? People would become curious to know how a human being can do things like this. There would be calls for your arrest. And there are people would be deeply interested in studying you, by force if necessary."

"Can you imagine what human beings would do if they had access to your abilities? If they could truly weaponize such power for themselves? I shudder to think what kind of new wars would occur.

Lena could picture what her mother would do, if she had access to such power. She would be able to hunt down aliens and metahumans with greater efficiency, and kill whoever she wanted. No, it would be better that Blondie was kept a secret for everyone's sake. The world was not ready for a man like him, nor was it ready for that woman who saved her life.

"Let's change topics. We should table this topic for another time."

Naruto sighed. " Lena, I am sorry for what you had to suffer…"

Lena shook her head. "Its not your fault. Look, I am sad for what I have lost. However, you have nothing to do with that. You didn't ask to come to this world, you were brought here. One day, I will figure things out on that front. I have some things I want to ask."

"Shoot."

"What do you want to do with your life?"

"I am just living my life day to day. I am enjoying solitude and happiness."

"You should be out there, helping people."

Naruto narrowed his eyes. "You think I asked for this life that I have?"

Lena raised her hands in a placating gesture. "No, you did not. You have not told me your whole truth, and I don't expect that from you. And, truth be told, when you were talking about your special friend, I felt really jealous. I can tell you really loved this person. And for the first time, I realized I can never have that."

"However, for better or for worse, you have impacted the world. It is because of the Incident, that the lives of aliens and metahumans have irrevocably changed for the worse. They are being hunted, imprisoned, and tortured. They are being taken from their families, and being turned into weapons. You could be a great help to them."

"And what is it you want from life, Ms. Luthor?"

Lena answered him confidently. "I want to forge my own legacy. There is an expectation that a Luthor is always a bad seed, something evil. And I want to prove that wrong. I want to forge my own legacy. We have the power to protect these people, and we should. Humans and non-humans can coexist. People fear what they cannot understand. We cannot change the hearts of humanity so easily. However, until such a time comes, we can at least protect non-humans in our own way."

Naruto smiled gently at her. " You know what, I was right about you all along. You truly are a good person. And you are better than your brother and your last name, never let anyone in this world tell you different."

Lena looked down at the floor, unaccustomed to hear such praise being heaped on her. She decided to continue speaking.

"We can create a facility, a place where Metahumans have a place to hide. And technology, that would allow them to mask their identities, give them a chance to breathe in the world and enjoy freedom and happiness, without looking over their shoulders constantly…, What's so funny?"

Naruto laughed gently. "No, I am not laughing at you. It's just I find your energy infectious. I have not seen anyone really come up with a way to tackle this situation, but you are right, I have to do something."

"I cannot bury my head in the snow and live in the middle of nowhere forever. That's not the kind of man I am. I was never meant to have an easy life, not after what happened to me back home. For better or for worse, this mistake happened because of that faded bitch. And it is up to you and I to make a difference now in this world; to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. I will help you."

Lena gently held his hand. "Naruto, is there a chance that you will one day let me in to your life, tell me your story? I know you have suffered a lot in life. Won't you share your suffering with me? Our lives have both been altered. We can share in each other's sorrows and grief together."

Naruto held her hand gently as he pressed a soft kiss to it. "I don't know if I can, Lena. I lost a lot in my life, and my life was changed the day I was born. Every time I fall in love, something horrible happens and I suffer for it. I don't want anything to happen to you because of me. I am not sure if I can see you more as a friend. I am sorry, I am."

Lena's breath hitched, as Naruto gently retreated from her."I need to go to bed. We can talk more tomorrow. You can use the guest room. You can wear my clothes that are in there."

Naruto went inside his room to sleep, as Lena closed her eyes in pain. She was such a fool; to think that she could fall for someone so quickly. She should have known that a handsome man had attracted the eye of many a woman. After all, she was a damaged woman. In the end, what could she really give him?"

Lena had no idea how much time had passed, as she managed to find a way to sleep. And then, she heard the loud crack of thunder, which opened her eyes, and the sounds of soft, painful moans from the other room.

Lena got up slowly, and went into his room, and her heart broke at the sight. Naruto was covered in a cold sweat, as he was slowly tossing and turning in his bed, as he was having a nightmare. Lena placed her hand on his forehead, and noticed his temperature. He felt cold, and he was covered all over in a cold sweat; he was having a nightmare. She also noticed that he was having some sort of fever.

Her heart broke as she heard him sob in his sleep, remembering the people who died during the Incident, the ones he could not save. Lena was right all along. The one called Naruto was truly a kind, and good man.

She held him closely in her arms, hoping to get him to stop shivering. Naruto awoke in her arms, as he was shocked.

"Lena, what did you see?"

"You were having a nightmare, and you mentioned a woman's name. I was worried."

"I am sorry; I did not mean to worry you. Go back to bed, I will be fine."

Lena instead held him, and gave him a playful grin.

"Lena…"

"What? You have a fever, and you are cold. I am just warming you up."

"Lena…, we can't…"

Lena simply placed a finger on her lips.

"Naruto, I know you loved someone, and that person was dear to you. I cannot imagine what it is like to be in love. I know I am not that person. However, I am a Luthor, and we Luthors are a stubborn lot; we take great pride in that. I am not one to give up. I cannot explain it, but I feel something for you. I cannot replace the person in your life, but I can worm my way into your heart. I can promise you this, I will never let you down, and I will never hurt you. Please, give me a chance to experience what love can feel like. You have suffered so much in life, let me take away some of your pain. For once in your life, let this be a night where you can sleep in peace, where you are not tormented by the past. I am not saying that we are going to have sex, that part can come later on in our lives. For now, let me just hold you, so you can sleep in peace.

Naruto closed his eyes, as she remembered the Incident. Though he did not show it, he carried that pain with him for a long time. And there would be nights, where he was tormented by Satsuki's death. Maybe, just this once, he could find solace in the arms of this kind woman.

He gently nodded, and Lena softly kissed him, as Naruto enjoyed the taste of her sweet lips, as their tongues gently dueled. Lena softly broke the kiss, as she joined her forehead with his, and peppered his face with kisses, as she inhaled the scent of his hair.

She pulled him close into his arms, as she wrapped her legs around his torso, and pulled his head to his chest, as she played with his hair, getting lost in his eyes.

"Sleep, Naruto. I am here now. It will all be okay. There are many forms of love, and this is another one."

For the first time in a long while, Uzumaki Naruto and Lena Luthor went to sleep, not caring about their problems, and just happy to be in each others' arms. Lena softly pressed kisses to his head, as she played with his hair, and Naruto wrapped his arms around her, and fell asleep. And for once in his life, the nightmares stopped.
