Author's Note: Hello everyone, here we are with another chapter. I hope you all enjoy it. Please read and review generously. Once again, I thank all who have favorite and are following the story, and who have taken time out of their busy lives to review; it all helps. In honor of 100 reviews, I have come up with an action-packed chapter. Without further ado, let us begin.
Chapter Twelve- The First Salvo
The faint sound of chirping birds and the small rays of the sun filtered through the cabin window, as they fell on Lena's face, which made her wake up with irritation. For now, the only thing she wanted was to snuggle with her favorite person, who doubled as a very special pillow.
She opened her eyes to see Naruto was not in their bed. She looked around as her jaw dropped a little at the special sight she was seeing.
He was training hard, going through a series of exercises, practicing different forms of martial arts katas, as her eyes were drinking in the shape and lines of his muscles. She saw the way the sweat was trailing down his body, as she saw his muscles ripple. She bit her lip as she was turned on from this sight. It was as if steam was coming out of her ears, as she blushed like a tomato.
To her disappointment, his session of exercise ended as he boldly winked at her, and she coughed turning her face to the side. He sauntered over to her, as he kissed her hair.
"So, sleeping beauty is finally up."
Lena gave him a pointed look. "Well, she had to be. Sleeping Beauty was without her favorite pillow."
Naruto gently played with her hair. "I am sorry about that. We can never escape real life. I would love to spend more time in bed with you, but, there are other things we have to do."
Lena nodded gently. As much as she enjoyed the time she was spending here, away from reality, she had her own goals still to pursue. She made a vow to help metahumans and she also wondered what Hope was up to.
Lena decided to change topics for a bit. "You know something? Its illegal to look like that. Seriously, did Michelangelo carve you out of stone personally?"
Naruto smirked. "Really? You should take your own advice then. Have you seen yourself in the mirror? Its illegal to look so beautiful, you'd set the oceans on fire."
Lena looked at her feet, as Naruto placed finger underneath her chin, playing gently with her hair. He smirked as he gently pushed her to the bed, and gave her a deep kiss. She was caught off guard, as he dominated her mouth, his tongue outdueling hers.
He wrapped his arms around her torso, and his legs around hers, as he played with her hair, dominating her mouth. Lena kissed back with equal fervor, as she grabbed his ass and squeezed, as he did the same to her.
He broke the kiss, as Lena sighed in contentment. It felt like her body was on fire, as her toes were tingling.
Naruto grinned. "That's for being such a tease. Now, I need to go take a shower, and make breakfast. And, judging by the look on your face, I would say you do too.
With a saucy smile, he removed his pajamas, and threw them at Lena, as he went to the bathroom. Her jaw dropped at his audacity, as she got a full look at his naked body. She chose not to look away, as she drank in every inch before closing her jaw to avoid drooling. Lena simply smirked.
"Oh, you think you have the upper hand? Just you wait, fishcake, that body is going to be all mine soon."
With the butterflies rolling around in Lena's stomach, there was something of greater importance needed.
"I need a fucking cold shower. That idiot got me all hot and bothered."

"So, what is the agenda on had today? As much as I would love to stay here, we do have something to accomplish."
Lena was drinking tea after she polished off her breakfast.
"Naruto…, I want you to come with me. I want to show you my lab."
"Really?" Naruto was intrigued now. He was curious as to how Lena made that suit.
"Yes, I want to take you to my lab. I feel that you deserve it. You have chosen to entrust me with some of your secrets, so in turn, I can do the same for you."
"Besides, after what we did a little while ago, I am comfortable in showing you the other sides of my life. And I hope, you can entrust me with the other sides of your life as well."
Naruto noticed Lena wringing her hands in anticipation of what he was going to say. Naruto gently held them as he soothed them with his fingers and kissed her knuckles. She looked up at him, as he moved away a strand of hair.
"Lena, I am honored that you think I am worthy of seeing your lab. I know you want to know more about my life, and curiosity is not a sin. I like you too a lot. Besides, what we did on that bed, I only do that with someone I care for. I have no idea where any of this will go, but we owe it to ourselves to explore it fully, before we give ourselves to each other completely."
Lena gave him a hug, and a soft kiss, as she rested her head against his chest. She too looked forward to exploring these new feelings. Naruto gently grabbed her hand, as he locked the door of the cabin, and took her in his arms, as he prepared to fly.
"Hold on tight."

"Well, that was fun."
Using his abilities, Naruto kept them masked, as they flew to Lena's warehouse and touched down. On the outside and inside, it looked mangy and decrepit. To keep the cover of the warehouse, Lena brought wood, and various things such as paper, pencils, and other essentials in massive quantities to throw anyone off what she had been doing.
Inside the warehouse was another room that looked like a standard office. It had a computer with a table, and a bookcase, with a mini fridge to the side. To a normal person, it looked nothing special. However, behind some of the books, was a special scanner, which led to an elevator. Lena and Naruto took it as it led them deep underground, where Lena's laboratory was set up, along with her weaponry and equipment for her suit.
Besides her lab, the elevator also led to secret exit paths which led them far past the warehouse, in case the facility was ever compromised. Naruto and Lena entered the laboratory, and she turned on the lights, as Naruto's eyes lit up.
However, there was someone she wanted him to meet.
"Hope, please come out."
Out of nowhere, a technological image materialized, and the AI, Hope materialized in front of them, as Naruto looked at Lena in shock. It was a child, probably around fourteen years of age, with black hair, looking ethereal with white clothing.
"Wow, you have been busy."
"She's…, my daughter, Hope."
Naruto closed his eyes, as he was reminded of something that he took away from Lena, albeit indirectly. He would make sure that things would get better for Lena in the future.
Hope stared at Naruto for a brief moment, and Naruto felt unnerved, as if she was judging his soul. Finally, Hope smiled.
"I thank you for taking care of my mom. I know she can be an idiot and foolish at times, but she has a big heart."
Naruto smiled at hope. "I can tell how much you love your mom. And I promise, I will never hurt your mother" Naruto gave Lena a lovely smile."After all, she is dear to me."
"I have to admit, Lena. This is impressive. To think you were able to make artificial intelligence that could feel, man, this is better than even the armor you made."
Lena gently blushed, as Hope looked back and forth between her mom and Naruto. She grinned, as she decided to tease her mom.
"I am so happy that my mom has a boyfriend. You know, I gave up hope that I was ever going to have a little brother or sister. Thanks to you, I still have hope? Did you know my mother reads the Kama-Sutra? I could tell you her favorite poses and positions."
Lena stilled, as she closed her eyes and looked away for a moment. Naruto wore he saw unshed tears in her eyes, as even Hope herself realized that she said something she never should have said. She was aware of her mother's condition, and could have shown some much needed tact.
"Momma, I am sorry. I forgot…, I did not realize…"
Naruto sighed gently, as he smiled at Hope.
"Its okay. Sometimes, we get a little ahead of ourselves, and speak what we feel in our hearts. It's alright. Go, talk to her."
Hope appeared in front of her mother.
"I am sorry, Momma."
Lena gave her a watery smile. "And Momma forgives you. I love you very much, sweetheart."
"Aww, that's so sweet. Now, before you continue this love-fest, can I look at these things here?"
Lena nodded, as she got treated to another special sight from the man that she came to deeply admire and care for. While Naruto paid minimal attention to the guns, he was practically drooling over her armor, and the unique swords and Japanese weapons she had; Lena was a collector of some specific things.
"Man, this armor is amazing, so sleek, and futuristic. And these swords, man these are really cool katanas. And you have Kunai and Shuriken, man its like I am back home. Not too into these guns, but they do look special."
Lena felt awfully proud of herself here. As a scientist, she loved exploring the how's and why's behind something. And also, she loved to get hands on and make her own things, being somewhat of an engineer. So, when she saw Naruto geek out over all this, it made her smile. She saw him investigate the barrel of a rifle, and she got worried.
"I love your enthusiasm, I do. But the guns, they are still experimental. And I don't want you to get hurt."
"Please, I am pretty durable."
Lena smirked. "Just humor me."
"Fair enough. Maybe, you can explain some of this stuff to me?"
Lena gave him a smile. "I would love to do that. I have not had much time in explaining what I make here, and I would love to share it with you."
Lena led him to the armor. "So, the armor. Its form fitting, and has good colors to it. The helmet has a visor for enhanced vision in the dark, and it can inhibit anyone wanting to see my face. The armor is powered by a main reactor protected by armor plating, and a miniature secondary reactor in case of emergencies, also protected by armor plating. The back of the armor has the main jetpack, along with several small thrusters, covered in pentagon armor plating. I can cross Mach Speeds with this."
"The armor itself is composed of a titanium alloy; strong enough to be durable and take hits, but still lightweight. I will need stronger metals in the future, but the suit has strong physical characteristics to it."
"And now comes, the weapons: guns and swords."
"The first weapon is a pistol, powered by exchangeable batteries. Its more of a last resort type of weapon that slows me to stun an opponent, and fire rapid energy blasts. Its not lethal, but it can get the job done."
"Here is the second weapon. A sidearm that uses energy drum cartridges that fires superheated energy bolts. It can't fire rapidly, but it causes good damage."
"And now, a rifle. Its made of Titanium Alloy, so its lightweight. Its got two types of ammo and two firing modes. One is like the pistol; rapid-fire bolts of energy that can be superheated, and use interchangeable batteries. The second mode consists of drum cartridges capable of firing explosive rounds with good area coverage."
"I was thinking of a particle cannon, but its not feasible. The containment field would destabilize with every second shot. Instead, I have this idea. I can combine my rifle with my side arms to form the "Caladbolg", a weapon shaped like a miniature railgun. The damage I could cause with that would be insane. However, that is still in the planning stages."
"I came up with a projectile attachment instead. It can be fired at mach speed, and is strong enough to wipe out an entire facility.
"And now, my swords. Some I bought, but these I made on my own. Their forged from a sharp, unique metal, and can cut through a lot of things. They are lightweight, the grip is nice, and they do not need to be sharpened as often."
"And then there is sword. A prototype. A sword that can be superheated to over a 1000 degrees, and can cut through almost anything in the world. However, it's a ways off. I might need a force field or barrier to stop it from causing the user damage."
"As a distraction, there is a shoulder mounted energy cannon, and frag grenades and ice grenades that can be fired as disks. For defensive purposes, the armor has braces that can generate an energy shield."
Naruto had sweat coming down his neck, as he gave her a deadpan expression. "Lena, you know I love you, but I didn't understand a word you said."
Lena gave him an incredulous expression. "Then why didn't you stop me?"
"Well, you were on a roll, and I didn't want to say anything. Besides, I feel like you have been wanting to explain all this for a long time…, and who am I to deny you such an opportunity."
"Aww, that is so sweet…, then allow me to explain how I crafted these weapons…"
Naruto grimaced which did not escape her notice. "Can we not speak about those things? I never did well in school, and I came from a world that never had so much technological advancement… I mean, you are more attractive than any teacher I had…, but that comes with its own problems." Naruto smirked as he looked at her body from head to toe, as he gave her a lecherous grin.
"My eyes are up here, fishcake." She said this without any bite in her words and with a sigh she conceded to his point. "You are right."
Lena then stepped closer so that her fingers could reach his chest. "It would be hard not to get distracted." She mirrored his lecherous grin, as she went to give him a kiss, wrapping her arms around him…
"Ugh, get a room you two. Mom and Dad should always do intimate things in a room."
Lena withdrew her arms from him, as she grinned at her daughter.
"You cheeky little brat…, I have been thinking of adding some subroutines…"
Hope looked up in alarm. "Okay, I understand. No more teasing. I want to show you something mom."
Hope led them to a computer screen, where Lena and Naruto saw an image of facility.
"It took me some time, but I found it at last. A rundown warehouse that is actually a metahuman prison. They have been doing nasty things down here. Its on the outskirts of a city, hidden by a large forest. And there is something else down there, something not entirely human.
Lena grit her teeth in anger. This smelled exactly like her mother's handiwork. Well, she was going to ruin her parade.
"Hope, are the safe houses ready?"
"Yes, Momma. The safe houses are ready, and they are in different areas across the city. As soon as you free them, we can keep them there. The houses are stocked and there are clothes for them to keep a low profile. I also have the submarine ready for emergencies. As for the ship, that is a ways off."
"No situation is perfect in the end. It will have to do. Naruto, let's go ruin somebody's day."

Wearing a black bodysuit, Lena stood in the center, as the armor was fitted upon her person. Naruto whistled as the armor was fitted upon her body, as she wore her helmet.
"That is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen."
Lena also looked at Naruto. He was wearing armor, an armor that she guessed was from a feudal era, and she still wondered in amazement how he could make it materialize out of thin air. He was also wearing a mask in the shape of a fox.
"Am I assume we are going to see Golden Mode?"
"Not now, and not at this time. It would draw too much attention to both of us. Besides, this will be enough for what we have planned. Now, let's go hunt some trash."

Naruto and Lena used the skies to mask their arrival, as Lena was astounded as to how Naruto manipulated his body's gravity to fly at high speeds like her in her armor. Naruto formed hand seals, as he used the Hiding in Mist Technique to blanket the warehouse and the surrounding area with a thick fog. And then, they sprang into action. This warehouse was located outside the city, hidden near a thick forest. It was the perfect location from where they could also mask their escape.
The guards were looking around wondering where this thick mist came from.
"I had no idea it would rain. The cameras…"
"Relax, its not like anyone knows where this place is. Our shift is almost done. Let's just focus on getting through the night."
Before the guard could respond to the other, a needle pierced his neck, dropping him in an unconscious state. The other guard was put in a sleeper hold, as Naruto moved throughout the area, knocking people out and putting them to sleep. The guards who were enjoying the peaceful night sky, had no idea that a burly, powerful man, would be knocking them out cold.
They were now standing at the entrance, flexing their muscles, ready for whatever was inside.
"Shall we?"
Naruto ran though hand seals, as he formed a gigantic dome of Earth, shielding the facility, creating an entrance to help the metahumans escape.
The front doors burst open, as Lena unleashed flash bombs, smoke bombs, as the guards screamed. The sounds of broken bones, flesh, blood spilling was heard throughout the facility, as Naruto sauntered over to a scientist. The scientist fell to the floor, as he pissed himself, seeing the visage of a demon.
"Don't worry, no one is dead. However, if you want to live, show us the cages. I will not ask again."
The scientist nodded, as he took them underground to where the cages were, containing the metahumans. Naruto knocked the scientist out cold, as he and Lena stared at the underground facility. There were large cages with metahumans inside, bearing the scars of torture. There were large tubes with grotesque creatures inside, and even operating tables.
Naruto grit his teeth. He had no idea what the main objectives of this prison were, but he was going to put a stop to this. He nodded at Lena, who pulled out her blade, and opened the latches, freeing the prisoners.
"Its okay, you are safe. You are safe now. I…, no, we will take you home."
The prisoners were apprehensive and anxious, but seeing that they did not have better options, chose to quietly follow. As they approached the way out, the doors opened and many armored guards rushed in, along with some sort of hulking, grotesque, creature, being restrained by chins. The guards had advanced weaponry on them, as Naruto narrowed her eyes.
"Lena, please take care of these intruders. I got the freak."
Lena nodded, as she ushered the prisoners to safety. The guards had opened fire, as Lena and Naruto took to the air.
Lena was eager to test her suit's capabilities in real combat, as she put away her blade. She unleashed frag and ice grenades that created some pretty explosions, as well as creating nice diversions. She tested her pistols, raining down bolts of energy, turning the facility into a place of carnage as explosions roared throughout the facility.
Lena had to admit, the thrill and the rush of battle was a welcoming change of pace, especially when she realized she was talking out scumbags who were complicit in what was going on here.
As for Naruto, he was lazily dodging the blows of the grotesque creature in front of him. Finally, tired of playing around, he grabbed the creature and suplexed hard, and kicked it away. As he decided upon the Rasengan for a finishing blow, the creature had tears coming down its eyes.
"Please…, please… end…, it."
Naruto was furious. Whoever was in charge of this facility, had allowed experimentation on innocent life, something that Naruto loathed and could not condone. He pulled out a kunai, and gave whatever was left of this individual, a mercy killing.
"Lena, let's go."
As they were all safely outside, Naruto looked at Lena. She shivered at his tone, and what he spoke next.
"I want this place blown to hell. I am not holding back, and neither should you."
Lena nodded, as she too was angered by what she saw. And this was the perfect time to test her new toy. Her rifle possessed an alternate firing mode, which would allow her to fire an extremely powerful projectile with a wide AOE damage output. It was costly to make this ammunition, but this would be the perfect message. Plus, the projectile could be fired at Mach Speed. She pulled out the projectile, and loaded it into her rifle, as she locked on to the facility.
Meanwhile Naruto soared through the air, and raised his hands. A loud screech filled the area, as Lena looked at Naruto, and her jaw dropped. Naruto was holding a dense, large ball of wind surrounded by screeching wind blades. The ball was so compressed and dense, that it radiated power. And the size of the ball was massive.
"On my mark, 3…2…1!"
Naruto fired off the Big Ball Rasenshuriken, as Lena fired her projectile at Mach Speed. The two attacks collided smack dab at the facility, as a pillar of energy was formed, creating a hellacious explosion that could be seen for miles. As Naruto and Lena were safe in the air, they let the storm of wind pass harmlessly by them, as the facility was reduced to a deep, smoking crater with all traces of this facility eradicated from existence.
"Mother, I fired the First Salvo. And don't worry; I am coming to destroy everything you stand for. I will destroy it, I will destroy it all."
