This chapter will be about Kara and Lena having their first official meeting, and Lillian having a face-to-face meeting with her benefactor. Without further ado, let us begin.

Chapter Fourteen- New Plans

It was the same recurring dream, no, it was like a nightmare for him. The great, catastrophic, and climactic battle that he and Satsuki fought against Kaguya in National City took a deep toll on the people of the city. Buildings were damaged and blown apart, the ground was cracked and broke, and corpses lay strewn all over the ground with bright, red rivers of blood flooding the streets.

And in his arms, in the aftermath of that chaotic fight, Naruto was holding and cradling a dead Uchiha Satsuki in his arms, as he held her and begged for her to get up. And then, to his absolute horror, Satsuki's dead face morphed into Lena's as the sky turned red and all he could hear was cruel laughter in the background.

He shot up out of bed, to see that it was nothing but a dream, a terrible dream. He saw Lena sleeping peacefully with a gentle smile on her face. He got up slowly as he quietly left their bedroom, sparing her one more glance before he left. He finished a session of training, and made himself breakfast, as he noticed the day would soon begin.

He was getting irritated by this dream. It took him much time to mourn Satsuki and move on from that, but the past was not letting him rest. If the same happened to Lena…, what would he do then? He was falling hard for Lena Luthor, and he could not lose another loved one. However, deep in his heart, Naruto knew one unequivocal truth. That no matter what, like Neji, he could not protect them all.

Deep in their private cabin on another glorious morning with the birds chirping, Lena awoke from a great night of sleep. She expected to feel Naruto's arms around and her and his soft kisses on her face and arms. However, as she opened her eyes, she did not find either of those things. She got up slowly and stretched gingerly, as she noticed a heavenly smell emanating from the small kitchen.

She noticed the man she grew to care for simply eating breakfast quietly as the atmosphere started to feel somber-like. The only time Lena noticed him to be this quiet was when he was paying respects at the Memorial Stone in National City. There was something on his mind, something that was eating him up on the inside. She took a seat opposite him, and hoped he could share what was on his mind.

"You know, in all the time we have spent together, in that bed of yours, I never fail to have your arms around me, and your kisses on my face. Is something wrong?"

Naruto continued to eat his breakfast with quiet purpose, ignoring what Lena said.

Lena narrowed her eyes as she reached for his hands, but he pulled his hands away, feeling like he was stung.

Lena was shocked at this. "Naru, have I…, have I done something to offend you, something to hurt you in any way?"

Naruto did not speak, and that hurt Lena deeply as her eyes started to water.

"I know I pushed my way into your life, and I know that me intruding in it was the last thing you counted on ever happening to you. I am sorry for being so nosy. However, from what we have been doing the past month, I thought we came to love each other. Shame on me, for thinking you are a good man. You just want to use me like my mother."

As Lena went to leave, Naruto pulled on her wrist, and simply held her as she gently sobbed in his arms. He hated himself in this moment for making her cry. She smacked his chest and slapped him gently, as he wiped the tears from her eyes and kissed her face and inhaled her gorgeous scent.

"Talk to me, Naruto, please…, talk to me. Don't ever shut me out, please."

Naruto sat her down on her chair, as he kneeling on the floor, his hands gently massaging her own as he kissed he kissed them. She waited with bated breath and anticipation to hear his answer.

"You have not done anything to hurt me, Lena. I would never use you and abandon you, ever. Its just…, Lena Luthor…, I love you so damn much."

She gasped at that. The words that she so longed to hear, she finally heard them from him, and it made her smile.

"That's a good thing, idiot."

Naruto laughed. "Yes, it is. However, I am afraid. I am afraid I will lose you. I lost one woman that I loved. I lost a woman who believed in me and understood me; a woman who would have fought the world to keep me safe, and travel with me to the ends of the Earth. That woman died before my time. I have failed to keep the people I care for safe. I just…, don't want to lose you either. I don't want to bury another loved one; I have done enough of that for a lifetime."

He was knocked to the floor, as Lena was on top of him, kissing him so deeply. It was a different kiss. It was a kiss that resembled a lover's, or a wife kissing her husband.

"You will never lose me…, idiot. I will never leave you. You are mine and I am yours, put that in your head. We will die one day together, but first we will live."

Naruto said nothing else as they resumed their make-out session. She made a pretty fine argument.

After this minor misunderstanding had been patched up, Lena decided to head to her old University to take a look at a rally that had been planned there. Apparently, her and Naruto's heroics had garnered much attention among the public. A month of raids and freeing metahumans and aliens had gotten the attention of those who were against the DEO, and those who had a sick hate for anything that was different. Lena was shocked that the University even allowed this rally to happen.

Lena wore black sweatpants and a black hoodie with a pair of thick sunglasses to keep her identity hidden. She stayed in the back, keeping a low profile to avoid any unwanted attention. She was sure her mother was now keeping a close eye on all her action ever since the past month.

"Stand up, ladies and gentleman. Stand up for what you believe, and tolerate injustice no more. The DEO, the government, they want you to believe that all aliens and metahumans are unrepentant individuals out to kill us all."

"I am standing here you to tell you that is not the case. If not for an alien, I would have burned to death in a building. If not for that alien, my family would be staring at my grave. There are good and bad individuals out there. The government wants you to think all of them are bad. That is not true. They have families and lives just like us. Please open your hearts and search for the truth."

This impassioned speech brought out a lot of applause, as she too clapped gently. It was good to see that her and Naruto's actions were changing things in some ways; baby steps always amounted to something much bigger in the long run.

As Lena went to leave, something caught her eye. It was a blonde-haired woman; a very pretty and fit blonde-haired woman. She was wearing thick, ugly glasses, and wearing clothes that looked like they belonged to someone else; they were too baggy. Plus, she was acting clumsy and walking with a sort of slouch.

However, seeing this blonde's face triggered something in her mind. She narrowed her eyes a bit further, as she walked closer. The closer, she walked; she realized that this woman was oddly familiar. As she got closer, the blonde gasped slightly, as she started to move away into the crowd of people who came to the rally.

At that point, it truly hit Lena Luthor. That blonde was her savior, the woman who not only saved her life but changed it forever. A golden opportunity had fallen into her lap, and she would take it.

She tried to navigate the crowd, and looked for her savior. She saw her standing there looking around wildly. She placed a hand on her shoulder, and the woman recoiled for a moment.

"I have been searching for you for a long time. I have to admit you had a lot of people fooled. You really have to think and look hard to find a person such as yourself."

The blonde woman was afraid now. "L-Look, I don't…"

"Relax, I am not here to hurt you. I just want to talk, and I want some answers. You did save my life, but you did take something from me by accident. At least, you could do me a courtesy and entertain some of my questions. We can talk wherever you feel comfortable. I am not taking no for an answer here."

The blonde woman, known as Kara Danvers, always dreaded this day. She dreaded the day that Lena Luthor would find her and ask her questions about that day. She could not put this off any longer. However, if this talk was on her turf, maybe she could control everything.

"There is a place that I know where we can talk. Let's get this over with."

"Good, my sentiments exactly."

"I am disappointed in you Lillian, I truly am."

Lillian Luthor prided herself on holding all the cards, of being the woman who could break anyone and intimidate whoever she wished. However, this handsome man sitting in front of her, in her private laboratory no less, made her feel weak and powerless. His speech was silky, yet it was poisonous and had the undercurrent of a threat hidden with it.

There was also a bodyguard with the man, a tall, intimidating African-American who looked like he could split her in two. Lillian cleared her throat and regained her bearings.

"Sir, I assure you, I am doing everything I can to rectify the situation."

"I see. So, all the facilities that have been raided for the past month, and all the individuals that have been freed, you call that rectifying?"

"Sir…, I…"

"What about the young woman I asked you to find? Or the Golden Man?"

"Sir…"

The atmosphere changed as the temperature of the room dropped a few degrees, and Lillian began to sweat for the first time.

"Lillian, I demand and expect results. I have given you everything you have asked for; money, resources, and time. And you have failed me, in every endeavor. There is a war coming, and I have given you everything you need to defeat this scum that is infecting humanity. Yet, you keep failing upward."

"Sir, I promise you that there will be no more mistakes here on out. I promise I will find them, and whoever is conducting these raids, there will be no more errors. I assure you of this, you have my word."

"I do hope so, Lillian. I can easily replace you. And, when we speak again, you better have something good to tell me. Or, you will not like our next conversation."

The man and his bodyguard left, as Lillian poured herself a drink to calm herself. She needed to move up the timetable. Perhaps, she needed to meet with her daughter again.

Club Fire, an interesting and disgusting establishment located in the back alleys of National City. It was a seedy, gentleman's club where men came to fulfill some of their desires. And deep below the club, was an underground fight club run by a Veronica Sinclair, where metahumans and aliens were used for sport.

The man who met Lillian was the owner of the club. He greeted Veronica before returning to his office. Inside his office, he was greeted by an unwelcome guest.

"You are not supposed to be here."

"He sent me to watch over you."

"LIES!"

"Lower you voice. You do not want unneeded attention."

The man turned to his bodyguard. "Leave us."

The bodyguard left, as the man took a seat. "What do you want hag?"

"I cannot understand why you run an establishment like this. It is a waste of time. You should be engaging in noble pursuits."

"Ah, you mean kidnapping women and turning them into weapons?"

"These women are a benefit to our master, and fight for him, and are loyal to him. Tell me something, what have you accomplished here? Oh, that's right, nothing."

"You cannot find one man, and you cannot find the girl. I am here to fix a problem that you cannot handle."

"I will find them! He will understand my worth once again!"

"You betrayed him! You betrayed the one who called you friend."

"I have seen my mistake. Why do you think I am here, on this backwater of a planet?"

"You and The Charging Bull, you still owe the great one this planet and many others. I am sure he will hear your plea, after you pay your debt. You can never escape him, traitor."

The old hag left, her laughter still remaining. The man had thrown a table against the wall, as the room cracked under his power.

"You will see, you all will see. I will return by your side once more. Everything is for you in the end, and everything belongs to you, my master."
