Chapter II
Command Bridge of the Gotengo, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
"Mind telling me what's going on?" Henry said unamusedly as he walked onto the bridge with a towel over his shoulders.
"We detected the sharks yesterday after Rodan killed Megaguirus," Jonathan Hudson explained. "We've known about the sperm whale, Ahab, for a while, and he was pretty quiet. We've never seen the orca before."
"Why didn't you warn the state?"
"We tried," Stanton replied. "They were too concerned with publicity and income."
"Typical of local governments." Henry looked out the glass and saw Ahab wrestling with the megalodon Titan. The whale's long teeth cut relentlessly into the shark's skin, and was causing it visible pain.
"What do we call them?" Henry asked.
"We have some names up for suggestion." Jon looked out beside him. "We're thinking of naming the meg Carcharodon, the thresher Alopias, the hammerhead Sphyrox, and the whale Cetus."
Ahab rammed his large head into Carcharodon's stomach, causing the shark Titan to vomit. Ahab then unleashed an ungodly screech through the half-digested remains of gray whales, the waves traveling directly to Carcharodon's ears.
Alopias tried to swim in to attack Ahab, but Cetus swam in quickly and slapped his paddle-like tail against the shark's head. The shark growled in pain, before turning to attack the orca. Cetus whipped his tail downwards to create a powerful wave of seawater, before turning around to attack a dazed Alopias.
Sphyrox, however, had different plans. Using his wide head, he rammed into the orca and started to push him away from the fight. Cetus whipped his tail again to swim away from the hammerhead Titan. With his teeth, he bite at the shark's tail and tried to wrestle through the scales, but his teeth were gaining more damage than they were dealing.
Seeing his lack of progress, Cetus left Sphyrox and instead went after Alopias, who was going after the retreating ships. With a slap of his thick skull, Cetus threw Alopias out of the water, much to the amusement of the human onlookers.
When the thresher returned to the water, Cetus tore his teeth through the shark's skin and tore out his liver, like his smaller counterparts. The blood from the open wound drew out another Titan, one that Ahab had a deadly rivalry with.
The sperm whale fought the megalodon with unbridled rage. Many millennia ago, Ahab fought a much younger version of Carcharodon, one that wasn't a Titan. The two had fought for a long time, until Ahab decided that Carcharodon wasn't worth it, and left. The megalodon, however, had managed to ingest a few cells, and they had imparted their DNA to his own, turning him into a Titan.
Now, Ahab had a much stronger opponent, as Carcharodon's skin had thickened tremendously, and his cartilaginous skeleton was replaced by bones. Still, Ahab was much more powerful than the meg, and if the shark still managed to overpower him, he had a friend to help him.
Finally, Alopias' blood reached Carcharodon's nostrils. He turned to see his fallen comrade starting to sink, and fueled by pure anger, the meg rushed Cetus and slammed into him. The sheer force of the impact nearly made Cetus vomit, but the orca was strong, and managed to fight the shark off long enough to escape by jumping out of the water.
When Cetus returned to the sea, he saw a shape rising from the dark. A long tentacle stretched out towards Alopias' motionless body, before dragging it to a central mass.
The newcomer was a familiar creature, one that was born of the ocean. It looked like a giant squid, but it's upper head was covered by a pure titanium corkscrew shell. Under it's shell, three pairs of crustacean limbs acted as legs when traversing the sea floor, and also as cutting knives when eating.
Kraken clutched the dying shark in it's arms and began to eat, tearing at it's flesh with it's beak and legs. Carcharodon tried to save it's friend, but Kraken used it's tentacles to slap the megalodon away. The shark was angry that it had no way to save it's friend.
However, there was one Titan that Ahab hated more than the sharks, and it was the Kraken.
Ahab preceded the attacked with a sonic screech that momentarily stunned Kraken. The squid's hold on Alopias loosened, and Ahab used this opportunity to grab Kraken by the shell. The whale swam with the squid between his jaws, and slammed it against a seawall. The shell cracked a little, but Kraken was otherwise unharmed.
The squid came to his senses and wrapped one of his tentacles around Ahab's head. Kraken coiled it tightly and followed it up with the other tentacle around Ahab's midsection. The pressure of the coiling tentacles was unpleasant, but Ahab was built to withstand extreme pressure. Using his flippers, he did a barrel roll before slapping Kraken with his tail.
The squid tried to wrap his tentacles around Ahab again, but the whale was faster and backed off, before swooping back in and grabbing both of the cephalopod's tentacles in his mouth. Kraken screamed as Ahab took him for a ride, swimming past a concrete structure that the squid slammed into. Ahab felt the tension on the tentacles slacken, and slurped them down as he turned around to face Kraken again.
Now without his best weapons, Kraken was reduced to biting and slashing, and those were difficult to fight with against a Titan as agile as Ahab. Seeing his inevitable defeat, the cephalopod squirted a cloud of black ink before retreating to the darkness of the Cape.
Ahab, however, wasn't going to go halfway.
With a flick of his tail, Ahab practically flew into the dark abyss. While Kraken had large eyes to help him see, Ahab had two pairs of eyes that together made up the same mass as the squid's.
Ahab quickly found Kraken and grabbed it by it's fleshy head. Ahab then began to drag it along the seawall, slowly tearing the shell of until it completely came off.
Without protection, Kraken was now a simple mass of flesh with arms, a beak, and two mismatching eyes.
Ahab aligned Kraken in his mouth and swallowed him down. Now, the Terror of the Deep was gone, devoured by the White Whale.
When Ahab returned to where Cetus and the sharks were, Sphyrox and Carcharodon were helping Alopias stay afloat. His oily liver normally served to aid in buoyancy, but with the absence of said organ, Alopias needed help.
Understanding that he wouldn't be winning today, Carcharodon lead Sphyrox out of the Cape, with Alopias on the hammerhead's back.
Cetus swam up to the surface. Everyone on the retreating boats cheered for him and Ahab. Cetus loved the attention, but he wanted Ahab to bask in it too.
The sperm whale just swam to the surface and began to swim away. His harpoon-laden hide made the crowds gasp, reminding them of the atrocities that their ancestors had done to not only Ahab, but his brethren as well.
