First a thanks to all the new favs and follows. Special shoutout to Canuckle, Luther, and Crypto3 for the awesome (and motivating) reviews. You keep reviewing and I promise I'll keep posting.

One of the fun parts of this work is a chance for me to bend some rules and bring in some of my favorite characters. You've already noticed and met our fav empath Raven (Teen Titans). Last chapter we got to meet Zaheer (LoK) and Sadisme (aka Jane from Twilight and all her sadistic goodness) and Suloyak (huge bonus points to whoever can tell me where I pulled her character from ... hint its a book series). I'm gonna keep bringing new characters in so keep watch and if you have any ideas feel free to share.

"You went and messed up good Stray," Creed paced slowly around Kara, the young pantheress staring straight ahead, his tone calm ... almost soothing, "Messing with Zaheer and runnin' away ... that I can understand. Kill a couple people and get on SHIELD and basically every other assholes radar? I'd forgive ya. Hell I'd probably help cause a lil mayhem and clean up the mess. But you did the one thing I told ya never to do Stray ... the one rule I ever gave ya."

"I didn't -" Kara wouldn't let him see it. She had promised herself years ago she'd never let him know.

"Cause you know it isn't that you ran away."

She'd never let him know she was afraid. No matter what he did.

"It's that you ran away from me!" Creed's roar thundered across the darkened snow covered expanse but to Kara it felt like an impossible weight fell on her.

Kara fought the feeling but she just ... couldn't. It was the roar, the way he stood over her and bared down ... that look in his eyes. Kara shook from the effort but it never mattered ... it always ended up the same way.

Creed standing over her and Kara on all fours with her head pressed to the ground. Creed never had to touch her. Kara knew she could fight anyone ... anything. But not him. Instead he leaned down closer to the flattened and shaking pantheress.

"Ran away from me. Your daddy. Your alpha." Creed harshly whispered into Kara's ears as she screwed her eyes closed.

She wished he'd hit her. Fight her. At least then she could tell herself she fought back. Resisted. But this ... this was worse. She felt powerless. Helpless. All she managed out was a chocked rumble earning a snarl from Creed as he pushed himself back to his feet and when he finally turned Kara took a shaky breath.

"Now look what you made me do," Creed sounded truly upset as Kara struggled to her knees unable to look Sabertooth in the eye, "but I did warn you. A father needs to protect his kid and what I do - everythin' I do is just to keep you safe." Creed's tone sounded sincere. It's what made it hurt Kara even more to know he was lying. He didn't care about her ... no one did.

"N - not safe. Prisoner." Kara spat out, bracing herself to get to her feet when suddenly Creed was on her again with another massive roar ... something deeper and louder than anything Kara could manage and as if pushed Kara was back on the ground, her ears flat and head turned just slightly to the side. Sabertooth kept his position bared over the smaller feral until he smirked, clearly relishing in the simple dominance.

"You ain' a prisoner Stray. Or did you forget?" Creed squatted down over the still flat feline and put his hand on Kara's head, slowly pushing it even further down into the earth, "Alpha's make the rules."

Kara let out a breath she hadn't meant to be holding as Creed backed off as she squeezed her eyes shut in frustration. She hated being here. She hated him. Hated. Logan would find her and take her back. Logan would promised. 'Logan -'

"What did you say?" Creed had been saying something but came up short, his brow suddenly furrowed as he looked back at Kara on the ground like she'd just slapped him.

"I - I didn't say -" Creed rushed her with a snarl and Kara finally got her wish ... he attacked. Kara roared right back and rolled using her agility and speed to evade the much larger feral and slashed at his legs, aiming to slice tendon and achilles. With another snarl Creed dropped to a knee and Kara pounced onto his back, taking a bite out of his shoulder for good measure. But even taking Creed down to her level didn't make him less dangerous and grabbing Kara from his back, Sabertooth hooked his claws and slammed her over his head and into the ground. Kara managed to spin away from the fist aimed for her head but not the backfist to her midsection that sent her sprawling. With a dominant snarl Creed pounced and slammed his fists down again ... and again.

Sabertooth took a few breaths as he quickly healed, still seething, before pulling the groaning Kara off her feet by the fur at the back of her neck.

"That name ... who the hell told ya that name?" Sabertooth hissed through clenched canines, his eyes narrowing as he brought Kara close, the pressure he could exude over her forcing Kara to look away as he took a few good sniffs.

"That smug, crafty warrior monk bastard ... that's why he wouldn' tell me where you were." Creed glared at the compound behind Kara for a moment before sliding his eyes back to his daughter, "so you and the Runt been spendin' some time together huh?"

"Who?" Kara had her claws sunk into Sabertooth's arm but he didn't even notice. Creed snarled and slammed Kara back to the ground.

This time she didn't get back up. But Creed didn't seem to notice as he paced and loudly cursed for Zaheer to show his face.

"Are you done?"

Sabertooth paused his ranting long enough to take in the young woman before going back to seething ... though this time silently. Beautiful Dreamer had appeared from the front gates and careful to keep an eye on Sabertooth made her way over to the now slowly recovering but still unconscious pantheress. Dreamer was in her early 20's, short with a slight build, black hair and wide playful grey eyes with heavy lids, dressed in faded jeans, sneakers, and a fur hooded coat. She barely made it to Creed's chest but he gave her a wide berth.

She knelt down and inspected Kara with a critical but disinterested eye.

"Zaheer isn't going to be happy. He told you after the last time you left her like this that -"

"Your boss has got other things to answer for. Besides ... ain' like she gonna remember it." Creed dismissed her.

"You know that's not how it works Sabertooth. I can alter her memory but some things stick around." Dreamer scolded before looking back at the dark feral gently took her by the shoulders.

"C'mon kid ... c'mon open your eyes." Dreamer cooed, as Kara struggled to roll away, "shhh it's OK. I can make it better."

Kara didn't know why but she didn't want to listen. She just wanted to get away.

"I'll make it all better kitten. Just open your eyes." she soothed and Kara finally looked up at Dreamer who smiled down at her for a moment before gently blowing a soft pink cloud that covered the young feral's face. Kara seemed to try shaking the smoke away for a few seconds before her eyes rolled back and before relaxing and going still. Her breathing evened out and just like that ... she was asleep.

"What'd ya do this time?" Creed eyed Kara like a prized item that Beautiful Dreamer might have scratched. Dreamer for her part laid Kara back down and wiped her hands clean on her jeans.

"Zaheer wanted to make sure her little trip is remembered the right way. In case any X-Men come looking." Dreamer shrugged, her power to alter, remove, or even insert memories something Creed had seen used in a variety of ways first hand.

"You touch anythin' to do with me? Kid's mine after all." Creed growled and Dreamer took a step back towards the compound.

"I do whatever Zaheer asks me to do. Take it up with him. Besides ... certain kinds of pain never really leave our memories. Trust me ... I've tried." Dreamer tossed over her shoulder as she moved to head back inside. Place was damn near freezing. But no one ever listened to her ideas of where to go. But she came up short as suddenly Creed's huge, clawed hand was on her arm.

"Why you leavin' so fast? You interrupted after all. Least you could do is make it up to me." Creed purred and suddenly Dreamer wasn't so calm.

"L - let me go Sabertooth," but Creed just smiled and pulled her closer, "I said let me go!" and Dreamer took a deep breath but Creed had his other hand around her throat before she could exhale.

"Now now ... none of that. Let's just - jus - " Creed stumbled back, his hands going around his own throat now, suddenly gasping. Dreamer didn't bother waiting and sprinted inside without looking back.

"You were warned to keep your hands to yourself, Sabertooth." Zaheer came from around one of the walls of the compound, his hand slowly rotating as a ball of air swirled around Creed's head. Creed's eyes slowly beginning to bulge.

"Your presence is only permitted due to our mutual benefactor. I do not owe you any explanations for my plans. Your claim to the pantheress is purely out of respect from his request. But do not mistake my respect for permission to do as you please," Creed tried getting to his feet to lunge at Zaheer but instead fell to his back and struggled, "How do you fight against the wind Sabertooth? Remember that next time you want to put a claw on one of my people. You will find no sheep here ... only wolves."

Zaheer let his hand drop and Sabertooth gasped for air. Seeming to ignore the recovering feral completely, Zaheer hoisted the unconscious Kara over his shoulder and crossed the line into the compound.

Creed managed to roll back to his feet in time to see the few pops of light appear across the compound before suddenly ... it was gone.

Logan was on the road the next morning and his plan was simple:

Find Kara

Bring her home

Kill Zaheer and his collective group of assholes

He wasn't particular in the order. The only problem was how.

Xavier and the rest had openly questioned the 'why?' Why was Kara so special ... Why did a mutant terrorist group want her ... Why did they come looking for her?

But Logan didn't care about the why. He'd made a promise and he intended to keep it.

Logan was gonna bring the girl home.

"That asshole burnt his fingerprints into the girl's bone Chuck. The bone. I'm gettin' her back." Was the last thing he'd growled at Xavier before he'd left. But not the last person he spoke to.

"What the hell you all think you're doin'?" Logan had left Xavier to find Raven, Kitty, Mako, Rogue, Kurt, Jason, and Remy waiting for him by his bike.

"What does it look like? We're coming with you to get Kara back." Mako stood as tall as he could ... which honestly wasn't much more than Logan at this point. Logan looked over at Remy and Jason to see how serious this was and the pair gave him a shrug.

"You told us to look out for the féline. Really think we want you holdin' that over us for the res' of our lives." Remy answered while Jason muttered, 'multiple lives.'

"Forget it. Wasn' any of yer faults. If anythin' it was mine. Now I'm gonna go get her back." It took another few minutes of yelling - and some tears from Kitty - before Logan got the lot to get outta of his way and get his bike down the driveway and on the snow whipped road. But Logan only got a few miles before sighing and pulling off to the side, the woods banking each side of the road.

"C'mon Rahne. Don' make me come in there after ya." Logan grunted and he didn't have to wait long before the large tawny wolf padded towards him. Rahne phased to human as she finally got close though there was still something distinctly canine in the way she held her head down and away from Logan.

"It's not fair." Rahne growled, her anger and sadness mixed together.

"I know. But this ain' a hunt you're ready for yet kid." Logan's tone was soft but as Rahne opened her mouth to argue Logan's look hardened and he held up a hand, "you're not comin'. But that doesn' mean you can' help your friend. I know Kara was runnin' perimeter at nights. Think that's somethin' you can do till we get back?"

Rahne was old enough and smart enough to know that Logan was just trying to get rid of her. Send her back home. But deep down ... she knew he was right. Besides, if Kara wasn't there to watch over the school ... she could be.

"Just till you both come back." Rahne nodded.

"That'a girl." Logan nodded and briefly bumping foreheads with the once again wolven Rahne, the two headed in their own direction.
