Chapter I

Hawkins, Oregon

"Will!" Mike yelled.

"Will!" Lucas followed.

"Come on, Will!" Dustin shouted.

Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, and Dustin Henderson were members of the AV Club, and their friend, Will Byers, was missing. He had left to go home, but he never got there. He was nowhere to be found.

The Sheriff and his deputies had tried to find him. Everyone had tried to find him. Now, it was their turn to look for him.

"Will, c'mon!" Dustin said. "I've got an issue of Star Trek right here for you!"

"Will!" Lucas yelled. "Everyone's been looking for you, man! Where are you?"

"Who's Will?"

The trio turned to see a girl, about their age. She was dressed in a hospital gown, and her hair was buzz-cut.

She didn't shock them as much as the creature behind her did.

It was a reptile, about seven feet tall, with large eyes and a relatively short tail. The most shocking part about it was it's striking resemblance to Godzilla.

"Who are you?" Lucas asked, taking on his role as the bravest boy in the group.

The girl didn't respond, and the lizard didn't move.

"What is your name?" Mike asked. "We're not gonna hurt you, I promise."

"Promise?" she asked, evidently not knowing what the word meant.

"Yeah, promise. It's when you say you'll do something, and no matter what happens, you cannot break it. So, I promise that we will not hurt you."

"Nice job, Mike," Dustin quietly cheered.

The girl was still for a moment, before holding her arm up. On her forearm was a number: 011.

"My name," she said.

"Eleven?" Lucas inquired. "Oh, great."

"What about him?" Mike asked, gesturing to the giant lizard behind her. "What's his name?"

Eleven turned to the lizard for a moment. The two shared a look, before she turned back to the boys.

"Minya," she answered.

"OK," Mike said. "I'm Mike, this is Lucas, and he's Dustin."

Eleven looked at each of them as they were introduced. Minya seemed to understand, even though he probably wasn't able to speak their language.

"OK, now about Will," Lucas said. "Do you know where he is?"

"Will?" she asked.

"Yeah, Will," Dustin replied. "He's our friend. Y'know, someone you share with."

"Someone you care about," Mike added.

"And someone you never, ever lie to," Lucas finished.

Eleven seemed to get what they were saying, but Minya appeared to be confused. No surprise there. He was just an animal.

They were interrupted by the rumbling of an approaching Titan. The group looked up to see Titanosaurus approaching the town.

"Run!" Mike yelled.

Titanosaurus waded through the thick forest as he looked for the town that Tiamat had intended to destroy. He relished in their destruction, like she did, and wasn't surprised when she defied Godzilla.

However, now he was going to face the consequences of siding with her.

A massive tail smacked into his head. He roared as he was knocked off-balance.

Godzilla's brow furrowed in anger as he lowered his tail. He had originally intended to fight Tiamat, but she was too fast for him, so he had to make do with her partner.

Titanosaurus stood upright and growled angrily, ready to fight the King. Godzilla growled in kind, adjusting his stance to be prepared for the battle.

Titanosaurus delivered the first blow, ramming into Godzilla's body head-on. Godzilla was far too heavy for even the spinosaurid Titan, who was significantly bigger than him, to move. The King simply pushed back and threw him to the ground.

The aquatic Titan used this opportunity to slap Godzilla in the face with his fish-like tail fin. Godzilla used the momentum to spin around and smack Titanosaurus with his tail again.

The larger Titan roared angrily and tried to get a bite off on Godzilla, but a burst of atomic energy stopped him short.

The King stood above Titanosaurus, his posture straight to display his dominant status. If Titanosaurus knew what was good for him, he would accept Godzilla as his Alpha.

The group watched as the battle played out. The boys were doing their best not to nerd out over the entire thing, while Eleven and Minya were terrified of the entire thing.

"Oh, my God!" Mike finally said. "That was awesome! I never thought I'd see the Atomic Breath in person!"

"I know!" Dustin yelled. "The whole thing with the tail was just... Rrrrrrgh, I want to see more!"

"Aw, man!" Lucas groaned. "They're leaving!"

Indeed they were. Titanosaurus quickly scampered away, while Godzilla walked back to the ocean.

"Oh, c'mon!" Dustin complained. "It was just getting good!"

"Uh, guys," Mike interjected, "in our moment of extreme nerdiness, we forgot about something."

His thumb pointed to the girl and her lizard friend.

"Ah, shit."
