KellHound270's Work

\_|_/

Note: You guys were wondering about the Mind Flayer being a Titan. I'll tell you right now, it won't be classified as a Titan, due to it's radically different chemistry and composition. Instead, it will be classified as the Japanese term for 'strange beast.'

Also, the Mechas will be in the storyline, but they won't show up until Phase 2. I'll give you a little preview; they will be involved in a major conflict between the Titans and an extremist organization.

M.O.G.U.E.R.A., however, will show up in Rivalry, and MechaGodzilla will be in two stories before the end of Phase 1.

Enjoy, and please R&R!

Chapter V

Secret Laboratory

"What do you mean that the door to the building opened?" Brenner asked.

"Just that, sir," the engineer replied. "I reviewed the footage of the probe, and the door somehow opened without anything pushing or pulling it."

Brenner looked at the footage that the engineer recorded, and it showed exactly what he thought. The door opened suddenly, before being shut again ten minutes later.

"What happened?" Brenner asked.

"I don't know," the engineer replied.

"Sir," one of the guards said, appearing in the doorway. "The chief of police is here. He wants to talk to you."

Chief Jim Hopper sat in the interview room, though it looked more like a solitary confinement cell. Before long, a scientist with silvery white hair entered through the door.

"Hello, Chief," he greeted. "I'm Dr. Brenner. What brings you here?"

"This."

Hopper handed Brenner a photograph of a old, worn-down stone building. An archaeologist would initially assume it was a crypt, but there were no graves around it, and there was no church on top.

"What about it?" Brenner asked.

"This building was not here two days ago, when we conducted a search for a missing child," Hopper replied. "The age of the building is too old to be recently built, and the size of it requires at least a week of construction."

"So why did you come here?"

"You claim to be a power plant, but you're off the grid. Completely. And what power plant doesn't have at least some connection to the grid?"

Brenner sighed. This was a good sign to Hopper, as the scientist had no arguments against him.

"Look, I can't tell you anything without consulting with my peers," Brenner finally said. "The answers will attract the wrong kind of attention, and the public may panic over this."

Hopper groaned in disappointment. It made sense, but he needed answers to progress his investigation.

"Alright, I'll give you time to talk to your peers," he said. "I need the sleep, anyway."

After the usual pleasantries, Hopper left the building and walked to his truck. He didn't realize that a group of guards were following him,

until a loud screeching was heard.

Hopper whipped his head back to see the group of guards being slaughtered by a tall humanoid creature. It's flower-like mouth opened to swallow a man's head whole, and it's hooked claws sliced through another man's chest.

Hopper immediately ran to his truck and drove away. When he looked back, the monster was walking to the building.

"Holy shit."
