Chapter II
Thanos placed the yellow Mind Stone in his gauntlet. The power of all six Stones surged through his body, making him yell with the intense feeling. He held up the gauntleted hand and was about to snap his fingers.
A mouth closed over him and held him tight. However, it wasn't actually a mouth; in fact, it was a complex sensory organ that Mokele-Mbembe used to navigate.
The pachyderm Titan hoisted his trunk up and flung Thanos toward Anubis, who caught the Mad Titan in his jaws and shook his head violently. Thanos pried open the wolf's jaws and leaped out, only for Sekhmet to catch him in her leg-covered body.
She crushed him in her coils and reached her head in to devour him, but he used the power of the Space Stone to phase through her. He once again had the opportunity to snap his fingers, but someone else didn't have a turn.
Bast ran full speed toward him and snapped him up. Her teeth acted as a prison for the Mad Titan, but he was unfazed and shot a burst of energy from the Power Stone to free himself. Finally, he had his chance.
Until an ethereal axe plunged itself into his chest.
Thor landed in front of Thanos and walked up to him. He grasped the head of Stormbreaker and held his other hand behind the Titan's head.
"I told you..." he growled, "that you would die for that."
He pushed the axe further into Thanos' chest. The Mad Titan yelled in pain, before his voice became harsh whispers.
"You..." he muttered, "you... should have gone for the head."
Thanos raised the gauntlet and snapped his fingers.
"No!" Thor yelled.
But it was too late.
Monarch Base, Boston, Massachusetts
Mark and Andrew walked through the base. They were still looking for Madison.
"Dad?" Andrew said. "I'm not feeling too good."
"What's the matter, son?" Mark replied, turning to see an odd sight.
Andrew was falling apart, turning into ash.
"Andrew!"
Monarch Base of Operations, Monster Island
The personnel of the Monarch base were rather calm. Everything was quiet. At least, until Barnes noticed something odd.
"Guys?" he said, "You're falling apart."
Indeed they were. Their bodies were being reduced to ash by an unseen force. Within minutes, all the soldiers of G-Team, except for Barnes, had disappeared.
All over the world, people were disappearing. It did not stop until the population of the Earth had been cut precisely in half.
A few days after this event took place, Godzilla stood at the shore of Monster Island. Bast rose from the water and growled, telling her King all that had happened in Wakanda.
Godzilla frowned, and realized something. The human population of the Earth was being decimated at an unnatural rate. It didn't take long for him to realize what the cause was.
The King lifted his head and roared at the heavens. Then and there, he swore vengeance on the creature that dared to offset the balance of Nature.
Given half the chance, he would kill Thanos, come hell or high water.
