Ollie and Sam successfully grabbed their clothes from the robotics lab. In the alleyway, they changed into their normal clothes and joined back with their classmates. Brittany and Charlie talked about how they missed the new superheroes.
"Where did you guys go anyway?" Brittany asked.
"We were trapped in the school for a bit. We only just got out." Ollie explained.
"Well why didn't you guys just meet up with the Mario Brothers?" asked Charlie.
"We just wanted to be safe." Sam quickly said. Brittany gave Sam a look.
"Well they're letting us go back home so they can clean up the school. You guys wanna hang out?" asked Charlie.
"We were gonna go and work on some stuff actually." Ollie responded.
"Seriously? How can you even think of work right now?!" Brittany exclaimed, "Come on! We haven't hung out in a hot minute." Ollie looked at Sam. Sam shrugged.
"If you wanna hang out with them I'm not gonna hold you back." Sam said.
"I need to work on some stuff and I need your help." said Ollie. Sam gave a thumbs up. Brittany crossed her arms.
"How come you never ask us to help you out with your projects?" she asked with a tone. She also raised an eyebrow. Charlie looked away not wanting to start drama in front of everyone.
"I'm gonna take a rain check on that anwer." Ollie rebutled. Brittany gasped. He and Sam began walking to Sam's car but Brittany grabbed his hand. "I'll meet you at the car." Ollie spoke to Sam. Sam nodded and kept walking.
"Ollie, what's up? You been hanging out with her an awful lot. Do you like her?"
"No, I do not have romantic feelings for Sam. You're being dramatic." Ollie explained. He pulled away from Brittany and went meet Sam at her car. Brittany felt hurt. She turned to Charlie with sadness in her eyes and pouty lips. Charlie shrugged.
"You have something in your hair." Brittany pointed out. She walked up to Charlie and pulled a piece of fuzz out of his thick frohawk.
Ollie got in the passenger seat of Sam's car. As he buckled his seatbelt he noticed Sam looking at him weird.
"What?"
"I don't wanna take you away from your friends." Sam said.
"What? Brittany and Charlie? They'll be fine."
"Are you sure? I didn't mean to ruin a dynamic." Sam went on further.
"I promise you, you didn't do anything wrong. Besides, we're partners. So we're gonna be hanging out a lot." Ollie reassured. Sam turned to look out the windshield. She started the car and quietly said "Okay." She pulled out of the parking space and headed for the factory.
"Rob turn on the lights," said Ollie. The lights turned on.
"So. You said that making different elemental pikbots was more trouble. Why is that?" asked Sam.
"Well, how can I make the red ones spew out fire?" Ollie questioned, "Wouldn't I have to fill up each one with gasoline?"
"Hmm. Maybe not make them spew fire." Sam said. The two of them walked to the office where Rob scanned blueprints. "Maybe you can make them gradually get hotter on command?"
"Maybe. It would take some coding, but I think I could make it work." Ollie reassured. "What about blue?"
"Not sure," said Sam. Ollie gave it some more thought.
"I mean, when am I gonna need like, water on command?" Ollie questioned.
"Fair point." Sam replied. Ollie took a seat in one of the office chairs. Sam noticed that Ollie looked a little glum. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Just thinking of all the work I'm gonna need to do." Ollie said, "You have it way easier than me because you just have a power suit." Ollie said. Sam came and sat down in one of the office chairs next to Ollie. "I don't know, it's just a lot." Sam felt for Ollie. She gave him a pat on his shoulder. Sam heard her phone buzz. She checked it to see it was an urgent text from her mom.
"Mom wants me home. I guess I'm going to go." said Sam.
"Alright, I'll stay here and work," said Ollie.
"Are you sure? I can bring you back." Sam asked.
"Nah. I need to work on stuff." Ollie responded. He was still pretty glum. Sam gave Ollie a fist bump and headed to her car. Ollie leaned his head back in the chair and closed his eyes. It was obvious that he was tired from the events from today. Nevertheless, he was determined to work. He got up from the chair and went to look around to see if he could find any blueprint paper. He left the room and went and searched the break rooms. He ended up in the boss office. The room felt very professional and had a seventies vibe. Straight in front of Ollie was the finely crafted wooden desk that was covered in dust. In front of the desk were two brown leather low sitting seats. Behind the desk was a bookshelf with an assortment of books on the shelves. Ollie was curious and went in closer to see. Turns out, it was old manuals on how to work the ROBS. Ollie sighed and turned around to dig in the desk. He opened one of the big drawers to find a whole stack of blueprint paper. Ollie grabbed the stack and felt it. It felt old but sturdy. He shrugged and went back to Rob. He sat back in the seat and began brainstorming ideas.
"Okay. I need to rethink everything. During the toad fight I was using them mostly as weapons. But the main idea was to control them with my mind. But after being in this fight with Peachette or whatever that thing called herself, I'm thinking that mind controlling them won't be as effective because I have the ability to lose focus. And if I lose focus, I'll be as good as dead." Ollie explained to himself. He grabbed the sides of his head and began tapping his foot very fast. Rob noticed Ollie thinking hard.
"Pardon me Ollie," said Rob. Ollie looked up at him.
"Yes Rob, you have my attention." Ollie responded.
"Instead of mind controlling them, why not give them an AI like mine?" Rob suggested.
"Oh Rob, that, that actually isn't a bad idea." said Ollie. He quickly put down the blueprint papers and rushed over to Rob. "Can I see your code?!" Rob brought up his code on one of the computers. Ollie began to look over it. "Wow, your programming is complex. But I can learn a lot from this." said Ollie, "If I give the pikmin. Pikmin? Why did I just call them that? Anyway, if I give the pikbots an artificial intelligence, then instead of mind control, I can just tell them what to do with say I don't know, a push of a button. That would allow me to control them a lot smoother!" Ollie then exclaimed. He went and grabbed his duffle bag and exited the factory. Rob turned off the lights.
SAM'S HOUSE
Sam walked into her house to see her mom standing at the door with her arms crossed. She looked very upset.
"What the hell happened today?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" Sam asked. Her mom pointed to the tv that was on the news. The news was showing footage of Mario, Luigi, Sam and Ollie on the screen greeting the public after defeating Peachette. Sam marveled that her and Ollie were on the news in their super hero gear. She looked back at her mom who was quite upset.
"Yeah there was another toad outbreak. Luckily, Mr. Mario and Luigi were there." explained Sam.
"Come closer." Sam's mom said. Sam got closer to her mom. Her mom put her hands on Sam's shoulders and examined her face that had bruises from the Peachette fight. "Look at your face. Are you okay?"
"Mom, I'm fine." Sam said, she pulled away from her mom and went to sit on the living room couch. Her mom went and sat on the love seat next to the couch.
"I have to ask. It seems like everyday something terrible is happening at the school where you can get hurt." Her mom vented, "And I especially don't like how you're in constant danger."
"I'm not always in constant danger mom." Sam said.
"Well it doesn't seem that way to me! her mom exclaimed. She put her face into her hands and sighed. "Honey, I think you should go back to City High. It'll be a lot safer." This made Sam mad.
"I can't just go back! I worked my ass off to get into this school!" Sam exclaimed.
"Watch your voice young lady. You may be smarter than me in certain areas but I'm still your mother." Sam's mom sternly said. Sam attempted to calm herself down. "I just don't like how you're in constant danger going to that school. I don't want you to get hurt or worse killed and I could've done something to stop it." Tears began to well up in her eyes. Sam didn't like seeing her mother sad. She got off of the couch, got close to her mom on her knees and hugged her tight. Her mom returned the hug.
"I'll be okay mom. I promise." Sam reassured.
"I already lost your dad to science. I don't need to lose you to it as well." her mom stated, "You're all I have left of him."
"I know mom. You just have to trust me. I know what I'm doing." Sam let go of her mom and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Okay. I'm going to trust you, but if dangerous things happen like this again, I need you to at least tell me that you're going to be okay." Her mom explained. Sam nodded in agreement. "Come on. Let me clean up your bruises." The girls got up and headed to the hallway bathroom.
PEACH AND DAISY'S HOUSE
Daisy got back to the house around 3:45. She entered through the front door and tossed her backpack next to the tall coat rack on the right side of the door. Daisy was about to go to her room when she heard a knocking. She was confused by the noise as she thought she was the only one in the house. She walked into the hallway from the front door to try and find the knocking. She passed the hallway bathroom slowly and as she got to Peach's lab she heard the knocking get a little louder. She opened the door and walked down the stairs into the lab. Now the knocking was as loud as ever. Daisy traced the knocking to the lab closet and opened it; Peach fell out, tied up with tape on her mouth and only in a sports bra and underwear. Her face was bruised from the beating by Peachette and she had a black eye. Daisy was shocked to see her sister in this state and quickly scrambled to untie her.
"Peach?! Why were you in there?! How were you in there?! I saw you walk out the door with me this morning!" exclaimed Daisy as she untied her sister. The rope loosened and Daisy sat Peach up. She then slowly pulled the tape off of Peach's mouth; her lips were a bit bloody.
"I was this close to perfecting my toads. I made a crown to control them on a frequency. But then one of them put the crown on and it turned into a clone of me. I fucked it up again." Peach tiringly explained. Tears welled up in her eyes. She leaned on Daisy's chest and began to sob. Daisy hugged her tight.
"Oh Peach, I'm so sorry." Daisy said consoling her sister. Peach cried even harder.
"Daisy, I think I need to go to City High. Science isn't working out." said Peach. Daisy brushed her bright blonde hair out of her face.
"You know, I think that's for the best too." Daisy said. She hugged her sister tight as Peach continued to cry. "Going to City High will be good as a breath of fresh air for you."
"It'll be less life threatening too." said Peach. Daisy smiled. She helped her sister out of her lab and brought her to the hallway bathroom to help clean up her face. The two then went into the kitchen. Peach grabbed an ice pack from the freezer and placed it on her eye. It was cold but it helped ease the pain. Daisy was on her phone checking the news and reading up about what happened at NDCS.
"New Donk has super heroes now?" Daisy questioned. Peach overheard and went over to Daisy. She was reading the New Donk Gazette which reported on Ollie and Sam with the Mario Bros.
"Christ. That clone of me was trying to take over the city." Peach said, sorrow in her voice. She felt bad that what she created could've caused citywide destruction. Suddenly, the girl's dad bursted through the kitchen screen door in a frantic panic. He looked at Peach and quickly grabbed her and hugged her tight. Peach handed Daisy the ice pack and hugged her dad equally as tight.
"Oh Peach! Are you okay? What did those super heroes do to you?" Mr. Stool asked very worrily.
"Dad, those super heroes didn't attack me." Peach said. Mr. Stool looked at Peach. "It was a clone of me trying to take over the world with the toads." Mr. Stool sighed a sigh of relief. He let go of Peach and Peach grabbed the ice pack from Daisy.
"Okay well, that is a relief." said Mr. Stool. Daisy came and stood next to Peach. Peach held Daisy's hand for emotional support.
"Dad, I think I need to transfer to City High," said Peach firmly.
