Chapter II
Atlas growled as he squared up the alien creatures. He remembered them from their first attempted invasion, when the insects prevented them from causing too much damage.
Atlas remembered what happened. The invaders saw his hatred for Gojira, and sought to use it to their advantage. They experimented on him, growing crystals on his skin and forcing them deeper into his body. It was painful, but the rewards were worth the price.
Gigan charged Atlas first, and was quickly overpowered by several crystalline growths that trapped him in a cage. He screamed and shot his laser beam into the crystals, but this only served to make Atlas stronger.
Megalon burrowed out from underneath Atlas and stabbed his drill through the mutant's ankle. Atlas screamed and pulled Megalon out of the ground, before frying the beetle's electronics with his electrical beam. Megalon still lived, but his drills were inactive.
Gigan cut through the crystals with his torso saw and resumed his charge toward Atlas. The Earth creature held his hands up and grabbed Gigan's bladed arms, before kicking him away with his good foot. The energy in the crystals surged to him to heal his injury, and the excess energized him to give him an edge in his fight.
Megalon swung his drill arms at Atlas, only for the much larger Titan to grab them and slam the poor beetle into the ground. Megalon tried to use his horn to fight Atlas off, but without electronics, he was practically helpless.
Venous slithered up behind Atlas and constricted his body around the larger Titan's torso. Atlas could only let out a weak scream as the air was being forced from his lungs. Gigan stood back up and readied his laser attack. A beam shot out of his visor, aimed straight for Atlas' head.
A screen of yellow energy deflected the laser stream to one of the crystals, which deflected the energy back to Atlas.
The Earthborn Titan roared with renewed vigor and ripped Venous off of him. The centipede screamed as his body was severed in half. Megalon reached up to stab his drill through Atlas' side, but the wound was quickly sealed by yellow energy, which flooded into Megalon's nervous system and rendered him unconscious.
Now, it was Atlas against Gigan.
The cyborg swung one of his massive blades at the other Titan, only for it to be blocked. Gigan swung his other blade and made an ugly gash on Atlas' chest, eliciting a scream from the mutant.
Gigan moved quickly to cut Atlas up. The mutant was flooded with pain as his body was covered in bloody cuts. Gigan was fast, but Atlas didn't need speed. All he needed was another chargeup.
And Gigan had the stupidity to try his laser weapon again. The bolt reflected off of Atlas' shield and deflected directly into one of his crystals. The energy looped back to Atlas and recharged him, giving him the energy to kill Gigan.
His electrical breath ascended into a full-out attack, flooding Gigan's body and overloading his systems. Eventually, Gigan's life-support system went offline, and he was rendered unconscious.
Atlas roared in victory. His incredible screech called the attention of the Xilien spaceforce.
They just floated there, watching him.
"I knew he would be a good asset," the Elder said, looking at the creation he and his engineers made.
"Will we be able to control him?" his Cohort asked.
"He must, or he will die."
As if he heard them, the Earth creature charged up his electrical attack once more.
"Oh, shi-"
Atlas destroyed every single one of the Xilien ships with a single breath. He knew that they wanted to control him. He wouldn't allow it.
His battle over, he turned his head to the stars. Specifically, the star that he once called home.
He floated off into space, his crystals extending further out to protect his body from the perils of space travel. He flew toward home, ready to show his brother just how much stronger he was.
