Chapter XI
Command Bridge of the Argo, Atlantic Ocean
Mark, Chen, Stanton, and Jon walked onto the command bridge. They were greeted by Sam Coleman, the G-Team, and the outlawed Avengers.
"Where's Dr. Serizawa?" Sam asked.
"He died to save us," Chen said simply. Sam nodded his understanding.
"We need to go to Boston," Mark said.
"Boston? Why?" Steve asked.
"My daughter's gone missing," he explained. "I don't know if she's been kidnapped, or if she's trying to take matters into her own hands, but I need to find her."
"Mark, we have bigger problems-" Foster began.
"We're going," Steve interjected. "She was staying at the Monarch base in Boston. If I'm not mistaken, that's where the Orca is, too."
Everyone was silent. They knew that he was right.
"Colonel Foster," one of the pilots called out, "we're getting a communique from Mr. Stark."
Steve and Natasha stepped to the side, while the rest stood in the center of the bridge to talk to Tony.
"To what do I owe the pleasure, Mr. Stark?" Foster asked, seeing the all-too familiar face of the heroic billionaire.
"Unfortunately, it's Sam Wilson's death," Stark said somberly. "I know that Steve and Romanoff are with you. Don't worry, I have no intentions of taking them in."
Steve and Natasha walked up to the center to face him.
"Why the change of heart?" Nomad asked.
"I'm setting the government permission aside for the moment. Me and a couple friends will be in Boston in a moment."
"How'd you know we were going to Boston?" Mark asked.
"I didn't. The news said that all the Titans are calming down. I plotted simulations for their paths, and they're all going to Boston."
"It has to be Madison," Mark said.
"I'll contact Vision and have him meet us there," Steve said. "Thanks, Tony."
"Thank me when it's over. Seeya later."
Stark's face disappeared, and they instead saw the cave drawing of Godzilla fighting Ghidorah.
"How are we gonna defeat ol' Larry, Curly, and Moe?" Stanton asked, gesturing to the cave drawing.
"Godzilla will restore balance," Chen said.
"Oh yeah, a little Serizawa 'let-em-fight' action. Used to love it when he said that."
Mark looked outside the plane, before turning to the scientists.
"No, this time, we join the fight."
Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts
Madison plugged the Orca into the audio system for the Park. She planned to use the Orca to stop the Titans' rampages and divert Ghidorah's flight path. If she could do that, Washington D.C. would be spared from the Titans' wrath, and her nightmare wouldn't become a reality.
She brought up the signal that her mother used to calm Mothra and Battra down two years ago. She pressed the button, and the Orca echoed out of the loudspeakers.
She looked at the live newsfeed. The Titans ceased their battles and instead started walking towards Boston. Madison smiled in her victory.
Little did she know that Ghidorah was just passing over Boston.
A loud thud shook the city. Outside, in the field, Ghidorah shook off the dust and screamed to announce his presence.
He destroyed the loudspeakers and searched for the creature that dared to challenge his rule. He looked inside the announcer's booth and saw Madison. His red eyes narrowed in anger.
"Oh, shit," she muttered, before running out the door.
Ghidorah destroyed the booth and the walls of the stadium. Madison was able to outrun the electrical beams before they could burn her. She stood outside in the rain.
Ghidorah looked down at her, like a god looks at a human. Madison threw the Orca at him, and he destroyed when he realized that it was responsible for the noise. However, he wasn't content with just the Orca.
Ghidorah raised himself up as the electricity built up in his necks. Madison screamed in defiance, and Ghidorah was about to unleash his electrical fury on her, when a blast of blue fire pushed him back. He fell backwards in a heap.
The ground shook with the approach of the King. Madison turned as Godzilla's roar echoed throughout the city.
The King had returned.
