Chapter 11— Family Meeting
Bella pov
After Carlilse finished the book, we decided to clear our minds with our mates. Carlisle and Esme went upstairs, Rosalie and Emmett to the garage, Alice and Jasper to the woods and Edward and i decided for the river on the back of the house.
"It's cold"
"I know but its closer to the house"— he said giving me his jacket. Edward sat in one of the boulders pulling me to sit between his legs. The air was chilly but sitting there in the quiet with only the sound of the water was helping me calm my nerves. This whole book thing was giving me a headache, why does it seem like life wants me dead? Why couldn't i just move on when he left? Why didn't i try to find him? Who is this Meyer? How many things are we going to change?
"Talk to me Bella, what are you thinking?"— He said while stroking my hair. "About everything, there is so much we need to do, so many people we have to think about because of these books."
"We owe a lot to this Meyer"— he said kissing my neck, his breath gave me Goosebumps, his nose was close to my jugular— " You smile delightful love"
"You need to hunt"— I said pushing him away— "Yeah?"
"You give me weird compliments when you're hungry"— I said making him laugh
"I hunted last night while you were sleeping"
"You left me alone!"— I glared at him— "For a moment but Esme was watching you"
I didn't like it when he leaves me but at least I wasn't alone.
"Edward... if I die…"
"No"— He said shaking his head
"Listen please, If anything happens to me you need to keep going for them"— I said pointing at the house, I turned around to look at him, he had his eyes closed and his expression was somber— "Eternity is to long Bella, the pain of knowing how it felt to be happy and to have someone, only to go back to long lonely depress nights sounds horrible. If you die i wouldn't make it, I know it's not what you want to hear but i can't"
"Your family…"
"They will have to mourn both of us and keep us alive threw memories just like humans do when a love one dies"
Everything in that sentence sounded morbid. – "We have to stay alive then"— I said, looking up to the sky it was getting dark. He leaves tonight; in the book instead of being here together, i would be out there in the woods, cold, desperate and in pain.
"You leave tonight"— I said not being able to stop the tears
"Shh love, i'm right here"— he cleaned my tears with his fingers. –"Let's change the topic… so you get turn on by my predator instinct?"—he wiggled his eyebrows.
I could feel my face getting red— "It's the black eyes, the whole dominant thing"
He chuckled, ooh that chuckle sent chills down my spine— "I never thought you would be into submission Bella"- he whispered in my ear— "There are lots of things you don't know because you don't want to … explore"— I choked out
"Maybe we should start practicing"— he said licking my earlobe— "Stop, you only turn me on and then I'm left all hot and bothered"
"Where are we going for winter break? — He asked, I narrowed my eyes at him— "Somewhere where we can be alone."
"I would like that but it's going to be difficult with Charlie"
"That's why we have Alice"— I winked at him
After a while of being quiet Edward decided it was time to go.
EDWARD POV
I could hear the rest congregating in the dining room.
"Let's go love"
Like always Carlisle and Esme to the end of the table Emmett and Rosalie to the left, Jasper and Alice to the right, Bella and me on the other end. The family meetings always consisted of me being alone but not today.
My family's mind was chaotic none of us knew what to expect of the following books, or what we were going to do. It was strange to see Carlisle all worked up, he was coming up with a plan we have to go to Denali, see it for ourselves…
"We have to discuss a few things; first i would like to apologize to you Bella"— Bella started shaking her head. –"Carlisle you don't have to apologize for something that hasn't…won't happen, perhaps in that reality when you saw that i was in danger you all decided i would be better without you, we might never know."
My father smiled at her words. We have to make sure we don't hurt her in this reality.
She should've been consulted in the first place; I blame Eddie and his stupid manipulation.
I'm never going to leave my best friend like that; I wonder how much shit you told us Edward.
We won't leave her behind… Those words surprise me. I turned around to look at Rosalie— i realize how much she means to you. I nodded at her.
I guess everyone is right, it was my fault.
"I guess you're right dear. We will never know but i can assure you that won't happen in this reality, we are a family and decisions like those are made together, you should've been consulted"— Esme said
"Alice do you have any idea what are you going to do with your information, whatever you decide we will be there for you and if you need us we will go with you"— Carlisle said
"Thank you, i still don't know exactly what i'm going to do but i want to see her"
I'm so scared…
I frowned at her words.
Edward don't say anything.
"Ok, now we have three things Laurent, victoria and the wolfs"
"We need to kill them"— Emmett said
We should've killed the since that day pops was to nice, now they're coming for my sis"
"I agree"— Carlisle said, we all stared at him it was rare for Carlisle to choose violence. — "But we just can't go to Denali and kill him and it's too dangerous to just go and hunt victoria"
"Victoria is in New York but she gets fuzzy from time to time"— Alice said
If she keeps to the original plan, she will come after New Year's we can be alert and keep Bella close.
"Let's keep an eye on her, but Laurent he's going to be difficult apparently Irina believes he might be her mate"
"If he is she would know by now"— Jasper said moving his head to the side.
"He could have a gift like Marcus maybe making them believe they are mated"— Rosalie said.
"No I didn't get anything from him, maybe is Irina desperation for a partner"— I said, which made Bella turn around with a raised eyebrow.
Ha! You walked right into that one
"I meant that Irina is the one who struggles the most with the feeling of loneliness perhaps she's just creating the connection"
"I agree he betrayed her"— Alice said
"That's why we are going to Denali"… I need you there Edward
"All of us?"— Emmett asked, I shook my head "We can't leave Bella un protected"
"Edward, Emmett and I only, the rest stays behind"
Yeah
I hate being away from my bear…
"We leave tonight"- My father said. I turn around to look at my angel, who looked in distress, I can't leave her tonight.
"Not tonight Carlisle"
Son, the faster we do this…
I shook my head— " I leave tonight in the book, i would like to stay close to Bella"—Carlisle eyes soften at my words, Esme grabbed his shoulder—" Let them have tonight"— she said.
"Actually, I think we all need sometime alone with our mates"— Alice said, I need to discuss the new information about me with jazzy.
"Very well, we will spend the weekend with our mates and leave at midnight on Sunday. Let's also take the opportunity to hunt, Edward you will hunt on the way to Alaska"
"Do the Denali's know you're going?"— Bella asked
"I'll call Eleazar in a few hours"
