KellHound270's Work
\_|_/
Hello, everyone! I just wanted you to know that I plan to make another 'phase' to the Monarchs of Earth storyline. The current phase will go from Earth's Mightiest Defender to the story that takes place in 2025. The second phase will be more futuristic and will include two more popular franchises.
That's all! Enjoy, and please R&R!
Chapter XI
Command Bridge of the Gotengo, en route to Outpost 54
"Where is M.U.T.O. Prime?" Colonel Foster asked.
"She's going back to Seattle," Stanton answered. "Godzilla is on Monster Island, and Anguirus and his buddies are going there now."
"'Monster Island?'" Steve inquired.
"Just a nickname I came up with. More fitting than Moansta Island."
"Wouldn't Skull Island be a better fit?" Ken asked.
"Maybe, but Skull Island is a good fit, too. Might as well keep it that way."
"Colonel," Coleman called out, "we're getting a transmission from Outpost 56."
"Patch it through," she ordered.
The giant viewscreens displayed the tired face of the traitorous Emma Russell. She bore a guilty look as she saw everyone on the command bridge.
"Are Madison and Ken safe?" she asked.
"We're fine," Ken said angrily, "no thanks to you."
Emma made no reply as she lowered her head in shame.
"We know you're with the Red Bamboo, Emma," Serizawa said. "Do you care to explain yourself?"
Emma wiped at her eyes as they started to tear up. She made eye contact with everyone.
"Our world is dying," she said, "and we are the cause. We are the infection. Wars. Poverty. Death. Decay."
She displayed several pictures of what she spoke of on the screen.
"But, like all living organisms, the Earth developed a cure to fight the infection. It's rightful, and original rulers, the Titans. Everywhere they go, their radiation acts as fertilizer to the soil, accelerating plant growth and eliminating disease."
The screen showed pictures of Janjira, Japan, both before and after Godzilla's rise. The first image showed a decrepit city, while the second image showed plants growing everywhere.
"If we continue our path," Emma continued, "our planet will perish, and so will we. Unless we set them free."
"You are out of your goddamn mind!" Mark yelled.
"I assure you, I'm the sanest I've ever been-"
"You're playing God!" Graham interrupted.
"These are forces you can't possibly hope to control!" Serizawa added.
"Like you can!" Emma shot back. "The military wants to take over and kill them!"
"I used to think you were amazing, Emma," Ken said with quiet contempt. "I thought you could be the pioneer to a better future, one where man and Titan can coexist."
Emma remained silent as Ken spoke.
"But I see that you're far from a pioneer. Only a murderer, a terrorist, and a traitor."
Emma's eyes became fountains of tears as she tried to keep herself together.
"I'm sorry, Ken," she said, her voice breaking. "She wasn't supposed to go. But-"
The screen went black before she could go further.
"That's enough," Stanton said. "She's lied too much already."
Ken stormed off the bridge. Madison was half-running to the bridge when she encountered him, and instead followed him.
"That bitch," Chen said, her voice dripping with venom.
Unknown Location
Emma broke into tears as the viewscreen she used to talk to Monarch went black. She couldn't explain herself, and she couldn't make it better.
Kina Serizawa was her best friend since she joined Monarch. The two were like sisters, and they hoped that their children would come together and make a family themselves.
But it seemed impossible now. They wanted nothing to do with her, and she knew that she deserved it.
"Do they know?" Garret asked, standing behind her.
Emma only nodded, her voice too choked with tears to talk.
"Good. Now, they have a choice of who to follow. Now, we have another Titan to wake up."
Seattle, Washington
M.U.T.O. Prime rose slowly from the harbor, her energy sapped by her depression.
She had lost hundreds of her children, a loss so great that nobody could know until they experienced it.
Her daughter moaned in worry as she nudged her mother's snout. Prime's emotions lifted a bit at her daughter's worry.
The mother looked at the reactor where her son pupated and grew. She could sense his approach toward adulthood.
A droning sound emanated across the globe. Humans' hearing was too weak to hear it, but the M.U.T.O.s could hear it. It was an artificial Titan call. The mechanical sounds grated against their inner ears and caused them pain.
The male's cocoon shook and crumbled as a pair of triangular wings tore through the orange membranes. The smaller male imago was like it's sibling, but with a pair of wings instead of a pair of legs.
Screaming in pain and anger, the male took off in the direction of the sound. Knowing that her son would find it, M.U.T.O. Prime followed at a much more leisurely pace, with her daughter in tow.
Monster Island, Sea of Japan
Godzilla laid in the lagoon as Anguirus rose from the sea. Mothra and Battra crawled out from between his spikes to their guardian. Godzilla was too lost in his depression to even acknowledge them. The larvae whined in sadness.
Anguirus, displeased at his King's lack of action, roared at Godzilla. When the giant reptile made no reply, Anguirus locked his jaws around his neck.
Screeching in pain, Godzilla stood up straight within a second, throwing Anguirus off of him. Angered by the Earth Dragon's insolence, Godzilla turned to face him, his eyes glowing yellow.
Anguirus roared again, telling Godzilla that he shouldn't dwell on Mothra Prime's death. Godzilla immediately became somber again, but Anguirus didn't stop, telling him that Mothra Prime would want him to kill her killers. Godzilla understood, but he still lacked the motivation.
Until he heard it.
The mechanical droning hurt Godzilla's ears, and he faced to the East, where the sound came from. He wouldn't ordinarily go to find the sound, but he knew that his enemies would go to destroy it. His righteous anger welled up in his gut again.
He turned to the larvae and sensed that they were ready to mature. He told Abbadon to look after them, and told the larvae that, when they are ready, they are to seek him out. The larvae understood and retreated into the forest.
Godzilla descended into the sea, with Anguirus following closely, ready to fight Dagon's killer.
