6. Chapter 6

Merry Christmas!

Saturday, August 2nd, 1986

Dumbledore was angry. When Severus Snape told him about what Lily's spirit told him, Albus told him that he could take out Harry from the Dursleys when he finds him a safe house. He didn't expect the safe house the vampire told him about to be none other than Malfoy Manor.

"I am not asking you to trust Lucius, Headmaster. But I do trust Cissy, and so does her wretched cousin."

"Sirius trusted Pettigrew."

"Cissy is not like him. She feels bad for the Potter boy and intends on raising him as a second son. Also, Pettigrew got Black in Azkaban, Cissy got him out of it. She would do anything for her family."

"But what about Lucius?"

"Lucius sees having the Boy-Who-Lived in his house as a good political move. Plus, Cissy would never allow him to harm Potter."

"You are telling him to trust the wife of a Death Eater."

"Who also happens to be the beloved cousin of Sirius Black. If I were you, I would write to Black."

Harry Potter was sent to St Mungo's to see Andromeda Tonks. After checking him up and recommending nutritious potions, the Child Healer had something very serious to tell both Sirius and Narcissa. The blonde witch was invited to the Tonks Residence so that Harry doesn't overhear their conversation. Narcissa still remembers the first time she sat foot in this house in 1972 shortly after Andromeda got married. Before now, the blonde witch hadn't been to this house since 1976.

"Is this – " started Narcissa, the first time she saw the house.

"A house that used to belong to Uncle Alphard? Yes," responded her sister

"So not only do the Blacks have a Manor in Wiltshire, but also this house?"

"Yes, Cissy. This used to be Black Estate. Don't forget it's in Wiltshire our ancestors first settled after coming from France."

"How many bedrooms?"

"Six."

"I can see why Uncle Alphard would give it to you. He has no children and you need it more."

"So, Andy. You said there's something about Harry's scar," asked Sirius.

"That scar contains some of the foulest magic I have ever seen."

"Do you know what it could be?"

"It's so dark and sickening that my mind jumps to Horcruxes."

"Could it really be a Horcrux?" asked Narcissa.

"The only way to know is to ask Dumbledore. He probably knows the spell that can detect one," said Andromeda.

"But that's just – " started Sirius.

"Absolutely terrible!" added Andromeda.

"It's monstrous! Not only the Dark Lord takes away his parents, but he also turns him into a Horcrux!" said a scandalized Narcissa."

Monday, August 4th, 1986

The Aurors who used the Cruciatus Curse on Sirius Black were sentenced to a lifetime in Azkaban. Also, at Narcissa's suggestion, Severus Snape had tea with Rita Skeeter. When the witch went to the bathroom, the vampire put Veritaserum in her cup, forcing her to reveal some of her dirtiest secrets, including the fact that she's an unregistered Animagus. Severus threatened to reveal everything in case she didn't publish an apology, which she promptly did the next day. This helped mend the relationship between Severus and Narcissa, not that they have ever been close friends, and Severus was still mad that Sirius Black was out of Azkaban. When Narcissa told Andromeda of what happened, the latter was proud, since what happened with Rita Skeeter was a very Slytherin thing, and Andromeda has always been proud of her Hogwarts House.
