Haru was disappointed so far no one was available to go with her to the ancient civilization astrology exhibit at the museum. She had hoped they could go as a group, but everyone was busy that Saturday. Currently everyone was sitting in Tsuna's room working on their homework, Haru was in a different class so her work was a little different from the others, she wasn't very talkative either; upset the tickets she had were going to go to waste.
"Gokudera, what are you doing on Saturday?" Kyoko asked, Haru was sort of paying attention writing down the answer for her English work.
"The normal."
"Ah Gokudera, I'm going with my mother out of town for the day. So no one will be here." Tsuna stated. Haru looked up to see Gokudera look over to Yamamoto.
"Sorry I have a tournament all weekend. Dad's even closing the shop to come watch." She watched Hayato's face fall a bit.
"We have a family event, so Kyoko and I are busy too." Ryohei informed a disappointed silver haired teen. He then looked to Haru who started to feel a little hopeful.
"Haru don't you have tickets to the museum this Saturday?" Haru nodded her head.
"Yeah, for the new exhibit." Gokudera became excited.
"Wait the sold out one?" He asked, Haru nodded her head.
"Yeah I got enough tickets for everyone, but people are busy so I was gonna go alone." The others looked at her apologetically, she waved it off.
"Don't worry about it, besides most of you seemed bored when I was talking about it."
She watched the others smile at her awkwardly before she saw Kyoko smile. Haru knew that smile, it usually involved her meddling when she wanted to be a matchmaker.
"Gokudera, could you go with Haru. Afterall me and her are the only non-fighters in the group and she's gonna be alone." At this all the men in the group stiffened. There had been a hostage issue with Haru a few months back and no one really got over it. Haru had gotten herself kidnapped on purpose to gather intel for the family, no one was happy.
Hayato agreed quickly to go, which is how she found herself alone with him that Saturday. Kyoko had come over that morning and got her ready, pulling out a cute pink and red dress she had bought a while ago, with a pair of black flats. She left her hair down and put on minimal makeup.
"Kyoko, this much effort isn't needed. It isn't a date." Kyoko just smiled at her.
"Oh Haru, dressing up every once in a while is ok." Kyoko left to go to her family event and Haru waited a bit before going to the meeting spot.
"This really is too much."
"What are you muttering about now stupid woman." Haru looked up to Gokudera, he was dressed casually in his signature colours of black and red. The red t-shirt, black leather jacket and black jeans with sneakers; his hair pulled into a low ponytail. Haru felt over dressed, but smiled at him, happy he showed up.
"Ready to go?" He nodded his head, she did notice him fiddle with his pocket but she let it go, as he held out his other hand.
"So we don't get separated." Haru nodded her head understanding the logic, with a small blush she took his hand. The two walked towards the museum nearby, approaching the desk at the front Haru handed in two of her tickets and asked for a refund on all the other tickets not being used. Once everything was done, Hayato took her hand again, Haru couldn't help the blush forming on her cheeks but was easily distracted, as they walked through the exhibits.
They debated, exchanged theories and information about the different things they saw, Haru found herself enjoying the day a lot, it was the best conversation she ever had with him. They were headed to the new exhibit when she couldn't help blurting out what she was thinking.
"This is the best birthday yet." She looked to Hayato happy about being able to be around him without yelling. "Thank you for coming."
Hayato smiled at her and squeezed her hand pulling her forwards to the new exhibit. There they saw and discussed the different beliefs and methods the different civilizations handled astrology. After they had been through the entire museum, they realized it was getting dark. Hayato guided her to a small cafe nearby, they got some food and Haru saw Hayato fiddling with his pocket again. She watched his face as he struggled with what he wanted to do.
"I really liked how the Mayans looked at the stars. I never knew their method was so scientific." Hayato smiled and nodded his head. Before placing a small box, wrapped in red wrapping paper in front of her.
"I thought there was a surprise party for you today, when I found out everyone was actually busy. Anyways here." He pushed the box closer to her.
She started to open the box carefully, beneath the red wrapping was a velvet box. She carefully opened it and found a necklace in it, a locket pendant at the end. Inside an image of everyone together, the other side bare for her to add whatever photo she would want to add. The back had a saying in Italian, when she looked at Gokudera he was facing away and the only way she could tell he was embarrassed was because he's ears were red.
"Thank you" she softly said, he held his hand out again to her and she found herself taking said hand.
She blushed, she was unsure of these new feelings brewing inside her, they were powerful and strong. Stronger than anything she felt for Tsuna; one thing she knew for sure was that whether she thought it over or not, right now she was gonna follow her impulse.
Tugging his hand a little, grabbing his attention, when his eyes met hers she spoke.
"Go out with me." She held his gaze as she watched his face shift from shock to embarrassment, then to hope, anger frustration finally his face rested on a serious expression as his eyes searched hers.
"Are you sure? What about Judaime?" Haru held his gaze.
"Nothing compared to what you do to me." He squeezed her hand and opened his mouth to respond.
