Epilogue: 10 Years Later…

It's been ten years now since I was adopted by the Dalmatian family.

And those past years were no doubt the happiest, especially when all my worries were washed away thanks to my brothers and sisters. Not only did I grow in age, appearance and personality, but so did my family, and all for the better.

Dolly and Dylan being 27 years old now didn't change them much, though the latter was more prone to getting exhausted thanks to his more mischievous siblings, but even when they had him on the ground breathless, he still loved us all regardless and never rested until he was sure we were healthy and happy for the day. We even got him to teach us a bit about his favourite subject, astronomy if he was in a really good mood. Dolly on the other hand never seemed to lose any of her energy during these past years, being just as lively and always willing to make fun for us. Fortunately for Dylan, she seemed to mature a little and gave his boundaries a little more respect for his sake. Dolly to this day has yet to even quit skateboarding, no doubt preferring it as her method of travel.

Speaking of skateboarding, Dizzy and Dee Dee, now both 18 were in the process of continuing Dolly's legacy of being the most rambunctious of the family should the time come when she has to retire. Instead of skateboarding however, they took up roller-skating which they started three years ago. Throughout those three years, those two no doubt ended up with more band-aids and bruises with every test run, but such injuries never deterred them from pushing forward, even after having a small crying moment should they have received a really bad injury.

Da Vinci managed to step out of her shy circle with a bit of help from me after turning 15 and the next thing you know, she was showing her life's work to the public, all of which was met with approval. Now that she was 21, she was now a tutor in University of the Arts in London after she was acknowledged by art critic, Adrian Searle whom wrote a tabloid of her efforts in the papers. Because of this alone, she was always a lot more happier than usual and that in turn earned a smile from me.

The Triple D's acting career skyrocketed when they turned 18, having gained more freedom to advertise more products aimed for older audiences and that meant more wage to the family. Though with the three now being adults at the current age of 22, they had no reason to turn down any session that involved them advertising lingerie among other… "sensous" products. But money is money after all and acting was their number one talent so none of us judged them. Their director often sometimes had the three take me with them to help with the commercial, but only the tasteful agamic ones thankfully.

As for the Dimitri trio, they got a bit of the short end of the stick after pulling a prank on an elderly man that nearly resulted in severe injury. The family pressed charges and with the three being 23 years old, they weren't exempt from having to do community service as punishment. At the very least, they seemed to learn their lesson from that and swore to tone down their pranks to be less harmful, especially to humans. As adults, they like everyone else had more freedom, sometimes spending their nights, hitting the bottle, luckily not to the extent of my former father. And even though I was capable of taking care of myself, they always insisted on tagging along with me whenever I go on an outing during the night-time as if they were my personal bodyguards. I guess they still felt guilty of how they treated me after finding me nearly murdered by my own birth father even though I didn't hold that against them since they did save my life after all.

Ah yes, I almost forgot something about Dylan. Before I turned 11, Dylan and Portia ended up meeting in person and were able to make peace with each other. For their sake, I didn't ask them what they had against one another. Sometimes if I decided to hang out with Dante whom thankfully managed to tone down his outbursts of paranoia a little, I'd often come across the poodle herself. Because of our different attitudes, we were at best acquaintances but at least she seemed to like my company when I was around, especially when Dylan tagged along, him and Portia seemingly starting to become somewhat friends.

That Border Collie I met on that Halloween called 'Summer'? It was a few weeks after I left the hospital that she wrote to us from her hometown of Cornwall, having included her contact information so now she and us, especially Dylan were able to video call her whenever she was available. Throughout the years, I've seen Summer talk with Dylan the most out of our family. Call it superstition, but I have a bit of a feeling that those two have a thing for each other.

And as promised, Hunter and I hanged out almost all the time to the point where I soon found myself having my first ever best friend. As of now, he's been working at a care home for the anthros with special needs and disabilities, motivated by his love for animals which had been a factor in him standing up against his witch of an aunt all those years ago.

And then there's Dorothy, now 11 years old. Very recently, London opened a new school aimed for not only humans but anthros as well so she could learn without the need to be homeschooled like everyone else in my family had been. As expected, she was nervous at first but with a little help from me, Dylan and Dolly, she managed to fit right at in and had already made a few good friends there.

Delilah and Doug, my new mom and dad, despite being 54 and 57 years old were still well and kicking but did show some fatigue every now and then which was to be expected with the jobs they had. Only rarely did either of them not smile and they were always happy to see their children growing up for a better future, including me.

I never saw my former father again. I could not bring myself to set foot into the prison he was held in and confront him for the hell he put me through. Frankly, I don't think he'd want to lay eyes on me anyway and I honestly couldn't care less. I was more so glad he was finally getting the justice he long deserved alongside the descendant of Cruella.

And finally there was me. The human boy of the Dalmatian family now a full grown man. With me no longer under my former father's watch, the Dalmatians decided it would be good for me to have a surname change to 'Dalmatian'. Truthfully, I liked the full name, "Cody Dalmatian" more than "Cody Wester", even if I wasn't a dog. My days were spent either taking care of my younger siblings or hanging out with Dolly during the day, her pranks of Clarissa had rubbed off a bit on me as sometimes even I'd give her some good ideas on how to mess with the arrogant Corgi. Even Fergus liked this new naughty side of me. It wouldn't be until I was 14 that I'd meet this "Hansel" person Roxy mentioned at Regent's Park, conveniently with Dolly at the time. A Siberian husky in a dark blue turtle-neck sweater and black pants. With a bit of encouragement from me and the Rottweiler, Dolly swallowed her long-lasting anxiety and finally asked Hansel on a date and was left speechless when he said "Yes". With Hansel and Dolly still together to this day, the latter couldn't be any more happier. I even became good friends with the husky in question.

When I turned 17, to help to add to the family's fund, I managed to apply for a job at the very London Art Shop me and Da Vinci went to. The current owner, Mr. Hanworth even recognised me and was more than happy to offer me a place as assistant. Because of that, I even got a staff discount on the shop's items and was able to bring home extra art supplies for Da Vinci much to her delight. She was even surprised when she first found out I was now working at her regular place for supplies.

Oh yeah, I never told you about DJ, did I? Because of our similar tastes in music, I was perhaps the closest to him out of all my brothers. There was perhaps never a day where me and him never hung out. Dare I say DJ was like a best friend to me alongside Hunter. And I think the fact that one of the officials that looks over Regent's Park was impressed by our performance of one of David Bowie's songs that he asked us to perform on the park theatre whenever it was vacant that really cemented our relationship. Dolly even sometimes joked about us being a couple but we both knew that would never be the case for obvious reasons.

Speaking of which, it was almost time for one of our performances at said park. This time, DJ wouldn't be at a turntable as it was going to be a duet between the both of us. Everyone in our family was already there with even our friends joining us. I watched them stare at the empty stage, save for a music player connected to some loudspeakers in anticipation. I looked at myself in my new blue hoodie with white sleeves, black pants and blue sneakers that my mom and dad provided me with after I eventually grew too big for the clothes the Triple D had given me ten years ago. I straightened my attire out when the music dog himself arrived on the scene.

"Ready to blow everyone away, bro?" He asked me with a smirk, handing me a microphone whilst he had one in his other hand.

"Always will be, DJ." I returned the smile, accepting the mic as we both walked up on stage, eliciting a few claps from the audience.

"Alright, thanks for coming tonight, everyone!" DJ thanked on his mic before continuing. "Tonight, me and Cody decided to dedicate our performance back to ten years ago when he first met us and became a part of our family."

"...And in turn became the awesome brother I know and love." DJ wrapped an arm around me as he finished that sentence, earning some "Awww"s from some of the crowd. He then glanced at me and I nodded to him in response as he let go and thus we began.

I can't win, I can't reign.

I will never win this game without you, without you

I am lost, I am vain

I will never be the same without you, without you

I won't run, I won't fly

I will never make it by without you, without you

I can't rest, I can't fight

All I need is you and I without you…

Withoooooooooout yooooooooooou…

Oh-Oh-Oh

You, you, you

Without… You, you, you

Without… you

Can't erase, so I'll take blame

But I can't accept that we're estranged without you, without you

I can't quit now, this can't be right

I can't take one more sleepless night without you, without you

I won't soar, I won't climb

If you're not here, I'm paralysed without you, without you

I can't look, I'm so blind

I lost my heart, I lost my mind without you…

Withoooooooooout yooooooooooou…

Oh-Oh-Oh

You, you, you

Without… You, you, you

Without… you

I am lost, I am vain

I will never be the same without you, without you

Without you…

The silence after our song didn't last long as it was quickly interrupted by loud applause from everyone in the crowd whilst DJ and I wrapped ourselves around each other in the tightest of hugs only brothers could muster. All the while I could see mom looking at us both with tears in her eyes, the look on her face telling us just how proud she was of us.

We both then saw Dawkins calling DJ over, wanting to talk with him. We shared a fist bump before leaving the stage, earning compliments from our siblings. That was when Dylan approached me.

"Cody? A police officer just stopped outside of the park, said he was looking for you." He had a look of slight confusion on his face as he said that before joining his brothers and sisters. Not wanting to keep the figure of authority waiting, I quickly made my way to the park's front gates to see a police cruiser just parked next to it, the driver exiting as soon as I was a few steps away from the vehicle, revealing himself to be a middle aged officer in his mid-thirties whom walked over to me.

"Cody Dalmatian?" I nodded when he asked my name before he continued.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I'm PC Hershel, one of the officers who arrested your birth father on account of attempted filicide and assault." I remembered back to when I had been told that my former father had been arrested and sentenced to prison after recovering from my injuries he gave me. PC Hershel then handed out an old envelope that looked like it had not been touched for years.

"A member of the family who recently just moved into your former home in Yateley found this hidden in the basement. Your father must have kept it hidden from you all this time." I accepted the envelope and looked at it to see a written message.

'For Cody's Eyes Only'

"Thank you for taking the time to see me, Mr. Dalmatian. I shall now let you resume your day. Until we meet again." Hershel tipped his hat forward in a saluting manner before going back into his car and leaving the area.

I re-entered the park and sat on the nearest bench, taking another look at the envelope before finally opening it to find a letter inside… with a photograph of my mother holding a baby. That baby was me.

My sweet little Cody,

For the many years to come ever since you were born, you made me laugh, you made me live, but most of all, you made me happy. Words aren't enough for me to say just how proud I am of you and even when I was sad, the sight of you always made me smile.

You helped me learn how to be the sweetest mother any child could ask for. Even if something happens to me that will possibly mean we won't ever see each other again, I want you to know that I never enjoyed nothing more than raising you, even if you were a little stubborn and mischievous at times.

For when the time comes that you grow from a sweet little bundle of joy to a handsome young man, I hope you always keep memories of us so that you will never forget. I love you, and thank you.

Your mother always and forever,

Maria Wester.

I gently put the letter back in the envelope, keeping the photo in with it, a warm smile with tear-glazed eyes never leaving me. Anything else I had that contained memories of her were long gone, but what I had in this letter still remains. I won't ever change that for as long as I live and I will always stay by the Dalmatian family no matter what to show her how much they shaped me.

I'm a new person from what I was ten years ago. Changed. Given another chance at life by a sheer miracle composed of two young Dalmatian girls who would become two of my many sisters. And because of that, I ended up shaping myself into what my mother would've wanted me to be, a strong and brave person able to protect those who matter to me.

I remembered my old sketchbook I still had with me and looked through it, pages and pages of me and my brothers and sisters, all drawn throughout the years I've spent with them. Even after using it for over ten years, there were still blank pages with more memories to draw on. I still have a lot of life ahead of me and with the help of the Dalmatians, I plan to make the best of it.

For my mother.

For myself.

...For my Family of 101.

The End

Hello Everyone, JackCryo here.

I'd just like to take time here to thank everyone of you who read this project of mine until the very end. After having lost motivation to continue a fanfic I started in December 2017, I didn't think I would ever write again. But I think I was glad to be proven wrong when I started recently reading 101 Dalmatian Street fanfictions again and became motivated once more to start over and I can officially say I'm glad to have finally completed a fanfiction for once and it was a very fun trip for me.

Now I know what you may be asking me, "JackCryo, now that Family of 101 has ended, will you ever write again?" To put it simply, Yes. I will write more fanfics. During the writing of this fic, I even spawned two more ideas that will perhaps one day come into fruition. But for now, I'll be taking a rest while possibly doing what I do most: Making YouTube videos.

But before I part ways with you for now, I would like to leave credit where credit is due:

I would first of all like to thank Ziro7029, with their ongoing fanfiction "101 Reasons to Love" being the main source of inspiration for "Family of 101". If you ever read this, Ziro, I love your story so far and I really hope you continue it.

I would also like to thank JordanC4 who not only has written a story that is also another one of my favourites, "Best Friends Forever" but also personally messaging me just to tell me how much they loved this story and for that, I cannot thank you enough, Jordan.

Most of all, I'd like to thank my reviewers, notably NickXtreme12, Brody R. E. Hall and TheWriterForGod42 for sticking by this story and throughly enjoying it throughout. It's you guys and the ones who follow and favourite this story that has kept my motivation flowing and I thank you again.

Also, I want to credit Whitewolf20XX for originally creating the concept for the character, D-Pad who makes an appearance in Chapter 10 of this story. Be sure to check his twitter to see some good 101DS Fanart.

Finally, a small shout-out to Aldin1996, who's art of the Dalmatian characters in anthro form gave me a good idea of how they would look appearance wise in this story.

Oh, and one last thing. For the sake of those who are curious, here was my headcanon ages for some of the characters for this story up until the epilogue:

Dolly and Dylan – 17

Delilah and Doug – 44 and 47 respectively

Dizzy and Dee Dee – 8

Da Vinci – 11

Triple D – 12

Dimitri Trio – 13

Dorothy – 1 (Obviously)

Dante – 15

DJ – 14

Dawkins – 10

So until we see each other again on this site, if you want to see more content from me, feel free to check out my channel 'JackTheCryogonal' on YouTube where my uploads, whilst sporadic are likely more frequent than any other site I use.

Until next time, this is JackCryo.

Thank You.

...And Good Night.
