Wrapping her shawl a bit tighter around her shoulders, ChiChi called ahead to her husband. "Goku! Slow down! Nimbus is fast but not that fast!"

With his typical "Eh?" Goku spun about before making his way backward to drift above her. Looking down, he grinned as she arched her head back to scowl at hin. "What?"

"You're doing that on purpose." She accused, huffing and hugging tighter into herself. "How do you not freeze to death flying like this? This is why I like the car."

"But the DMV is still trying to undo me being dead. I don't wanna drive and hafta pay a fine."

Sighing heavily, ChiChi flopped back on Nimbus. "Maybe we should have Gohan learn to drive."

Goku settled into an almost swim-motion, rolling this way and that as they went. He looked so relaxed. "Eh, Gohan doesn't really wanna. Him and Videl just fly everywhere."

"What about if they have groceries?"

"Gohan asked me to teach him Instant Transmission."

Growling to herself and with a low huff, she folded her arms. "Got an answer for everything, don't you?"

"Well, ya asked me?" He rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry?"

Taking a deep breath, she smiled, letting her scowl fall away. "Oh, I'm just being huffy." She looked at him. "I asked Gohan and Goten what it was about flying they liked so much when a car or a jet worked just fine. Asked them why they couldn't use a normal method."

"Oh." Goku didn't say anything further. ChiChi obviously needed to talk.

"They both told me it was fun, freeing. Unlike anything else in the world."

Laughing, Goku did a few twists about Nimbus. "It is!" Twirling above her then darting below, he came up to greet her. "Messes up your hair but it's worth it!"

Rubbing her arms, she asked again, "How do you not freeze, going so fast and so high?"

"Ah, your ki keeps you up and keeps you warm!"

ChiChi went quiet a moment. "Akways been a little jealous."

"Jealous? Why?"

"You all being able to fly and I'm stuck on the ground."

Scratching his head, Goku was dumbfounded. "But you could learn too. Ain't that hard."

"I'm scared!" It came out before she realized it, her jaw clenched tight. "You act like it's so easy! It's not!"

Goku stared at her for a minute then placed his palms on Nimbus holding himself upright. "Chi, you ain't never been afraid."

"I'm afraid plenty!" She snarled at him. "Every tine you leave! Every time Gohan or Goten leave! Every time you have to fight some demon and I don't know if you'll come home and I'm just so…useless!"

Goku gently nudged her chin up. "Hey, that ain't true! You make home…home, Chi!"

"But all I can do is sit there and wait. I can't go with you and help. What good would I be?"

Smiling, Goku shook his head. "More than you think. You've still got that fightin' spirit in you! If you wanna be able to come help, we can getcha there!" Bouncing back, he said, "And flyin' is easy to learn!"

ChiChi chanced a glance over Nimbus' side and nearly passed out. There was a reason she hated this but Goku had a point. Why didn't she thrust herself back into the life she and Goku once shared? It was pretty obvious the attacks and enemies weren't going to stop. Why wait at home and worry and fret?

"Is it easy?"

Nimbus had slowed significantly throughout their conversation (being quite intuitive for a cloud) and Goku laughed again, taking her hands. "For you, it'll be a breeze! You already got all the skills. Just gotta use 'em!"

With that, he pulled her forward, to the edge of the cloud. She gave a shout. "Goku! We're miles up! What if I fall?!"

Nimbus pulled back from under her and she tumbled forward.

Goku pulled her close, laughing a little as she threw her arms tight about his neck.

"Well, then I'll catch you, silly."

Setting her back on Nimbus, he smiled. "Trust me?"

Fear fled her. "Always."

"Good." He hovered behind her, hands on her shoulders. "Then focus. Find that energy in you, your ki. I know your Dad taught you about that."

She nodded. Ki was always easy to find.

"Now, just push it down through your body. It's what's gonna hold you up."

Easier said than done but she found it a pretty easy path to follow with such simple instructions. Made her feel a little embarrassed that she'd never tried this earlier. But her feet gradually separated from the cloud and wind flooded the space left behind.

Here she was. Hovering. Flying. She'd done it. She was doing it! A little time with Goku and here she was!

But not enough to pull away from Nimbus.

"See?" Goku laughed and grabbed her hands, spinning her about but keeping her just above Nimbus. "See? Told ya you could do it! Now you're air dancing too!"

Dancing. The thought of it being dancing gave a whole new feel to it. "Air dancing. Sometimes I forget it has such a romantic name." She held her palm out to Goku, inviting though she faltered a bit, looking down at the ground so far away.

Smiling, one of his slow smiles—the ones he saved for her—he said. "Have fun, Chi. You sometimes forget that. Have fun. If you have fun, it becomes just like walking." Taking hold of her hand, he pulled her close and gently spun her, "I can't carry much of a rhythm without music but I can sure dance with ya."

Face warming, ChiChi countered, "Well, I can take care of that." Her feet moved about the sky, her ki holding her firm and steady. "It's been a while but…"

Goku kissed her.

How long they stayed there, perfecting, laughing, kissing, it was hard to say.

But the melodic voice singing "Bit by bit, I'm falling under your spell…" carried for a long while.
