Abu was freaking out despite the fact that Aladdin told him this was no time panic while he, Kay and Robin Hood began to barricade the door they had just come through. Mickey, Piglet, Donald and Merlin all drew their swords, Archimedes flying above them in slight fear. Everyone could see that Merlin and Mickey's swords were both glowing bright blue. That was not a good sign as these blades were designed by elves long ago to glow when enemies were nearby.

Grumpy and Gopher held up their pickaxes right in front of Doc's tomb.

"Let them come, let them know that there's still one dwarf fighting in Moria!" exclaimed Grumpy.

"Remember, we mustn't be trapped in! That's how the colony got killed!" ordered Merlin. Everyone stood back from the door, Kay drew his sword while Robin Hood and Aladdin drew their bows. Abu once again hid himself in Aladdin's vest, peeking out in fear. A few pounds on the door and a few goblins piled in. The Fellowship fought them as best they could.

Mickey leapt over at a rather large goblin and stabbed the foul creature right in the foot. His opponent screeched in pain and jumped backwards only to be struck down by Kay's sword. Then another goblin threw a spear right at Mickey. It hit him square in the chest, and knocked him out. Donald and Piglet came to their friend's aide and attacked the goblin from either side. Aladdin grabbed Mickey and pulled him behind a pillar. Mickey blinked himself awake.

"You alright there, Mic?" asked Aladdin.

"If it hadn't been for this dwarven breastplate, I'd probably be dead," said Mickey with a smile.

"Now is our only chance, we must run for it!" announced Merlin. Archimedes quickly came down from his perch, he wouldn't have been much good in a fight. Grumpy led the way out and into the next hallway that would hopefully lead them out. They ran as fast as their legs could carry them. Until Mickey noticed something.

"Where are Piglet and Gopher?" he asked alarmed. Everyone turned around and saw the two smallest members of their group way behind, a handful of goblins closing in on them. Robin Hood inadvertently dropped his bow and ran to where they were. Dodging arrows, he picked up Gopher and Piglet in his arms and ran back to the rest of the Fellowship.

"Keep going, we'll catch up!" he shouted. They knew he was right. They kept going, an arrow bounced off Donald's breastplate, and another went right through Merlin's head and just stayed there. They came to a staircase that had a huge break in it, right below was a huge chasm. Robin Hood quickly jumped over, still holding Piglet and Gopher. He set them down and turned to the rest of the Fellowship.

"Merlin, you should probably jump next! You're the oldest!" he shouted.

"Alright, but Archimedes, you fly over first, I don't trust myself to jump with you on my shoulder," he said.

"I can do that!" agreed Archimedes.

"Oh wait, take Abu with you!" shouted Aladdin, taking his monkey out of his vest, and Archimedes gently took the monkey by the shoulders and flew over. That's when Merlin jumped over successfully. Sir Kay then picked up Donald and Grumpy (the latter of whom did not appreciate it) and with a might heave, he jumped over.

"Never do that again! And if anyone breathes a word of that, I'll rip their arms off!" shouted Grumpy. Now Aladdin picked Mickey up and jumped over with him. They kept running, and it wasn't long before they saw the Bridge of Khaza-Dum. They ran right to it, and wasted no time crossing it, but then, a giant fireball appeared and they saw the infamous Chernabog!

"All of you fly, he is beyond any of you! Up the staircase! That goes for you too Archimedes!" ordered Merlin, who approached his gigantic adversary.

"You shall not pass! I am a servant of the secret fire! Wielder of the flame of Ainur! You will not pass!" shouted Merlin. His companions stood frozen in fear as they watched their leader take on this demonic monster.

"Go back to the shadows you foul creature! You shall not pass!" shouted Merlin.

"Sir Kay! With me! The rest of you stay right here!" shouted Aladdin as he and Kay ran to try to aid Merlin. Merlin slammed his staff into the stone bridge creating a giant hole that caused Chernabog to fall. The narrow chasm did not allow him to use his wings to fly out. But he did send a strange luminescent whip to wrap around Merlin and drag him down with him!

"Fly you fools! FLYYYYY!" shouted Merlin before the darkness swallowed him. The two men had no hope of saving their friend.

"We must obey his last command! I will lead you on!" shouted Aladdin. They ran back to the group and quickly ushered them out as more goblins fired arrows at them. Piglet and Donald were now weeping. They saw daylight ahead and rushed right for it, and even when they came to the outside world, they did not stop running until the terrible exit was just a small imprint. They collapsed trying to catch their breath, difficult though that was with all of them near the point of sobbing at that point.

"I know this has been a traumatic experience, but we cannot stop to rest yet," Aladdin told them.

"Give them a moment for pity's sake!" shouted Archimedes.

"By nightfall these hills will be swarming with goblins! It is not safe for us here! We must keep moving!" Aladdin told the owl; he then held his sword up.

"Farewell Merlin! You fought bravely, but now we must continue this quest alone!" he said before sheathing his sword once again, he picked up Abu who approached his master once again and placed the monkey on his shoulder. They began to walk away from that horrible place as quickly as walking would let them. Grumpy allowed Archimedes to perch on his shoulder.

"Guys, I'm sorry about what I said about tearing your arms off. It's just that if any other dwarf heard about that, they'd never take me seriously again. I just didn't want my pride damaged. Now that Merlin's gone, I see that doesn't matter anymore," Grumpy told his companions. Gopher put a gentle hand on the Dwarf's shoulder.

"Nobody blames you my friend," he said.
