"I can't believe you talked me into this."
"What's wrong bugaboo? I thought it would look pawsitivly purrfect on you."
Ladybug outstretched the spiderman suit over her body looking over the details. Instead of the blue, the suit was Red and Black with a massive black spider in the middle of her chest surrounded by a Web.
"How did you get this in black? Isn't spiderman meant to be blue?" Well spider women in her case.
Chat beamed at her, obviously proud he found her colours. "This cat has connections." He pointed to himself proudly.
Ladybug raised an eyebrow at him with a small smug smile. "Really?" She asked. "Then how do you know this would fit me?"
The challenging eye never wavered from her, trying to get as much detail as possible out of him. "I might or might not have measured you during akuma attacks." He sheepishly stated, his hand rubbing the back of his nape out of habit.
She walked over to him, ready to flick his bell and make some smart remark at him but instead he place his finger in front of her and beamed with a thought.
"Oh!" Chat chimed. "I forgot to give you this." He dug down in the box and grabbed some Ladybug antenna's out, placing it on her head while she was still in her confused state. "There! Now you are officially spiderbug."
"Really!" She deadpanned. "Won't this give me away if we come across each other?" Ladybug asked, worried he was going to find out her identity by just a stupid outfit choice.
"No!" He stated confidently. "That's why I also have masks." He then pulled a mask out that was black with red Web across it, similar to her own mask but the sides went up into her hairline more. "That way if we do manage to run into each other we won't know."
Ladybug stared at the mask he handed her and then looked back up at him. "I knew I should've talked you out of this." She protested. "This is not a good idea, nope! I'm calling it!"
She handed back the costume, waiting for Chat to take it from her hands. She was not going through with this, not when it risked their identities.
He pushed it back in her direction and said. "Come on! Do something fun please." He begged. "Besides there are two million Parisian's. Do you really think I'm that lucky?" He asked her, trying to persuade her to take the outfit.
"Okay fine!" She gave up in defeat and folded the suit neatly and tucked it under her arm. "What are you wearing anyways."
"Ahh, I thought you might ask me that..." Chat dug through the box again and pulled out his outfit, adding his own dramatic song to the scene. It almost sounded like... "Batman!" He sung. "Well Bat Noir."
"Bat Noir?" Ladybug laughed. "Your really going to wear a Cape and a leather suit? Won't that give you away?"
"Not if I'm wearing a full head mask." He said, placing on the cape that was connected to a mask that fitted perfectly over his face and hair. "And I also have cat ears to make it more cat like." He placed a headband on his head with cat ears.
"No tail?" She asked, looking in the box from where she was standing for anything else that he had managed to stuff in there.
"Well I was going to but it kept getting tangle in the cape so I left it out." He pouted, upset he couldn't add that small detail to his outfit.
Ladybug snickered and finally flicked his bell, giving him a smirk. "Too bad, I always thought your tail was the best part."
Before he could reply she leap off the building, leaving Chat all flustered and speechless.
"I can't wear this Tikki! Please talk me out of this." Marinette looked to her kwami for help.
"You did promise him Marinette!" She pointed out while munching on a cookie. "Besides, if you don't I lose my bet with Plagg!"
The bluenette turned to her kwami and frowned
"You two betted on me?" She asked annoyed as her kwami nodded sheepishly. "I love how I'm now a bet!"
"Well Plagg was laughing about it, claiming he knows the guardian better than I do and it sort of... happened." Tikki stated. "Besides the outfit choice isn't that bad."
"Shes right girl!"
Alya popped her head in and came up into her room with her own costume on. She was dressed as wonder women, even with the prop of a whip on her hip.
"You're early." Marinette said, still looking over her own costume.
"Actually we're late." Alya pointed out.
She looked at her phone for the time. "But it's only... 7! Why didn't you call me?"
The bluenette rushed around the room, getting herself ready as fast as she could. First placing on her outfit then tying her hair into a high ponytail.
She was applying her make up when Alya asked. "Is this what he picked out for you?"
Alya knew Chat Noir wanted to pick her outfit for Halloween but she didn't expect Marinette to actually go through with it. She was expecting Marinette to talk herself out from going through with it.
"Yep." Marinette popped her P, while applying lipstick on her lips. She turned to her friend before saying. "It gets worse." She put on the Ladybug antenna's and Alya laughed.
"Spiderbug?" Alya was in hysterics.
"I know! And if I wasn't a bet..." She looked towards Tikki, giving her a death stare. "I wouldn't be wearing this in the first place!"
"No! I think it looks good." The reporter tried to hold in her laugh but it failed horribly.
"I'm glad it amuses you!" The bluenette deadpanned.
"Sorry."
After applying her eye-liner, Marinette placed on her mask and turned to her friend, ready to go. They were heading to Luka's house boat for the Halloween party they were hosting.
"Done." She said. "Do I look bad?" Marinette asked, feeling like she looked ridiculous.
"Actually you look amazing." Alya said truthfully. "I got to hand it to that cat, he has some style after all."
"Just don't tell him that or he will get a big head." Marinette laughed, knowing he wouldn't let her live it down if he got praised for his choice.
"Promise."
The girls stepped onto the houseboat, instantly being greeted by Luka, Juleka and Rose. Juleka wasn't really dressed as anything different to her normal style but Rose was a princess with a big puffy dress. Luka had even gone all out, dressing up as the joker.
He grabbed Marinette's hand and turned her on the spot, looking over her outfit. "Spiderbug?" He asked with a knowing smile on his face.
"Yeah a friend of mine picked it out." She said, not mentioning any names.
"Well he has some style." Luka point out, loving her outfit.
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Marinette groaned.
If Chat was here to hear all these compliments he wouldn't let her live this moment down. But she was thankful he wasn't here and he didn't see her actually dressed up.
Luka laughed. "Well you look good and I'm sure Adrien would be impressed as well."
Marinette's eyes blew wide as she grabbed hold of Luka, shelding herself behind him. "He's here? I can't let him see me, you got to hide me!" She said rapidly.
Luka detached her death like grip off of his back and turn to face her, rubbing her shoulders for support. "Just take a breath, he's been here for awhile." He pointed out. "You need to face your fears sooner or later."
"I choose later." Marinette went to take a step off the boat but Luka pulled her back on.
"How about I get you a drink so it will calm your nerves then we will take it one step at a time." Luka reasurred her and she nodded in understanding, her nervousness calming down.
"Okay." She breathed. "That sounds nice."
"Great! Now wait here, I'll be right back." He said and she nodded again.
Luka nodded towards Alya and she nodded back, turning towards Adrien as she asked. "I could really use a drink, do you mind getting me one Sunshine?"
"I can get you one babe." Nino chimed in.
Alya sheepishly smiled and stomped on her boyfriend's foot, making him yelp out. "Oh gee I'm so sorry."
"What the heck!" Nino cried out in pain.
"How about I get some ice for that?" Adrien suggested instead.
"That would be great idea." The reported smirk.
The blonde made his way down to the kitchen, seeking out a icepack for his friends. As he turned the corner he spotted the musician pouring some drinks.
"Would you like one?" Luka asked out of the blue.
"Why not." Adrien smiled and grabbed one of the drinks already on the bench. He looked around the room before he realised why he was down there in the first place."You don't happen to have a ice pack on you at all?"
"Sure do." Luka smiled and stopped pouring the drinks, reaching in the freezer for an ice pack and wrapping it in a tea towel. Adrien awkwardly took a sip, looking around to pass the time. "So Batman?" Luka asked, dragging the blonde attention back to him.
"Uhh, yeah I guess." Adrien looked down at his outfit. "Well Bat Noir." He pointed at his cat ears and Luka laughed.
"Well Bat Noir, would you give this to the lovely lady waiting near the stage, I'll be sure to give this to Alya!" He passed the drink to him and began to walk up the stairs back to the party with the ice pack in his hand.
Adrien looked at the drink confused. "Hey wait!" He called out to Luka. "Who am I giving it to?" He asked.
Luka's voice faded as he continued up the stairs. "You will know."
The blonde weaved through the crowd of people, looking for this mysterious girl Luka had been talking about. He was having no such luck until he spotted a familiar figure in the distance, standing by the stage.
Marinette had been standing there for awhile, scanning the crowd for any sign of Adrien or any of her friends. She had caught sight of Alya and Nino arguing about something but Adrien wasn't anywhere in their sights.
"Looking for someone M'Lady?"
Marinette froze, her breathing had stopped. This was not happening, she was imagining his voice in her head because she was already so stressed out about seeing Adrien.
Turning to confirm, she saw him and instantly went pale. "C-Chat?"
He smirked at her, handing her the drink Luka had given him. "The one and only."
She eyed the drink, almost afraid to take it from his awaiting hands. "What are you doing here?" She asked, finally taking the drink.
He looked at her confused. "I was going to ask you the same thing."
"Well I have friends here." She added, taking a small sip of her drink and instantly regretting sharing that information with him.
"So do I." He mirrored.
"How come I haven't seen you at any other event?" She asked curiously.
"Maybe you have and didn't know it." He suggested, wiggling his eyebrows for the effect. "I'm always the good looking one."
"Please!" She pushed his shoulder playfully, laughing. "I think I would know if I've seen you. Your horrible sense of humour would be a dead giveaway."
Adrien took a sip of his drink and said. "I thought you loved my humour M'lady?"
She rolled her eyes at him and shook her head. "Only when it doesn't give you a big head."
"Well can this big head kitty have a dance?" He asked as the song switched over.
It was a bad idea but she knew she couldn't say no, after all he was her partner and one dance couldn't hurt her.
Placing down their drinks, Marinette boldly grabbed his hand and twirled herself around, laughing when he did a bold move himself and dipped her down and back up.
"I'm surprised you actually dressed up in the outfit I picked out." He said surprised.
"Well if your kwami didn't make a bet with mine I would've bailed on the outfit choice." She answered honestly with a small laugh.
He joined her laughter and said. "So I have to thank Plagg then?"
"Maybe."
He spun her around again and brought her close, this was a bad idea but fun at the same time, all her nerves from earlier had seem to disappear at that moment.
"Alya, look at this." Nino grabbed his girlfriend attention as she was holding the ice pack on his foot.
There Marinette was laughing as she got twirled and dipped down, the smile on her face was so genuine for a second she didn't believe that was her friend with the Adrien Agreste.
They seem too comfortable around each other.
"My dude finally opened his eyes." Nino added.
"I didn't expect them to get along that swimmingly." Alya was confused.
"Maybe they are hitting it off?" Nino suggested but Alya didn't believe it for a second.
Suddenly a light bulb clicked in her head and a smirk began to play on her lips. "Well shit, I think I know why."
"Why?" Nino asked, confused in what his girlfriend was talking about. She began to drag him over to the couple dancing, his cries being carried through the crowd from his sore foot. "What's going on."
Alya hushed him. "Just play along."
They arrive as the song finished and Adrien was kissing her hand. Marinette instantly pushed him up by the nose and scolded him for doing such a thing in public, especially where their friends could see them.
Thats when Alya stepped in.
"Wow Marinette, I didn't realise you and Adrien had such chemistry." She smirked. "You almost had me convinced." She watched as both of them went pale in the face, their eyes immediently locked onto each other as the reality of it all set in. "Then again, I don't think I'm the one who needs convincing."
Alya walked off back through the crowd, leaving the two stunned and unsure in how to react. She instantly saw Luka watching the couple and was laughing himself with their reactions.
"Well I didn't expect it to turn out this well." He said honestly. "How did you manage to do it?"
She fist bumped him and smirked. "Well next time a little heads up with sunshine would've been great."
"Sorry, I thought you knew?"
"Knew what?" Nino asked confused.
"Watching that display it all clicked into place! No wonder why she was so comfortable around him." She added.
"What clicked?" Nino asked sgain, getting no answers from anyone. "What the hell is going on?"
The two ignored him and continued.
"How long do you reckon it will take before they actually speak?" Luka asked, looking at them still standing there.
"Well with Marinette's track record of speaking to Adrien probably never." She laughed.
Nino looked between everyone, still confused on what was happening. "I still don't get it!"
