The next day, we brought everything over to Mary Anne's. We all decided to do the kid kits during a sleepover is the best thing to do. At her house, we spoke to Kristy and the other girls about giving the kids a break from helping during their final two weeks at the camp.
"That would be a good idea. I thought about it," said Kristy.
"They deserved it," said Dawn.
"Oh, we got a few things for the kid kits," said Mary Anne.
"And, for arts and crafts for the fair," said Kathi.
"Okay," said Stacey.
"We decided to add a few things to my kid kits and the girls are going to help out tonight. They're staying over here. We could've done it while the kids watch the movie, but we felt doing it during the sleepover is better," said Mary Anne.
"Yeah, so we can still watch the kids," I said.
"I'll give you girls any leftovers if you need it. Mine was getting low," said Mary Anne.
"I think some of us are good," said Dawn. "I'll check mine."
"Us, too," said Claudia.
"If we need to get more, we'll get more at the mall," said Mary Anne.
"Okay," said Jessi.
"Let me know," said Mary Anne.
We talked about ideas to put things separate. One pile would be for the fair while the rest for the kid kits and we decided to put them in the bag.
"I'll use a marker so we'll know what they're for," said Claudia.
"We can do it that way while they watch the movie to make it faster," said Kristy.
"That way the rest of us can use that for the kid kits," said Patti.
We kept talking about it until the kids arrive. Mary Anne noticed Alan was bugging Kayla. She went over and said, "Leave Kayla alone. She's here to work."
"What happen to that deal?" asked Kaylee.
Somehow, Alan acted better for the rest of the time. When movie time came, we did like we planned. Jessi and Mallory did their turn this time. After we were done, Mary Anne said, "I'll bring the kid kit stuff inside for now to do that later tonight."
"Okay," said Dawn.
"I'll bring the other bag with you," I said.
That's what we did. Claudia's not the best speller, but she's doing it a bit better. She tries hard about having good marks in school. Stacey tells us that Claudia's older sister, Janine, is the genius that doesn't help her, but she does help her sister study for tests when needed to get better grades. Plus, she's only allowed to join the club if she keeps her grades up.
After the camp ended. Mary Anne, Kathi, Patti, and I went to my house. We put things in my room. Mom made dinner tonight. She made it a pasta night: Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli- yum- with garlic bread. We didn't mind for a change. After supper. we put all crafts in her kid kits. Mary Anne gives us great ideas for them when we get our own kits.
"It entertains the kids," said Mary Anne.
"Which is good," said Kathi.
"I don't reward the ones if they're punished unless it's okay by their parents," said Mary Anne.
"Better idea," said Patti.
"I know," said Mary Anne. "We only do it on rainy days. We would also do it if kids miss their parents."
"How about new ones?" I asked.
"We do," replied Mary Anne.
"Oh, good," said Patti.
We finished in no time.
"We can save the rest if the girls need it in the future," said Mary Anne.
We changed up and watched a few movies until we went to bed at 10:00 pm.
The next day, we were up and left with the kid kit.
"Patti and I brought our bags with us and we'll leave them at your house until camp ends for the day," said Kathi.
"Makes sense," said Mary Anne.
At Mary Anne's, she brought in her bag and kid kit. Patti and Kathi put it in Mary Anne's room.
"I'll unpack now since I got time before the kids get here and I'll be out shortly," said Mary Anne.
"Okay," said Patti.
Out there, Mary Anne came out just a few minutes after the kids show up.
"You didn't had to worry. We're out here to help with the kids," I said.
"Oh, okay," said Mary Anne.
The camp went fine all day. The kids are behaved. We took the kids to the park like we did before. We stayed until it was almost time for the part-timers to leave. Then, we had movie time. It was fun for the last few hours until everyone left. Kathi and Patti got their bags before we left for home.
"See you girls tomorrow," said Mary Anne.
"Bye," we said.
