Ginny Weasley and Hermione Granger ran as fast as their legs would take them, throwing behind hexes and curses at the Death Eaters who were after them.

The war had not gone according to plan. Harry was killed so had pretty much everyone they knew.

They were all dead.

Ginny and Hermione were the only ones who had survived. They'd taken refuge in the Muggle World, constantly moving from one place to another, never staying in one place for more than a week.

They had been in Geneva when they were attacked. Even after 2 years, the Death Eaters were looking for her and Hermione.

The two girls had read about how Voldemort had made sure that each person who'd stood against him was either converted or dead. He'd had a list of people. And in those people, the only ones missing were Ginny and Hermione.

"GIN!" Hermione yelled as Ginny tripped because of a curse hitting her, cutting her leg.

Ginny stood up, ignoring the stinging in her leg and grabbed Hermione's arm continuing to run and throw curses behind.

Suddenly, the two girls saw a cave.

"Hermione, there's a cave over there" Ginny said and the two entered it, they began to frantically set the wards. They'd managed to get a safe distance from the Death Eaters.

Finally, after setting the wards, the two girls flopped onto the ground.

"Merlin" Ginny groaned as the pain in her leg became intense. She pulled up the leg of her jeans and Hermione gasped seeing the deep gash on her calf.

"Merlin's beard Ginny...we need to heal that" Hermione said as she pulled out her wand to heal Ginny.

Soon enough, the gash wasn't completely healed but was far better than it was.

Ginny and Hermione ate the little cans of chicken soup and water they carried around always.

"Is this how our life is going to be?" Ginny asked as the two lay on the cave floor after their dinner.

"Apparently" Hermione said "We tried going Muggle too but they always find us. This was what? The 7th time they attacked?"

Ginny nodded "7th and we always manage to survive"

Hermione snorted "These days, I don't know whether that's a blessing or a boon"

"Tell me about it" Ginny said "I wish we could go back in time and fix this all"

Hermione turned to her and leant her head on her palm.

"What would you change?" she asked "If by some miracle, we do manage to go back in time...when would you want to go? And what would you change?"

Ginny thought about it "I'd like to go all the way back to 1970s"

Hermione gave her a shocked look "Not the 80s?When we actually joint Hogwarts?"

Ginny shook her head "If we went back to the 70s, we could stop Voldemort from rising at all. None of what lead to our War would have taken place. We could also save so many people"

Hermione smiled "That's true. But wouldn't that mean you won't ever end up with Harry?"

Ginny looked at her "It's strange you know. I think I never loved him"

"What?" Hermione asked shocked

"Yes. He was my friend, he was my boyfriend but I think somewhere along the way, he became my brother. I wasn't even sad when he broke up with me on Dumbledore's funeral" Ginny said "I loved him, I did. Just not as a lover"

Hermione nodded "I think the same was for me and Ron"

"After so much hurt and frustration and anger,I think my feelings for Ron became simply platonic. There was nothing more to it"

Ginny smiled "Well, what does it matter now anyway? They're dead" she said

Hermione blinked back her tears.

"Yes they are"

As the two girls went to sleep, their thoughts were still on the idea of going back in time and changing things. But they knew that that was all it was-an idea, a dream. It was too good to be true.

Well...maybe.
