Chapter 16
Blast From the Past
UA High is the most prestigious high school for future generations of Pro Heroes in Japan. Anyone who wants to be a hero was educated and taught to be one at this school. Famous heroes, including the Number 1 Pro Hero, All Might, had graduated from this school.
A single bus drove and stopped in the parking lot of the UA High School. The door opened, dropping off a group of young, excited children. They were young, ranging age from five to seven the least. The older kids were taller, standing between 3.5 to 3.7 feet. The younger kids were shorter.
"We're here!" They cheered as they looked at the beautiful UA High. Their eyes sparkled with joy and excitement.
After that, their supervisor came out of the bus, accompanying the kids. She is a young woman with a kind, warm, and pretty face, but her hair hides under a veil. The woman is a nun.
"Alright, children. Settle down, and stay together," she said.
"Yes, Sister Koko," they stated.
In the group, there are different children, in both age and look.
"Come on, you, guys! Let's go and see All Might!" One boy declared. This body had spiky blond hair and sharp eyes.
When he ran off from the group, he hit someone by accident.
"Kyah!" The boy screamed as a scary yet tired-looking man presented him with dry eyes and long black hair.
"Kosuke! Don't run off!" Sister Koko yelled as the said boy returned to her side.
"Greeting, everyone!" Principal Nezu popped out from behind the man's left shoulder. "Welcome to UA High, children from Maria's Orphanage for Gifted Children."
Principal Nezu, accompanied by Erasure Head and Speed Girl, greeted the group of kids with the nun. The group came to UA High for their annual field trip.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Principal Nezu. I'm Sister Koko from the orphanage," Sister Koko introduced.
"We're honored to meet you, Sister Koko, and the children," Principal Nezu said.
"Sister Koko, I will protect you from the weird, mean-looking man!" Kosuke exclaimed, though clinging to Sister Koko's robe due to fear of the man.
She chuckled. "Don't be scared, Kosuke. The man is from UA High."
"Hello. My name is Shota Aizawa, one of the teachers who teach here at UA. I teach in the Hero Course class," Aizawa said in his usual moody tone. "I also go by the name Erasure Head. That's my Pro Hero name."
The kids, including Kosuke, settled down when they heard Aizawa's mention of his Pro Hero name.
"Hi, everybody! My name is Haruka Uno, and I am also a teacher here, teaching in the hero course. My Pro Hero name is Speed Girl!" Haruka greeted excitedly.
"Wow! It's her! It's her!" The children gathered around Haruka, aka Speed Girl.
"My, my! I am already famous!" Haruka said as they surrounded her.
"Yes, they are. We all heard about you, Miss Uno, from one of our children who attends the school," Sister Koko said.
"Yes, I do know who you mean. Usagi, right?" Speed Girl said.
'Now that I think about it. When I read the background file on the students of 1-L, Usagi's place of birth was unknown, and the file mentioned that the orphanage raised her. Her guardian's name is Sister Koko's,' Aizawa thought.
"Well then. Now that we have introduced each other, why don't we start the field trip, kids?" Principal Nezu said.
"Yeah!" The children jumped in joy.
"Then, please follow Ms. Speed Girl and Mr. Erasure Head," Principal Nezu stated.
"OK, kids! Follow me!" Speed Girl said as she held some children's hands with both her hands.
"Remember, everyone. We are on our best behavior, OK?" Sister Koko reminded kindly.
"Yes, Sister Koko," the children responded.
Speed Girl and Erasure Head led the children and Sister Koko inside the main building of the school. There, they saw some UA students passing by. They noticed the kids, but they didn't bother them and mind at all, so they went off with their usual business, like any other day.
"Now, where should we see first?" Speed Girl asked.
"I want to see All Might!" One of the children shouted.
"Me too!" "Me three" "Me fourth!" "I need to go to the potty!"
"Right now?" Aizawa moaned.
"OK, but first." She grabbed the child who said he wanted to go to the bathroom, ran off at lightning speeds, and then came back in less than 10 seconds.
"Wow," the children were impressed.
"Oh my. That was quite fast," Sister Koko awed.
"That's my Quirk. My Quirk is Super Speed, which allows me to go super fast," Speed Girl explained. "Mr. Erasure Head's Quirk is Erasure. When he looks at people, he erases their Quirk, but only temporarily, and when he blinks, the effect of his Quirk goes away."
"Cool," the children awed.
"Hey, I know! Why don't we check out some of the classrooms here? Who wants to see them?" Speed Girl asked friendly.
"Yeah!" They agreed.
"This is gonna be a long day," Aizawa sighed as Sister Koko grinned at him with a remark.
As the field trip tour guide, Speed Girl took everyone to see some of the classes at UA High. They first stopped and checked out the business course Class 1-K.
"The first class to see is the Business Course," Speed Girl said. "Welcome to Class 1-K, one of the Business Course classes."
The classroom looked like what you should expect in the business course class, a business office.
At UA High, there are four types of courses: Hero, General Education, Support, and Business. Students in the Business Course create and manage hero agencies. They also work on advertisements for future pro heroes.
Some were busy working on filing, others having a meeting at the whiteboard, and some were designing posters. Some of the kids looked interested.
"The next class is the Support course," Speed Girl said as they walked closer to one of the lab rooms used by one of the Support classes.
As they approached the lab room, the door exploded, releasing a cloud of black smoke. Speed Girl and others stared before they realized what just happened.
"What was that?!" One of the kids gasped.
"Ah!" Sister Koko screamed a little.
"Watch out!" Erasure Head shielded the num.
"Everyone, stay together and calm down!" Speed Girl exclaimed as she stood at the front.
"Hatsume, what have I told you?!" They heard someone yelling from inside the lab.
As the smokes cleared, they noticed one student laying on the floor with her head face down.
"Don't worry, Power Loader sensai!" The pink-haired girl with googles got up cheerfully. "Failure is just one step to perfection! I will get it right next time! Now, time to work on my next invention."
"No! No, no, no!" Power Loader disagreed. "You need to take a rest! This accident is like the third time this week the lab exploded, and a total of 15 times this year!"
"14," Hatsume corrected.
"It doesn't matter! I don't know how Principal Nezu can forgive you like this, and…." Power Loader stopped yelling when he saw the surprised group staring at him and Hatsume.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there," Power Loader said.
"Um, yeah, well…" Speed Girl changed the topic quickly. "Everyone, please meet Mr. Power Loader! He's another Pro Hero who teaches here at UA High! He teaches the students in the Support class!"
"Nice to meet ya, kids," he greeted.
"Woah! Power Loader sounds cool," one of the boys commented.
"What are you making?" One of the girls asked.
"Well, we make a lot of stuff …."
"Do you kids want to see my latest inventions, my babies?!" Hatsume asked excitedly, interrupting the teacher.
"Yeah!" The kids answered.
They looked inside the lab as Hatsume showed off her invention she created. Power Loader showed off and explained the Support Course and what the students do in this class.
The students in the Support Course are the people who will help to create costumes and other essential gears for future Pro Heroes. There are many famous, big support hero companies globally, and UA High has one of the world's prestigious support courses. Many of the support graduates go on and work at big companies.
"What is this do-hickey do?" Kosuke asked. He was looking at what appeared a silver planter with some buttons and a plant growing from it.
"Ah, you have a good eye!" Hatsume stated. "That's my Plant-O-Grower! It helps to grow plants more efficiently. I modeled it after the famous Pro Hero in the farming industry, Plantman!"
"So, it helps to grow plants? Interesting…" Another kid joined in the conversation. This kid was a girl with black glasses and a brown pigtail.
"Hmm, it's cool and all, but when I grow up, I want to be in the Hero Course!" Kosuke claimed. "You like this stuff, don't you, Annie-chan?"
"Yes, indeed," Annie nodded.
"By giving this plant specimen a little special elixir I made…." Hatsume demonstrated as she had a test tube with strange blue liquid and used it on the plant. "The plant's growth will increase twice faster than normal!"
Suddenly, the plant grew bigger. Kosuke and Annie were impressed.
After meeting Power Loader and Hatsume, the group headed to the next class. They were leading to the area of the campus for General Education. However, that same plant that Hatsume showed for one of her inventions started growing bigger and bigger without noticing it.
On their way to the General Education area, they were greeted by two other teachers coming in their direction.
"Yo, what's up, Speed Girl and Mummy Man!" Present Mic waved at them.
"Hello, Mr. Present Mic," Speed Girl greeted back.
"Would you stop calling me that? I am not in bandages anymore," Aizawa said.
"I see you have some cute kiddies with you," Midnight commented as she looked over the children. "They all look so cute!"
"Everyone, meet the Voice Hero Present Mic and R-Rated Hero Midnight," Speed Girl introduced them to the children.
"R-Rated?" Kosuke repeated. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Ah, well, children, it means ah….." Sister Koko sweated nervously. She and others didn't want to say what it was mean due to how inappropriate it is for their age.
"It means that she is a wrecker-rated hero. Yeah! Wrecker-rated hero!" Speed Girl declared.
The other teachers looked at her with a sweatdrop.
"You know that starts with a letter W, right?" Aizawa whispered.
"Just play along, Mr. Aizawa. Let the kids imagine it," she replied.
Present Mic and Midnight greeted and waved goodbye to the children as they go on their way.
"And here in this area belongs to the students in the General Education course," Speed Girl said as they entered the area.
"What do you do here?" Annie asked.
"Well, you see, they do generally study. Anyone who took the entrance exam but didn't pass goes here," Speed Girl explained.
"That sounds boring," Kosuke commented.
"Now, now, Kosuke. That isn't a nice thing to say," Sister Koko scolded.
"What do they study here?" A girl said in a cute, timid voice. This girl had pale skin and long black hair, which covered half of her face, and it went down near her knees. Only her left purple eye showed.
"I am curious, too. Shatoko," Sister Koko noted.
"Well, they study all kinds of stuff. Students who graduate from this course become normal office workers, factory workers, teachers, and all kinds of things. Mostly non-heroic job, but we do offer a chance for any of them to move to the Hero course if they prove themselves," Aizawa explained.
"Prove by how?" Kosuke asked.
"Aizawa-sensai?" They stopped to see a blue-haired boy approaching the group. It was Shinso from the General Study.
"Hey there, Shinso," Aizawa greeted.
"Who are these kids?" Shinso asked.
"They are kids from Maria's Orphanage for Gifted Children. They are here for their field trip, and Speed Girl and I are their tour guides," Aizawa explained.
"I see," Shinso said as he kneeled to greet the kids, eye to eye. "My name is Shinso. How are you enjoying the field trip?"
"It is not bad, but I want to see the hero…. Ah." Sosuke answered directly to Shinso's question, which caused him to go blank due to Shinso's Quirk.
"Sosuke? Sosuke, are you alright?" Sister Koko said, padded the boy's shoulder, which snapped him out.
"Huh? What did I do?" He asked.
The other kids laughed as they only knew what happened to him, which they found funny. Sosuke just looked even more confused and sort of annoyed, but one kid in the group didn't laugh at all or even look happy. This kid had pale white skin, messy black hair, and black eyelids.
"Oh, sorry about that, Miss," Shinso apologized. "He fell into my Quirk's power. It is called Brainwash, which if someone answers back my questions or says something back at me, their minds go blank, and I can control them by saying commands at them."
"Interesting," Annie said.
"You can mind-control people? That's so cool! Maybe General Study isn't so bad!" A peppy girl hopped around.
This girl had bowl-cut brown hair with two green antennas coming out from the top of her head. Her eyes were big and yellow.
"Yes, indeed, Hana. Don't jump too high," Sister Koko said as she padded on her head to stop her hopping.
"Many students in the General Study have some interesting Quirks, but they were put here one reason or another. However, as I said before, if you can prove yourself, you can move to the hero course class," Aizawa stated. "Like, for example, Shinso here is training to be stronger than he was before to transfer into the hero class."
The kids awed at his words. They were staring at him because they saw a sign of interest in him. They thought he looked scary at first, but they were amazed at how knowledgeable he is, and his word sounded very encouraging, which was kind of ironic compared to how he treats his students. Speed Girl grinned as they continued with their tour.
"Speaking of which…. Tada!" They arrived at the campus building's area for the Hero Classes.
"I saved this place for last! Welcome to the Hero Course area! This building area is where all the students who want to become a Pro Hero learn!"
The students were waiting for this. "We have three classrooms. Two of which are empty, but one of them is in-class right now. Let's check them out, shall we?"
Speed Girl knocked on the door and opened the door. "Excuse me! We are here!"
They entered the middle of the lesson for Class 1-A. The teacher, who was giving a lecture, was Cementoss.
Class 1-A turned to see Speed Girl and some bunch of kids coming in.
"Oh, hello, Speed Girl and Erasure Head. May I help you?" Cementoss asked.
"Hey you all, are you behaving well?" Aizawa turned to his students.
"Aizawa-sensai, what are you doing here, sir?" Tenya asked. "And who are these children, if I may ask?"
"Ah, I see." Cementoss was just talking with Speed Girl before he turned to the class. "Everyone, they are children from Maria's Orphanage for Gifted Children. They are here on a field trip, and Speed Girl and your homeroom teacher, Mr. Erasure Head, are giving them a tour around the school."
"Ah, I see! How rude of me!" Tenya got up and bowed. "I am sorry for my rudeness."
The kids were confused, but Sister Koko stepped in.
"Oh, no, no! You don't need to apologize to us. It wasn't our intention to interrupt in the middle of the class. We just wanted to show the children how UA teaches students to be a Pro Hero," Sister Koko said.
"Woah… Hey, Midoriya!" Mineta whispered to him, who was sitting in front of him. "That chic looks beautiful! I wonder who she is!"
"Mineta, don't even think about it!" Jiro used her earphone jack to plug into the boy's ear, and the sound it made shocked him.
"On a field trip, ribbit? That's cute," Asui commented.
"Hmph! So annoying," Bakugo mumbled as Midoriya smiled nervously at his remark at Bakugo.
'Kacchan,' he thought as he sweat-dropped.
"Everyone, this is Class 1-A, one of the three hero classes. Just like in normal school, they are taking a lesson right now with Mr. Cementoss, who teaches modern literature," Speed Girl explained.
The students were very interested, though not in the subject the class is learning in right now, but rather the students themselves. Each of them gathered the students, causing a bit of havoc, and they weren't listening to Speed Girl at all.
"Hey, I remember you! You are the guy who won the sports festival a few weeks ago!" Kosuke pointed.
"Um, yes, that's right!" Midoriya nodded as Sosuke, and other boys surrounded him.
"You are Uraraka Ochacho! I remember you in that one vs. one battle! You were so cool back then!" Hana jumped in joy.
"Oh! Um, thank you," Ochacho said, blushing.
"Excuse me, but what is the qualification to join the hero course at UA High?" Annie asked Yayaorozu, who looked quite surprised by the young girl's question.
"Well, there are many ways. For you see…" Yayaorozu began explaining.
Cementoss and Speed Girl were a bit shocked as they sweat-dropped to see all this.
"The children are very engaging with the students of Class 1-A," Cementoss noted.
"They sure are…." Speed Girl noticed.
"Sorry about all this, Cementoss," Aizawa said before he turned to Sister Koko. "Sister Koko, we should gather the kids and get going. The students need to get back into the class. Sister Koko?"
Sister Koko was staring for a moment. She was staring at how engaging her kids were with Class 1-A.
"Sister Koko?" Aizawa snapped her out from her thought. "Shall we get going?"
"Ah, yes! We should!" She agreed. "Alright, children! We should get going next as the class needs to get back to their lesson."
The children waved their goodbye at Class 1-A as they left the room. The students waved back in response, more specifically like Midoriya and Ochacho. Other students smiled, but only Bakugo looked a bit annoyed and mumbled to himself.
Everyone was walking through the hallway until they arrived back at the center hall of the campus's main building.
"Well, what do you all think about UA High so far?" Speed Girl asked kindly.
"It is awesome! I can't wait to grow up and come here and learn!" Sosuke exclaimed.
"Me, too! Me, too! I want to be a student here, too!" Hana jumped in joy.
"I thought UA High would be more about learning to be a hero, but there are many other options, and I would like to attend here someday," Annie said.
"I think… it's not bad. I would like to, um, join too," Shatoko said shyly.
Speed Girl gave a big smile while Erasure Head looked indifferent as usual.
"That's fantastic! All of you have a chance to join here, some days, and maybe some of you would be my future students," Speed Girl said happily.
"Hey, Miss Speed Girl." Everyone turned their head around while Speed Girl and Aizawa looked over to the source of the voice.
A lone kid said the call at the back behind the group. This boy had messy cyan hair, yellow eyes, and pale white skin. His clothes were primarily white except for his shoes, which were black. He also wore blue mittens for his hands.
"Yes, and who are you, kiddo?" Speed Girl asked.
"His name is Kyota," Sister Koko stated. "Do you have something to say to Miss Speed Girl, Kyota?"
"Yes, I do," Kyota said as he walked to the front as the kids stepped back to let him through. "Everything you show us is boring."
"Huh? Huh?!" Speed Girl gasped as Aizawa didn't react at all.
The other children and Sister Koko were shocked, too.
"Kyota-Kun, what are you talking about?" Hana asked with a surprised look.
"Yeah! UA High is awesome! This is like the best field trip we've ever been to!" Kosuke argued. "What? You don't think this is fun, do you?"
"I am not here for fun," Kyota scowled, scaring Kosuke as he stepped back a bit.
"I want to see the real deal. I don't want to see some lame classes. I want to see some actions. I want to see the real things that make a pro hero a hero," Kyota demanded.
Speed Girl was surprised by this boy's serious look, which scared her a bit.
"If you want to see the real thing," Aizawa spoke up as he stepped in. "Then follow me."
"Huh? Wait, Mr. Erasure Head? Where are we going?" Speed Girl asked as he was walking away before he stopped and looked over his shoulder.
"Like what that boy said, I am going to show him the real deal. Follow me, everyone," Erasure Head stated.
Everyone followed Erasure Head, who was now leading them. After 10 minutes of walking, they arrived at the USJ, the facility used for hero students to train for disaster.
"This is USJ…" Speed Girl said, looking at the facility as they all stood at the entrance to the facility.
"What is this place?" Kosuke asked.
"It looks huge, bigger than the school itself," Annie noted.
"Just like how you showed my class, Speed Girl, I am going to present them to your class." Speed Girl's eyes widened as they walked through the entrance.
Once they were inside, they started hearing a lot of noises. The kids soon turned their curiosity into excitement as they watched what was happening inside this dome structure.
"Is this?" Sister Koko asked.
"This facility is Unforeseen Situation Joint or USJ, where we train our students for situations when natural disasters happen and how to manage if such events happen," Erasure Head explained. "And right now, our third hero class is in the middle of their lesson here by one of our faculty members.
The kids awed while Kyota watched in silence. They were in the central plaza, where a person was standing in front of a huge monitor, showing multiple displays for each area inside the facility.
The said person noticed the group. "Um? Erasure Head and Speed Girl?"
"Hello, Miss Thirteen," Erasure Head greeted. "These kids are from Maria's Orphanage for Gifted Children, and I am showing them how students learn to be a hero. Due to the current time, I thought to show these kids how we do things and the 'real deal."
"I see, I see," Thirteen nodded. "I am fine with that, and let me explain it from here."
"Hello, children. My name is Thirteen. I am a faculty member who works at UA High, and I control and maintain this facility," Thirteen introduced herself.
"Are you a teacher as well, Miss Thirteen?" Annie asked politely, raising her hand.
"Well, technically, I am not a teacher, but I help teach the students here how to handle natural disasters. For you see, I am a rescue hero and question; does anyone know what a rescue hero does?" Thirteen said.
"Yeah! They rescue people, right?" Hana said.
"That's correct!" Thirteen replied.
"But isn't that what all pro heroes do, like All Might? He rescued, saved a lot of people," Kosuke stated.
"Yes, that is true. Pro Heroes like All Might rescue people, but some heroes specialize in one specific area, such as me as a rescue hero. All Might and others alike can deal with many things other than rescue heroes," Thirteen said.
"Light fighting villains," Kyota added.
"That's correct, young lad," Thirteen nodded. "Right now, Class 1-L, one of the hero classes here at UA High, is in a simulation. They are put in a group called rescuers. Each group is put in each different zone we have here at USJ, and they must find the dummy civilian in time."
"So that explains why there are multiple things shown on this monitor," Sister Koko stated.
"That's right, Sister Koko," Aizawa said. "The members of each group must work together to find the civilian in help, and the timer on display shows how long they are spending, correct, Miss Thirteen?"
"That's right," Thirteen said. "It is preferable if they complete in a short amount of time. In a dire situation, time is a matter of importance because civilians who need help or saving may be in great danger if time passes. That is why heroes must act swiftly and efficiently to save as many people as possible."
"Hey, look!" Hana started jumping and pointing at one of the displays on the monitor. "There's Big Sis Usagi!"
"Where?" Kosuke asked as the kids looked at the right to see the display.
"Now, now. Let me make it easier for you all to see her," Thirteen said as she pressed something on the control panel.
The monitor changed and showed the said girl in full display. The children cheered while Kyota just watched in silence.
- My Hero Academia –
Usagi, Makoto, and Arisa were in the same group together. They were in the Ruins Zone, an area that simulates a destroyed urban environment.
"Do you see anyone?" She shouted.
"No around here!" Makoto replied.
"Not here, either," Arisa said.
Then, one of Usagi's ears twitched. "Hey, I hear something! Over there!" Usagi jumped down and hopped to the place where she heard the noise.
"I found him! I found the dummy!" Usagi shouted as she indeed did. It was stuck inside the rumble. "Let's get him out quick!"
"Hold it, Usagi!" Arisa stopped her.
"Hey, what's the big deal?" Usagi huffed.
"Arisa's right, Usagi. Look!" Makoto showed her the rumble that trapped the dummy. "See how oddly these rumbles are? They are conditionally balanced. If we start moving the rumble out of the way, it may collapse, and the dummy civilian will be crushed."
"Holy carrot! You are right, and I didn't notice it," Usagi said sadly.
"Don't worry, Usagi. We just have to find a way to remove the rumble without causing it to collapse," Arisa noted.
"Right," Makoto nodded. "Let's start working from here."
- My Hero Academia –
The children watched Usagi and her group with interest, doing their work to remove the rumbles safely.
Thirteen nodded. "Hm, hm. Not bad. Makoko notices the balance of the rumble soon. It is important to be aware of your surroundings before you take any action. Just going head-on, even if it means to save a civilian, can be fatal to you and the civilians who need rescue."
"Usagi…" Sister Koko watched as she showed an interest in the lesson. Speed Girl noticed and grinned.
"Of course, they are my students. I taught them about that," Speed Girl said proudly.
"Though, one of your students needs more work, especially that Usagi girl," Aizawa pointed.
"Um, right…" Speed Girl said.
After five minutes passed, each group successfully rescued all the dummy civilians. They managed to do it in under 20 minutes. They gathered back at the central plaza, where Thirteen and others were waiting.
Usagi, Makoko, and Arisa came in last. As they walked to the center plaza, expecting to meet the rest of the class and Thirteen, Usagi stopped and smiled.
"Big Sis Usagi!" The children ran towards her.
"Holy Carrot!" Usagi stampeded by the mob of children.
She recovered quickly, then started hugging and padding on the kids' heads. Makoko and Arisa watched her with a sweat-drop and confused look.
"Why are you guys doing here?" She asked.
"We are on a field trip!" Kosuke exclaimed.
"You were awesome, Big Sis Usagi!" Hana jumped in joy.
"I learned a lot from watching you," Annie said.
"I think, um… you did well, Usagi-nee-chan," Shatoko commented shyly. Nee-chan means "big sister or older sister in Japanese." It is used to referring someone who is a sister to you. It can be used for describing someone who is not your relative, too.
"Ah, thank you guys," Usagi said, feeling grateful.
"Usagi." She looked up to see Sister Koko, who was delighted to see her caretaker.
"Sister Koko, you're here, too!" She explained as she hugged the nun.
"I am glad to see you are doing well in school," Sister Koko said. "Although, I thought you knew that we would be coming here. Didn't you get my message a couple of days ago?"
"Huh…. Oh! HOLY CARROT!" Usagi gasped over-dramatically. "I forgot all about it!"
"You don't have to be that dramatic!" Both Makoto and Arisa stated.
"Yo, Usagi." Eli joined in. "We all met these kids and Sister Koko. They are here on their field trip and wanted to see how we do things as a hero and stuff."
"Really? All of you were watching us?" Usagi asked the kids.
"That's what we said!" Hana stated.
"Yeah! You are awesome, and so are your friends, like Eli, Drago, and Felicia," Kosuke admitted.
"Ahhh, thank you," Usagi said tearfully as she hugged them all. Then she noticed one other kid, who was standing a bit far from the group. "Oh, hey. I've never seen you before. My name is Sakura Tsubomi, but everyone calls me Usagi. What's your name?"
"I'm… Kyota," Kyota introduced coldly as he looked the other way.
"He's new, but he doesn't talk with us or hang out with us at all," Kosuke noted.
"Kosuke!" Sister Koko yelled at him.
"But it's true!" Kosuke replied. "Besides, he is the one who made Mr. Erasure Head bought here, so he can see the 'real deal' or whatever he said."
"The real deal?" Usagi repeated as he looked at her classmates.
They nodded in response, not knowing precisely what it means, but Kai stepped in and said, "I think what he means is to see how heroes are trained to be heroes. I assume that this kid, Kyota wanted to see how hero students train to be a hero, rather than seeing classes and thinking that to be boring."
"But Kai, I did my best to show them around the school," Speed Girl said in a sad baby-toned voice while crying.
Erasure Head looked at her with careless eyes. "There is no reason to cry about it."
"Oh, I see!" Usagi understood as she turned her attention back at Kyota. "Well, Kyota, I don't know if what you saw us do here taught you anything, but everyone here, including me, are doing our best to be Pro Heroes someday. I hope you are inspired in some ways."
Kyota didn't look inspired or impressed even. "Whatever. Let's get going, anyway. It's almost lunchtime."
"Looking at the time, it is almost noon," Speed Girl said. "Time flies when you have fun!"
"OK! Then let's go to the cafeteria hall to eat! Come on, kids!" Usagi declared as the children lined up in a straight line.
"All aboard on the train! Next stop, the cafeteria hall!" Usagi started moving with the children behind her.
"Yeah!" They cheered as they followed her and moved with her as they pretended to be a train.
Her classmates sweat-dropped at her.
"That's so cute!" Speed Girl shrieked.
"Does she always act like this?" Akihiko asked Arisa.
"Well, not most of the time for sure," Arisa said honestly.
"Indeed," Felicia nodded. "Though, I've never seen this side of Usagi before."
"I see. Well, Usagi seems to be good at dealing with kids," Akihiko commented as he grinned.
"It appears so," Haia noted.
A little bit later, everyone headed to the cafeteria hall for lunch. The orphanage sat together at a long table, prepared ahead of time by Lunch Rush and his kitchen staff. Usagi and her classmates and friends, Arisa, Felicia, Kai, Eli, Akihiko, and Haia, joined. Members of Class 1-A also joined them: Midoriya, Ochaco, Tsuyu, Yayaorzu, Iida, and Todoroki. Alongside Erasure Head and Speed Girl, there were 28 people at the table.
Lunch Rush and his staff also prepared the food. It was a buffet, with the delicious chicken in the middle. All the other students in the cafeteria hall saw them, and some looked jealous of how delicious the foods look at their table.
"Holy Carrot! These dishes look so yummy!" Usagi exclaimed as she was drooling.
"Seriously, dudette. This is like the best," Eli added as he was also drooling.
"You two, cover your mouths," Kai pointed out.
"Well then, we have a wonderful lunch prepared by our finest kitchen staff who always prepare and cook our lunches here at UA High," Speed Girl announced. "How about let's dig in then!"
"Yeah!" Kosuke agreed as he stood up. "I'm starving!"
"Hold, everyone." Everyone stopped what they were doing or what they were going to as they turned their attention to Sister Koko. "Remember what we have to do before we eat."
"Oh right," Kosuke said as he sat back on his seat.
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot," Usagi said.
"What's going on?" Ochaco asked.
"Oh!" Midoriya gasped to realize it. "Uraraka-san, I think Sister Koko wants all of us to pray with her."
"Oh! OK," she said as she joined their hands in a praying position.
Sister Koko began the prayer. "O our Heavenly Father, we are grateful for this meal and our time here so far in our special field trip at UA High. The people here are too kind, and we appreciate their kindness from the bottom of our hearts. Let's enjoy this meal together as we say our prayer and thanks to this meal to you, our lord and savior. Amen."
"Amen!" Everyone said.
"Alright. You can eat now," Sister Koko stated. Right after she said that, the kids began gobbling up everything they can touch, including Usagi.
"Blimey! They are starving then I expected!" Felicia gasped.
"Seriously," Arisa said, looking a bit shocked too.
"Thank you so much for everything, Miss Speed Girl and Mr. Erasure Head," Sister Koko talked with the two teachers.
"It's no problem, Sister Koko. We are just doing our best, that's all," Speed Girl said as she bites on a chicken leg. "Mmmm, chicken."
"We are just doing our job, that's all," Erasure Head said, taking a sip of coffee. "Though, I got to say. Some of your kids are interesting, especially that Kyota boy. May I ask something about you?"
"Um, sure. What would you like to ask of me?" Sister Koko asked, looking a bit nervous.
At the same time, the students of Class 1-A and 1-L were talking with some of the kids.
"Someday, I am gonna be the hero, like All Might!" Kosuke declared. "I'm going to be strong, cool, and brave, like him because he is my favorite!"
"That's good to hear, Kosuke-Kun!" Midoriya exclaimed. "He is my favorite, too."
"I want to be a hero, too, but maybe in the rescue job or something similar," Hana stated.
"That sounds terrific idea, Hana-chan," Ocahco said.
"I agree, ribbit. It sounds like you want to be like Miss Thirteen," Asui commented.
"Yup!" Hana nodded as she hopped joyfully.
"… And that's how you can be qualified for UA High via recommendation system," Momo finished explaining to Annie.
"I see, I see. Then, I must start studying if I have the chance to get recommended for this school," Annie said.
"Well, it sounds like to me you are a brilliant girl, Annie. I am sure you have the chance to get in the recommendation for UA High someday," Momo noted.
"I… I want to be part of the UA High if my friends go, too," Shatoko said, talking with Akihiko.
"Of course you can! But, even so, you can also make new friends, too. There are a lot of people here, and someday when you grow up, you will meet people who you can befriend," Akihiko encouraged the girl.
"Oh… OK," Shatoko said, blushing a bit as Akihiko grinned.
Arisa looked at everyone, talking with the children and getting along with them.
"Do you see all of this, Kai?" She asked the boy, who was sitting next to her. "Everyone's getting along so well with the children from Usagi's orphanage."
"Not everyone, though," Kai stated as he looked over at the only kid who was talking with anyone.
Arisa noticed the kid. It was Kyota. Arisa was thinking of walking over to the boy's side and talking with him, but before she did, someone else did it for her.
"Hey, Kyota." The boy looked up to see Usagi. "Do you want to talk with anyone here?"
"Not really. I am not interested," Kyota answered as he drank his orange juice from a juice box.
"You know. You remind me of someone I used to know." Kyota listened. "He is an old friend of mine, and we grew up together with Sister Koko."
"You did? What happened to him?" Kyota asked.
"Well, when he became seven years old, he was adopted, but he had to live somewhere far, far away. However, before he went away to live with his new parents, we made a promise to become a hero someday and see each other," Usagi explained. "He used to be this quiet kid, who thinks he was better than everyone, and he was kind of like that, but we became a good friend."
"So… What are you saying?" Kyota questioned.
Usagi grinned. "I guess what I am trying to say is that if you open up a bit and make friends with everyone here, then things will become a bit brighter in life. That's the moral lesson!"
"Kyaaaaaahhhh!" Someone screamed so loudly that everyone turned their attention to it.
"Wh-What is this thing?!" A female student screamed. At the exit/entrance of the cafeteria hall, strange, giant green vines were expanding, getting inside the cafeteria hall.
It grabbed the said screaming female student, along with other students in the near vicinity. Then, a mouth grew out, which looked like a Venus Flytrap. It roared like a monster.
"Holy Carrot! What is that thing?!" Usagi pointed.
"Everyone, stay calm and run through the back hallway!" Aizawa ordered them. "My class and other hero students, protect the children and everyone else!"
The hero students nodded. Midoriya and Ochaco grabbed Kosuke and Hana respectfully.
"This way, children!" Sister Koko led the kids to the back hallway.
"Come on, Kyota!" Usagi grabbed the boy's mittened hand as they ran away from the growing plant creature.
Aizawa used his Quirk on it, but it didn't work.
"My Quirk! It's not stopping it!" Aizawa stated.
"Then, it's not a Quirk user! It is a real monster!" Speed Girl exclaimed.
"No, there must be a logical reason behind it. It must be the…Ah!" One of the vines grabbed Aizawa by his foot.
"Erasure Head!" Speed Girl shouted before the vines grabbed her.
She tried to run off, but the vines held on to her more substantial than her, so she was pulled away, too.
Meanwhile, Class 1-A and L members led the orphanage to safety, but on their way, they were attacked by more vines that crashed through a wall, blocking their path.
"They are coming out of the wall!" Eli exclaimed.
"Just where are these vines from?!" Momo yelled.
"Everyone! This way! To the outside!" Iida stated as everyone turned to the left, away from the vines. Iida made sure that nobody was left behind. He moved last, but the vines caught him.
Midoriya turned around to see him being dragged.
"Iida-Kun!" Midoriya yelled.
"Do not worry about me, Midoriya-kun! Go ahead! I will be just fiiiinnnne!" Iida was dragged entirely away by the vines as it continued to grow.
"Iida-Kun!" Midoriya yelled.
"Deku-Kun, hurry!" Ochaco yelled at him.
Midroya gritted but turned back.
Everyone managed to get away from the vines. They were at the outdoor plaza, where students can relax and enjoy the beautiful garden and fountain.
"Is everyone alright?" Sister Koko asked.
"Yeah, I think so," Usagi answered. "All the children are here, Sister Koko."
Suddenly, the vines had outgrown, and then three Venus Flytraps crashed through the rooftop of the buildings. Several vines stretched out through the broken hole in the ceiling. They noticed the vines entangled the people.
"Look, Deku-kun! There's Iida-Kun!" Ochacho pointed.
"This thing is too tight!" Iida complained as he tried to loosen it out of the vines but to no avail.
Other people that the strange plant creature entangled were Erasure Head, Speed Girl, members of the UA faculty, including Principal Nezu. Some of their classmates, like Sero, Kirishima, Hagakure (who they can tell because it was holding something there, but it wasn't due to her Quirk, Invisibility), and the vines trapped others from Class 1-A. Members of Class 1-L, like Tatsumi, Yuki Drago, Aku, and everyone else was also trapped. There were even Neito Monomo and Itsuka Kendo, too.
"Holy Carrot, it has everyone from our class, teachers, and other people from other classes!" Usagi screamed.
"My oh my!" They heard a familiar voice, revealing to be Hatsume from the Support Class.
"It's Hatsume from the Support Class!" Midoriya stated.
"It seems like my baby works too well! My Pant-O-Grower works! This goes to my success list," Hatsume said.
"Not the good time now, Hatsume!" Power Loader scolded her before vine wrapped around his mouth.
"Mfffff, mfffff!" Bakugo struggled to get out of the vines, but it was not affecting it at all.
"Kacchan!" Midoriya cried.
"What are we going to do, man?! That thing captures all the teachers, and we may be the only ones left!" Eli said.
"There is nothing else to do but stand our ground here," Todoroki said as he stepped forward.
"We don't have any other choice," Kai added. "We have to fight back, protect the kids, and save our school."
"That's right. We have to fight and protect!" Midoriya declared.
Eli smirked, joining in with the guys. "Now that's what I like to hear!" He turned to the girls. "You girls protect Sister Koko and the kids."
"I will join with you guys," Akihiko said, stepping in. "What kind of person I would be if I don't fight back, you know?"
"I will join, too!" Usagi hopped in.
"Big Sis Usagi!" The children exclaimed.
"Usagi!" Usagi turned to the kids and the kind num with a smile. "Don't worry, everyone! We will handle things here!"
"We will protect the kids!" Momo decided as the other girls nodded to that.
"Alright then," Midoriya nodded back to the girls and then looked at each of the guys, including Usagi.
They were all on the same page and connected. "So, what do you have to do first?" Eli asked.
"We need to save everyone who is tangled by those vines," Midoriya stated.
"Then, I will cut them, my scythe!" Eli said as his arms changed into a mantis scythe.
"I will burn it," Todoroki said as his left arm burned in flames. "I can also use my ice to block any incoming attacks and freeze the vines."
"Let's try not to cause too much damage when this thing already had," Kai noted.
"Right!" Usagi agreed. "This thing will pay for ruining the kids' field trip!"
"Let's go then!" Midoriya started, roaring as his energy surged through his body and whispered something to himself.
"One For All: Full Cowling – 5%!"
The plant creature started to attack first. They dodged out of the way. Todoroki used his fire to burn the vines entangling the students and teachers, but thicker vines grew out of the ground and blocked his fire attack.
Todoroki gasped. "Guys, be careful! This thing is smarter than it looks! It can block our attacks, too!"
"Then, I will just cut things through!" Eli exclaimed as vines grew out of the ground but retaliated by cutting them down.
The plant creatures roared with their three heads, signifying that they felt the pain from Eli's cut. Then, more vines grew out of the ground and moved towards Eli.
Eli quickly changed his back to grow wings. He flew away just in time to dodge out of harm. Usagi kicked the vines, and Kai punched the vines. Akihiko kicked and beat his way out of the vines.
Todoroki used his right arm to summon ice, freezing some of the vines. Midoriya ran up the vine to one of the creatures' mouths.
"Detroit…. Smash!" He punched one of the heads. It was strong enough that it caused juice to come out.
The plant creature cried in pain and used the vine to whip at Midoriya.
"Gah!" Midoriya got hit.
"Deku-kun!" Ochaco cried.
Fortunately, Usagi jumped and grabbed Midoriya before he hit the ground.
"Don't worry! I got you!" She said as she landed.
"Um, thanks!" Midoriya's face blushed a bit as Usagi allowed him to stand up on his feet again.
Todoroki tried to use fire and ice power to destroy the vines that were trapping the other people. Eli also helped, but the plant creature reacted too well that it won't let them get nearby.
"We can't get near to save everyone! Not even one person!" Eli complained.
"We have to keep trying! There's got to be an opening!" Todoroki stated.
"I know!" Akihiko got an idea. "I will distract them!"
"Wait, what?" Eli gasped as his new classmate ran towards the creature. "Hey, wait, man! It's too dangerous!"
"What is Akihiko doing?" Arisa asked.
"He's going to try to distract the creature so that an opening is created for others to strike back!" Felicia exclaimed.
"Hey, you ugly! I am right over here!" Akihiko said.
The plant creature noticed him, giving him all of its attention. Its vines aimed towards him, grabbing him.
"Gaah!" He winced in pain as the creature tightened its grip to the point that blood came out from his mouth. "Gaaaahh!"
"Akihiko!" Haia yelled. "What are you think you're doing?!"
"Giving us a chance!" he answered. "Now, guys!"
"Right!" Eli and Todoroki started their moves immediately. Todoroki used his ice power to freeze part of the creature's body to make it stop moving a little. Then, Eli quickly flew up and then fell due to gravity with his scythe arms ready.
He cut two people tangled in the vines while Todoroki used a bit of his firepower to free more people.
Kirishima landed on his knee. "Alright! I'm free! Thank you, Eli!"
Testsutetsu landed on his knee, too. "Yeah! I was getting tired by these stupid vines!"
Midoriya and Usagi kicked the frozen parts of the vines to free more people.
However, soon the icy part of the creature's body cracked and finally shattered into pieces, releasing itself. The beast roared in retaliation and used its vines to strike at the girls and the children.
"Kyah! It's coming right at us!" One of the children screamed.
"Everyone, stand guard!" Momo yelled as she created a shield.
Felicia already painted some shields for the other girls to use. The vines blocked the vines, but they were firm that they started cracking the shields, allowing them to grow tiny vines to move through the cracks.
"It's coming through the crack!" Arisa startled.
"No, the girls and the kids! Sister Koko!" Usagi cried as she ran to their aide.
However, suddenly, the vines stopped attacking. The girls found it strange but soon found out why.
"Sister Koko?!" Usagi stopped to see Sister Koko standing near the creature. Her hair was out, and it was gripping on the plant creature's vines.
Two orange bangs of her hair were sucking yellow light into her. The plant creature roared in pain as it started getting weaker and weaker. Suddenly the beast used its strength to grab on Sister Koko to stop what she was doing to it.
"Kyah!" She gasped.
"Sister Koko!" Usagi yelled as the plant creature held her and came closer to its mouth.
"No! I won't let you eat her!" Usagi roared as she ran towards it to kick at it.
She kicked the creature on its root so hard that it was enough for it to loosen its grip, releasing Sister Koko, but causing her to fall.
"Sister Koko!" Usagi cried.
However, something moved fast, which confused her.
"Ha, ha, ha!" She turned to the rooftop, where everyone saw who it was.
The kids turned from scared face to excited, overjoyed face with hope returned in their eyes.
"It's fine now. Why? Because I am here!" All Might exclaimed heroically while carrying the unconscious nun in his arms.
"All Might!" Everyone exclaimed. He put down the nun safely.
"I was just coming back home with a special lunch when I heard the commotion," All Might state firmly. "And here I see what appears to be some science experiment went wrong!"
The creature roared at him and used its every ounce of strength to attack All Might.
All Might jumped out of the way. As he was in midair above the creature, he had his fist ready.
"Oh boy! Here he comes!" Kosuke exclaimed.
"This must be it!" Hana jumped in joy.
"It's going to happen!" Annie stated.
"This is it!" Even the shy Shatoko's eyes sparkled as she was excited about knowing too well what would happen next.
Kyota watched as he was speechless.
"California…." All Might, along with the children, said it at the same time. "SMASH!"
The force of his punch slammed the creature to the ground. It was powerful enough to completely stop, destroying the invention that gave birth to it, which also stopped its rapid growth.

Later that day, the school cleaned up the mess. Fortunately, only a few significant property damages, including the big hole in the ceiling, and Principal Nezu announced that the repair would be put in immediately.
Sister Koko was not injured heavily. Thankfully, she woke up soon after the situation was over. The children were glad that their caretaker was safe, but Usagi was the most worried. They shared a long hug after that.
As for Akihiko, he had to stay in the infirmary for a longer recovery, possibly remain there for the night.
"Ha, ha, ha!" All Might laughed as the children played with him.
"You were awesome, All Might! I love your California Smash! That's my favorite attack!" Kosuke said excitedly.
"Me too!" Hana agreed.
"It was exhilarating!" Annie noted.
"I like it. It was, ah, ah, a blast!" Shatoko exclaimed.
"Ha, ha! Thank you, children," All Might said. "I am just glad that all of you are safe and sound. Did you all enjoy your field trip?"
"This is the best field trip in my entire life!" Kosuke declared.
"I agree," Annie nodded.
"Me too!" Hana jumped in joy.
"Me, three," Shatoko said happily.
All Might laughed as the children played with him. Sister Koko, Erasure Head, Speed Girl, Principal Nezu, and some of the 1-A and 1-L, including Usagi, watched them.
"Sister Koko." She turned to Principal Nezu, who was bowing to her. "I apologize for all the chaos you and the children went through today. I've never expected something like to happen."
"I am sorry, too," Speed Girl apologized.
"I want to apologize too, Sister Koko! If I only I was stronger, I… I would've protected you better!" Usagi cried.
"Oh, no, no! Please don't feel that way. It was quite an exciting day. The children enjoyed it so much more than usual," Sister Koko assured the teachers as she smiled. "I am just glad that they are safe, and so is everyone despite some injuries."
"Usagi." Sister Koko held her hand on the rabbit girl's shoulders. "You did protect me. You and your friends stood up to the threat and helped them stop that threat while saving others and protecting everyone else. You did all that, and you think you are not strong? You are strong, dear, and no one, not even me nor God, would say otherwise. I believe that firmly."
Usagi began crying as a tear fell like a waterfall. "Sister Koko!"
They hugged long again as the kind nun comforted her. Her classmates and friends grinned and glad that everything is alright for Usagi and her caretaker, Sister Koko.
After that, the children got on the bus. Before she joined them, Sister Koko turned to Usagi and everyone who came to say goodbye to them.
"Usagi, don't good to others and stay strong," she said.
"Yes, Sister Koko. I will," she said as she wiped her nose and tears.
"And to everyone, please take good care of her. She could be a bit handful, but she is kind," Sister Koko stated.
"We will, Sister Koko," Eli smirked. "And occasionally tease her, too."
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean!" Usagi scowled.
Everyone laughed at that. She joined with the children as the bus driver began the engine.
The bus driver pulled the lever to close the door.
"OK, kids. Next stop, home!" The bus driver, who happened to be Stan Lee, started the engine and turned the wheel. The bus drove away as Usagi and her friends waved goodbye at them.
"Principal Nezu," Aizawa spoke to the principal. "Before the strange, um incident happened today, I talked with Sister Koko and found out more about her."
Principal Nezu grinned. "I see. I had a feeling you would find out eventually."
Speed Girl overheard their conversation and joined in. "Excuse me, but what are you talking about, Mr. Erasure Head?"
"Sister Koko… She was a former villain that I fought and caught a long time ago." The revelation shocked Speed Girl.
"Wait, what?" She gasped in a whispering tone. "Are you serious? That kind, yet gorgeous looking nun was a villain?!"
Aizawa nodded. "It was a long time ago, during my time when was I was a younger Pro Hero, working as a sidekick under a former hero agency I used to work at. Koko Matsunara was a villain who goes by the name 'Vampira.' She was a top wanted criminal during that time, who mainly robbed things and get paid by mobs, and other criminal organizations for her specialty. Her Quirk, Life Sip, allows her to suck the life energy from people and other living creatures by using her hair and by sucking their life energy through her hair; it makes her look young and stay young for a longer time."
"Essentially, making her look eternal, never aging," Principal Nezu added.
"However, one day, she was hurt badly during her heist. The police took the opportunity to finally capture her as I was working with them at the time, but we couldn't find her," Aizawa continued.
"Then, what happened to her?" Speed Girl asked.
"We later found out that she was taken care of by the head nun and her fellow nuns at a church where the heist happened nearby. However, once her recovery was completed, she decided to steal their priceless object, a golden statue of the Virgin Mary. She thought to use their kindness to get away with another robbery, but we managed to stop her in time. I arrested her on the spot. The nuns who helped her and took care of her injury witnessed everything it happened."
Speed Girl listened without saying anything.
"The court punished her for a lot of charges due to the long years she committed crimes. They decided to put her on a life sentence, but an interesting turnabout happened; instead of going to prison, she was instead put in community service as most villains would. She was put under the custody of the church she was about to steal from."
"What?" Speed Girl gasped.
"It was an agreement made between the authority and the head nun of the church. After Koko was put under her care, somehow, she changed into a whole new person. Whether it was because of the head nun's unlimited forgiveness, Koko Matsunara found faith and devoted her life, which made her into who she is today."
"Wow, Mr. Aizawa," Speed Girl impressed. "I've never known you've had that kind of experience and that you knew Sister Koko before we even met her just this morning."
"I realized her at the first get-go, but I didn't say anything because it was a first time seeing her in a while until today, so I didn't know if she remembers me," Aizawa shrugged. "It was over ten years ago, after all."
"Fate is a strange thing," Principal Nezu commented as he nodded.
"I guess so," Speed Girl said.
-My Hero Academia-
At Recovery Girl's office in UA High's main building, a door opened as she and her assistant, Ms. Heal, alerted.
"Hello!" Usagi greeted, along with her classmates Kai, Eli, Felicia, and Kai. "We're here to see if our classmate, Akihiko, is doing OK."
"Oh, um, wait for a second, everyone!" Ms. Heal stepped in. "You see, he is…."
"What's the matter?" Felicia asked. "Is he alright?"
"Yeah? I just want to say thank you to him," Usagi said. "Is it bad to see him now?"
"Well, technically no, but…" Ms. Heal looked hesitant.
Recovery Girl sighed. "If you want to see him, you may, but don't say I warn you. You all may get surprised."
The group of 1-L students looked confused as to what Recovery Girl means that. They shrugged and walked over to Akihiko's infirmary bed, where he rested. Curtains surrounded him.
"Hello, Akihiko. It's me, Usagi, with Arisa, Felicia, Kai, and Eli. We are here to say thank you for…" As she pulled the curtain to see the boy resting in the bed, she gasped.
Her classmates also gasped. They noticed two big round bumps on his chest.
"HOLY CARROT! Akihiko, Akihiko…. Is a girl?!"
Hello, everyone! I am back with another update!
Man, this chapter became longer than expected and it is just a filler chapter! However, this filler chapter is something I really like and enjoyed writing it. The next chapter will come in a week or so.
So what do you think about Sister Koko and the kids from the orhapnage where Usagi was raised?
Until next time, stay safe and as always, go beyond. PLUS ULTRA!
