AN:I took a break from writing this, and straight up forgot about it. Woops?

It was frightfully early in the morning when Scarlet made her way downstairs on the hunt for something to drink, she wasn't picky but Damon's bourbon definitely sounded like a good idea. Fortunately for her Damon was already hosting his own party in the living room so she didn't have to go rummaging for it.

The curtains were drawn leaving the soft glow of the wall lights to illuminate Damon dancing around the room with a giggling Vicky Donnovan. Scarlet couldn't stop the scoff that came from her mouth, drawing Damon's attention.

"Well look who's up bright and early...although you don't look bushy tailed." With the lack of sleep and crippling grief, Scarlet looked a mess for what seemed like the first time in her life. Her hair was scraped up in a messy bun, her eyes looked sunken and had nasty dark circles, and let's not mention the crumpled t-shirt and leggings she wore.

"I wasn't planning on being seen by society today, thought I'd skip a day to mourn the loss of my father. You remember him right? A little shorter than Stefan, but just as nerdy?" Scarlet snarked her way across the room towards the crystal decanters and tumblers, not turning to look at her uncle while she poured herself a double.

"Hmm, sounds vaguely familiar." Damon shooed Vicky off of him sending her drunk tripped out self off to the sofa. "Look, Stefan still has my ring, why don't you and I spend the day getting drunk and playing with little miss tragic over there"

"Well, we could bond over how much we hate Elena" Scarlet pondered out loud as she looked at Vicky lounging over the edge of the sofa with a dopey smile on her face, a cheap bottle of vodka hanging loosely from her fingers.

"See! Doesn't that sound better than moping?" Rolling her eyes Scarlet took a big drink and mulled the offer over internally. It wasn't as if she had any other plans for the day. Or any other friends she could talk to for that matter.

"Fine! But I'm still pissed at you." Scarlet made her way past Damon to sit with Vicky, who just giggled and took another swig.

"Good enough for me" Damon sped over to the stereo and started up a playlist signalling the beginning of their daytime party.

As time passed the three drank, sang, danced, and had to unfortunately listen to Vicky talk about her unfortunate life.

"I'm so over Tyler! So over him, I knew from the beginning that I was only a piece of ass to him, but I thought maybe if he got to know me better that he would see something more!" Vicky was twirling herself around the dining room way too fast for it to be considered dancing.

"But Jeremey on the other hand-" Scarlet zoned the other girl out as she turned to look at Damon who watched Vicky in boredom.

"Does she have an off switch? I mean the first hour or so was fun, but I'm exhausted and borderline drunk now." At this point Vicky was rolling on the floor, still yammering on about her oh so interesting love triangle.

"God I hope so, if I have to hear about Tyler one more time I'm going to kill her." Damon took a swig from the bottle of bourbon in his hand, they'd at some point in the day ditched the crystal tumblers and finished off what was left in the decanter.

"There's literally no-one here who would stop you" Damon just smirked at her and moved away to grab their guests attention.

"Jeremy, huh? Elena's little brother" Damon prompted. Scarlet couldn't help but notice that whenever something related to Elena cropped up Damon held an interest in it. She wasn't sure whether it was to do with his scheme to get even with Stefan or if he was genuinely interested in the girl. She was hoping for the former.

"Yeah-" and then off Vicky went again rambling at 90 miles an hour while Damon strode across the room tugging Scarlet by the hand with him, twirling her as they went.

"Why don't you have a girlfriend you're so hot? And you! You could literally have anyone in our school but you freeze them out like an ice queen. Don't you guys want to be in love?"

"I've been in love; painful, pointless, and overrated" Damon replied as scarlet snatched the bottle out of his hand to take a drink, he let her go to grab a hold of Vicky instead.

"Except when it isn't" Vicky answered back dragging Damon around the table with her boundless energy.

"No more talking, let's dance!"

Scarlet silently amen'd that, turning the music up louder. Her phone buzzed across the sideboard but she pointedly ignored it and decided to join Damon and Vicky in their fun. She surprisingly found the alcohol and erratic dancing help block out her depressing thoughts, perhaps the two were on to something.

They danced throughout the house, slowly migrating from room to room till they found themselves in Stefan's bedroom. Their dancing morphed into a chaotic mess, Damon trashed Stefan's shelves, Vicky jumped on his bed, and Scarlet emptied her uncle Stefan's wardrobe onto the floor.

He'd be having fun cleaning this mess up later.

The energy they'd once had eventually slowed, Scarlet found herself resting on Stefan's bed with her nose in one of his many journal's. This one was current, he talked about meeting Elena for the first time and it was starting to make her queasy.

Looking up from the pages before her she watched as Damon and Vicky slow danced, Vicky was yet again spilling her guts out about her shitty mom and perfect little brother.

Damon looked like he was comforting her, petting her hair and rocking her from side to side and she cried.

"You're so damaged" he held her tenderly, as if he was whispering sweetly to her.

"Yup" Vicky sniffed in return, her nose running from the amount of tears she had shed in the last half an hour. Scarlet wasn't sure what all the fuss was about, but then again she'd never been stuck in the middle of the saddest love triangle Mystic Falls had ever seen.

"You don't have one hint of self esteem" Damon continued to coo into her ear almost lovingly as he rocked her from side to side, his gaze never leaving Scarlet. To her he almost looked sad, but in all honesty she thought he was just bored. Bored of this town, bored of pretending, bored of waiting for Stefan to bring his ring back.

"Not one"

"I think I know what can help you" Damon finally pulled his gaze from Scarlett, taking Vicky's head in his hand he gently caressed her face, making sure he dried her tears.

"What's that?" Vicky asked innocently, Scarlet however had a funny feeling she knew exactly what was coming..

"Death"

With both hands on either side of her head, Damon twisted it to the side. A loud crunch sounded through the room followed by Vicky's body crumbling to the floor.

Scarlet watched on with interest as Damon took a deep breath before he turned to join her on the bed, stepping over Vicky's body as he did so.

"I hope she's not going to be as whiney about her shitty life when she wakes up, it'd be a damn waste" Scarlet didn't feel particularly sad or upset seeing her upperclassman die, perhaps it was because she knew Damon had fed her his blood, if anything she felt a jab of jealousy. Scarlett tried to stamp that feeling out as fast as it came.

"She won't be our problem, Stefan's taking too long in getting my ring back. She at least can serve as a reminder seeing as he's ignoring my calls." Damon answered, gently taking the bourbon bottle from Scarlet's hand. He nudged Scarlet under his arm and hugged her to his side, giving her head a little kiss before taking a swig.

"Let me guess, little Gilbert gets put in danger, ergo Elena is in danger, thus Stefan gives in to your demands?" she mumbled out from Damon's side.

Is it weird to be taking comfort from your fathers killer? She thought to herself, but then quickly remembered she didn't really have anyone else on hand for a hug.

"I knew you'd get it Little Red….now why don't we reignite this party while we wait for teen romance over there to wake up"

Midday was slowly rearing its head and Vicky had yet to come back to life. Scarlet sat at Stefan's desk with her drawing pad, Damon was more than happy to be her real life subject.

It meant things between them were on the right track, and she was close to forgiving him. Or so he thought.

In reality, Scarlet was bored and in need of a distraction. She didn't want to drag Caroline into this mess and well Stefan would be her only other 'friend'. But he was too busy hanging off Elena's every word, and he'd clearly left her alone in a house with Damon knowingly.

The more she thought about it the more annoyed she got.

"Are you almost done?"

"Life models don't talk...besides it's only been thirty minuets!" she answered not even looking up from the pair of eyes she'd intently been working on. Scarlet never seemed to get the eyes right, there was always just something off about them and this time was no different. Sighing she scribbled them out in frustration.

"Have you tried just sitting here looking-" Damon bemoaned playfully, but was interrupted by an audible gasp from behind Scarlet. In a blink of an eye he was standing over Vicky as she groaned out from the floor.

Scarlet turned in her seat to watch Vicky with a morbid curiosity, it wasn't as if she had an opportunity to see some be turned into a vampire every day. She would be lying if she said she hadn't thought about being turned, hell she'd even brought it up to Damon in previous years. He'd never said no...

"Ugh, what happened? We were dancing and then-"

"I killed you," Damon interrupted.

"What?" Vicky asked again in disbelief looking from Damon to Scarlet, silently asking for some kind of help.

"Yup, you're dead, you went out with a resounding crack." Scarlet felt herself grin at the look of complete confusion on Vickies face. Damon watched his niece, noting the pleasure she took in Vicky's misfortune. It would probably concern a better man, but all things considered, he found himself a little proud of her instead.

"I'm dead?" Scarlet rolled her eyes, did she have to spell it out for her? But then if Scarlet really thought about it, it wasn't as if Vicky knew about vampires. Scarlet quietly laughed to herself as she thought about how much of a mess this was really going to be.

"Yeah, now let's not make a big deal out of it. You drank my blood, I killed you and now you have to feed in order to complete the process." Damon explained as he leaned on the desk next to where Scarlet was sitting, he spared a moment to peer at her drawing before looking back at a half naked Vicky as she stumbled about the room looking for her pants.

It wasn't as if she was the only one in a state of undress, Damon had his shirt unbuttoned showing off his bare chest and shoes missing, while Scarlet was in an old pair of gym shorts and silky bralette.

"You're both wasted"

"You don't want to be out there all alone" Vicky ignored him, cautiously stepping over the debris of Stefan's room and tried to make her way out the room. Damon however was in front of her before she even made it to the door. "You're about to get really freaky" to Vicky's credit, she didn't react. Either choking it up to her hangover or she just didn't want to think outside the box.

"Ok, I had a really good time but I really just want to go home" she made it sound like they'd spent the night having a big rager. Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll. Well in a sense they had, just without the first part.

"You're going to start craving blood, and until you get it you're going to feel out of it. You're going to have to be very careful" Damon was sounding like a concerned third party, but everything he said went over her head, dismissed as crazy.

"Come on! Move" Vicky pushed Damon in a laughable attempt at getting him to move. Grinning he stepped to the side letting her stumble past him

"Look at you Vic! You're already starting to fall apart" Scarlet called out from her seat, the girl really did look a mess.

"And I'm going home now!" Vicky called out not looking back as she reached the door.

"Ok! Fine, I'm just warning you."

"Actually, you know what? You should go. In fact if I were you I'd stop by your boyfriend Jeremy's house." Vicky paused to listen, but shook her head and carried on her merry way with nothing more than a 'whatever' over her shoulder.

"Say hello to Elena for me, Oh! And if you see Stefan, tell him to call me" Damon called after her as she disappeared from view.

"You think she'll complete the transition?" Scarlet asked as she stared at the now empty doorway in contemplation. She wondered if Vicky would just randomly attack someone on her way, or if she'd miraculously hold off. Was the thirst for blood strong at first or did it build? She hoped to find out one day.

"Pft, the girl is an addict. She couldn't say no if she tried."
