Chapter 22
Tough Decision
"Nani?! J-HOL?!" Honzo exclaimed as all the teachers were shocked, too. "Do they have any clue of what our school is going through now?!"
Honzo's body started secreting lava as a drop of the lava from his cheek fell to the ground and melted through the floor.
"Sit back down, Honzo!" Eraser Head got up as his hair stood up, and his eyes glowed in red.
Eraser Head's Quirk temporarily erased Honzo's Quirk, stopping his body to secrete more lava. He sat back down as Eraser Head blinked his eyes and sat back down.
"Principal Nezu, with all due respect, just exactly why are you telling us this now?" Aizawa asked. "I would care less, but after what we've been going through for the past three months, I don't think this is a good time."
Principal Nezu looked at each of the members, showing their concern through their expression at him.
"Yes, I apologize that I cannot let you know as soon as possible. I was notified by invitation from last night's phone call," Principal Nezu revealed.
- Flashback –
Principal Nezu was walking on some paperwork one night ago, and he almost finished for the day. It was pretty late as the clock showed it was past 9 pm.
"And that! Today's paperwork is done. With that, the preparation for the training camp completed," he said, checking the time and noticing how late it became. "Well, it's time to go home!"
As he was about to get off his chair, his desk phone started ringing.
"A phone call? At this late hour?" He picked up the call. "Hello?"
"Good evening, Principal Nezu. This is Yamamoto from the Japan Embassy in Athens," said the man at the other end.
"Oh, Yamamoto-kun! It's been a long time, and this is a surprise! How are you doing?" Principal Nezu said happily.
"Yes, sir. It's been quite a long time, and I apologize for calling you this late in the evening. Well, it is an evening there in Musutafu. It is like an afternoon here," Yamamoto said, chuckling.
"No, no, it is just fine. I just finished some paperwork and ready to go home, but I have some time. I'm happy to hear your voice," Principal Nezu said.
"Thank you, Principal Nezu," Yamamoto thanked. "You see, the reason for the call, as you may guess, that the J-HOL committee has decided to ask the country to invite their most prestigious high school to participate in the J-HOL Games."
"I see," Principal Nezu said in a much lax yet serious tone.
"They spoke with us, and we already let the home government know about it. They asked us to call UA directly, and that is why I am calling now to speak with you," Yamamoto said. "I'm… aware of the situation going on over there. I read the news on the web about what happened at USJ."
"Thank you for thinking of us, Yamamoto-kun," Principal Nezu said kindly. "I understand what you mean. I will discuss it with the faculty first. Could you be able to wait for our final decision for a day or two?"
"Yes, of course!" He responded. "Please take your time. The deadline to decide is by the end of this week. I will look forward to hearing your decision and thank you for the conversation."
"No problem, Yamamoto-kun, and thank you, too," Principal Nezu said.
- Flashback Ends –
"And that's happened," Principal Nezu said briefly.
"Hmm, so that Yamamoto was the one who made the call," Aizawa said. "It sounds like he has a lot of work for him."
"Yes, indeed," Principal Nezu nodded. "I was happy to hear his voice. It has been two years now, and it seems like that time has come. However, this is a dire time for us, so I know that some of you have a different opinion as I already know what you are all thinking."
The words hit over each of the teachers' hearts. They couldn't admit it now, but with everything that the school was going through with the League of Villains and this announcement, they felt different about if they should or should not have the school participate in the J-HOL Games this time. It was a tradition for UA High School to participate and play in the J-HOL Games as a representative for Japan.
"If anyone has something to say or let out your thought, you may do so now," Principal Nezu said, relaxing the tense atmosphere in the room.
"With all due respect, Principal Nezu," Honzo said first. "I think we, UA High, should not participate in the J-HOL Games this time. We have too many things to worry about. Ever since the villains appeared and attacked USJ…."
Honzo glanced at All Might, which he noticed and felt uneasy when he did. "We should put the safety of our students as a top priority! Allowing them to go to some countries may put them at risk."
"I agree, too," Snipe admitted. "The safety of our students is important. The villains' attack on USJ was unexpected, and just recently, the ringleader of the League of Villains, Tomura Shigaraki, has coincidentally encountered one of the students from Class 1-A, which the whole class and Class 1-L victimized in the USJ attack."
"Not to mention that two villains have just escaped out of Tartarus. It is not 100% proven, but it is most likely due to the League of Villains who did it," Ectoplasm noted. "Who knows what they are plotting next?"
"I totally agree with the three," Present Mic spoke up. "USJ Attack, Shigaraki's encounter, and the two loose villains, we can't just dilly-dally at some fancy games in some countries. We should stay here as this is the safest place, anyway."
"While I understand all of your points," Midnight spoke up as everyone looked at her. "I don't think it is fair for us, the adults, to decide whether our students should or should not go to J-HOL Games. I understand about the safety, but we should also consider the students' feelings and the public's feelings. UA High has traditionally been the representative school for Japan for many years now. For us to decide not to go because of some loose villains, wouldn't that undermine us?"
"That is a good point," Thirteen said. "I understand what Present Mic, Snipe, Ectoplasm, and Honzo are coming from, but we should be thinking of the big picture."
"I am on with Thirteen and Midnight," Cementoss said.
"Are you three crazies?!" Honzo shouted. "Who cares if it is tradition or what!"
"Calm down, Honzo!" Eraser Head said strictly. "Don't make me use my Quirk again."
The other teachers and faculty members who haven't said the word looked concerning. They were Vlad King, Power Loader, Hound Dog, Recovery Girl, and Miss Heal. Lunch Rush wasn't at present since he only served for the school's cafeteria and was not technically needed for this kind of meeting since he only works part-time, which is for the only lunchtime.
"What do you think, All Might and Speed Girl?" Principal Nezu asked, mentioning the two.
All Might and Speed Girl thought to themselves before they said anything.
"Well," Speed Girl spoke up. "I think we should go to J-HOL Games."
Her words surprised the teachers on the opposition side.
"I know that it sounds crazy, but if we do go to J-HOL Games, then we can show the public that we at UA High are brave and strong. I know that the escaped villains are only known to us and the police, but everybody still remembers the USJ Incident, the Hero Killer's case in Hosu, and the stuff in Kyoto, which involved one of my students. I see comments and words on the Internet every day if you haven't been checking them lately. There are so many concerning comments about the school's safety, and some think we are weak and incompetent. Suppose we will raise our students to be the next generation of heroes, better than our generation. In that case, I think entering the J-HOL Games is a major, if not one of the major steps for their growth and also a commitment to show that we are strong and not incompetent!"
Speed Girl's speech cringed into everyone's hearts.
"Young Speed Girl is right," All Might said as he turned into his muscular form. "I think it is important to have a good public image, but most importantly, we also have to think about our students. How do we teach and raise our students, our children, to face the new evil and challenge in the world? That I solemnly believe!"
"Mr. All Might," Speed Girl grinned as her eyes turned a bit watery.
Principal Nezu nodded. "Very well. Now that everyone has said their voices, there is the only way to decide this. Ta-Dah!"
Principal Nezu took out a box with a hole on the top. "A voting box! We will decide this via a vote. Just write either Yes for approval of joining the J-HOL Games or No for against of joining the event."
After five minutes, every one put in their votes, and Principal Nezu counted the numbers.
"With everyone voted, the result is…. nine votes for yes and seven votes for no," Principal Nezu announced. "Therefore, we are approving that UA High will join the J-HOL Games this time."
Some of the teachers looked pleased, but others didn't look too approving. Honzo gritted his teeth. All Might noticed his expression and couldn't help but felt terrible. He understood that Honzo was probably the one who cared the most for the students, and his presence of being a teacher at UA caused more troubles than help he hates to admit, but cannot deny it.
"Now then. We will need to discuss who would be on the team," Principal Nezu said, then looked at Aizawa, Vlad King, and Speed Girl. "Eraser Head, Vlad King, Speed Girl, you three will need to gather the students tomorrow in one of our auditoriums. Due to the vote, it also means that we will have to postpone the summer training camp."
"Right," Aizawa nodded.
"We will get that working," Vlad King said. "Though, all of them, if not most of them, will be disappointed. If some of them will go to J-HOL, it means that the others have to stay and do something else until this whole thing is over."
Speed Girl laughed a bit nervously. "Um, yeah, that's true, but I think this is a wonderful opportunity for them. J-HOL only happens every two years."
"Principal Nezu," Aizawa said. "Since you called our names, as we are the first-year homeroom teachers, is that means that you want some of our students to participate in the J-HOL?"
"Well, that leads me to another thing. You see…"
- My Hero Academia –
Another day at UA High began for the students alike. A few days ago, there was a closing ceremony for the closing of the first semester. At this time, students were planning for their long summer vacation. The students in the Department of Heroes were planning to go to the summer training camp instead. However, today was something different. All the students from Class 1-A, 1-B, and 1-L gathered at the auditorium.
It was a big surprise when the announcement system announced all of them to report to the auditorium hall. The same auditorium had the closing ceremony for the first semester and the entrance exam orientation.
"Holy Carrot! Looking at everyone here, I notice that there are many students in the Heroes Department," Usagi commented.
"Tell me about it," Miru noted.
"There are 54 students in total," Makoto pointed out.
"That's a lot of hero class students!" Usagi commented shockingly.
"Hey, what do you think we are all here for, anyway?" Eli asked.
"Who knows," Kai said. "It is strange only to call everyone from the hero courses."
"Maybe, it has something to do with the training camp?" Tatsumi questioned.
"Ha, ha, ha!" They heard a laugh not too far away. From the other side, they saw Neita Monoma from Class 1-B.
"If anything, it is probably that some of you all won't be going to the training camp," Monoma proclaimed.
"Holy Carrot?! What?! Is that true?" Usagi gasped.
"That isn't true, Usagi-san!" Iida shouted as he was overhearing the conversation. "I think there's a more reasonable explanation for why they announced us to be here! Monoma-san, you don't have any proof that they would do that!"
Monoma looked disapproved but kept his composure. "I wouldn't be sure. You don't have proof to prove that I am wrong, right?"
"That is true…." Iida looked conflicted.
"Monoma, stop making things up and scaring others from the other classes," Kendo scolded.
"But, like what Eli said, I wonder why we are called to be here, too," Kirishima said.
"I know, right?" Kaminari noted.
"Let's hope it isn't something serious," Asui thought aloud.
"Hmph! Whatever it is, let's just make it short," Bakugo grumbled.
"What do you think, Deku-kun?" Ochaco said, looking a bit worried.
"Well, I am not quite sure, but I am pretty sure we'll be fine," Midoriya assured, which made Ochaco assured and felt better.
"The fear of the unknown," Ai said seriously. "It plagues our minds."
Izuku and Ochaco heard what Ai said as they felt shivered since he was behind them.
"Aku-kun, you sure like to say, um, thoughtful things," Ochaco commented, shaking in fear.
"I do wonder why we are all here, though," Arisa said.
"Indeed, I am curious too, Arisa," Felicia admitted.
Just then, the door opened. Three people came inside. Their respective homeroom teachers were Aizawa, aka Eraser Head for Class 1-A, Vlad King from Class 1-B, and Haruko Uno, aka Speed Girl of Class 1-L.
"Good morning, you lots," Aizawa greeted as everyone listened silently. "Sorry to make you all come here this morning out of sudden, but we have something important to announce."
Everybody eyed the teachers. Some gulped, and others looked a bit nervous.
"We are postponing the summer training camp," Aizawa said.
There was like three or four seconds of silence until a stampede of gasp and booing echoed the auditorium.
"EEEEEEHHHHH!" They all said.
"HOLY CARROT!" Usagi exclaimed. "Why?!"
"Aizawa-sensai, what is the reason for the postponement of the training camp?" Iida questioned aloud as he waved his arm like a robot.
"Yeah, Teach Eraser Head! What's the big deal?!" Eli complained.
"Be quiet!" Eraser Head used his Quirk to stop and intimidate everyone. They all became silent in an instant.
"Sorry for making this announcement and surprising you guys," Speed Girl stated. "There is a reason for it, though."
"For you see," Vlad King spoke up as he stepped forward. "We were invited to a special event."
'Invited?' Kai thought as everyone else had the same thought, too.
"That's right!" Something moved around inside Aizawa's binding cloth until a certain furry being popped out from it.
"Principal Nezu?!" The students gasped.
"Am I a bear? Am I a dog? Well, the answer to that is I am your principal!" Principal Nezu chirped. "Anyway, we are invited to the biggest, if not one of the biggest events that happen only every few years. The International J-HOL Committee invites the hero classes of UA High to join the J-HOL Games this year!"
Another silence of three to four seconds occurred until they all gasped.
"NANI?!" They all gasped with a serious, shocked facial expression.
Junko's snot bubble popped for a second, but it formed again as she continued to sleep peacefully.
"Holy Carrot!" Usagi gasped aloud. "That's a shocker, but… what is a J-HOL?"
Monoma laughed aloud. "Ha, ha, ha! You are in the hero class, and you don't know what J-HOL is? That's pathetic!"
"Hey!" Usagi accused.
"Monoma, don't tease other students!" Vlad King glared at the boy menacingly as the said student felt the aura.
"Yes, sir…" Monoma complied as he silenced himself.
"Well, for the sake of anyone here who doesn't know, why not ask someone to explain it?" Speed Girl said happily. "And I pick…. You!"
She pointed at Momo Yaoyorozu. "Me, maim?"
"Yup, that's right. Please explain to everyone what J-HOL means," Speed Girl said with a smile.
"Um, sure, Miss Speed Girl," Momo said and got up. "J-HOL stands for Junior Hero Olympic League. It is a bi-annual event where the best schools from countries worldwide compete in a series of games. It is similar to the real main Olympics Games."
"That's right!" Speed Girl cheered, giving her a thumb-up. "You get a gold star!"
Momo looked surprised as she sweated. "Oh! Um, thank you?"
The members of Class 1-L sweat-dropped and felt embarrassed. Kai felt the most ashamed, though.
'Damn it, sis! Now you are treating the other students like me. This is not a kindergarten!' Kai thought.
"As Yaoyorozu said, the J-HOL is a bi-annual event. This event is famous and popular. Think of it as the UA Sports Festival on an international level," Aizawa said.
Class 1-A thought nervously.
'That's a huge deal!' They thought.
"The committee behind the event, J-HOL Committee, has invited UA High to represent Japan for the next, upcoming event. We called you all so that we can announce the names for the team," Aizawa explained.
"In other words, we will announce the members who will be in Team Japan!" Vlad King exclaimed.
'Team Japan?!' All the members thought.
"First, I will call out the name from my class," Aizawa said. "From my class, they are…."
Class 1-A listened anxiously. "First up is Katsuki Bakugo."
"Kacchan?!" Izuku gasped as everyone eyed Bakugo.
Bakugo's eyes widened, then smiled wildly, revealing his persona.
"Oh, yeah," he said delightfully.
"Next is Izuku Midoriya," Aizawa announced.
"Me?!" Izuku gasped.
"Sweet, Deku," Ochaco cheered.
"Deku?! What the hell?! Why are you have to be in it with me?!" Bakugo roared.
"Be quiet up there!" Aizawa stopped him, causing the boys to calm down.
"Then, Uraraka Ochaco and finally Shoto Todoroki," Aizawa finished.
"Ochaco-chan and Todoroki-kun, too?" Asui thought aloud.
"I am in, too?" Ochaco looked confused while Todoroki didn't say anything.
"Next is my class!" Speed Girl jumped in, looking excitedly. "From my class, the names are Yuki Drago…."
Yuki Drago opened his eyes as he had them closed since the beginning.
"Ellix Francisco Barbaros." Eli responded with a smile and fist-pump.
"Woohoo!" He cheered.
"Sakura Tsubomi."
"Holy Carrot?! I am in the team, too?" She gasped.
"And finally, Kai Uno!" Kai's eyes widened when he heard his name. Then again, he had a feeling his name would be called.
"Oh, sorry! I almost forgot. Junko Neru is also in the team," Speed Girl remembered.
"Say what?!" Class 1-L gasped.
Class 1-A and 1-B looked surprised as everyone looked at Junko, who was sleeping with her head up over the hair.
"Zzzz," she slept peacefully.
"The names that were called out now will be the part of the main team," Principal Nezu stated. "However, the main team cannot exist without the Support Team!"
"Support Team?" Miru repeated.
"For each country's team, it must split into the main team, with main players for most if not all games in the event and the support team, whose role is to support the main team, assist their needs, and also replace any of the main players, if necessary," Speed Girl explained.
"The support team members, the second half of Team Japan, are the following," Vlad King said as he began telling the names. "Momo Yaoyorozu, Ejiro Kirishima, Tsuyu Asui, Tenya, Iida, Arisa Kawasaki, Felica Marvell, Minoru Mineta, Kaminari Denki, Kyoka Jiro, Neito Monoma, and Kendo Itsuka!"
The called-out students were surprised, and some looked proud to be on the team. Monoma smiled to himself while Kendo looked a bit surprised but couldn't help to grin.
"Excuse me!" Iida raised his hand. "First off, I apologize for my last outburst. Secondly, I am honored to be part of the support staff, but may I ask the reason why we, at UA High, are chosen to represent our fair and great country, Japan?"
Principal Nezu nodded. "Well, that leads me to what I explained to your teachers yesterday. A certain someone can answer your question. Please look at this video message."
The light dimmed as the wall behind the teachers opened, revealing a giant monitor. Once the wall was completed opened up, the monitor turned on as the title, "J-HOL," appeared.
"Hello, first-year students of UA High School," said the man who had appeared.
The man was middle-aged with straight blond hair with a bang that went downward smoothly behind his head. His skin was pale, and he had blue eyes. He wore a standard business suit with a necktie with blue and white stripes. The most exciting feature was the two horns on the side of his head.
"My name is Gregory Giorno Deer, and I am the President of the International J-HOL Committee or simply, J-HOL Committee. I am humbled to say this in person, but I would like to invite you all to the bi-annual J-HOL Games in my home country. I understand that your school is going through a difficult time due to the recent incidents that have transpired there, but I believe that you will take our consideration into thought and that you all will come out stronger than before. Our founder created the J-HOL not to show off the uniqueness of youth's Quirks, but in this time and age, we are here to show that we are brave, strong, and committing to protect our communities and never let evil win over us. Thank you for hearing my message, and I hope to see you all in Athens, Greece!"
The video message ended. "And there you have it," Principal Nezu said. "The J-HOL Games will be held this summer in Athens, the capital city of Greece, the original homeland of the original Olympics!"
The students looked excited.
"Due to this is the reason why we are postponing the summer training camp. You will be under a strict training schedule for all of you in the team for the next two weeks. For the rest of you, while the training camp is postponed, don't slack off for it," Aizawa stated.
"And that's pretty much all we have to say. Congratulations to you all who became part of Team Japan, but remember this. While some of you turned rivals in the sports festival, this isn't like the sports festival. You are all going to work as a team to represent Japan, so we picked you as we thought you are all the best of the best," Speed Girl explained.
"So remember to be on your best behavior towards each other," Vlad King said, though his words felt more targeted on Neito.
"That goes the same to you lot," Aizawa said to his students, specifically more to Bakugo.
Bakugo noticed as he looked the other away, growling.
"That is all for now. You are all dismissed," Principal Nezu announced as he and the teachers left the auditorium hall.
"Holy Carrot! We are Team Japan now!" Usagi hopped in excitement.
"Heck yeah! We are Team Japan!" Eli cheered.
"This is so sudden. I feel a bit excited," Arisa said.
"Blimey, I sure am!" Felicia exclaimed. "I did know that there will be J-HOL Games this year, but I've never thought to be in one. I wonder…"
On Class 1-B's side, the students who weren't called surrounded Monoma and Kendo.
"Congratulations, you two. I thought you would be called out, to be honest with you, Kendo," a girl with dark-green hair said. This girl's name was Setsuna Tokage.
"Man, I am so jealous of you two, but I pray for your victory and do well for the rest of us, Class B!" Tetsutestu exclaimed.
"Why, of course, Tetsutestu," Monoma said, padding on his classmate's shoulder. "I will fight for our behalf."
"Very, very good! I hope you do well," Pony supported.
"Thank you, Pony, Setsuna, and everyone," Kendo said, smiling. "We will do our best, and Monoma, you better behave yourself. We will be working with members from Class 1-A and 1-L."
"Tch, of course," Monoma said hesitantly, then glanced at the other classes with disgust and sly smirk.
"This is awesome!" Kirishima proclaimed with a fist bump. "We will do great at this J-HOL Games!"
"Are you deaf or something?" Kirishima looked up at Bakugo as he walked down the stairs. "You are part of the support team. I will come out on top and beat all our opponents! Rest assured that you all will remember that!"
"Oh! You are already hot-blooded, huh, Bakugo?" Kirishima asked proudly.
"You are damn right I am," Bakugo replied.
"This is exciting, Deku-kun! And I am also kind of nervous now that I think about it," Ochaco said.
"I understand how you feel, but what's even better is that I can get to see what kind of Quirk users we will meet from other countries' schools!" Deku exclaimed. "I can't wait to see and meet them!"
Tsuyu looked at Midoriya as she put on her finger near her cheek. "Midoriya-chan, you are showing your fanboy persona."
"Everyone is getting so excited," Arisa said. "What do you think of all this, Kai?"
"Well, I admit that it is quite a big deal. It's like our sports festival, but much bigger," Kai commented. "But, maybe bigger is an understatement at this point. We are facing against the world."
"We must work harder than ever before. We need to compete at the same level as the other teams, which we have no clue about any of them," Yuki Drago spoke up as he joined the conversation with the group and everyone looked at him.
Yuki looked at Felicia and Arisa specifically. "You two." He caught their attention. "You are both from other countries. I expect that the USA and England, or the United Kingdom, will be at the event, too. If I remember correctly, Team USA is at the number 1 position for the most wins in the record."
That surprised some of the UA students.
"Really? Team USA is at number 1 spot?" Kaminari surprised.
"I guess that makes since. They are big country, and love to win," Jiro commented. "Well, at least that is how I see them as."
"Team USA, huh?" Bakugo said as he eyed Yuki and then Arisa, "Is that true, you dragon bastard? Are they the strongest ones?"
Arisa looked a bit intimidated when Bakugo looked at her with his scary face.
"Well, um, yeah! I know that my school, LA Ultra High, had participated in the past events before, from what I heard. Maybe they will join in this one, too, most likely!" she explained hesitantly.
"I believe that my school, London Academy, will most likely participate in the games, representing the United Kingdom. We have a history with J-HOL Games, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they are chosen to represent my home country again," Felicia stated.
'If my theory is right, most likely my friends will join, too. Maybe him as well…' Felicia thought.
"Well, whoever or whatever the countries are, they will all die!" Bakugo proclaimed.
"Di-Die?" Arisa asked, looking very nervous.
"Don't mind him, Arisa," Ashido said. "He always says that."
"Yeah, no sweat. Bakugo is just serious and manly about competition, that's all," Kirishima assured. "He won't hurt anyone, well, not too severely, that is."
"Well, at least I am part of the support side," Kaminari said.
"Kaminari, I can't wait for this game!" Mineta said as he whispered something in his friend's ear. "If we are lucky, we will most likely see some cute foreign girls."
"Oh! You got a good point there, dude!" Kaminari and Mineta started drooling as their face blushed and smiled widely.
Suddenly, their ears were plugged by Jiro's earphone jacks, causing them to be attacked by her sound.
"You two better behave yourself," Jiro scolded. "I don't want us or possibly, the entire Japan to be embarrassed if you do something stupid."
"I am sure we will be just fine," Momo stated. "I have visited Athens before, twice in fact, and it is a wonderful place."
"Woah! Just as expected from a rich girl," Hagakure commented.
"Man, I wish we can go, too!" Ashido complained.
"Don't worry! I will take many selfie pictures and share them on social media," Usagi declared.
Ashido felt better hearing that. "Thank you, Usagi," she thanked.
"I wish you all a good luck," Makoto said.
"We'll cheer for you all from here," Miru stated.
"Everyone let's do our best! We are representing our great and fair country! We may be from different classes, but we must stand as united!"
"Stand as united? Hmph! We don't need to be like that!" Katsuki argued as he walked away.
"Bakugo, where are you going?" Iida asked. "You can't just leave in the middle of my speech! That's just being rude!"
"Listen here, Four-Eyes and all of you!" Bakugo pointed at them. "We may be part of a team, but I will be the one who will defeat all the foreigners in the games! Got it?"
Everyone looked at Bakugo as he walked away, causing all the other students to step back so he could walkthrough.
"Kacchan," Izuku sighed, then grinned a little. "He must be really pumped for this."
"I was just giving some inspirational team talk…." Iida said, disappointed.
"Iida-kun, don't worry. We all get it," Ochaco said, padding on his back for being supportive.
"Well, one thing for sure is that we are now Team Japan. So, let's do our best and show what we are made of!" Eli exclaimed.
Everyone, minus Monoma joined with Eli as they cheered.
"Goooo, Team Japan!" They raised their hands together in unison.
"Though, Mr. Aizawa said that we would be training for this. I wonder how they will train us?" Usagi asked aloud.
"That is true," Momo said. "Like the Olympics, we will have to probably train in all kinds of exercise for different sports games, high diving, running, and others."
"Holy Carrot. That sounds like a lot of work," Usagi moaned.
"Don't worry. I am sure you and everyone in the main will do well," Kendo said supportively.
"Thank you, Kendo. Oh! Let's take a selfie together!" Usagi declared.
"Um, sure," Kendo said as she joined in.
After the teachers announced the postponement of the summer training camp and the declaration of the J-HOL Games, Principal Nezu called the committee that our school would join and represent Japan. Due to the news, the government publicly announced on that same day that UA High has declared to represent Japan for the event. The news spread far and wide all over the country and the rest of the world.
Somewhere in Athens, Greece, a group of young people were training in the gym. Some were using the weight lift, and others were wrestling each other. Some of them were also using the treadmill.
"Everyone, stop what you are doing and gather around!" They all turned to the voice of a young man.
The young man stood around 6 feet tall. He had short, spiky dark red hair with three blue eyes: two normal eyes and one big round eye on the center of the forehead. He had a physical-fit body.
Everyone gathered around the man. "Mr. Avino, everyone is gathered."
"Thank you, Ivan. I will take it from here," said another man.
This man was taller and more muscular. He only wore a part of dark brown pants with chains attached around near the waistline. His bare chest was exposed and covered with orange furs, and his head was the head of a lion with a dark-colored mane for the hair.
"Everyone, listen up! I heard the news that Japan has decided what school will be in the upcoming J-HOL Games. It will be, just as we expected, UA High School, but unlike the last time, the team will be consisting of first-year only."
The news shocked most of them, causing most of them to smile and laugh, thinking that it will be easy to win them already. Ivan disagreed with the group, while another student, a female with long, snowy white hair, glanced at her eyes.
"Settle down now. While some of you may think this is a joke and it will be easy to beat the team because the first-year don't have experience, don't underestimate Team Japan just by their age or experience. According to the media, Team Japan's members are the students involved in some past incidents involving villains, such as the infamous Hero Killer Stain's incident."
This announcement shocked the ones who thought it would be an easy win. Ivan smirked while the female student looked indifferent.
In China, the teachers at some schools were having a meeting.
"According to the Republic's Department of Education, Japan had picked UA High School to represent them. The school will use a team of first-year students; some of them were involved in the villains' attack and the Hero Killer incident," said one teacher.
"My, my, that sounds quite interesting," another teacher commented. "Then, we must prepare our students and choose the best of the best for the team."
"Indeed," a third teacher nodded, who had a long beard that went down to his knee.
In Russia….
"No matter who these first-year students in Team Japan are, we, Team Russia, will be victorious! For our Mother Russia!" Russian man exclaimed as the students trained in the snow.
"For Mother Russia!" They yelled.
In Los Angeles, USA, two certain people read the news on one of their smartphones together.
"It looks like UA High is going to be Team Japan for J-HOL," said a girl.
"That means Arisa is coming, right?" An older-looking boy asked.
"Most likely. We can call her later to check," said the girl.
Elsewhere in London, England…
"Blimey! So Japan has finally declared. UA High will be Team Japan," said a young girl.
"This sounds terrific! It means that Felica will be in the team, most likely!" A boy exclaimed, who was sitting next to the girl.
"Perhaps, William," said the girl. "We can call her to confirm this."
"Or we can just text, Cordellia," William suggested. "That way is faster."
"That's a better idea," Cordellia agreed.
Finally, somewhere in Italy, a group of shadowy figures gathered in an office space room. They had the blind closed the windows, and the lights from outside barely passed through the slit between the blinds.
"It seems that Japan has chosen UA High to be their team," said one figure in the shadows.
"They are going to be a tough team to deal with," another figure pointed out as he was smoking a cigar. "According to the agent's source, the students they picked for the team were the ones who were attacked by the League of Villains, for the sole purpose of killing All Might, but they failed in the end."
"I find them to be pathetic. If the League of Villains hired one of our assassins, they would have a much higher successful chance," another figure ridiculed the league. Despite the shadow, this figure had a feminine body. "Then again, it is All Might, after all."
"Forget about All Might for now," said the man, who was sitting behind a large desk. This man was sitting on a rotating chair. This mysterious man was their boss.
They all looked at their boss.
"First thing first is we will use our agents, who will be going to the J-HOL for our home country's team. Then, everything is set. We have all the intel we need for every team and their members, including Team Japan. They will not stand a chance against our home's team."
"Now go and do your job," the boss ordered. "You all know what to do."
- My Hero Academia –
UA High has entered the summer vacation period. At this time, the school would be closed. However, there was only a particular group of students who came today. Today marks the first day of the training for the J-HOL Games in Athens, Greece.
All the members were outside in the field, just outside the school's main building. Everyone was in their UA gym uniform. Some looked fine, but other students looked tired, like Usagi, Mineta, Kaminari, Arisa, and Ochaco. Aizawa and Speed Girl were at present with them.
"Good morning, all of you," Aizawa greeted with his usual lazy eyes.
"Good morning, everyone!" Speed Girl thundered, sounding chirper than Eraser Head.
"Good morning," everyone responded.
"We called you all this early in the morning to begin the training for the J-HOL Games. The event is composed of series of sports. You all will be training hard physically and improving your stamina, strength, speed, and willpower," Aizawa explained strictly.
"Which is why we hired your senior to help you all in training!" Speed Girl announced as she turned to the seniors.
Four seniors walked up and appeared in front of the team. Some of them looked a bit surprised because they have never met them, but some of them knew who they were, especially Kai.
"Good morning, everyone! My name is Lola Yamada, Class 3-A's rep," Lola introduced as she wore a sweatshirt that says UA, short skirts, a cap, and sunglasses, which made her look like a coach.
"Yo, what's up, everyone. The name's Chojiro Hakate, from Class 3-A as well. Nice to meet ya," Chojiro greeted with a wink. He wore a white opened-buttoned long-sleeve shirt with a black T-shirt underneath it and black pants.
"Grr," Leo greeted shortly. He wore the third-year gym uniform, like them.
"This is Leo, who is also our classmate. He talks quite a lot, but you will soon understand what he says," Lola stated.
'Is he talkative?' Most of the students looked doubtful about it.
"And this… guy here is Fernando Feroz from Class 3-B," Lola introduced the young man to everyone.
Kai remembered this person well. He was the one who framed him and caused a scandal of him breaking up with Lola and making the whole school think he was her boyfriend.
Fernando gritted his teeth, looking like he didn't want to be here.
"We, the third-year UA, will help you guys to train for the J-HOL as we did when we were first-year and participated in the event!" Lola announced.
And so, our two-week training or I liked to call it, two-week of hell, began.
- Ending: Datte Attashi No Hero –
Two stage lights turned on at the red curtain, opening it up to reveal a huge island. Somewhere on the island, Kai, dressed in medieval fantasy clothes, set out on his journey as his sister waved goodbye at him.
On his travel, he encountered Usagi, who looked like a nun mage with her two rabbit ears sticking out, Eli who was a bug humanoid warrior, Felica as elf mage, and Arisa as merchant. As they traveled together, they met up with Yuki Drago, who was fighting another dragon bigger than him, but easily overpowered it and defeated it in the process. The group looked shock to see the defeated beast, but they were interrupted when an army of monsters and giant demon figure appeared before them.
They noticed members of Class 1-A were fighting in the middle of the battle against the demon's army, so they jumped in and joined the action to help. Soon after, rest of the Class 1-L members in a fantasy clothes appeared and assisted others.
As they fought hard and some looked tired and injured, Kai, along with Yuki Drago, Midoriya, and Bakugo stood strong against the demon king.
Midoriya charged all of his energy into his sword, causing it glow in yellow energy and silhouette of All Might appeared behind him, made up of the same energy. It followed Midoriya's movement as he slashed his sword at the demon king.
