Akuma Sannin
Annnnd I'm back! Hey y'all just wanted to give you all the new and improved pairings for the story, I know I said I'd have it at the very bottom of the last chapter but I honestly just forgot to put it in…...my bad. Anyways, certain things are going to be picking up speed from this point on, and that's got me really excited so enjoy! ALSO, I'm sorry for the wait on this chapter as well, the month of February was not kind to me or my wife in the least. For starters she caught the Kung Flu(covid 19) and was out of commission for like 2.5 weeks, which meant I was as well since I got it from her about a day or three after she was confirmed to have it. And then on top of that we had that huge winter storm that froze most of Texas, that REALLY screwed a lot of stuff up for me even further for another 2 weeks. As for one the day the storm hit was actually the day that I was originally supposed to move from my old apartment to my new one, I wound up on a first name basis with the moving company's dispatcher with how many times we had to reschedule the moving day. And even then it took about a week for us to even truly settle in. And to top it all off I discovered on the morning that I was finally able to move, that some asshole had stolen the brake lights off of my F150 Raptor!….needless to say that day did not start on a good note. Thankfully at this point and time I'm now down to my final 7 classes for my Bachelor's, and then I graduate.

It had been several days since they had first arrived at the castle, after dealing with its previous occupants it had merely been a matter of making a few dozen Shadow Clones to clean the place of all the blood. And then came the interesting part, performing the Cup de Grace on their target, Kakuzu wasn't kidding when he told them that the victim would scream very loudly. But damn did Oda SCREAM….. It honestly hurt Naruto's and Kurama's ears from how loud the man had screamed, as Naruto forced countless threads from his Jiongu into the man's chest. The loudest screams were near the end when the threads encircled his heart and lightly pierced it. The trick apparently was to then draw all of the chakra that was still spread out through Oda's body, and gather it into his heart before ripping it out. The end result was a bloody, pulsing, mass of black threads. The entire thing was almost surreal as Naruto had done this once before in order to obtain another heart as practice, Kakuzu had insisted on using live criminals like the ones they hunted whenever all three of them would travel together.
But this time it was different as Naruto was doing this for the sole reason of saving another life, and since he had only his experience with saving Hinata to fall back on, Naruto had been admittedly a little nervous. Taking the new Jiongu Heart over to Yota whom a Shadow Clone had retrieved from the castle's makeshift prison, he placed the mass on the young boy's chest. What he and Kurama had done differently however was something that had been a bit of an experiment on their part, and they would still have to wait till much later to confirm if their efforts had truly been a success. After the Jiongu Heart started to do its job, Naruto then pumped some of his own threads into the young boy's body as well.
As he did this Kurama pulled his consciousness down into the seal and from there they both started to try to communicate with the Jiongu in earnest, something that neither of them had really tried to do up till that point. Much to their surprise they were both almost immediately accepted by the new Jiongu that was making its way into every fiber of Yota's being, which then began to pull their minds along the boy's body to various places that were damaged as well as flooding them with what could only be described as complex impressions and voiceless thoughts. Jarring at first both had to exert some of their will in order to slow it all down, something that they both sensed irked the Jiongu somewhat, but once they did it began to make sense to them…..to a point. It seemed that Yota's recovery would require more than just a new heart, but would also require several new organs, muscle fibers and even bone marrow. Luckily for them they had plenty of corpses to spare seeing how they were all as fresh as it gets and had yet to spoil let alone grow cold, what would then transpire would go on to be one of if not the most macabre event in the demons' lives.
After roughly five hours of hauling several bodies up to Yota and allowing his new Jiongu threads to inspect the body, so that it could figure out which parts it wanted to use as replacements, and then actually administering the transplants, both of them were finally done. Both Kurama and Naruto, being fairly tired from the ordeal, had decided to immediately get cleaned up and rest themselves, summoning another batch of Shadow Clones to clean up the mess the two demons quickly got cleaned up and then promptly passed out. It was now the fifth day since Yota's operation and the young boy was finally starting to show signs of movement, prompting them to pay attention as their charge slowly opened his eyes.
"Wh….Wh….Where am I?" Yota asked as he slowly opened his eyes to look around, seeing he was in a familiar room that he knew all too well he was surprised to see he had company. Or more accurately, the type of company he had. Blinking several times in rapid succession Yota did the only thing that he could think of at the time.
"Whaaaahh! Who are you?!" Yota yelled out childishly as he scooted as far away from the two demons as he could, his back pressing up against the wall.
"Shhhhhhh it's all right little one, we're not here to hurt you." cooed Kurama as she gave a gentle reassuring smile to the scared youth.
"T-T-Tenshi…." Yota stuttered out as he got a good look at the demoness in front of him, his face going red as he blushed causing Kurama to giggle.
"Hey, Yota right?" asked Naruto, causing Yota to look at Naruto more closely before nodding.
"Listen, you don't have to be afraid anymore. Those bad men who hurt you are gone now, me and Kurama here chased them away." Naruto said as he slowly approached Yota, making sure to move very slowly for the boy's benefit, Naruto sat down on the edge of the bed and wrapped his tail around him. Taking notice that the little boy's eyes were glued to his unique features gave him an idea.
"Would you like to touch them?" Naruto asked as he tilted his head forward so Yota could have better access to his ears, as he did this he also lifted up his tail to just within Yota's reach.
After a few tense moments Yota hesitantly reached out to stroke Naruto's tail, nearly jumping when it twitched under his hand he nonetheless continued to stroke it before moving onto Naruto's large fox ears. Hesitant at first Yota soon became more comfortable as he petted Naruto, even giving a small laugh as he realised that Naruto had started to purr slightly from Yota's actions. After several minutes of this Kurama moved to the other side of Yota, wrapping a comforting arm around the young boy, she then wrapped several of her tails around him and Naruto both while laying a few on Yota's lap for him to pet. Having talked this out beforehand Naruto and Kurama had decided to simply stay put and let Yota set the pace for the most part, and simply allow him to get comfortable with them naturally before they do anything. After roughly an hour of this Yota finally looked up as if to say something only to be interrupted by a loud gurgling roar, freezing for a second both demons looked at one another before looking down at a now blushing Yota who was now clutching his stomach in embarrassment.
"*GURRRGLE*...Ummmmm, doyouhaveanythingtoeat?" asked Yota, still not being able to look the two demons in the face.
"Hehe sure, only the best food in the whole world!" answered Naruto with a grin as he stood up and walked over to a desk that held a single scroll on it.
"R-Really? You do?" asked Yota hopefully as he started to get excited at the thought of eating for the first time in over a week.
"Sure do! Ever try Ramen?" asked Naruto as he opened up the scroll and quickly unsealed several large bowls of hot, already cooked and prepared ramen before taking one over to Yota with some chopsticks.
"I love Ramen! Itadakimasu!" yelled Yota excitedly as he accepted the bowl and began to scarf it all down at a speed that honestly impressed Naruto. Deciding to simply eat in silence Naruto and Kurama simply kept the bowls coming as Yota devoured bowl after bowl, after bowl, after bowl of ramen from Naruto's personal stash. By the time the young boy had eaten his fill Naruto was crouched in a corner crying over the loss of all of his precious ramen, drawing little circles on the ground with his finger as a small storm cloud rained down on him. A sight that caused Kurama and Yota to laugh at the Hanyou's expense.
"Feeling better now?" Kurama asked as she sipped on some sake.
"Yeah! I'm much better now Mrs. Kurama!" Yota answered excitedly.
"'Mrs. Kurama'?...I didn't know you were married Kyu-chan, who's the lucky guy?" Naruto asked jokingly, getting Kurama to give him a mock glare before a glint of mischief flashed in her eyes.
"Why don't you remember? I'm married to you silly!" Kurama responded with a smirk.
"You are?" asked Yota as he looked between the two demons for a few seconds.
"Yep! We sure are, husband and wife!" chirped Kurama.
"EHHHHH?! Wh-Wh-What the hell are you talking about?! We're not…..you know…" Naruto sputtered as he tried to respond, his face now as red as his hair.
"What is it Naruto?... Are you embarrassed of me?...Or…*sniff*...Am I not….*sniff*...good enough for you?" asked Kurama while making a show of wiping away some fake tears.
"Ahhh! No no no! That's not what I meant!" yelled Naruto shaking his hands as he tried to defuse the situation.
"Naruto-baka you made Mrs. Kurama cry!" Yota yelled childishly as he stood up in his chair and hugged Kurama, with his back turned Yota wasn't able to see Kurama's face as she playfully stuck her tongue out at Naruto who could only sputter in disbelief.
"Shhhhh it's alright Yota-kun, I'm sure Naruto-baka didn't mean it ." said Kurama giggling near the end as Yota yawned, causing Naruto to face fault at just how far south the conversation had gone for him. "Now what do you say we get you to bed?"
"*yawn*...Okay…" Yota said sleepily as Kurama picked him up and carried him back over to the bed and began tucking him in.
"You felt their presence right?" asked Naruto, suddenly getting serious.
"Yeah…...they were dropping like flies all over the place. Hehe, those two certainly didn't hold anything back." responded Kurama as she looked out the window at the full moon.
"I'll go out and meet them, they'll probably be hungry so I'll just take them to the kitchen." siad Naruto as he got up and headed for the door.
"Alright, I'll wait here with Yota-kun for a while and then meet you in the kitchen." responded Kurama as she slowly stroked Yota's cheek, causing the young boy to smile in his sleep.
As Naruto headed down the stairs to the main entrance, he thought back on what had gone on in the last few days that Yota was essentially in a coma. Naruto and Kurama had not been idle as they took stock of the castle, its every nook and cranny, as well as its secrets. After about seven hours of being searched top to bottom by hordes of Shadow Clones, Naruto and Kurama were honestly impressed by what they had found. The castle that the late Oda and his crew had built was indeed a fortress in every sense of the word, its geographical location made it the perfect spot for either military or illegal activities.
Seeing how it was nestled into the mountains meant that passerby ships would have an extremely hard time spotting it save for a very small harbor, and the fact that it was designed with traps in mind for dealing with enemy shinobi was a huge bonus. If Naruto didn't have the ability to fly then it would have taken him and Kurama hours to sneak into the castle, as things stood it would take someone of ANBU level skill in order to sneak into the fortress. After they had taken stock of the castle and its wares, the two demons had then gone about dealing with the smugglers that had arrived not soon after they had taken over the place.
A couple of well placed Demonic Genjutsus had the entire crew plus their boss, some fat midget in a business suit named Gato, screaming and cursing as they ran for their lives from what they thought was an active volcano. To their credit they did have some reason to run for their lives as Naruto had used his Toxic Luster Bomb to destroy the tops of one of the mountains right next to the castle, so that way if anyone showed back up later they would see the remains of essentially an inside out mountain. It had then been a simple matter of Naruto and Kurama spending the evening soaking the footpath leading up to the castle in fire for several hours, an act that had reduced everything there to ash and had melted most of the rocks and mountain sides. All in all after having fun with their Katon jutsus, the two of them had managed to make it look like there really had been a volcano that had erupted and melted everything around it. But that wasn't what was nagging on Naruto's mind as he approached the large front door, what had been a main topic of discussion between him and Kurama was not only the report that they had given to the Akatsuki, but also finally telling Kakuzu and Hitome the truth.
Flashback, 2 days after killing Oda
Giving Kurama a firm nod Naruto quickly sped through the hand signs necessary before channeling chakra into his ring, after a few moments Naruto felt a familiar tug on his consciousness before he closed his eyes. When he opened them back up he was standing on a very familiar statue's finger surrounded by the holograms of the Akatsuki, looking around Naruto saw that everyone was there.
"Hello Naruto-kun." greeted Pein and Konan almost simultaneously.
"Good to see you guys again." responded Naruto.
"What? And you didn't miss me either? I'm hurt Gaki!" cracked Hitome as Kakuzu pinched his nose in irritation.
"It's good to see you too Hitome-sensei." replied Naruto with a good natured grin.
"So, I take it by the fact that you called for all of us, that means that your mission was successful?" inquired Pein.
"Hai, it was. I went ahead and took care of him as instructed, however there are three other developments that sprung up after I had killed Oda and his men." answered Naruto gaining looks of interest from the gathered Akatsuki.
"Such as?" asked Kakuzu in his typical gravelly voice.
"Oda and his crew were the ones who originally built the castel, however they had help, all of that building supplies and manpower had to come from somewhere. So after cleaning up the mess I made, I sent Shadow Clones to sweep through the castle and find anything of value." answered Naruto.
"Oh really? And what did you find Naruto-kun?" asked Orochimaru.
"Apparently some rich guy named Gato used his company to build the place illegally, and the whole place was being used as a central hub for drug and human trafficking." responded Naruto.
"Hmmmm, this goes along with some of the reports that we had gotten when we first started looking into Oda. But we didn't know the extent of their operation, or who he was in business with." said Hitome with a frown.
"Yeah, it turned out that Gato was supposed to show up not long after I had taken out Oda. So I went ahead and melted most of the place leading up to the castle the day before they arrived. When they did show up I hit them with a Genjutsu to make them think that a volcano had gone off and destroyed everything." informed Naruto, gaining a surprised look from some of the Akatsuki members.
"Well well, now that's certainly resourceful of you Naruto-kun. I'm impressed." replied Orochimaru with a smile.
"Thanks, and yeah this place is pretty much ours now as the previous owners have no reason to ever want to come back here. Best part is that this place was built specifically for keeping out enemy ninjas, BY NINJAS. Honestly I don't think anyone who isn't AMBU or at least Jounin level is going to be able to break in here as it is, and we can always improve this place however we need it. I've already got a few ideas for some seals that I could put up around this place to beef up the security, it'll take me a while though." said Naruto as he successfully suppressed a shudder at having to talk to Orochimaru.
"Well done Naruto-kun." congratulated Pein. "However you mentioned that there were three developments, by my count that was only two. What is the last one?" he asked, getting straight to the point.
"I found a little kid who was about to be sold off for slavery around 6 years old, his name is Yota." answered Naruto seriously. "When I found him he only had about a month to live due to an illness that was killing him, I used my Jiongu to rip out Oda's heart and give it to Yota in order to save him….as well as replace most of his organs and bone marrow that was damaged by the disease."
"You what?!" Kakuzu all but snarled after hearing what Naruto had to say.
"You heard me, I saved his life. He's sleeping right now about five feet away from me, but that's not all." responded Naruto, not giving anyone a chance to speak he continued. "Turns out Yota is the last of his clan, the Bofuu clan."
"The Bofuu clan?" asked Kisame confusedly.
"The Bofuu clan are a nomadic clan that travel the Elemental Nations, they have a unique Kekkei Genkai that allows them to create and manipulate any and all forms of weather." answered Orochimaru, catching the attention of everyone present. "I've been trying to get a chance to study their Kekkei Genkai for years, ever since the Second Shinobi War. The brief run in I had with them was enough to send the entire battalion that myself and Tsunade were leading in the other direction, because of them we had to take a much longer route than normal as we tried to make our way into Rain Country from River Country. However it seems they've fallen on hard times if this is their fate, and given how often people die in human trafficking young Yota may very well be the last of his clan."
"Very interesting." murmured Pein as he soaked all of the information in. "Am I to take it that you would like to take him on as a pupil of sorts?"
"Something like that yeah." Naruto answered at length, nodding his head. "At the very least I want to keep an eye on him long enough to make sure that I can find a place where he would be safe, like another Hidden Village that would appreciate having him in their ranks. But for now I think I'll keep him here with me and train him on how to be a Shinobi, this place is perfect for that, besides I need to stick around for a while so I can turn this place into a real stronghold with my seals."
"Just how hard is it to find this place?" questioned Juzo. "I mean we were able to find it and give directions that an eleven year old could follow to get there…...No offense Naruto." Juzo offered near the end.
"None taken." replied Naruto. "And to answer your question I've had a bunch of Shadow Clones flying around the entire area, stopping at different points in order to see if anyone could actually see the castle from a distance. And from what I've found, the surrounding mountains perfectly conceal it from all sides and angles. No one is going to know about this place unless they are told about it….which reminds me, just how did you guys find out about this place? Cause even with directions, I was only able to find it because I could fly like Kakuzu." asked Naruto, suddenly curious.
"We were lucky enough to catch one of Oda's men and get the information out of him on where his boss was hiding, I then added him to my collection." answered Sasori in a low gravelly voice.
"Oh, cool. By the way, how is that kid I told you about? Is he still raising Hell over there in Suna?" Naruto asked.
"You mean the Kazekage's eldest son? Yes, he shows promise in the art of puppetry and from what I saw on my last visit has begun incorporating the use of seals into his work." said Sasori.
"Great, I'll have to look him up the next time I'm over there and see what he's gotten himself into!" chirped Naruto.
"Not that this isn't entertaining but we need to get back on point." Kakuzu interjected, having quickly grown tired of what he considered to be pointless back and forth.
"Kakuzu is right." agreed Konan.
"Naruto-kun, if you wish to look after the young boy while you improve the castle for the Akatsuki's use then so be it. But you will still have to turn in the bodies in order to collect the bounties." reminded Pein as he fixed his gaze on the young Hanyou.
"Way ahead of you, I already sent a group of Shadow Clones to the usual location in Eastern Fire Country." responded Naruto. "But I'm going to need you to send someone to pick up the cash here, Shadow Clones only last so long and having them bring the cash all the way back here was already a bit of a stretch. I had to seal several of them in a sealing scroll that could be carried, so that way they could be unsealed as needed till they brought back the money. By the time the first batch of clones made it to the drop station there was only one left, and he dispelled after unsealing the rest that were in the scroll."
"Fair point." conceded Pein, after some thought he looked over to Kakuzu and Hitome. "You two are the closest, and considering how you're heading to Snow Country soon to speak with the new leader, if anything the reward money will make for a useful bargaining chip during negotiations." Pein surmised.
"Kukuku, Leader-sama is correct." said Orochimaru. "Snow Country has never been a truly wealthy nation, though the leaders have always managed to keep their people happy and fed. From what I understand, the desire to bring the land to the heights of innovation and technology is one of the reasons why there was a coup in the first place. So offering that kind of money would make for a good motivator to conduct business with us."
"Well then, looks like everything's going to be working out one way or another." said Naruto happily. "When will you guys be showing up?"
"We'll be there in 3 days." answered Kakuzu gruffly.
"Very well, if that is all then this meeting is adjourned." said Pein before his hologram disappeared.
End of Flashback
As Naruto opened up the door he was not surprised in the least to see an extremely bloody Kakuzu and Hitome, one of whom looked pissed…...the other not so much. Without even a word the two Akatsuki members stalked into the castle, the aura that Kakuzu was giving off causing Naruto to unconsciously gulp.
"Do you have any idea…..what we just had to go through because of you young man?" Kakuzu growled.
"Uhhhhhhhh….no?" replied Naruto.
"Oh come on Ero-Musha it's not like it was that bad! There were only 50 of them..." replied a very satisfied looking Hitome…..who appeared to be rubbing some of the blood into her skin through the bandages that covered her chest.
"It is when the shinobi in question are from Konoha!" yelled Kakuzu before he quickly took a deep breath to regain his composure, after a moment he spoke once again. "Shower first. Food second. Then we talk." And with that he began walking down the hall with Naruto and Hitome quickly following suit, with Naruto muttering directions to the rooms he had prepared for the both of them. Not saying a word when they reached their destination Kakuzu entered his own room before slamming the door behind him, the noise echoing with an odd sense of finality.
"Soooo….what's eating Kakuzu?" Naruto asked Hitome who had oddly enough been silent up until that moment.
"Hmmm? Oh, nothing! He's just being an ass as usual. Well I'll see you in a bit gaki." Hitome replied before quickly going into her own quarters and slamming the door shut, leaving Naruto standing there slightly confused. After about 30 minutes Kakuzu and Hitome both emerged in clean clothing having showered and changed, with a jerk of his head Naruto started walking towards the kitchen with the two of them in tow. After arriving at the kitchen the two Akatsuki both came to an abrupt halt at the doorway as they saw Kurama was there cooking, wearing an apron over her regular kimono with her ears and tails out for all to see.
"I know you two are there so you might as well take a seat at the table and wait, we can talk after dinner." said Kurama without looking up from a rather large pot that she was stirring a ladle in, lifting it up to her mouth to take a sip of the broth she made a small sound of delight at the taste. "Soup's ready!" she exclaimed happily.
"I know it's a lot to take in but just go with it guys." said Naruto, gaining the two Akatsuki's attention. "I promise everything will be explained after dinner." Without another word Naruto then shoved a large bowl and spoon into each of their hands before walking up to the stove, after sharing a brief look Kakuzu and HItome decided to play along. Filling their bowls they all sat down for an extremely awkward dinner, with Kakuzu and Hitome taking the time to study Kurama as they ate. They both came to the conclusion that she had to be either a Hanyou or the Kyuubi, after eating and the bowls were put away Kurama spoke.
"I know you have questions so ask them now." she said as she sat down.
"Are you the Kyuubi?" asked Kakuzu, not wasting any time.
"Yes."
"How did you get out of the seal without killing the brat?" asked Hitome as she adopted a serious expression.
With a sigh Kurama began to tell the two of what happened during the year that they spent at Pei Mei's mountain, how hidden there in the mountain tops are an entire civilization of Tengu Demons, and how they asked the Shinigami to release her. By the time Kurama had finished her story both Kakuzu and Hitome were very quiet as they processed everything they were told.
"Oh! Also, I was told to give a message to you Hitome-sensei." said Naruto, getting the attention of the female Akatsuki member who was lost deep in thought.
"Oh? From who?" she asked.
"Jashin-sama." replied Naruto, causing both Hitome and Kakuzu to freeze.
"H-He….H-He w-was here?" Hitome stuttered after finally finding her voice.
"At our old bunker…..he was the one who found me after my fight with Fugaku." Naruto answered quietly. "He told me to tell you, 'The Red Harvest Draws Near'." Gaining a gasp from Hitome as she then clutched her Jashinist pendant, which to everyone's surprise released a soft red glow for a few seconds before dying out.
"You've certainly been busy brat." said Kakuzu, speaking up after a minute or so had passed. "Regardless of how you managed to spring...Kurama….from her prison this changes everything, you know that this means we're enemies now don't you? I won't be the one to kill you out of respect for your clan, but I won't save you either." he stated pointedly.
"Now necessarily Kakuzu-san." said Kurama, causing Kakuzu to look in her direction.
"And how do you figure?" Kakuzu growled.
"Because your boss is going to destroy everything-" Kurama attempted to say only for Hitome to cut in.
"Pffff! Yeah! Yeah! We know already!" stated Hitome gaining a raised eyebrow from Kurama. "Pein-sama already told us what his plan is, and neither of us care!"
"That's not what I'm talking about." replied Kurama with a frown. "What I'm talking about is that massive statue that you like to stand on whenever you and the rest of the Akatsuki hold your meetings." she said, causing both Akatsuki members to tense.
"And what do you know about the Gedo Mazo?" asked Kakuzu, his eyes narrowing.
"Hmpf, for one I used to be a part of it." answered Kurama, shocking the other two. Kurama then began to tell them the story of how she and the other Bijuu came to be, their origins, and how their father was the Sage of Six Paths. While at first neither believed a word that Kurama was saying, a substantial portion of their doubts were quelled when Naruto summoned the Uzumaki Clan Scroll and showed them both the same scroll that he had shown Nagato. From there Naruto took over and explained everything else, detailing how both the Sage of Six Paths and his brother were both equally powerful mortal gods who had to fight the Juubi. How an entire continent had been destroyed during the battle, and even with their combined power they still weren't able to defeat the Juubi. But what had shocked the two Akatsuki the most during this revelation was how the Sage had eventually opted to seal the Juubi inside of himself and became the first Jinchuriki. From there Naruto went on to explain what had happened when he and Nagato first met, the conversation they had, their reunion as clan members, as well as despite Naruto's best efforts the agreement that he and Nagato had come to. By the end of it all both Akatsuki members were sitting there stunned as they processed everything that was said, neither of them knew what to say to any of this and it showed in their expressions.
"So….." Naruto began nervously, hoping that this next part would go smoothly. "Any thoughts on joining us?"
"Oh? And just what did you have in mind?" asked Kakuzu who was slightly amused by the young Hanyou's proposition.
"That when the time comes you help us stop them." Naruto answered simply. "I'm going to try to dissuade Nagato from the course he's taken in the meantime, but if I can't get through to him then we'll need help to bring him and the Akatsuki down."
"My father was one of the most powerful beings to have ever walked the Earth, but even he couldn't defeat the Juubi and he had help in that fight from his brother who was just as powerful." stated Kurama seriously.
"So….Nagato wants to turn himself into a god huh?" Hitome asked at some length, the venom in her voice oozing out as the grip on her chair turned her knuckles white. "It's sacrilege as far as I'm concerned, the only person who gets to destroy the world is Jashin and his chosen. Taking that son of a bitch down will be a pleasure." she said snarling near the end.
"I'm glad we have you on board Hitome-sensei." Naruto said gratefully before looking over to Kakuzu who had yet to answer. "And what about you?" Naruto asked, not sure how things would play out.
"If Pein wants to turn himself into a god and destroy everything, well I can only blame you for being stupid and putting that idea into his head to begin with." Kakuzu stated, causing Naruto to balk while Kurama narrowed her eyes slightly, as Naruto went to speak Kakuzu held his hand up to silence him.
"Despite all of that, the fact remains that if Pein is successful then everything is going to be destroyed pure and simple. That means the end of money as far as I'm concerned, at least with his original plan there was a guarantee that there would still be money to be made afterwards. If Pein wins then that also means that you will die, and like it or not you're the closest thing I have to family left. And I would actually like to see the Return of the Uzumaki." he said, shocking everyone in the room as he laid a scroll down on the table.
"K-Kakuzu…" gasped Naruto at a loss for words.
"Finally coming out and saying it then huh?" asked Hitome who was oddly serious.
"Shut up." growled Kakuzu as he opened up the scroll and unsealed a bloodied corpse with a blank ANBU mask that had a single kanji for 'ROOT' on the center of the forehead of the mask. "This is something that we have to deal with, and fast."
"The weird ANBU? What about them?" asked Hitome confusedly.
"I'm with Hitome on this one, what's so special about them?" asked Kurama.
"They're from Konoha." answered Kakuzu, causing Naruto and Kurama to tense up. "Hmpf, glad to see I've got your attention. These ANBU are actually from a very special sect of Konoha's Special Forces, they don't exist on any of the village's rosters or files, and they don't even answer to the Hokage." Kakuzu explained, causing everyone's eyes to shoot up in surprise at the last part.
"That can't be possible, what idiot would allow for any military force to exist in his village that he himself didn't directly control?!" exclaimed Hitome.
"Yeah I'm not buying it Kakuzu, Jiji doesn't exactly strike me as the kind of-" Naruto started to say before he was cut off.
"Do shut up boy." Kakuzu growled. "ROOT came about after the end of the Second Shinobi World War as an unfortunate necessity due to the international tensions, where a clandestine war had to be fought that would provide each nation with the chance of stalling the next war."
"Kakuzu-san, you mean…" Kurama trailed off.
"Yes, each of the Five Great Villages has such a force. One that would provide their respective villages with plausible deniability, as the shinobi, if captured, would have no records or identifying marks on them, as if they never existed. However Konoha's ROOT were unique, in that their leader Danzo Shimura, would break all his recruits to the point where they felt virtually no emotions whatsoever." explained Kakuzu.
"Wait a minute, how do you know all of this?" asked Hitome, causing everyone to look questioningly at Kakuzu.
"Because at one point or another I've worked for each and every single Hidden Village, along with their Shadow Organizations." answered Kakuzu. "I've been an active shinobi for the better part of a century, do you really think that all I did before joining the Akatsuki was Bounty Hunting? I do a lot more than just collect bounties and manage the Akatsuki's finances."
"Okay, so what do you think happened? Do you think that Jiji might have…." Naruto trailed off, not wanting to finish the thought in his own head, let alone out loud.
"No." Kakuzu said much to Naruto's silent relief. "As I understand it, while Danzo and the Hokage were best friends back in the day, they grew apart after the Second Hokage died. To the point where at one point Danzo supposedly tried, and failed, to assassinate Hiruzen after he had resumed his role as Hokage."
"WHAT?!" yelled everyone at the table.
"That bastard tried to kill my Jiji?! How is he even alive?!" Naruto all but roared.
"Why would Hiruzen tolerate such a man?" asked Kurama, furious at what she was hearing..
"Because he's useful." Kakuzu answered simply, causing everyone to falter for a moment. "You have to remember that ROOT is hands down the greatest Special Forces organization in the world, and is fanatically loyal to Konoha. That organization has ended wars before they could even begin. ROOT has prevented at least 15 different wars from happening since the end of the Third Great War, and easily twice as many from happening after the Second Great War." explained Kakuzu as he resealed the corpse of the ROOT agent. "During the last two Shinobi Wars there was so much blood and death that even I had to leave for Iron Country once or twice, at least those samurai kept to themselves and never fucked with other people."
"That's odd coming from you." muttered Naruto and Hitome.
"Anyways, the fact remains that they were most likely tracking you down Naruto." said Kakuzu. "Their leader is a die hard fanatic who has only remained alive because he's always managed to at least appear to be more useful alive than dead, that and he's always made sure that nothing could ever possibly be traced back to him or Konoha."
"That still does not make it right." growled Kurama.
"Hmpf, never said it did." retorted Kakuzu.
"So what does this guy want with Naruto?" asked Hitome.
"Knowing that cantankerous bastard, he'd try to brainwash Naruto and turn him into his own personal weapon. One that he would use 'for the good of Konoha', and to 'strike out at Konoha's enemies'." answered Kakuzu with air quotes, something that looked oddly comical coming from such a man.
"Why do I get the feeling that if even half the shit this dude ever got out, every single nation would try to wipe out Konoha?" Naruto asked dryly.
"Alright this Danzo is clearly dangerous to the extreme, but what do you suggest we do about it?" asked Kurama.
"That's….a good question. I'm honestly not too sure." replied Kakuzu scratching his chin in thought.
"Wait, actually I've got an idea." said Naruto, speaking up. "It's something that me and Kurama were planning to talk to you guys about."
"And what would that be?" asked Hitome, arching her eyebrow.
"What if you were to help me join one of the Major Hidden Villages? Like Kumo?" said Naruto.
"Oh? And why Kumo hmm?" asked Kakuzu. "You know that they were one of the villages that destroyed your clan right?"
"That didn't stop you from working with them over the years." countered Naruto.
"Fair point." Kakuzu conceded. "But that still doesn't answer the question boy."
"Because as far as I'm concerned they're the best possible place for me to actually rebuild my clan." answered Naruto, causing Hitome and Kakuzu to pause before Hitome got a sly look on her face.
"Ohhhhhhh I get it" Hitome said with a smirk, causing Naruto to pale at what he just knew was coming next . "You just want a place where you can make little demon kits with that walking, talking furry over there!" Hitome exclaimed while pointing at Kurama who at least had the decency to blush at the accusation and look away while covering her face with one of her tails. Something that only made it worse as Hitome began to giggle uncontrollably.
"Kids…..they grow up so fast. Only Eleven years old and not only does he have a total babe following him around, he's already thinking about having children." Kakuzu chimed in, not being able to help himself as a rare smile spread across his face, pulling taught against the stitches of his Glasgow smile.
"Jashin damnit." cursed Naruto causing a rare laugh to escape from Kakuzu.
"Haha! Teasing you aside, your idea does have some merit to it." Kakuzu said as his smile soon faded away to a more neutral expression. "Normally I would have a person of interest simply join the official ranks of Ame, but that would draw far too much attention to us and the Akatsuki."
"Not to mention a place like Kumo is far enough away that anyone looking for you there will basically be on the other side of the continent as far away from Ame as possible, which means we can operate in the shadows easier." chimed in Hitome as she began to mull the idea over. "Kumo was always one of the all-time strongest villages no matter what time period we're talking about, Hell the current Raikage was known for being able to go toe to toe with your old man and drive him back."
"Seriously?" asked Naruto incredulously, not believing what he was hearing. "My dad was the strongest there was when he was alive, wasn't he?" he thought to himself.
"Hmpf, it's true." confirmed Kakuzu, shocking Naruto and Kurama. "A Yotsuki, is the son of the Nidaime Raikage and is the uncontested master of Raiton jutsu in the world, he is also currently the fastest man alive."
"But he was still slower than my dad though, wasn't he?" asked Naruto.
"There's nothing faster than instant teleportation." Kakuzu responded dryly. "Take away your father's 'Flying Raijin Jutsu' however and he was slower, and that's with the Raikage using his Raiton no Yoroi at about 50 percent. Otherwise they were both equally fast as one another." he explained, drawing curious looks from the two demons.
"Lightning Armor?" asked Kurama.
"The prized secret jutsu of the Raikages, and believe me you do NOT want to fight anyone who is using it. I personally killed the Shodaime Raikage and that was almost as difficult as my fight with Hashirama Senju, and I do not say that lightly." stated Kakuzu, further shocking the two demons as well as Hitome. "The jutsu essentially makes you immune to physical harm as the armor forms a protective shroud of pure lightning around you, as well as making you immune to practically all forms of Genjutsu since the sheer raw lightning chakra circulating around you and inside of you makes it impossible for any illusion to take hold. And above all else you move faster than the literal speed of lightning, meaning only the absolute fastest people in the world will even be able to evade your attacks, let alone see them coming."
"Woah….I'm starting to see why he was able to push back my father." Naruto said quietly as he thought of what Kakuzu had just told him.
"Well yeah, even though Minato could teleport around it's not like he could actually land a hit on the Raikage." said Hitome. "The armor would just protect him from anything your father would try to hit him with like it was nothing, the only thing he was able to do was dodge. All of his comrades however were a different story, as the Raikage would also make sure to target any Konoha forces that were nearby in order to force your father to intervene and a couple of times it did work."
"In all the times they fought during the last Shinobi War the Raikage was only able to land a hit on the Yondaime once, and from what I heard it required Minato to spend an entire month in recovery." said Kakuzu.
"Great…" said Naruto weakly as he honestly started to have second thoughts about going to Kumo now.
"This might actually work…" Kakuzu said thoughtfully. " The Raikage actually has several different reasons to want to take you in Naruto, chiefly among them being that he would get you."
"What do you mean?" asked Naruto and Kurama simultaneously.
" I mean that for one his village would benefit economically from having a rich and wealthy Shinobi Clan rebuild itself within their borders, another is that he would get a clan that not only was one of the most powerful to have ever walked the earth, but also specialized in Fuinjutsu. Which is a field that none of the other villages outside of Konoha have ever been able to truly tap into, and with Konoha that was mostly because of the Shodaime's wife who was an Uzumaki Seal Mistress. And finally, any children that you have would all be Hanyou's as well which would be the literal equivalent to a shinobi clan with a very powerful Kekkei Genkai. And it's already been a well known and established fact that Kumo has the least amount of Bloodlines Users out of all of the other villages, and they have been trying for years to get more to move to Kumo." As Kakuzu listed off the reasons an odd look passed over his face for a moment, as though realizing something.
"What is it Kakuzu?" asked Hitome, who noticed the look as well as everyone else.
"If we're going to go through with this, then something that we're going to need to do is sweeten the deal for him and his village by providing a sense of security over the matter." stated Kakuzu, much to everyone's confusion.
"'Sweeten the deal'? It sounds like the deal is already sweet enough for Kumo to me!" remarked Kurama, gaining a nod from Naruto and Hitome who were in agreement.
"We're going to need to make sure that you have legitimate reasons to stay in Kumo, something that would ensure that you want to protect the village from all of its enemies no matter what. An anchor of sorts that keeps you tied to the village and ensures your loyalty…...in other words….you're going to have to get married to someone from that village." After Kakuzu said this there was a very long heavy silence, as no one said a word but instead digested everything the aged shinobi had just said.
"EEEEEHHHHHH?!" cried Naruto scandalously.
"You AND Yota now that I think of it." Kakuzu clarified, enjoying the look on the young Hanyou's face. "And now to go in for the kill…" he thought to himself. "And of course you'll both have to have at least one child by a certain age, I believe it's 18 if I'm not mistaken."
"Awuh…..B-B-But I….a-an-nd well…." was Naruto's intelligent reply before his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he promptly passed out, face planting the table.
"Congratulations Kakuzu…..you broke him." Hitome commented with a snicker as Kakuzu chuckled, clearly pleased with himself.
"As amusing as that was Kakuzu-san, we still need him conscious if we're to get anywhere." said Kurama as she tried in vain to stifle a laugh at Naruto's expense, oh she'd definitely tease him over all of this later. For now however, he was needed in the land of the living and so after a few moments of shaking his shoulder the young Hanyou finally came to.
"You guys are mean!" Naruto exclaimed with a pout, clearly embarrassed. "Still though Kakuzu-sensei…..will I really have to...you know…" he asked, finding it difficult to even finish the sentence.
"Yes, you want a place where you are guaranteed to be able to bring your clan back in relative safety. And as it stands this is the best way to go about it, with the backing of one of the most powerful Hidden Villages behind you, almost no one will be able to threaten any of your wives and children. The same would go for Yota as well, as he would also benefit from this as well and I think you and I can both agree that he stands to benefit the most from moving to a Hidden Village like Kumo." answered Kakuzu.
"He'd probably be able to get a lot of things that I never got the chance of having huh?" replied Naruto, as he thought of some of the things that he had missed out on these last several years. "Such as a shot at a normal life?" he asked, gaining a terse nod from Kakuzu.
"You'd also be able to benefit in much the same ways as well Naruto-kun." said Kurama comfortingly, as she reached over to gently squeeze his hand.
"*sigh* Alright then I'll agree to all of that extra stuff." Naruto said at length. "But first things first, we're going to need to work on a way to convince my cousin to let me and Yota join Kumo."
"Right you are." agreed Kakuzu.
"Well let's get started!" exclaimed Hitome, the four of them then spent the next several hours working on just what they would do as well as what they would say in order to get Pein to agree.
6 months later
The last several months had been interesting to say the least, it was now finally the middle of Spring as what remnants of the snow and ice from the previous winter melted away. Walking up the paved road, Naruto couldn't believe just what had all happened since that fateful day when he had finally gotten his revenge on Fugaku. Looking back now it seemed like a dream to him, and as silly as it sounded Naruto couldn't shake the feeling that now was the end of a chapter in his life and the beginning of a new one. And he was excited. How could he not be? He was finally entering Kumo and Yota was with him! After he, Kurama, Kakuzu, and Hitome had gotten the basics down for their plan they had turned in for the night. The very next morning had been interesting to say the least, especially when Yota had met Kakuzu and Hitome for the first time. Where the little boy called Hitome a 'hentai' for walking around without a shirt on and only chest bindings, an indignant Hitome had proceeded to try to give the young boy an atomic noogie only to wind up getting doused in a waterfall of 'rain' and then zapped with lightning. Once Kakuzu intervened and sorted everything out they all talked over lunch over what they were going to do next.
For starters they would have Kurama begin giving Yota all of the same lessons that they had all given Naruto when he was at that age, and would even have Yota sleep with Kurama and Naruto in the same bed so that way they could make use of the time dilation of the seal to continue teaching the young boy. And just like with Naruto, Yota began to learn and pick up everything that he needed to learn and know, and much more at the same speed that Naruto had. Essentially causing him to mentally age 1.5 years in under 6 months. Naruto and Kurama also drilled Yota in the basics of chakra theory, having him do exercises such as sticking leaves to his forehead with nothing but chakra, and then eventually moving up to using rocks, and then quickly they had to show him the tree walking technique. Something that everyone at the fort noticed, was how easily Yota was able to take to the chakra exercises, after a few tests by Kakuzu they were able to confirm that Yota naturally had amazing chakra control which Kakuzu and Kurama theorized stemmed from a combination of natural talent as well as Yota's near constant use of his Bloodline Limit.
Meanwhile Naruto was busy for the first 8 weeks they were there at the fort both working and training with Kakuzu and Hitome, after that first morning the three of them had gotten to work trying to figure out all of the things that they would need to improve the fort. Such as an invisible sealing array that covers the entirety of the outside of the fort, making it impossible for any shinobi to use chakra to walk up the sides and walls of the fort. As well as making sure to set up a massive array of seals all around the outside perimeter of the fort that would trigger a silent alarm, alerting the fort's inhabitants to intruders the moment they set foot within one hundred yards of the outside walls.
Another thing that Naruto and Kakuzu did was set up a gauntlet of fuinjutsu traps all over the surrounding mountain sides and forests, traps meant to go off whenever a chakra signature larger than an animal's or the average civilian walked by. When it came time for this Kakuzu had to admit, begrudgingly, that Naruto's cunning and prankster nature truly showed. The traps that he and the aged shinobi set up were some that made even him a little wary, as it gave him some unpleasant flashbacks to when he was living in Uzu…..he'd recognize that crazed look anywhere, it was the look of an Uzumaki with mischief on his mind. Every trap had some sort of an explosive element to them, with some that would blind you briefly as chains sprung up to bind you only to get hit by a dozen or so poisoned senbon needles. To others that would explode not once, not twice, but a total of three times! And each explosion would be accompanied by some form of shrapnel that would get progressively bigger with each blast, starting with hundreds of shuriken, to a hundred kunai, and then finally fifty Demon Windmill Shuriken. All flying through the air in a full three hundred and sixty degree radius, Kakuzu found himself redefining the term 'Overkill' multiple times that day. By the time they were finally finished with upgrades to the fort, Kakuzu was sweating as he wondered just what it was he had created, as he watched Naruto laugh evilly as he scribbled something else into a little book he had taken to writing in for Fuinjutsu ideas.
Next was the meeting where they would actually try to convince Pein to go ahead and let Naruto join Kumo, something that was made more difficult as they would also have to convince the rest of the Akatsuki of as well. When it finally came time for the meeting they had first started off by giving a report of their progress with the fort, something that had all of them pleased to hear as they essentially had a massive base of operations within Fire Country that no one else in the world knew about. And as for the fools who built it they could all be dealt with discretely, though they would at least make sure to keep Gato alive for the time being till his usefulness ran out. Something that had all of them particularly pleased to hear was an idea that Hitome of all people had pitched, about hollowing out the mountain that the fort is built into the side of. As well as creating a series of tunnels that go through the surrounding mountains and countryside, that if the worst should happen they would have avenues of escape, along with tunnels that could be used to surprise enemy forces.
Afterward had come the part that they had prepared for, Naruto had gone on to explain that a large part of it was that he wanted a place that he could use not only for rebuilding his clan but also giving Yota a place where he could live. Stating that this would also benefit the Akatsuki as a group, because they would have a person on the inside that would be able to feed them vital information when the time came to start collecting the Bijuu. Someone that would have every reason to want to defend Kumo would be the last person that they would expect, especially given how he's a Jinchuriki as well. The organization wouldn't even actively hunt down people like him till he was in his 20's, so he would've been a part of Kumo long enough that no one would ever suspect him as he would have had plenty of time to establish himself.
As they had discussed earlier, Kakuzu and Hitome made sure to voice their disagreement with Naruto over this as they had already put too much time and energy into training him into something useful just for him to leave the organization. Especially when they were going to need him to be out collecting bounties, and performing missions for them later. Only for Naruto to counter with how thanks to his clan's scroll he can access their hidden wealth whenever he wants, so he could easily fund many of the Akatsuki's different projects that way.
This caused Juzo and Kisame to get involved in the discussions as well along with Sasori who even pitched in his two cents on the issue, as despite what everyone thought all agreed that there was still merit to what Naruto was proposing despite the obvious risks. And there were risks, all of which Orochimaru was keen to point out. First being the obvious that this was Naruto's attempt at trying to run to one of the Major Hidden Villages for protection, still oddly enough Orochimaru turned out to support the idea the most out of everyone there. The man went about listing many different reasons for having Naruto within Kumo's walls as their double agent, something that Sasori agreed with citing his own use of informants within Suna, Konoha, and Iwa.
As it stood the Akatsuki didn't have anything setup within the Land of Lightning or Kumo for that matter, and having a mole within Kumo would be necessary for drawing out the two Jinchuriki that lived there. Seeing how Kumo was already a near impenetrable stronghold to begin with, the Akatsuki had agreed to leave the village for last since it already had one 'perfect Jinchuuriki' with the Hachibi. The Jinchuuriki for the Nibi would also be at the same level of skill by the time it came time for them to strike.
With all of this going on Pein and Konan remained silent as they listened to what everyone was saying, appearing to mull over the information and points that everybody brought up. Though in reality the both of them were using a secret function of the rings that only they had access to, and were mentally communicating with one another. Since as far as they knew, they were the only ones with knowledge of the conversation that Nagato and Naruto had when he had visited Ame, the underlying message was loud and clear to them. Naruto was making his move, he was making the first move in the contest of wills that he and Pein had started, and was making a bold one. Eventually there came a lull as everyone looked to Pein to see what his decision would be, much to their surprise Pein permitted it on the condition that Naruto work to begin sending them intel somehow within the first year.
From there Kakuzu made sure to begrudgingly say how he had a few old contacts from his mercenary days that should still be in Lightning Country, and that he'd take some time to check in with them and get things ready so that Naruto could make his way to Kumo. That was assuming any of them were still alive since he hadn't been in contact with any of them in roughly fifteen years. Accepting that, Pein then called the meeting to a close and promptly disappeared, prompting the others to leave as well. From there things progressed in a relatively peaceful manner as Naruto spent time hanging out with Yota whenever he wasn't training or working on the fort. It seemed to take no time at all for Naruto to start to see Yota as a little brother, something that Yota seemed to reciprocate as he started to call Naruto 'Onii-san'. This only made them grow closer together as friends as they quickly became inseparable, with Naruto deciding to step up and be the older brother that Yota needed.
Eventually Kakuzu was able to confirm that none of his old contacts were active or even alive, as most of them were either dead or missing, and the few that were still around were simply enjoying what time they had left on earth before they died. This made things unfortunately much more simple and reckless, as it left them with only one other choice. One that Naruto did not approve of as he grumbled to himself, all the while walking down the main road towards the Kumo Main Gates. He was simply going to walk through the front entrance and announce himself.
"Nii-san, are we there yet?" asked Yota for the thousandth time.
"Almost, we'll be at the Main Gate in another twenty minutes." answered Naruto, his eyebrow twitching as tried to ignore the headache that was threatening to split his head open. As much as he loved his 'little brother' the guy sure knew how to annoy the Hell out of him! Ever since the first hour that they had spent traveling to Kumo, Yota had been asking him and Kurama that same question over and over. It got to the point where Kurama had gone back into the seal and left Naruto to fend for himself….the traitor!
"Teehehe, oh come on Naruto-kun it's not that bad. Besides, it's not like you were any better when you were that age." chided Kurama who had spent the last couple days enjoying Naruto's reactions to Yota.
"Was I really that bad?" asked Naruto.
"Nope! You were worse!" chirped Kurama who broke out into a fit of giggles as Naruto face palmed. Grumbling to himself Naruto looked up to see that they had arrived at the gate, steeling himself he gave a quick look to Yota who gave a nod in return as he suddenly got serious as well.
"Please state your name and reason for coming to Kumo." said a Chunin shinobi as he looked up from his paperwork to get a good look at Naruto and Yota.
"Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze and Yota Bofuu, here to apply for citizenship in Kumogakure." answered Naruto in as clear a voice as he could.
"Uh huh, alright then first show me your papers as well as sign here and…" the shinobi stopped as he quickly refocused his eyes on Naruto, looking closely at Naruto and Yota for a moment the Chunin's eyes swept around their immediate vicinity for a moment before resting back on them. "Where's your parents? Are you two seriously traveling alone?" he asked with a slight look of concern making its way onto his face.
"H-Hai sir." answered Yota sadly, not entirely acting as despite the turn his life had taken the loss of his clan was still affecting him.
"We wound up losing everything, so we figured leaving and coming to one of the big ninja villages would be the best thing for us. Both of our parents used to be ninjas before t-they...died. So it should be alright." Said Naruto as he sadly took off his hood revealing his blood red hair, his demon illusion still perfectly disguising his Hanyou features.
"Ah….I see." the guard said sadly as he pieced together what must have happened. "Listen if you two are going to live here in the village then you'll have to go to the Third Floor of the Raikage Tower, that's where all orphans and children looking to live in Kumogakure are sent for registration. I'll have my partner take you there, you'll be able to register for the Genin Exam." he said kindly before waving over to the other shinobi who was standing guard, after a brief chat with his partner the second guard motioned for them to follow him.
The walk to the Raikage Tower was a silent one, which was fine because both Naruto and Yota couldn't help themselves but to gap at everything that they were seeing as they made their way through the village. They knew thanks to the long trek up the mountain side to the gate that they were high up, and after making their way past the gate they were simply blown away by what they were seeing. Besides the ground level of the village which looked fairly similar to what they had seen of the buildings and homes of Konoha, there were countless buildings that were built directly into the mountains surrounding the village.
With large circular buildings nestled at the very peaks looking like massive metal dumplings on skewer sticks, what surprised Naruto and Yota even more were the various bridges and catwalks that connected all of the different levels together. From what the two of them could see there were ten different levels to the village including the Ground Level that they were at, as the two children looked on they could see that there were stairs carved into the mountain side that allowed people to go up and down levels. Something that Naruto and Yota also noticed were what looked to be large elevators spaced out at even intervals all over the village, so that way people could travel up and down to whatever level they wished to go. And nestled in between the mountains were large numbers of houses, buildings, training grounds, fountains, and many other things that neither of the two boys had ever seen before.
"Hey you two, I'm gonna need ya to snap out of it." came a gruff voice that caught the attention of the both of them, looking over Naruto and Yota saw the Chunin who was escorting them looking at them. Nodding sheepishly they both gave a 'sorry' before continuing to follow him through the village, going through the village it took them roughly twenty minutes of walking to get to where they were going. When they did finally arrive they were standing in front of a large building that was carved into the base of one of the mountains, looking up Naruto and Yota saw how at the very peak sat the largest of the circular buildings. Looking at it closer from where they were standing it seemed almost as if parts of the mountain were coming up to encircle the bottom half of the building, almost like a hand holding a ball. Seeing that they were about to fall behind again the two of them quickly caught back up to the Chunin, walking into the building they headed to a help desk.
"So what exactly is this place?" asked Naruto as they walked.
"This entire mountain is hollowed out to function as the primary executive building for a lot of the day to day functions of the village, built into a mountain means that it has a lot of natural protection in case of an invasion or an attack." answered the Chunin. "By the way I'm C, since we might be working together in the future, I might as well tell you two my name."
"Right, I'm Naruto and this is Yota." Naruto replied by introducing them to the blonde Chunin. "Ummmm, I noticed all of those huge balls at the tops of the mountains, what are those for? Did someone have a craving for dango when they were designing the place of something?" the young Hanyou asked curiously, causing C to laugh for a few seconds.
"Those are all important areas that normally only shinobi are allowed access to, such as those on the village council, the Raikage, our ANBU, etc. The uhhhh, big ball at the top of this mountain is actually the Raikage Tower." informed the Chunin as they stopped in front of a help desk where they saw a man busily going through what looked like a literal mountain of paperwork.
"Excuse me." C said to the clerk. "Which floor is it for new children who are looking to live in Kumo?"
"Well that depends, normally all unaccompanied children go straight to the orphanage and are processed there. Why would….ohhhhh, wait, is one of them shinobi trained?" the clerk asked as he looked over to the two boys.
"Yep, the oldest for sure based on what he said. Don't know how much training either of them have gone through though, we need to register them here so that way we can have someone put the older one through some tests to see how good he is." answered C.
"Okay, well then you'll want to send them to floor 63. The entire floor is set aside just for such things and if memory serves the help desk up there is right in front of the elevator doors as they open." the clerk responded before going back to whatever paperwork he was doing, with that C led Naruto and Yota over to the main elevator.
"You two catch all of that?" asked the Chunin looking at them, when he got a nod from the both of them he pushed a button to call down the elevator, when it opened up he ushered them both in and pushed the button for floor 63. "Just wait till you get to where you're going and ask for help from whoever is at the help desk, I gotta get going so I'll leave you here in their hands. Welcome to Kumo." he said just as the doors opened up.
"Well, this is going better than I thought it would." said Naruto, pleased with himself as he looked at all of the buttons, searching for one in particular.
"What do you mean Nii-san?" asked Yota confusedly, before Naruto went 'Aha!' and then pressed a particular button for the very top floor of the mountain. "Nii-san! Wh-What are you doing?!" Yota then asked worriedly as he saw what Naruto had done, and then watched as Naruto dropped his henge allowing his ears, horns and tail to now be visible.
"Easy, we're going to go straight to the Raikage!" Naruto said with a grin as he did a hand sign, a moment later Kurama appeared next to them.
"Don't worry Yota, we know what we're doing. Besides, given our situation this is the best way to handle things. So don't worry, nothing bad is going to happen." Kurama said with a sweet smile as she patted Yota's head gently, as the door opened to floor 63 Naruto briefly popped his head out to look around. Spotting a dark skinned woman with beautiful white hair who was standing by the help desk waiting for something, Naruto cleared his throat to get her attention. Turning around the woman's shock and surprise showed in her face when her eyes widened and she arched an eyebrow.
"Excuse me Miss, but do you know if the Raikage is in?" asked Naruto politely, getting a slow nod from the woman Naruto's ears twitched happily. "Thanks!" he chirped as the doors closed before the woman could say anything, standing there for a full minute attempting to process what she had just seen the woman then came to her senses.
"I must inform Raikage-sama." she said seriously to herself as she put her stack of papers down and then headed for one of the service stairs, seeing all of the flights of stairs she cursed to herself as she used chakra to run up the rails.
With Naruto
As the doors to the elevator opened up Naruto instantly knew he was in the right place, everywhere he looked it was simply pristine. Everything looked like this was where you would go to do business if you were someone very rich or important, seeing that no one was around, Naruto picked a direction and started walking. It didn't take long for the three of them to find a large unoccupied desk located off to the side of some very expensive doors, taking a guess Naruto walked up to the double doors and banged really hardon them.
"Unless you've got a death wish or an appointment fuck off!" came an angry gruff reply from the otherside of the door. Hearing this brought a smile to Naruto's face as he slowly backed away from the door.
"Naruto-kun…..what are you-" before Kurama could even finish the question Naruto lunged forward with a power house kick, and sent both doors flying off of their hinges and into the office of the Raikage. Straightening himself out Naruto then promptly walked in followed by a sweat dropping Kurama and Yota.
"Whaaaazzzzaaaaaaaaapp?!" Naruto hollered out as he walked into the Raikage's office, only to then scream in pain as a massive black hand covered in lightning grabbed ahold of his face and squeezed.
"Who the Hell are you and why should I care?!" roared the Raikage, as he glared at the still screaming Naruto. "And how dare you break down my door!" he yelled as he took a second look at the damage Naruto had caused, though he did momentarily pause when he took in the sight of Kurama and Yota who were standing in the doorway with sweat drops on their foreheads. Powering down his jutsu the lightning that was covering him like a shroud quickly dissipated, as the room soon returned to normal Ay let go of Naruto's face causing the now smoking Hanyou to fall to the floor with a dazed expression.
"Greetings Raikage-sama." Kurama said humbly as she gave a low bow, prompting Yota to quickly do the same thing.
"G-G-Greatings R-Raik-kage-sama." stuttered Yota as he tried to get over the shock at seeing the large man covered in lightning.
"Mmmmpf!" came the muffled scream of Naruto, who was now turning a beautiful shade of blue. Quickly letting go of the young Hanyou the Ay took a good look at the gasping boy in front of him, becoming uncharacteristically quiet as he observed Naruto recover. Without a word the large man stalked over to his desk and started fishing around in one of its drawers, finding what he was looking for he pulled out a large mason jar of some clear liquid. After taking off the lid and drinking most of the jar's contents, the Raikage let out a very satisfied sigh before sitting down at his desk.
"Have a seat." said Ay, though it was clearly an order and not a request. After all three of the intruders were seated he spoke. "What business does the Kyuubi, the only known Hanyou in the world, and a young boy have waltzing around in my village? Let alone coming to my office?" he asked pointedly, gaining surprised looks from everyone in the room.
"Well Raikage-sama, you see-" Kurama began only to be interrupted by a crash as someone barged into the room.
"Raikage-sama! Intruders!" yelled a voice as the same beautiful dark skinned woman they had seen on one of the lower floors bolted into the room. Coming to a halt the woman quickly took stock of the room.
"Ya don't say?" came the Raikage's dry response as he quirked an eyebrow up at his blushing secretary. "Might as well take a seat Mabui, you haven't missed anything and we're about to find out why they're here."
"H-Hai Raikage-sama." Mabui said as she smoothed out her skirt and quickly took a seat off to the side of the Raikage.
"You were saying?"
"We're here to join your village." came Naruto's blunt statement, causing Ay to raise an eyebrow.
"Oh? And why would you want to do that? Last I checked, you had two guardians who were very keen on taking care of you. And besides, why would you want to move to one of the villages that helped destroy your clan?" replied the Raikage as he stared down the young Hanyou, who to his masked approval was meeting his gaze evenly. "Gaki's got spunk I'll give him that." he thought to himself.
"Because for starters me and Yota want to rebuild our clans, and Kumo is the best place for us to do that." answered Naruto a faint blush on his cheeks which he quickly fought down while indicating towards the boy sitting next to him. "The destruction of my clan was a long time ago when you were still younger than me, and as far as I can see none of the other villages are suitable."
"Is that so?" Ay asked curiously, knowing full well the bloody history that existed between his village and the Uzumaki Clan.
"Hai, none of the other villages will do. Iwa would simply kill me on sight for being my father's son, Suna is too close to Konoha for my liking, and Kiri is in the middle of a civil war. We need a place that is stable."
"And what about Konoha?" Ay remarked.
"After everything that's happened do you really have to ask?" replied Kurama as Naruto went quiet, his large ears lowered.
"No….I suppose not." Ay responded, silently kicking himself before pressing on. "And just what clan does Yota hail from?" he asked looking over to Yota who took this as his moment to speak.
"I'm f-from the Bofu Clan, R-Raikage-sama." answered a nervous Yota, this caused both of Ay's and Mabui's eyebrows to shoot up in visible surprise.
"I had heard reports of your clan's demise, we had been trying to track the one's responsible for some time." Ay replied, a rare look of genuine sympathy for the boy showing on his face. "But by the time we had caught up to them, they had already set sail and were too far out to sea for any of my men to follow…..I'm sorry for your loss".
"A-Arigato Raikage-sama." sniffled Yota.
"Alright, I can understand why you would both seek to rebuild your respective clans here in Kumo, but that still doesn't explain the other reasons for you being here." said Ay as he looked Naruto and Kurama in the eyes.
"How did you even get out of the seal to begin with?" Ay asked, looking pointedly at Kurama.
"Shinigami-sama freed her." answered Naruto.
"Haha, very funny-" the Raikage began.
"No, I'm actually serious about this Raikage-sama." interrupted Naruto, getting a funny look from Ay, Naruto was about to continue when Kurama placed her hand over his to get his attention.
"Naruto-kun, perhaps we should just start from the very beginning?" Kurama offered gaining a sheepish look from the young Hanyou.
"You're right Kyu-chan." Naruto responded as he turned back to face the Raikage. "Raikage-sama, this will take a while to tell so you may want to brace yourself."
"Duly noted, Mabui please go clear my schedule for the day and then come back here to take notes." said Ay prompting Mabui to get up and give a short bow before leaving. As she left, Ay quietly fished out a few more large mason jars of the same clear alcohol. Mabui came back a moment later, a disapproving look on her face when she saw the mason jars on the Raikage's desk. Saying nothing she quickly took her seat.
From there on Naruto and Kurama would tell the two of them, as well as Yota who still didnt know everything, what they had gone through since Naruto's fifth birthday. Though they made sure to not go into detail as to everything that happened that night for Yota's sake, they essentially spilled the beans on everything else. For several hours they told the Raikage and Mabui what had happened, Naruto's upbringing and being raised and trained by Kakuzu and Hitome, the Akatsuki, his tutelage under Pai Mei though he didn't mention the Tengu Demons, and killing Fugaku. Naruto even told Ay of his most recent trip to Konoha and most of the things that had happened while he was there. By the time they had finished it was now night time, they had already taken a break to eat on account of Yota and it was after 10 pm. Yota was now asleep on a nearby couch, his head resting on Mabui's lap as she drank out of one of the mason jars that Ay had given her. Who knew the Raikage liked to brew his own liquor?
"That is either the single greatest lie that I have ever been told in my life…..or you're telling me the truth." Ay concluded after spending several minutes mulling over everything that he had just been told. "The fact that you were able to show me these scrolls of the Rikudo Sennin and his brother is nothing short of marvelous, here in Kumo we have dozens of his writings as well as the artefacts that he left behind. So I can at least confirm that the handwriting that is on those scrolls was done by the Sage himself." Ay concluded, which surprised Naruto and Kurama. "What? It is required of every shinobi in Kumogakure who is a potential replacement for Raikage, to be well versed in Kumo's history as well as everything that has to do with the Sage of Six Paths."
"Now…" said Ay as he focussed on the two of them. "Before we go any farther young man I want you to tell me just….why I shouldn't simply send every single shinobi I have to invade Ame. Why shouldn't I just cut the head off of the snake now, before its ready to strike?"
"Because if you attack now, you'll never catch them." Naruto answered simply.
"Explain."
"They have been preparing for this since before the end of the Third Shinobi War, I've gotten to see some of their infrastructure, and almost none of it is in Ame." said Naruto as he straightened up in his seat. "They have dozens of bases all over the continent in almost every single country, as well as overseas in places like Demon or Marsh Country. You will never find where they hide their funds or their equipment, they made damn sure that all of the funds, equipment and resources that Ame generates are separate from what the Akatsuki acquires."
"Let me guess, that way nothing they do gets traced back to Ame, correct?" asked the Raikage, his mind racing as he thought over the implications.
"Hai Raikage-sama, this also means that any invasion committed against them without any proof of their wrongdoing ensures they look innocent, and you the unprovoked aggressor. Add onto that the fact that they also have an alliance with all of the surrounding Minor Countries, as well as Earth Country, and it would spell trouble for the invaders." answered Kurama.
"Even if you were able to sack Ame, they have it set up so that way everyone still thinks that Hanzo is running Ame, and they will make it look like you murdered him if they have to." chimed in Naruto. "I may not know everything that they have set up in place, but I do know that they will be able to disappear without a trace in all of the confusion. And whenever they do strike it will be on their terms when you aren't expecting it."
"Hmmmm, sounds to me like the best way to deal with them would be to allow them to live. At least for the time being." said Maibui from her spot on the couch, as she absentmindedly stroked the sleeping Yota's head. "At least by not acting we know where they are, and we'll have a pretty good idea of what they're going to be doing for quite some time."
"You're correct Mabui-ch-san." replied Ay,correcting himself near the end. Though if one were paying attention, they would have seen a ghost of a smile tug at the corners of Mabui's lips in amusement.
"They're nowhere near ready to strike, and as long as that's the case it gives us time to prepare. I do not intend to let any of them escape once the fighting starts, I want this to be dealt with once and for all otherwise we'll be looking over our shoulders waiting for S Rank criminals to attack us." the Raikage stated, a steel edge in his voice near the end. "By the way, what do those two that you claim you managed to convince to help you plan to be doing in all of this. They were the ones that we saw in Konoha the other year were they not?"
"Yes, Kakuzu and Hitome." answered Naruto. "The two of them were recruited early on for their own reasons, and they are the primary duo that are sent out to complete contracts and missions."
"They also spend large amounts of time bounty hunting, in fact, they taught Naruto almost everything he knows." Kurama chimed in. "The skills he learned from them were what allowed him to defeat and kill Fugaku Uchiha."
"Really?" asked Ay suddenly, becoming highly interested. "Even in his weakened state he was still easily an S Rank shinobi, and you were able to kill him?" he asked, gaining a steady nod from the young Hanyou. "And these two teachers of yours…..they were the ones who saved you that night, weren't they?" Ay asked softly, his suspicions being confirmed by both demons nodding their heads.
"Could you tell us a little more about them?" asked Mabui from her spot on the couch.
"Sure, for starters there's Hitome. She's a priestess of Jashin, the King of Hell, and God of Vengeance, Murder and Genocide. Due to her religion as well as what I think is a highly forbidden jutsu that can only be performed by a chosen believer, she is basically immortal." stated Naruto, gaining a not so surprised look from Ay and Mabui.
"Figured as much." muttered Ay.
"I thought that they were all wiped out though." stated Mabui.
"No, and their order is running stronger than ever." replied Naruto, causing a worried glance to be shared between the Raikage and Mabui.
"What of the other one?" asked the Raikage.
"Kakuzu-sensei, he's the one who was able to give me the Jiongu which saved me." answered Naruto.
"Those black threads?" interrupted Ay, not being able to help himself.
"Hai, just consider it an Uzumaki Clan secret. It'll take way too long to explain what it actually is, and even if I did you simply wouldn't believe me." replied Naruto. "However, the Jiongu is how Kakuzu has been able to live as long as he has. He's the assassin who fought the First Hokage and lived, he's actually in his seventies, but if you ever saw him without his mask on then you would think he was in his late thirties."
"How is that possible?" asked a shocked Mabui.
"He can use the Jiongu to rip the hearts out of other people along with other organs that get damaged in order to prolong his life indefinitely." said Naruto, his answer gaining shocked looks from Mabui and a grim one from Ay.
"And now not only can you do all of that, but that little girl….Hinata Hyuuga...will be capable of the same things as well?" asked Ay.
"Hai." answered Naruto. "But Kakuzu only obtained the Jiongu after he had fought with Hashirama, after he found out his village had betrayed him."
"Hold on a minute, something isn't adding up." stated Ay, his eyes narrowing a little. "None of this explains why a man like that would ever consider helping you, I get Hitome as I remember the Jashinists I dealt with in the past being quite zealous. But for Kakuzu, there had to be something."
"Well, after a while with the First Shinobi War going on he decided to go ahead and leave the continent for a while till things cooled down." Naruto began. "Long story short is he was there fighting with my clansmen when Uzu fell, and he punished Kiri and Kumo by killing their respective kages." he explained, gaining surprised but somber looks of understanding from Ay and Mabui.
"So he's the one I have to thank for my Grandpa taking the seat." Ay muttered as he started to put things together in his head. "I remember reading reports when I was younger, of Konoha making use of a highly skilled freelance shinobi during the war…...we were never able to confirm the shinobi's identity."
"That was him, Raikage-sama." Kurama confirmed.
"So….just so I have this straight." The Raikage started. "I am to allow you three into my village, knowing that you essentially work for arguably the most dangerous terrorist organization the world has ever seen. And, I'm to make you one of my shinobi, let you grow stronger, while doing nothing about this grave threat that's planning to hunt down my brother and the other Jinchuriki. All so that way you can possibly persuade your lunatic cousin into not taking over the world…..is that about right?" he asked, causing all but Yota who was still asleep to sweatdrop.
"W-W-Well when you put it like that…." Naruto said, scratching his head sheepishly.
"Hmpf, fine. Welcome to Kumo." Ay stated bluntly, before taking a long swig from another mason jar that he got from….somewhere.
"Nani?! Just like that?!" Mabui exclaimed in a hushed tone, trying not to wake Yota.
"Do you have a better alternative?" was Ay's simple reply.
"N-No….." Mabui responded as she tried to think of a better plan and found that there weren't many better alternatives to choose from.
"At least this way I can keep my eye on the three of them, and when the time comes to go to war with the Akatsuki we won't be wondering just what their agenda or their end game is. We'll actually be able to go into this with something resembling a plan, instead of 'kill the other guys till they die from it, and hope for the best'." the Raikage stated.
"Thankyou Raikage-sama." was Kurama's happy reply, as she gave a small bow from her seat.
"Yeah, thanks a lot-" Naruto started to say.
"I wouldn't celebrate too soon, young man." Ay interrupted. "There is still the matter of your lodging, as well as the fact that you're going to be put into the CRA. Which will require you to have a minimum of 3 wives, however due to your special status, you most likely will be required to have at least 5 wives."
"Y-Yeah…...about that…." Naruto said, blushing furiously as he was reminded of a certain conversation he had to endure some time ago. Looking over he noticed that Kurama was not doing any better, as her cheeks were the same color of her tails.
"What? What is it?" pressed the Raikage, his eyes darting back and forth between the two furiously blushing demons.
"We're technically…...*gulp*...already engaged." Naruto managed to get out despite his obvious embarrassment.
"Lets just say Raikage-sama that…." Kurama began, trying to find the right words despite her embarrassment. "...we were made aware of something that has to do with our demonic physiology."
"Someone warned us that our….mating seasons were going to...sink up in a few years." Naruto finished, his face as red as his ears as he tried to look anywhere but at the beautiful demoness at his side.
"..." the Raikage blinked.
"..." the Raikage blinked again.
"...Sooooo, someone told you what was going to be happening to your own bodies?" asked an incredulous Raikage. "This person must be one Hell of an expert on the subject then." he remarked with no small amount of sarcasm.
"Raikage-sama I know how this sounds." Naruto began. "But we wouldn't be mentioning this if we didn't believe the source."
"Very well." the Raikage said at length. "Proceed."
"I myself used to have to deal with this over the years, normally I'd just crawl into a cave and wait for it to pass." explained Kurama, nearly mumbling near the end.
"But?" inquired Ay.
"I've been sealed up in one human or another since the time of Hashirama-baka, so my cycles sort of just turned off." Kurama explained with a blush, gaining a sympathetic look from Mabui who herself, would be mortified for having to explain such a thing.
"But now that's not the case is it?" questioned the Raikage, gaining a nod from the flustered demoness.
"Apparently hers is supposed to kick back into full swing at the same time mine starts." stated a miserable Naruto, who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there at that moment.
"Just for reference, just when is all of this supposed to go down and should we be worried?" asked a concerned if not slightly embarrassed Mabui.
"It'll be happening when I turn 18, and as long as we're outside of Kumo there won't be any problems for you to worry about." answered Naruto.
"Problems?" asked Ay.
"Pheromones." answered Naruto.
"I don't see how-" began Mabui.
"Demonically enhanced pheromones, spread out over roughly a 5 mile radius, that will cause every single hot blooded creature and person to be driven into a frenzy. And this will happen every 4 years." was Naruto's prompt reply, not even waiting for Mabui to finish.
"Duly noted." the Raikage remarked, as he massaged his temples. "I'm not even going to bother asking more on the subject, just make sure you two kids take the necessary precautions."
"H-Hai Raikage-sama." muttered a blushing Kurama and Naruto.
"Now in the time being we need to get you some temporary lodging. I'll put the three of you up in a hotel for a few days while we get the paperwork situated. I have a meeting with Kumogakure's council tomorrow anyway, so be back here at 1600." stated Ay, before he took out a file from his desk and started writing. After several minutes he looked it over, with a grunt he handed it to Kurama.
"Give that to the concierge front desk when you get to the hotel, you'll be staying at the Olympus till we can get this sorted out." stated Ay before he looked over to Mabui. "Would you mind showing them the way?"
"Hai Raikage-sama, if you two would follow me." answered Mabui as she gently got up from the couch, scooping up the sleeping Yota in her arms she then left the office with Naruto and Kurama in tow. It didn't take them very long to reach their destination seeing how the hotel in question was meant for the truly wealthy and special VIPs, making the hotel only a short walk from the Raikage's Tower.
After checking into their suite for the night, Naruto and Kurama quickly changed into their sleep wear before climbing into bed. After getting situated Kurama wound up with Yota and Naruto snuggling up next to her from either side, wrapping her arms around their smaller shoulders she brought them in as close as she could.
"What do you think is going to happen tomorrow?" Kurama asked at length, as the three of them lay there in the dark.
"I don't know." Naruto quietly admitted. "We've been planning for this for so long and now that we're finally going through with it…...I just don't know anymore."
"It'll all work out…" reassured Kurama.
"...it has to." murmured Naruto as he slowly dozed off, prompting Kurama to give the young Hanyou a comforting squeeze before sleep overtook her.
The next day
The three of them sat in front of the Raikage's desk staring at the large man as he quickly read through and signed several documents, none of them willing to say a word as they waited for him to finish whatever he was going over. After several more moments it seemed he had finished as he then looked up.
"In case you were wondering, the meeting with the council went about as smoothly as you would expect it." the Raikage commented dryly as he sipped some much needed coffee.
"S-S-So what happened? Do we get to stay here?" asked a worried Yota, gaining a rare but soft smile from Ay.
"Yes little one, the three of you can live here in Kumo." answered Ay, causing the three of them to all visibly relax and looked relieved.
"Now Naruto, you are going to be inducted into our shinobi corps effective immediately. After a suitable test has been conducted of your skills and knowledge we'll have some sort of an idea as to what rank to grant you, and after some time if you're up for it and are good enough you can join our ANBU ranks. I have a feeling that you'll particularly enjoy working in our Hunter Division." said the Raikage.
"T-That's great!" Naruto was flabbergasted and thrilled to hear the news.
"And as for you young man." said Ay as he turned his gaze to Yota. "You will be enrolled into the most recent class of our Academy, where you will be able to grow up around children your own age, and maybe make some friends and enjoy yourself. And when the time is right join our ranks as a Kumo Shinobi."
"Yayyyyyyy! I get to be a ninja!" cheered an excited Yota, who was practically bouncing in his seat.
"Thankyou Raikage-sama." said Kurama, a genuine smile on her face.
"Think nothing of it." responded Ay as he took another sip from his coffee. "Now Naruto, your test will be held tomorrow morning at 9 am. That should give you plenty of time to drop Yota off at the Academy." he stated as he handed Naruto a stack of files and pamphlets.
"Hai, we'll make sure to be on time Raikage-sama." responded Naruto as he took the files. "Ummmm, what are all of these for?"
"Those are lists and info of contractors that we have here in Lightning Country, that you can go through for having your Clan Compound designed and built. And on top is a basic map of Kumo with several buildings highlighted, all of which you will need to go to within the next week as you get situated here in the village." answered the Raikage.
"Thankyou Raikage-sama, quick question though." stated Naruto. "Who is it that's going to be testing me tomorrow?"
"Hehehe, you'll see." the Raikage responded, smirking all the while. "He's the best swordsman in Lightning Country, as well as one of the resident Jinchuriki here in the village. He is also the one that you will be training under the most, as well as working with the most along with our other Jinchuriki. You'll meet them both tomorrow."
"Really?!" exclaimed Naruto and Kurama, both wanting to meet them now that much more.
"Hai, as I understand it this will be a bit of a family reunion for you Kurama." answered the Raikage before looking over to the demoness. "I'm sure you'll want to catch up with your siblings, I just ask that you try to save it for after the test."
"Hai, Raikage-sama." answered a very happy Kurama.
"Well if there is nothing else you're free to do whatever you want till tomorrow, we should have a suitable apartment set up for you three within the week. But I would strongly suggest that you get cracking on your Clan Compound soon, if what you told me yesterday was anything to go by then you're going to want one already built." stated Ay as Naruto, Kurama, and Yota got up from their seats.
"You can bet I'll be working on that, I've already got a few ideas for what I want the compound to have!" boasted Naruto, his chest swelling up with pride.
"Naruto, having a moat filled with sharks with laser beams attached to their heads is not an idea, its just stupid." responded Kurama with a smirk, causing Naruto to visibly deflate as a small cloud of misery began to form over his head.
"Besides, having a moat of hot lava is way cooler." Kurama said airily, causing Yota to start laughing as Naruto seemed to sulk even more as the three of them left the Raikage's office.
"Raikage-sama." said Mabui, gaining Ay's attention. "What will we do with the information that he gave us regarding Orochimaru?"
"We'll begin replicating some of the techniques and jutsus that were in those notes, while making sure to classify the most repugnant ones as Forbidden Under Pain of Death. Can't have our Jonin and Anbu trying to recreate the Mushi Tensei.'' the Raikage stated, shuddering at the end, an act that was shared by Mabui at the thought of that particular jutsu. "But for others like that Body Replacement Jutsu that the snake came up with, I want that to be made a jutsu that all Anbu are required to learn. Also, I want research into the Casualty Puppet Jutsu to commence, see if there is a way to get rid of the drawbacks to the user's mind. Otherwise it's as blacklisted as the others."
"Hai, Raikage-sama. Might I suggest that we begin replicating and if possible, making modifications to the designs of the shuriken launchers? Though I would suggest that we keep those out of the hands of anyone who has not at least been a Chunnin for one year." Mabui offered.
"Yes, go ahead and contact the head of R&D as well as the Anbu and Jonin Commanders, and have them swing by." answered Ay as he went back to signing various documents.
"Hai Raikage-sama." answered Mabui as she got up and left.
The next morning, 8:30 am.
"Hai Kurama-chan, I'll be good." answered a giddy Yota, who was trying his level best not to jump right out of his sandals with how excited he was.
"Good, we'll be here to pick you up when school is over so until then have fun Yota-kun." said Kurama as she leaned down to plant a small kiss on Yota's forehead.
"Hai Kura-chan, I will. Well I'll see you both later, gotta go!" Yota replied happily as he ran off towards the academy, heading inside Yota looked at the paper he had been given that stated which class he had been assigned to. After asking one of the teachers for directions he made his way to the classroom he would be in for the next several years, after handing the note to the teacher he was given a seat next to some students.
"H-Hai, my name's Yota what's yours?" he asked wanting to introduce himself.
"I'm Omoi, this is Karui and Samui." responded the dark skinned boy with a lolipop in his mouth, while gesturing to the dark skinned and pale skinned girls that were sitting next to him.
With Naruto and Kurama, 33 minutes later
Both of the demons were sweatdropping profusely as they watched the Raikage chase around a dark skinned man with several swords strapped to his back, what would cause this one might ask? The simpe fact that the man wouldn't stop rapping, they hadn't even been there for 5 minutes and already things had gone south.
"Iron Claw!" roared Ay, as he grabbed his younger brother's face and squeezed causing said brother to scream.
"I'm sorry you two have to deal with this so early in the morning." stated a young girl around Naruto's age. The girl in question had fair skin, long blonde hair done in a ponytail, and had a look like she wanted to be anywhere but there at that moment.
"This is pretty normal for them isn't it Yugito-san?" asked Naruto with a sweat drop.
"Yep." replied Yugito, who winced as she watched Ay give a lightning enhanced kick to Killer Bee's ass effectively punting him through the air only to land right in front of them.
"So…..where do we start?" asked Naruto as Killer Bee groaned.
And done! Hope you all enjoyed the chapter, I would have had this one out sooner but been busy with getting my first house which I'm close to moving into so that has me pretty excited. Anyways the next chapter is going to be a big one as it will take place several years later when Naruto is a 17 year old Jonin, who will be taking on his first actual Gennin Team. This chapter will be perfectly in line with the original timeline for the Original Series, and will lead from there to the Wave Arc. Everything will have been caught up now, and from there the story is really going to take off. You'll also get to see what it is like for Sasuke Uchiha in the village as well as what is left of his clan, you'll also see a bunch of differences with other characters such as Kiba Inuzuka, Hinata Hyuga, as well as several others. Remember in one of the earlier chapters there was a massive overhaul done to the Konoha Academy, this means that by the time kids graduate they will have learned certain things that they would have never known in the Original Series. This means that pretty much everyone in the Konoha Eleven is going to have moves that you never saw before, as well as all around be more advanced. I've been waiting a long time to get to this part in the story, this next chapter is something that I've been subtly preparing for throughout the previous chapters and I can't wait to take this story to the next level.
