Omega watched from the side lines as Crosshair sparred with his latest student.

Unlike the rest of her brothers, Crosshair didn't work for Cid. Instead, he was a personal trainer that taught at their local gym. Wrecker joked that he only took the job because he liked to boss people around. But as Omega watched him teach the students, she could tell that he did truly want for them to be the best versions of themselves. Even if yeah, he did appear to enjoy bossing them around.

The rest of her brothers had been called in last minute by Cid to assist her in evicting one of her tenants, who hadn't paid their rent in over a month. Apparently, the tenant had also turned the attic of their flat into some sort of green house, although her brothers wouldn't tell her exactly what sort of plants they had been growing. The presence of her brothers had finally convinced them to leave, although not before they had trashed the place, so now Cid and her brothers had to fix everything up along with cleaning out the aforementioned greenhouse.

With nobody else to look after her, as a one off emergency, the gym owner's had let Omega stay with Crosshair whilst he worked, as long as he promised to keep her in his sights, something her bother had taken very seriously. Omega had enjoyed her time at the gym so far. Mostly, it had been spent watching her olde brother wipe the floor with the ego inflated gym buffs he taught, but she had also had fun bouncing on the large balls they had or attempting cartwheels on the floor mats, Currently, Omega was sat on one of the large bouncy balls as Crosshair's most recent trainee pick themselves off the mats covering one side of the gym.

"Thanks for the workout." The poor guy said, wiping sweat from his flops of blonde hair before it could trail into the beginning of his muttonchops.

"No problem. Work on your katas for next week." Crosshair told him, already packing away some of the weights they had used, never one to waste time. The man nodded, before walking towards the showers with a wave of goodbye to the pair. Omega waved back, when she noticed that Crosshair hadn't set out any new equipment like he had for his previous appointments.

"What are you doing? Are you going to get set up for your next student?" She asked.

"My next appointment had to cancel. So instead, I am going to use this time to teach you some self defence." Crosshair stated, straight to the point as always. That was one thing Omega appreciated about her brother. She wasn't stupid. She knew that the others, especially Hunter would try to mince their words around her. But she appreciated that Crosshair would never say more than necessary, he words always truthful and straight to the point.

"Cool!" Omega cried, jumping up. "What are you going to teach me first? How to punch? Or do a karate kick!"

Omega re-enacted some of the movies from the martial arts film Hunter had made them watch last night. But Crosshair shock his head.

"Before you can learn to punch, you need to know how to block." He told her.

Slightly disappointed but still eager to learn, Omega nodded before joining him on the mat. Carefully, he manoeuvred her arms if she wanted to block an attacker, before having her repeat the motions herself. In slow motion and with a gloved hand, Crosshair would aim a soft punch for her to block. Again, having her repeat it, until she could block him seamlessly.

After another few dozen rounds of block stances Omega was getting bored.

"Why do I need to learn any of this anyway?" She wined, now easily blocking her older brother's weak attack.

"So that you are never afraid to use these moves on anyone who didn't take no for an answer."

"Even Mother?" Omega asked, glancing away, her voice quieter than she had expected. When his next attack never came, she looked back up at Crosshair to find his eyes narrowed into slits.

"Especially on Mother." He hissed, his words as cold as ice. Then he placed his hands on her shoulders making sure that she was looking at him straight in the eyes.

"Remember, this is only as a last resort. I will always be there to protect you. And so will our brothers."

Omega smiled up at him, because she knew that her brother meant every word.

"I know."

Crosshair smiled back. One of his rare smiles that wasn't just a smirk in disguise. It only made Omega grin even harder.

"I've still got half an hour until my next appointment." Crosshair said. "I might be able to teach you how to throw a punch before then."

Omega jumped up and down in glee.

Later on, after all of her brothers were done with work and back at the house, Omega stood poised in their small patch of cushioning overgrown grass in their front yard. Crosshair stood opposite her, in a similar stance.

"Kick his ass Omega!" Wrecker hollered besides the others on their porch steps. Omega grinned with determination as Hunter and Echo chastised their brother for swearing in her presence. She turned her attention back to Crosshair, his trademark smirk fresh on his face.

Tech cut through his brothers scolds with a blow on his whistle.

In an instant Crosshair darted towards her, his fist outstretched, Omega, now grateful for his persistence in perfection, easily blocked his blow. As soon as she deflected the punch, she returned her own, hitting him in the exact spot Crosshair had taught her to aim for, in the kidneys. Even though it was barely a fight and both of them knew that the other was holding way back, Crosshair clutched the side of his stomach dramatically before collapsing on to the soft grass.

"Oh no, you got me." Crosshair said in his unusual monotone hiss. This only made Omega burst out laughing.

"Wahoo! Omega is the winner!" Wrecker cried rushing over the pair. He picked Omega up spinning her over his head. Laughing even harder, Omega glanced back down at Crosshair. Even as Hunter helped him to his feet, she had never seen Crosshair look so proud of her.
