The Ultimate Detective and The Ultimate Hope Gaiden: Enter the Princess of Hope's Peak Academy!

Chapter Three: The First Supper!

Kiki and Shuichi sat at the now full table, their classmates and teachers having filed in already and taken their seats. The only exception was Kirumi, who had yet to deliver the main courses to the table.

It's amazing how many of my teachers I knew since I was a little girl… Kiki thought as she saw several familiar faces, including Hina, Hiro, Toko, Hajime, and Komaru.

Her parents sat at the head of the table, a familiar and relaxing sight for the teenage girl as her nervous tension dipped somewhat.

At last, Kirumi and the kitchen staff brought out the delectable cuisine, placing them on the table before the young maid took her rightful place at the table among her peers.

Makoto smiled and cleared his throat before he announced "Alright, before we all dig in, why don't we start with some introductions? Vice-Headmistress Naegi and I have already introduced ourselves during the ceremony, so why don't we start with the teachers before moving on with the student body?"

Seeing everyone nod, Hina smiled and cleared her throat as she wordlessly volunteered to start.

"Hey there! I'm Aoi Togami, but you can call me Coach Hina! I look forward to having each and every one of you in my gym class, but don't expect me to go easy on you. Trust me, you're gonna earn your gold medals!"

Yep, that's Aunt Hina for you… Kiki thought as everyone sweatdropped.

After Hina smiled bashfully and sat back down, Hiro grinned and greeted cheerfully "Yo! I'm Yasuhiro Hagakure, but you can all call me Mr. Hiro. I supervise the school theatre club, and we make a lot of awesome plays, so come check us out! And if you have the drama bug yourself, please feel free to audition! We'll find a place for you, promise!"

As everyone relaxed at Hiro's laid-back aura, Toko coughed into her fist and began "I'm Toko Hagakure…but I expect you to refer to me as Hagakure-sensei. Just follow the rules and we'll get along. Oh, and don't bring in anything that'll make me sneeze. Let's just say you wouldn't like me after I've sneezed."

Yeah, we probably wouldn't, though Aunt Jill can be kinda entertaining when you get to know her… Kiki admitted as Miu addressed her students next.

"Alright, consider yourselves lucky, for you have the awesome privilege of being taught by the gorgeous girl genius, Miu Iruma! Though you'd better call me Iruma-sensei, am I clear?!"

Everyone nodded as a woman with stylish blue, black, pink, and white hair grinned excitedly at her new pupils. At the same time, a portly man stared seriously at the bunch of them, as if analyzing the crop presented to them.

"I, Buki, Mio, Da! Put it together and what do you get? Ibuki Mioda! Nice to meet you all! My husband Porkfeet and I are gonna be teaching some of you in music, so I hope you're ready to learn how to totally rock out your creative sides!"

As the others sweatdropped, Porkfeet sighed before telling his pupils seriously "For those of you who are curious, no, Porkfeet isn't my real name, though it is the name I go by. Just refer to us as Ibuki-sensei and Porkfeet-sensei respectively."

That's honestly gonna cause some giggles while we get used to it… Kiki predicted as a more middle-aged man with a few streaks of gray in his blue hair smiled and introduced himself.

"I'm one of the other music teachers you might have. I'm Moshin Maizono, you might recognize my daughter, Sayaka Maizono…"

"EEEEEEKKKKKK!" Many of the girls squealed with joy, causing Kiki to cover her ears in pain.

Guess the number of Sayakers has only grown since she died… Kiki thought before her mother quieted down the crowd.

"Enough. I can understand your excitement, but Maizono-sensei gets paid to teach, not to be the target of your fangirling over his deceased daughter. I will not tolerate more outbursts from the lot of you, especially on your first day. Understood?"

The guilty offenders grumbled but nonetheless quieted down, causing Kyoko to apologize "Sorry, Maizono-sensei."

Moshin shook his head and assured her "Not at all, Vice-Headmistress Naegi. Truthfully, it warms my heart that Sayaka's name still invites such enthusiasm nearly twenty years after her passing…though I will admit I don't know how many screams my aging ears can take. Regardless, I look forward to seeing their enthusiasm in my class."

Makoto and Kyoko smiled before he turned to his sister and brother-in-law, causing Hajime to clear his throat and speak up.

"Hey, my name's Hajime Hinata, and this is my wife and assistant Komaru Hinata. We're the school psychologists, and we provide free therapy and counseling sessions to any and all students."

Komaru grinned and interjected "Yep, so if there's ever anything on your mind that you need to tell to someone, just come and talk to us! We're always open!"

Kiki and Tsumugi smiled, knowing firsthand how effective their services had been from the aftermath of the Akki incident.

Makoto nodded before he suggested "Alright, now that all the teachers currently present have introduced themselves, why don't we hear from all of you? Come on, don't be shy."

After some minor, hesitant shuffling, Gonta volunteered, introducing "Gonta's name is…Gonta Gokuhara. Gonta loves bugs, but also likes to branch out and explore new things, so Gonta hopes that we can find something in common."

Several other classmates introduced themselves, spurred on by Gonta having gone first before all eyes fell on the headmaster's daughter. Kiki took a deep breath before she steeled her nerves and began her introduction.

"Hi, my name's Kiki Naegi, but please just call me Naegi-chan. I'm just a normal girl who likes video games and anime and stuff, and I wanna make lots of friends while I'm here."

The other students seemed to relax after Kiki's casual introduction, making her relax in turn as more students introduced themselves. At different points, the rest of her classmates that she knew introduced themselves.

"Um…hi. I'm Shuichi Saihara, and I'm training to be a detective. I hope I can become good enough to really call myself a detective while I'm here."

"Hi, I'm Tsumugi Shirogane, and I love anime, manga, and above all else, I love to cosplay!"

"Greetings, I am Kirumi Tojo. If there is anything I can do to make our lives as students easier, please let me know so I may fulfill your requests."

Once the last of the students had introduced themselves, Makoto smiled and announced "Alright, I think we've waited long enough. Let's dig in before the food gets cold!"

"ITADAKIMASU!"

"So, how was your first day at Hope's Peak?" Makoto asked as he and Kyoko walked with Kiki back to her dorm room.

"Well, I haven't really had classes yet, but I liked exploring all the facilities, and I got to make at least a couple new friends."

Kyoko hummed as she mused "Yes, I saw you conversing a little with Tojo-chan and Saihara-kun. Well, I'm glad you're already starting to make new friends here."

"Yeah, I just hope I make more of them this year." Kiki replied before they approached her door. "Well, guess I'll shower and relax in bed." She told them before she briefly hugged her parents.

"We expect you to come home for weekends, understood?" Kyoko told her daughter.

"Yes, Mom, I promise." Kiki giggled as her father smiled at her.

"We're really proud of you. Remember, if there's any problems, come by my office. I may not be able to show favoritism, but I still promise to help you as best I can as your headmaster."

"Thanks Dad." Kiki yawned and stretched her arms up, revealing the slightest bit of her filled belly. "Alright, good night Mom, good night Dad."

"Good night, Kiki." They waved before they walked down the hallway, leaving Kiki alone. Letting out one last yawn, Kiki turned the doorknob and walked inside, ready to change into her pajamas and go to bed so she could wake up refreshed for her first real day at Hope's Peak Academy.
