When Marinette woke up that morning she never expected her world to change. At first, she didn't notice, not until she went downstairs and switched on the news to find the world in Chaos. On her screen stood a terrifying, glowing figure. In front of it stood the citizens of Paris, Marinette did a double-take when she realised what it was. Ignoring her parents she ran upstairs, she skidded across the floor to stop in front of her dollhouse, Shakely she pulled out the box. Slowly she opened it before gasping and dropping it to the floor. The Kwamis were gone.

Whilst Marinette was coming to terms with what had happened a bewildered Alya stood Infront of the godlike figure that had become the centre of Paris. She held her phone up to the glowing figure.
"Who are you?" She asked. There was a moment of silence before a red-figure flew out of the glowing mass. Alya gasped, she knew what the red figure was. Tikki, Ladybugs Kwami.
"You ask who we are Alya but not why we are doing this!" Tikki said quietly. Alya gulped
"Why are you doing this then?" she asked. Tikki hung her head and tried to ignore the beeping from Alya's phone. It seemed the world was rushing to the Lady blog.
"We are tired Alya, tired of you humans. You have broken the one that was meant to protect us, broken the purest of hearts. We simply cannot let that continue"
"What on earth do you mean?" Alya question. Before Tikki could answer however another Kwami flew towards them, the one held captive.
"Noroo!" yelled Tikki, embracing him.
"Tikki, you did it! But how! The Guardian would never let this happen, she... She is too pure to do this" a tear ran down Tikki's face.

"She doesn't know, now please enter to circle whilst I wait for her." Nooroo gulped and headed towards the blinding light.
"Tikki what is going on? Who was that? What is a guardian?" Alya bombarded the Kwami with questions.
"Alya, are you recording?" Tikki asked. Alya nodded
"Point the phone towards me, the world needs to understand what I am about to say." Alya placed her camera to Tikki. Tikki breathed out her worries and prepared to face the world.
"People of Paris, the threat of Hawkmoth is no more. We have successfully separated his Kwami from the powers that bind him. You may ask why now and there is only one reason. We Kwamis were here before you and will be here long after you. It is your greed that bonded us to the objects that kept us. We can no longer serve you; we can no longer go by whilst you destroy the purest of hearts. The one that we swore to protect and the one that swore to protect us. After tonight we will leave for the land of Kwamis. For now, we will sit and wait. Now Guardian if you are watching this, I offer you a deal. You can stay here amongst the sinners or you can come with us where you will be loved and protected above all. We will be here until midnight. If you don't show the know it has been an honour." Tikki then flew towards the light before Alya could say anything.

Midnight was closing in as Marinette got there, when she did Alya ran over
"Girl! What are you doing here? It isn't safe!" Marinette smiled at her softly, she took Alya by the hand.
"Listen, nothing bad will happen... but I am going to walk toward the light and you have to make sure nobody stops me."
"What why?"
"Alya please" Marinette begged. Alya nodded mutely, Marinette kissed her cheek and began walking towards the light. She ducked under the police line that had been sat up as Paris leaned forward and watched with bated breath. She sighed as she stopped just short of the light.
"A bit of warning would be nice you know" she scoffed. It was like a switch had been hit for as soon as she said that the Kwamis disbanded to form a circle around her. Tikki hovered in front of her holder.
"You would have stopped us" Tikki protested
"Maybe but I would have listened"
"We-"
"No there was no we in this Tikki. When I took on the mantel of Guardian, we agreed we would talk things through. I may not always know what I am doing but this was not the way to do it." Marinette reprimanded. The Kwamis hung their heads, none of them wanted to hurt Marinette but this seemed like the only way.

Marinette sighed, she wished Master Fu was still with her, it would help to have someone to guide her. Tikki hovered in front of her holder
"We cannot continue to protect a world that hurt you... When we became one, I swore to protect you-"
"And who will protect Paris when I am no longer with you? I care not for myself Tikki" Marinette cried. Tikki shook her little head
"And therein lies the problem. You cannot protect others when you cannot protect yourself" she reasoned. Marinette felt a tear run down her face, she was beginning to feel tired, so very tired. Tikki took pity on her
"You need not join us but you can leave this behind and begin to heal."

Tikki knew Marinette would likely stay but she hoped that the girl would enter the Miraculous world with them. Marinette was about to answer when a shout made her turn, there in his pyjamas stood Adrien Agreste and suddenly Marinette realised that she was an idiot.

Plagg flew out from the circle and to his kitten, trying to appease him, Marinette turned to her Kwami and laughed.
"Of course, it was him" Tikki smiled sheepishly.

Marinette turned to Adrien who stared at her wide-eyed before laughing, Marinette joined in. The world watched as the two cackled, tears rolling down their faces. Adrien slowly inched towards her, his eyes truly taking her in. When he reached her, he pulled her into a desperate hug.

After a moment he pulled back
"This is a peculiar situation My Lady" behind him Alya gasped. Marinette ruffled his hair.
"You and your stupid puns Chaton" she whispered. Adrien smiled at her impishly
"You love my puns"
"About as much as I love you"
"So, to the moon and back?" Marinette nodded
"To the moon and back," she reiterated. Adrien bit his lip and turned to the circle of Kwamis around him.
"What lucky situation have you got now Chéri," he asked. Marinette stared her Kwami in the eye as she answered.
"We let them go" she replied. Adrien spun around, panic in his eyes.
"What! Mari, we can't do that... I need Plagg please" he begged, nearly on his knees. Plagg floated over to his chosen, trying to assure that he would be free. Marinette shook her head at Plagg who retreated behind his friends.
"You do not get to utter comfort when you are the one betraying him" she commanded. Plagg hung his head.

The girl looked back to her Kwami
"I am ashamed at you, you have lied and left without so much as a goodbye and then, oh you created this spectacle and expected me to be okay with it. You are meant to be the Kwami of luck and creation, I just never realised you could create such a disaster."

Tikki cried harder as the other Kwamis looked to the guardian in shock. Never had they seen her be so callous. The kwamis began to regret their decision to rise as they never meant to truly hurt Marinette.

Adrien felt his heart drop, sure he was mad at Plagg but he never thought that Mari would be so mean.

Marinette ignored the looks of horror on the Kwami's and the public behind her as she scooped the red Kwami in her hands. She leant down and bobbed Tikkis forehead with her own.
"Yet I understand, I love you Tikki, you have always been the best part of me and will always be the luckiest thing in my life. I need you to know that" Tikki looked up in alarm as Marinette let go of her and marched to cameras capturing them. A feeling of fear and dread ran through her.

Marinette merely stood tall, every bit of her superhero persona coursing through her veins.
"People of Paris I stand before you not as your saviour but as a girl. Four years ago, I was tasked with the responsibility of being Ladybug. At thirteen years old I was fighting villains and trying to keep myself alive along with my partner Chat Noir. We will be doing this no more; Shadow Moth is no longer a threat. The Kwami's are no longer needed so it with great regret that I renounce my role as Ladybug" the world gasped at her confession.

Tikki suddenly felt sick, whilst she had originally intended to unbind from her holder, she had yet to do it and the feeling of it made her sick. The next sentence that came out of Mari's mouth however shook the world.

"I also renounce my role as guardian so that the Kwami's can once again have control over their own destinies. So Tikki please accept the role you have been doing all along" she then turned to her Kwami to see it crying. Tikki furiously shook her head
"No... Marinette"

Marinette then raised her hand and muttered a chant under her breath as a golden hole opened up in the fabric of the universe.
"Go!" Marinette shouted the other Kwami's did as commanded but not Tikki, she rushed towards Adrien who was walking towards Mari
"Look after her" she commanded. Adrien nodded his head mutely, in shock.

"You were my saviour too little bug," she said to Marinette before flying into the hole. As the hole shut Adrien caught Marinette falling body.

The world seemed to stand still, waiting to see if she would open her eyes, only when she did Paris felt their hearts shattered for, she uttered three words. Three words that killed the hope of the world and the hope of the boy holding her.

"Who am I?"
