This chapter will focus more on secondary pairings.

Love guru
It couldn't be that hard, Sasuke thought. Just chat! He chatted all the time. Well, ok, he mostly insulted Naruto, and the others, and grunted, and glared. But it couldn't be that hard to talk normally with someone, he just did it with Tenshi, right? Although their conversation consisted in Tenshi lecturing him more than actual talk.
Walking around school grounds, Sasuke thought on what he could talk. Weather? It has been nice all week, so it wouldn't have much of what to talk about. Her day? Maybe, it was a bit cliche though. What was she up to? An interesting idea. How she was? Well, it would show that he cared, probably.
While walking around deep in his thoughts, Sasuke didn't really noticed his surroundings. Just when he bumped in something, or someone, did he snap back to reality.
"Watch it" he hissed angrily, not looking who it was.
"You were the one spacing out and bumping into me" the voice startled him. Turning to see who it was, he was met with a pair of emerald eyes. Sakura was there, glaring at him, not something she did frequently.
"Oh, um, Hn" Sasuke was at a lost of words, his brain stopping working. "What are you?" He somehow merged two questions, creating one.
"As far as I know, I'm a person, you moron" he wasn't making his situation any easier.
"No, that wasn't what I meant. I mean" he was trying to recall anything that he planned, racking his brain for anything. "The weather is nice" He tried again. She eyed him oddly.
"Yes, it's been nice the whole week" she said, still looking at him weirdly.
"Hn" Sasuke gave her a blank face, not managing to come up with another topic.
"Are you feeling ok?" She asked, seeing his odd behavior. Sasuke grunted, nodding. "Ok then, I'll be going now" she waived at him while leaving, slowly, as to not startle him.
"This is going to be hard" Sasuke said when she was out of sight, slapping his forehead. For his defense, he was caught off guard, and in a bad situation, him bumping into her and starting the conversation with the wrong foot. Remembering that Tenshi said to keep trying, he sighed. He would try again, sometime when he didn't mess up the first sentence, and when he was fully prepared.
...
That time came up on Tuesday, at class. Sitting behind her, he stared at the back of her head. He hadn't done anything wrong so far, and didn't open his mouth yet, so he had the time to think correctly before doing something dumb again.
"Do you need something?" Sakura asked him, startling him again.
"Uh, no"
"Then don't stare" she then turned back to the front of class.
"How are you?" He high fives himself mentally, feeling proud to have been able to form that sentence in a rush. Sakura turned to him again, eyeing him weirdly again.
"I'm ok, thank you. And you?" She asked back, it was the beginning of a conversation. Something good, right?
"I'm ok..." she nodded, starting to turn again, "how was your weekend?" Damn Sasuke, you are on a roll!
"It was alright" she blinked at him, "Me, ino and Hinata went shopping" He nodded.
"The weather was nice" he commented, and she giggled.
"Yes it was, you told me the same thing when you bumped into me on Saturday" he did?
"I did?" He asked, she rolled her eyes.
"Have you forgotten already?"
"Hn" he growled, and when her eyes grew stern again, he amended, "is that I had too much in my head, I guess" her eyes went soft.
"I see, well, pay more attention to where you are going, and try to not hiss at people when it was your fault bumping into them" she joked lightly, smiling a little.
"I- I'm sorry about that" Sasuke looked away, scratching the back of his head. He wasn't used to apologizing. Sakura smiled gently at him.
"I was joking, but I appreciate the apology." He nodded. The bell rang before he could say anything else.
...
The next time he got the opportunity to talk to her, it was after classes on the next day.
"Sakura" he called her when he spotted her. She was walking alone on the patio, so it was a gold opportunity.
"Sasuke-kun" she greeted him politely, a small smile on her lips.
"Uhm, how are you?" He was making sure to always ask her this whenever he saw her.
"I'm ok, just tired, gym was a little extra today" she winced, remembering how Guy Sensei made them run seven miles while carrying weights simulating a grown adult.
"Agree..." Sasuke looked around them, there were few student here and there, and there were some benches that they could use, "want to sit there?" He pointed towards the bench he was looking to. Sakura squirmed her eyes.
"Why?" Her voice was careful. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, suddenly feeling extremely nervous.
"Hn" he didn't look at her, still looking at the bench he pointed. She lingered her eyes on him for a while, and he felt being studied. After what felt like an eternity, she spoke again.
"Ok, but I don't have too much time" she answered, heading towards the bench. Sasuke let a breath he didn't know he was holding, following the pinkette. "So, what's that you want to talk about?" She asked after both were sitting.
"Hn" Sasuke took his time to elaborate what he wanted to talk about. He actually wanted to know what happened, but was afraid of the answer. "I was wondering..." he trailed off.
Sakura only stared at him, waiting for him to continue. He took a deep breath. He was an Uchiha dammit! Uchiha's didn't feel fear, or doubt, or anything in general. He could do this.
"I was wondering if I did something wrong to you. You stopped talking to me like before, so I suppose that I did something to upset you." He tried his best to keep a stoic face, but it was getting all his strength to not run away right now.
"Well... I thought that I annoyed you when I talked to you too much, you were always so quiet and, well, emotionless." She confessed. Sasuke remembered his talk with Tenshi, and how he told him how girls liked to being acknowledged and see that they were being paid attention.
"I wasn't, honestly. I'm sorry if that was the impression. I always liked to hear you talk, even if I didn't showed it… " Sasuke trailed off, a little blush on his cheeks.
"Huh" Sakura blinked, "you weren't?" Sasuke shook his head, "you liked to hear me talk?" He nodded. When Sakura didn't say anything more, Sasuke grew anxious.
"So... can you talk with me like before? I'll do my best to show that I'm listening and appreciating the company" he said, nervous, "please" now he was almost begging. Sakura giggled.
"I've never thought I would hear something like that from you" she said through her giggles.
"Hn" he stared at her, somewhat relieved that she was less tense around him, "so, will you?" He asked again.
"Yes, yes, I will, Sasuke-Kun" she gave him a warm smile, and he felt the hotness on his cheeks return, "now I need to go, I promised to help Ino with her studies. See you around" she got on her feet.
"Ok, I'll see you around, Sakura" she blushed slightly when he said her name. He smirked, they were back to where they were before. Now he just needed to not screw up things again.
Tenshi was right, he just needed to talk to her. That little guy must have been a woman in his last life!
...
Tenten noticed that Sasuke and Sakura got close, something told her that they sorted themselves. She also noticed that, for some unknown reason, more of the girls started talking more with her.
The first one was Ino, she started to go on and on about her day. Tenten found out that she, Choji and Shikamaru are childhood friends, her family owned one of the biggest floriculture of the country, her blood type is B positive (the motive of why she told Tenten that is still a mystery), and that she once hated Sakura because of boys, but now they were best friends and roommates. Tenten felt like she knew Ino for a full year after teh amount she talked, even though she started rambling for only a week.
Then, there wasn't only Ino. Hinata started to get close to her, although Tenten made sure to keep an extra distance, in case Neji got the wrong idea again. Hinata's case was way milder than Ino's. In the first days, she would just ask things like how her day was or if she liked something. After some days though, she started to chat more, and stutter less. But she wouldn't touch into much personal things like family and so on, unlike Ino.
This was going on for a week and half already, and though Tenten didn't really mind as it was nice to talk with girls again, she had a feeling that something was up.
Her gut feeling proved right when, after a volleyball practice, Sai came up to her, his trademark small smile present.
"Hello, chibi-san" he nicknamed her chibi a while ago. It could be worse she mused.
"What's up Sai" she grinned at him. They didn't talk much, but he was always polite at least. Though sometimes he did say things that were not so nice, but he didn't mean for them to be bad.
"I was wondering if you would know much about Yamanaka-san, you two look like know each other well" well, she knows Ino, Ino doesn't know her so well.
"Yeah, she a nice person, likes to talk a lot, and loves flowers. A family thing apparently. Why's that?" Her curiosity got the best of her.
"Hn" he looked thoughtful for a while, "you and I don't know each other so well, right?" He asked, Tenten nodded. "I have to confess that I'm not the best to talk. I say things that people don't like without knowing why..." was he just using her as a psychologist? "And you see, I wondered if you could help me with Yamanaka-San. After all, you managed to help Sasuke-Kun to be in the good grace of Haruno-San again." He looked at her, his face serious for once.
Tenten sighed mentally, there she goes doing matchmaking again.
"Uh, sure, I don't really know how though..."
"I was wanting to ask her on a date, but I don't really know how." damn, the boy was straight, Sasuke better take notes from this guy. Back to the boy's problem, if he didn't know how, how was she supposed to know?
"Well, why not ask her straight away?"
"A lot of guys do that, they get rejected right away" It was a fair point, Tenten did see a handful of guys getting declined by the blonde.
"You have any ideas as how I could help you then?"
"If it is not too much to ask, I was wondering if you could…"
…
So, right now Tenten found herself hidden behind a giant bush, with a communication earpiece in her ear, stalking Sai and Ino, as the boy tried to build up his courage to ask her out. Why the earpiece? Because Sai asked her to help him to formulate his conversation, that maybe he could learn how to talk well with Ino, or that at least he wouldn't screw up. How did she get this earpiece? That was something she didn't know, but Sai showed up with them like it was a normal thing to carry on. Why was she going so far to help him? Even she didn't know, but she guessed that it was her good nature.
"Sai-kun! The weather is beautiful today isn't it?" Why must everyone talk about the weather? Tenten wondered. Pushing her thoughts away, she paid attention to their conversation.
"Isn't it like this every day?" While he was right, he would need to do a little better for Ino.
"Next time, try complimenting too" She whispered through the earpiece.
"Well, but its beautiful anyway" She chirped.
"Like you" Sai said like it was nothing. Tenten's and Ino's eyes almost flew out of their skulls. That wasn't what she meant!
"R-r-really?" Ino was blushing. Tenten, for her utmost shock, took it as a great sign, not intervening.
"Yes, the blue of the sky is just like your eyes too" He again said that like it was nothing, the guy didn't even blush! Tenten mused that it was one of those times that he said things without thinking on how it affected other people.
"My eyes?" Ino was redder than Hinata when Naruto was around.
"Yes, they are very beautiful, it is pleasant to look at them" Ino was on the verge of fainting. Tenten never thought that the blond would ever do that because of a guy, usually it was the other way around with her.
"S-sai-kun, what are you meaning?" Ino chocked out, almost as a last breath.
"Hm? That I find you beautiful. If it isn't bad, would like to go on a date with me?" Tenten was shocked with how direct this guy was. A thud sound brought back her attention. Ino had fainted.
…
After some minutes of intense ruckus, the blond snapped awake. When she saw Sai, she jumped on him, saying that she would love to go out with him. Tenten felt like she didn't need to do anything, those two would sort themselves out automatically. She also had a feeling that Ino had a crush on the guy too, so that helped.
After Ino let go of Sai, she ran off like crazy, probably to tell Sakura and Hinata the news. Sai watched her, his usual smile a little wider, and later he approached Tenten, who was still hiding behind the bush.
"Thank you, Chibi-san, Sasuke was right, you are very knowledgeable about women" He told her, bowing a little in gratitude. Tenten's eyes widened at that. She let a small, nervous laugh.
"You guys are imagining things, I never even had a girlfriend in my life! I'm just a very observant person. It's just details here and there that I observe" She waived her hands in front of her frantically.
"Really? Why not?" He asked, confused.
"I, well, didn't find the right person yet?" she told him, hoping that it would clear her out. He stared at her for a while, then his usual smiling expression came back.
"Well, I hope you find this person soon." He told him, then walked off. Tenten sighed in relief. Another successful matchmaking done.
…
Neji wondered why that information hit him in the way it hit him. He just so happened to be passing by, hearing the conversation between Tenshi and Sai. When Tenshi said that he never had a girlfriend, Neji's eyes widened a little, and he felt bubbly. He also couldn't stop thinking about that.
Someone's obsessed
I'm not, I'm just surprised
We also never had a girlfriend
Same reason as him, I guess
Hn, yeah
Its true that he never had a girlfriend, but he had kissed people. Not that he wanted, them fan girls just threw themselves at him, in lighting speed. Just recently he learned to ultimate avoid them, protecting his dignity.
…
Not even a week after helping Sai, another matchmaking job came for Tenten. This time it was form Kanji.
"H-hey, senpai" It was after Saturday's practice, she was walking out in the direction of her dorm, when Kanji caught up to her.
"What's up Kanji?" she liked him, not romantically, of course. Even though he was scary, he was one of the kindest a nicest person she ever met. He was just scary on the outside, but in the inside, he was as fluffy as a teddy bear.
"I need yo helpwithsomething" He rushed the last part, and she didn't get it right.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Its that, I heard Sasuke tell Sai in the locker room, then Sai commented after some days to Sasuke, something about you being a love guru…" She blinked.
"I'm what now?" She asked again, gapping in surprise.
"Well, you help people to get closer with their crush, don't you?" Kanji aske, embarrassed.
"Well… I guess?" She really couldn't say otherwise. Kanji paused, looking to the ground. Tenten paused and glanced back at him.
"You see, I have someone who I would like to get closer" Tenten felt her girly side arise. Kanji was so cute, she was going to make sure he would get closer to whoever it was.
"Really? Who? who?" She was practically jumpin in place.
"Dunno if you know… Naoto Shirogane?" Tenten's eyes widened. She had heard, and even saw the small girl. She was a tomboyish girl just like her.
"Oh my god! That's so awesome! Of course I'll help you!" She giggled. Kanji looked at her confused.
"Why did you just sound like a woman, senpai?" He asked, and Tenten stopped on her tracks.
"It happens when I get way to excited…" She laughed nervously. Kanji bought it though, so yay.
"Uh, ok. So, what should I do?" He asked, his nerves coming back.
"Do you have hobbies to talk about?"
"Yeah, I sew and cook, she likes to read and investigate things. She's from a family of detectives…" Tenten blinked.
"You sew?" She asked, and she saw a defense mechanism go right up within Kanji.
"Yeah! Got a problem with that?" He snapped. Tenten flinched, causing him to notice his little outburst. "S-sorry senpai… Its that people usually laugh at me when they know this…" He explained. Now she understood the scary look and tough act.
"Don't worry. Its an incredible skill, really. It really is surprising that a man likes to do it, but who labeled that something is just for a man or for a woman is an asshole. If you really like it, then be proud of it" She assured him, trying to cheer him up.
"S-senpai… Thank you!" He wiped a tear from his eye. He really was fluffy on the inside.
"Anyway, back at the topic. Why don't you sew something for her, something you think she would like? You guys seem to get along well, so maybe a little gift, or cook her a meal. It will be the first step to other things, like a date… Who knows!" She tried, hopping it would give him ideas. She never talked with this Naoto girl, so she couldn't really give a specific advice.
"Something she would like…" Kanji seemed to think about it, "I think that I know something, thank you senpai! I will go do it right now!" And with that, he stormed off. Tenten smiled, feeling happiness in helping him, hoping he would be alright.
…
Without even knowing how Kanji's case went, she already had another request, this time, from Hinata.
"T-Tenshi-kun?" Tenten just passed by a corridor, and almost yelled, scared, when she suddenly heard the shy girls voice. Recomposing herself, she turned to Hinata. She was hiding by the way, only half of her body visible.
"Hinata-san?" The girl looked at her.
"I… You… Help?" She asked, blushing a lot. Tenten blinked and prayed, to all the gods she ever heard of, that Neji wouldn't be close by.
"Uh, yeah, what you need?" She asked, still blinking.
"N-N-Naruto-kun" The girl looked at her fidgeting fingers.
"Naruto? Did he do something to you?" Tenten asked, just to make sure, even though she knew that the blonde would never hurt the shy girl. At her question, hinata's eyes widened.
"No!" She almost yelled, cupping her mouth with her hand. After a moment, she dropped her hand, "I w-wanted t-to get closer with h-h-him…" She stuttered. Tenten smiled warmly. The girl decided to take initiative, that was a brave thing to do.
"Well, for your case I don't think you need much. Trust yourself girl! I'm sure Naruto likes you as much as you like him!" Tenten only realized her mistake after hearing a thud.
Some minutes later, some odd looks here and there, and thankfully no Neji, Hinata woke up.
"Did you mean that!?" She asked immediately. Tenten was shocked that the girl didn't stutter.
"Yeah, I mean, he treats you kindlier and gets worried with you than anyone else." She smiled at the girl, who looked down at her hands with a happy expression.
"So I have a chance" She whispered, more to herself than to Tenten.
"Of course you have!" Tenten chuckled, then her face became dark, "Your only problem is your cousin though, he is like a vicious bird that will attack anyone that gets close enough…"
"Nii-san doesn't mean it like a bad thing" The girl tried to protect her cousin, Tenten smiled at her.
"Of course not, he just wants to protect you," Tenten sighed, "I'll deal with him, and you try to go after Naruto" She told the shy girl.
"You will deal with nii-san?" Hinata blinked at her. Tenten gave her a reassuring smile.
"Hey, I will talk some sense into him, and if it isn't enough, I'll just punch it into him. So don't worry, just worry on getting good enough to talk with Neruto without fainting" She grinned at the girl. Hinatta giggled.
"O-ok, Thank you Tenshi-kun" Hinata gave her one angelic smile.
"No prob, anytime" Tenten smiled back. After they bid their goodbyes, Tenten started to think in how on earth she would tame Neji.
Speaking of the devil, as soon as she turned on the corner of the next hallway, she was met with him, almost yelping in surprise.
"Are you ok?" Neji asked her, noticing her surprise in seeing him.
"Yes, of course, why would I not?" She nervously scratched the back of her head.
"Hn" He started to walk past her when she grabbed his wrist. Not his shoulder because he was way taller than her, of course.
"Wait, I just remembered something. When are we going to make our clay models?" She had totally forgotten about that while she was busy playing her role as love advisor. By the look on Neji's face, he too had forgotten it.
"When can you?" He told her. She thought about it for a moment.
"We can whenever we want?" She asked. He nodded. "So lets do it tomorrow at five, again. Or you are busy?"
"I'm not busy" He automatically replied. She blinked.
"Ok then, I'll find you in front of the arts classroom at five tomorrow." He nodded.
"Can you let go of my wrist now?" He asked, voice monotonous. She then realized that she was still holding his wrist, each of her finger burning with the sensation of touching his skin. Releasing him almost immediately, she mumbled an apology, while trying hard to suppress her blush.
"Hn" He kept on his way, leaving her be. Letting a breath in relief, Tenten headed for her room, she would need to think about how to approach Neji about Hinata's case. She really wanted the shy girl's happiness, but she was regretting taking this task. She proposed that by impulse, and now she needed to deal with the Hyuga genius. Just great.
…
"Tennie! I missed youuuu" Tenshi answered her. She decided on calling him first, as she didn't get to talk with him for some time.
"Yeah, yeah" she dismissed him, waiving a a hand.
"So cold" Tenshi put his arms around him and shivered, making a point. Tenten rolled her eyes.
"How are things over there? Have you behaved?"
"Absolutely! And how are things in there? Any new matchmaking job?" He asked. She had told him about her little side job, and he laughed his ass off, saying that it was very like her, to butt in and try to help people.
"Yes… Neji's cousin asked my help" She sighed. Tenshi's eyes widened.
"The overprotective guy cousin? Good luck with that!"
"The girl and her crush are so deep in love with each other, the real problem is Neji… And I kind of offered to deal with him… I'm screwed" Tenshi started to laugh at her depressed state.
"Well sis, you just throw some charm at him and he'll behave" She glared at her brother.
"Cant, I'm a man, remember? He would probably kill me if I tried to flirt with him, which I won't. In any case, I need to think about something, tomorrow we will make our clay models." Even though she wasn't in a good position, she smiled unconsciously, it will be fun to see the great Hyuga Neji get dirty with clay, not to mention that she would have to teach him, so that made her better than him in something.
"You don't seem too troubled by that though" Tenshi mentioned, smirking at her. Tenten glared at him again, but before she could retort, Julio appeared.
"Tenten-san! How is everything in there? Is your fan club growing? Did you find a candidate that suits you?" Tenten groaned.
"Julio, for the love of-"
…
Its just work, nothing more. Neji kept thinking to himself, the area where Tenshi held his wrist still burning from it. They would go in there, do the damn clay old women, then leave on their separate ways.
You know, It would be nice to sleep
I'm trying
Then stop thinking about tomorrow
I'm trying!
You are hopeless
I'm seeing a pattern. I always end with Neji, dunno why haha Anyway, hope y'all liked this chapter. The next one will be the their little clay date! Please review and let me know what you think! I'll see you all on the next chapter.
Be safe!
