AN: Back with chapter two. Wanted to answer comments from chapter one as well as clear the air on an issue a few people had.

Drake Atlas. Thanks for the ideas. I do enjoy Bell with lightning style magic and this will probably happen. As for the two high level individuals you mentioned. All I'll say for now is I have plans for them ;)

RabbitHaremLover24. I tried to do as much research as I could before writing this fic. I've got all the names down, and the ages of the more popular people. I'll try to make this as realistic as possible. Also yes I have read "Enslaved Rabbit" and I agree I absolutely love it. This will probably take small influences from that story. As for adding to the familia I hadn't thought of it at first but like you say Haruhime would be an easy add. She'd join whatever familia Bell is in. I'll give it some thought.

Guest: One of the guest reviewers mentioned Astrea being OOC. You may very well be right. It's hard to judge her personality going solely off the mobile game. I apologize if I portrayed her differently. I'll try to correct that going forward.

Lastly, the issue of Bell's age. I understand making a harem for a five year old is not right and I agree. I should have made my summary a little more clear. The harem is down the road. I will be keeping rather clean while Bell grows up. The reason I didn't age him up initially or simply have the Astrea Familia survive and Bell join later was because I wanted the back stories to be the same, then I would branch out on my own. I have plans for the Evilus attack and promise not make Bell stupidly OP. You'll just have to trust me and wait and see. Feel free to PM me if you need anything. Thank you all for the reviews!

Having made it back to their camp, Ryuu, Lady Astrea, and Alise, who was currently carrying an unconscious Bell, were going over what had happened, and what they should do next.

"So let me get this straight. While you were being attacked, a boy comes from seemingly nowhere, and gets beaten up trying to save you?" Asked the familia's captain to her goddess.

"Yes, and unfortunately, I wasn't even able to get his name. He was trying to act so brave, but I could see the fear in his eyes. Even so, he never backed down. No matter how many times he was knocked down, he always got back up. I was beginning to fear for his life."

"Well he wasn't too severely injured, but he probably has a concussion" said Ryuu, having finished healing the boy. "It's just a matter of time now before he wakes, but what are we going to do with him? Where are his parents?"

"I'm not sure yet. No one else has shown up or come looking for him, it's possible he was separated from them at some point. After everything he went through for me, the least we can do is help return him to his family." Said Lady Astrea, with a small smile on her face as she looked down on the boy laying next to everyone.

"I agree. For now, we'll stay the night at camp as it's getting late. Hopefully in the morning he will wake and we can ask him some questions" said Alise.

.

As the early morning sun started to peak through the trees, Bell began to stir awake.

"Ugh, my head. What happened... where am I?" Bell asked out loud to no one in particular. Memories of the day before came flooding back and with a quick jolt he shot up to look around. The sudden movement was enough to wake the others.

As Bell glanced around, three sets of eyes were now firmly placed on him. Bell wasn't sure what to do or what to say, but he quickly recognized them as the ones from yesterday. One being the woman who he had attempted to rescue. She had long light brown hair, and grayish blue eyes. She was exceedingly beautiful, and was currently staring at him with a soft yet warm smile on her face. She seemed very friendly.

The second and third sets of eyes, Bell recognized as the two that had stepped in and saved them from the bandits. Both woman also being more beautiful than Bell could describe. One had a large grin on her face, while the other looked rather passive. Not really showing any emotion. She was simply staring at him with a rather blank face.

"Um.. hello..." said Bell rather quietly. He wasn't quite sure what to make of this yet.

"How are you feeling?" Asked the woman with light brown hair.

"I'm a little sore, but I feel better than I did yesterday. I don't really remember what happened after these two showed up though." Bell said, pointing to Alise and Ryuu. "Where are the ones who were attacking you?"

"They have been dealt with and will no longer pose a threat to either one of us. Perhaps I should introduce myself. My name is Astrea, and I am the goddess of Justice"

At hearing this. Bell's jaw had nearly hit the floor. He was taught about some of the more famous gods and goddesses from his Grandpa. All the top dogs were mentioned. Astrea was one of them. Bell remember what his Grandfather had told him about Astrea and her familia. They were essentially the "police force" of Orario. They upheld the laws of the land alongside the Ganesha familia. Bell had nothing but the utmost respect for this familia as they were responsible for "putting away the bad guys" as Bell had worded it.

"Wait so does that mean that these two are...?!?!"

"Yes, these two are my children and part of my familia" Astrea said with a small giggle after seeing the absolute excitement that filled the boys face.

"This is Alice, she is our captain." Said Astrea while pointing to the red haired woman. "And this is Ryuu, one of our newer members."

Both women gave Bell their own version of an introduction. Alice's was lively and loud, while Ryuu's was short and to the point.

"Now with that out of the way, I don't believe I ever caught your name." Said Astrea

"Oh right I'm sorry. I got so caught up in meeting one of my favorite familias I almost forgot!" Said Bell, still smiling from ear to ear. "I'm Bell, Bell Cranel"

"It's very nice to meet you Bell, but may I ask why we are one of your favorite familias?

"Well growing up, my Grandpa would always tell me stories about the familias in Orario. The things they accomplished and what not. Stories about your familia were some of my favorites! You put the bad guys away and protected all the people. Why wouldn't you be one of my favorites!" Exclaimed Bell. His kind and honest words making the three women smile.

"I guess I won't be getting any more stories though.." said Bell. His tone doing a one eighty and his smile starting to fall off. This was something not missed by any one of the other three present. Figuring it was time to learn about this boys situation, Lady Astrea spoke up.

"Bell, if I may, why are you out here in the woods? And where are the others you're traveling with?" Asked the goddess, a mix of curiosity and concern present in her voice.

"I...I don't really know what I'm doing here. I ran away from my village and just ended up here. I stumbled upon your camp when I heard a scream and came running."

"Wait you ran away? Bell have you been traveling alone?!" Asked Astrea.

"Yes, but only for a day. I left my village yesterday morning. I...I couldn't stay there any longer." Said Bell, the sadness growing in his voice.

Knowing there was more to this story, but not wanting to press the issue right now, Astrea decided to pause her questioning until after breakfast. She hoped a nice meal would help comfort the boy.

"Why don't we make something to eat? Are you hungry Bell?"

As if on cue, before Bell could answer, his stomach let out a small growl. Unable to hid her smile, Astrea asked if Ryuu and Alise could begin preparing the food.

.

As the morning went on, Bell had asked many questions about the goddess and her familia. He was mainly recalling all the stories he'd heard, and asked whether or not they had happened. To his joy, they were all true.

"I'm surprised you know so much about us and have taken this kind of interest in us Bell. It makes me happy to know there are people out there who care" said Astrea with a warming smile on her face.

"Of course! But I do have one more question."

"Ask away and I'll do my best to answer it"

"Why do you only let women into your familia?"

Hearing this question, both Alise and Ryuu froze up. Something Bell completely missed. It wasn't that this was a sensitive topic in the familia, it was more just something everyone avoided as Astrea would usually get worked up and go on a heated ramble about Men and the un-trust worthy pigs they were. She had many reasons why she didn't allow any men into her familia, but it could be summed up as none of them deserved to be. They all had ulterior motives behind everything and were fueled by greed and lust. Afraid of another rampage of words coming from their Goddess, Alise and Ryuu stepped forward to answer that question and quickly change subject, only to be stopped by Astrea as she put her hand up to halt them.

"Before I answer that Bell, I'd like to know more about your situation and how you came to be here with us." Said Astrea, with no hints of any anger in her voice. She was calm and collect.

"I'm not sure where to begin. I guess I'll start from the beginning." Said Bell, looking at the ground. He knew this would be a difficult story and was hoping he didn't have a break down halfway through.

"I never knew my parents. I was raised solely by my Grandfather. I was told my mother was very sick, and died shortly after giving birth to me. I don't know anything about my father. The subject was always shut down any time I asked. For as long as I can remember, it was just Grandpa and me. I was really happy being with him, but two days ago..." Bell began to grow quiet. No more words escaping his mouth.

The others had gone quiet. Each suspecting what the next part of the story would be. Astrea, not wanting to cause the boy anymore pain, reached out her hand to his. As she grabbed it, he looked up and into her eyes. She could see how hard he was trying to restrain the tears that threatened to burst out. As she gave him a small smile. She opened her arms wide, signaling him to come. As Bell rushed in for a hug, the dam broke and he let lose and cried in her arms. Alise and Ryuu were utterly shocked by this display. Sure Astrea would comfort the children of her familia when they needed her, but here she was. Comforting a boy. They hadn't ever seen her embrace a member of the opposite sex. She rarely even let them come into contact with her.

After a few minutes like this, and Astrea whispering sweet nothings into Bell's ear, he was able to calm down enough to continue his story.

"Two day ago, my Grandpa told me he had to leave. At first, I didn't understand, but he told me he was going away and he wasn't sure he would be coming back. I asked to go with him but he said I couldn't. He told me I'd be staying with the family that lived next door. When I woke up yesterday morning, the pain of losing the only family member I had was too much, and so... I packed my bag and just...ran."

"So you've been traveling by yourself?!" Asked Alise, shocked to hear a boy could have survived an entire day on his own.

"Yes I have. When I left I didn't really have any place in mind, but now that I think about it, I want to go to Orario. All my Grandpa's stories are about it."

"Bell, how old are you?" Asked Alise.

"Five." Replied Bell

Too shocked to answer right away, the three women sat in silence just looking at each other. Unsure of what to say at this point. It took a few minutes, but finally, the goddess spoke up.

"Bell, how would you like to come to Orario with us? We've just finished our quest and will be heading back. Should take us about a week to get there." Asked Astrea.

"I don't want to be a burden to anybody." Said Bell in a rather shy voice. Something the others found to be rather adorable.

"Bell please. If it wasn't for you, I don't know what would have happened to me. Please let me return the favor by keeping you safe on the way to the city." Pleaded Astrea.

"I didn't do anything though. All I did was get hit a bunch. I wasn't strong enough to protect you... I'm sorry." As the last part came out, Bell had looked down, ashamed he had been so weak and vulnerable.

"Miss Alise and Miss Ryuu are the ones that saved you. Not me."

Seeing this, Astrea could hardly believe it. Here he was, trying not to take any credit whatsoever for the bravery he had shown. She had never seen this in one so young before. Most kids, and honestly even most adults would jump at the chance to take credit for something heroic. It was very rare to find someone with such humility. That being said, there was a difference between humility and stubbornness. Before it got to that point, Astrea decided to set the boy straight.

"Bell listen to me. What you did yesterday was incredible. You jumped in to save someone whom you'd never met. All without concern for your own well being. Even when you had lost and been beaten down, you continued to fight for what you believed to be right. Even when your body could take no more you pushed through. I owe you my life Bell. Please accept that." Said Astrea, embracing the boy in another hug.

Receiving such high praise from a beautiful woman, and a goddess no less, all the while being in her embrace, was too much for Bell. He had turned completely red and his mind was going haywire. He was unable to form any sort of reply. Seeing this being the case, Astrea couldn't help but laugh to herself.

"I take it we have an agreement then?" She asked. Bell was unable to speak still, and simply nodded his head.

.

The group had been traveling for a few hours now. Astrea and Alise would take turns asking Bell about his likes and dislikes, and the things he would do for fun back in his village. Ryuu remained quiet most of the time, just listening to stories being told. Every few hours Bell would begin to grow tired and they would either stop for a break, or he would get a piggy back ride from Alise.

As night fell they setup camp and had a quick dinner. As the three women were snuggling into their own tents and sleeping bags, Bell wasn't quite sure what to do. Not wanting to intrude. He decided to just sleep on the ground next to the remains of the fire. Seeing as he wasn't going to ask, Alice took the initiative for him.

"Bell, why don't you come stay in my tent, there's enough room for you to squeeze in here." Said Alise, waiving him over.

"Oh.. I don't know, I don't want to bother y..."

"Ohh come on Bell! It's too cold out here for you to be alone" demanded Alise, not giving the boy any room to argue.

Realizing she wasn't going to let this go, Bell slowly made his way to her tent. As he inched closer, Alise suddenly reached out her hand and grabbed Bell, yanking him into the tent. She opened her sleeping bag and motioned for Bell to climb in. As he did, he wasn't able to hide the growing blush on his face. Something not only Alise caught, but the other two as well as they had been watching the whole ordeal play out. Ryuu showed little to no changes in her appearance, but Astrea couldn't stop the smile forming on her face at such a warming display.

Now that he was warmed up, sleep quickly claimed young Bell. Ryuu and Lady Astrea had also turned in for the night and were fast asleep. Alise however was not. She could not help but stare at the sleeping boy next to her. Silently feeling sorry for everything that's happened to the boy. Without even realizing it, she had begun to run her hands through his fair. It was so soft and inviting. Hearing a quick mewl come from Bell, Alise could only smile, and let her mind settle as sleep soon over came her.

The coming days were spent much the same. Bell would get piggy back rides from Alise, and would sleep in her tent at night. Bell would read stories from his hero books to the three, stopping to add his two cents every now and then. Everyone was happy... everyone but one. An elf in particular who was growing concerned with how close Alise and the boy were becoming. They were almost inseparable as Bell spent most of his time with Alise. The remainder being spent with Lady Astrea. Bell had learned quickly on the second day not to touch Ryuu. He had attempted to ask for a piggy back ride, only to be immediately silenced by Alise. She then told him that elves, Ryuu in particular, do not care to be touched by those not close to them. After hearing this, Bell kept his distance from Ryuu, only giving her smiles when they made eye contact.

This was the problem for Ryuu however. As Bell grew closer and closer to Alise, she feared what would happen once they reached Orario. Bell would most likely end up at an orphanage, or maybe a familia like Ganesha could take him in. She was afraid that Alise and Bell would only be saddened once they realized they could no longer spend any time together. She needed to have a talk with Alise. She waited until Bell and Lady Astrea were busy with cooking dinner for the night.

"Alise, I need to ask you something"

"Sure, what's up Ryuu?"

"It's about the boy. You kn.."

"Bell" interjected Alise.

"What?" Asked Ryuu

"His name is Bell. You can say it you know." Said Alise, a little off put by Ryuu's cold shoulder towards Bell

"It's about... Mr Cranel..." said Ryuu, still not wanting to use his name.

"That's a little formal for a five year old Ryuu. Call him Bell"

Sighing to herself and figuring it wasn't worth the argument, Ryuu relented and would use his name.

"Fine. It's about Bell. I'm concerned with how close you two are becoming. I don't want to see you hurt when we get back home and the two of you part ways." Said Ryuu. Already wanting the conversation to be over before it really even began.

"Is that all this is about? Come on Ryuu, you can't help but like him. He's always so positive and energetic despite everything that's happened to him. His smile is infectious and you can't help but be happy when he's around. I know we won't see him much once we get back, but it's not like we can't visit each other. He's a special kid and I for one like having him around." Said Alise

"Alise he's a male. I don't think Lady Astrea wants him coming over for visits." Said Ryuu. A completely serious look on her face.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that" said Alise, pointing her finger towards Bell and their goddess.

As Ryuu looked over, she could see that Alise wasn't the only one growing attached to the boy. Bell and Astrea had been tasked with making dinner that night. This was more so on Astrea, as Bell just helped out here and there. He also volunteered to be the taste tester. Ryuu watched on in awe as Bell, who was sitting on Lady Astrea's lap, was being spoon fed by the goddess herself to taste the meal. Both Bell and lady Astrea were smiling and laughing to each other. Of course this sight filled Alise with joy, Ryuu however, was rather unhappy that her goddess was so casually interacting with a child they had only met days ago.

As the days went on, and Orario drew closer, Bell's excitement grew as well. He had been asking about the city and all its dealings. Alise and Astrea did their best to give Bell a general run down of how things worked. They talked about the different types of familias, what the guild was and it's purpose, and of course, the dungeon. This part had excited Bell the most, much to the concern of the others. He was told that in order to enter the dungeon, you needed to become an adventure, meaning having the blessing of a god or goddess. While there was no technical age restriction on entering the dungeon, Astrea had nearly begged Bell to promise that he would not enter until he was older. Doing so reluctantly, Bell agreed. Upon doing so he was rewarded with a rather nice hug from the goddess, so Bell considered it a fair trade in his book. He was really starting to enjoy his time with Alise and Lady Astrea, unaware of what would happen once they arrived in Orario

.

Finally a week had passed. It was the morning of the day they would return home. They had setup camp for the last time about an hour outside the main gate. Deciding it was best to get an early start and avoid the entrance lines, the group set out for the final time together. When the walls of Orario came into view, Bell could barely contain his excitement. Saying the walls were tall was an understatement. They towered over everything else in view. As they approached the gate, the line had just started to form. Moving quickly, it was soon their turn.

"NEXT" shouted one of the guards.

"Astrea Familia returning from its quest." Said Alice, as she handed over the slip to the guard.

Scanning over the slip, the guard was about to send them through, when one detail caught his eye.

"Says here three people."

Figuring this was her cue, Lady Astrea stepped forward.

"Bell here is new to the city and would like to enter." Said the goddess.

"Yes fine very well. He'll need to fill out this form. There's also the 15K Valis entrance fee." Stated the guard, showing no emotion at all.

Hearing about the entrance fee Bell instantly froze. He had no money. Was his journey already about to end before he even really started? Astrea, who had suspected as much, was happy to pay the fee for him as a token of appreciation for his help.

"I'll cover the fee" she said, handing the guard the money from her pouch.

"Come Bell, let's get this filled out for you."

Name : Bell Cranel

Age: 5

Race: Human

Familia: N/A

Reason for visit: Seeking permanent residence.

"This should do it" said Astrea, turning in the slip for Bell.

"Hmmm yes everything is in order. You may enter. Welcome to Orario...NEXT" shouted the guard, already having moved on from Bell.

As they made their way through town, Bell couldn't help but stare wide eyed at everything. First was the buildings. There were so many he didn't think he could even count that high! They were all shapes and sizes as well. Second was the people. Bell had never seen so many different races before. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and did that person have dog ears?! Bell couldn't believe it. He was finally seeing the city his Grandpa would go on and on about. He was finally going to follow in the path of his favorite heroes.

Deciding to make a stop at local cafe for lunch, the group sat around a table to discuss what to do next.

"Ryuu, you go to the guild and turn in the quest. When you're done with that you can meet us back at the mansion" said Alise, taking her roll as captain and giving out orders.

"Yes captain" came the simple response from the elf.

"As for you Bell, I guess we will need to talk to the orphanage about you joining them. Seeing as how you have no money you won't really be able to stay anywhere else." Said Alise. Her voice slowly losing the upbeat tone it had.

Bell could only look down to hide his face. He knew this was coming. A small part of him had hoped that he could stay with Lady Astrea, Alise, and even Ryuu wasn't so bad. But he remembered his Grandfather's stories of how the Astrea Familia was a females only familia, and as such, he knew it wasn't possible.

"Bell, do you remember on the first night you made camp with us, you asked me a question." Said Astrea

"I asked a lot of questions that night." Said Bell, not sure what she was looking for.

"You asked me why I only accept women into my familia. I didn't answer right away because I was saving my answer for this moment."

Bell, still unsure of what she was going to say, lifted his head to look her in the eyes.

"I've been alive for thousands and thousands of years Bell, and over that time, I have come to the conclusion that all men are the same fundamentally. They may look different and act different, but deep down they are the same. Driven by greed and lust. When I descended to this world, I wanted to avoid contact with men as much as possible. I don't hate them per say, but they are of no interest to me. As such, I started an all female familia. Justice is not the only thing I am a goddess of Bell. While it may be what I am known for the most, I am also a goddess of purity."

"While I'm happy to have received an answer to my original question, why are you bringing this up now? What does this have to do with me?" Asked a very confused Bell

"Because you are different. You are not like other men. You have a pure heart, something I have not seen before. You act without doubt for what you believe in. You are willing to risk your own life to save others. You are still innocent, untouched by the world."

As Astrea went on, Alise's smile slowly grew as she hoped her goddess was leading up to something she wanted very much. A week ago she would have never considered such a thing, but now, after spending the week with Bell and getting to know him, she was hoping for the impossible too.

"Bell. I'm going to break my one rule. Just this once. For you. Would you join my familia?"

AN: Chapter two done! The story is starting to take shape and we can slow down a little now. Again feel free to message me if you need.

See you all next time!
