Bella's POV

Laying in bed, wrapped up in the silky sheets with my head on my husband's smooth chest and his arms around me. I felt perfectly content as music played on the radio from the living while we were recovering from getting lost in each other on this Monday morning. Laying there with him was heaven on Earth; there was no other place I'd rather be.

Moving slightly so I could see his angel's face, I looked at him. His golden eyes that had been fixed on the ceiling forced on me. He smiled his crooked smile before I placed a kiss on his lips. His lips yielded to mine as he let out a moan while I changed positions and laid on top of him.

"I see you missed me, love." Edward mumbled against my lips, his hands trailing down my back.

"I sure did." I kissed him once more before my lips parted from him and I rested on his chest.

"As I've missed you too." He said and I know how true that was. "If this is the greeting I get when I return. Then maybe I should go on another weekend hunting trip to the California desert with my father and brothers." He chuckled.

"Don't you dare." I playfully swatted his arm. "You were gone for way too long."

"Well, your attack on me was very entertaining and fun. I barely had time to walk in the door before you ripped my clothes off." He mused.

"I missed you too much." There was no better explanation than that.

"I know. I missed you and Nessie too." He agreed. His velvet voice was like honey and music to my ears.

"She'll be very excited when you pick her up from school this afternoon." I smiled and he nodded in agreement. "So how was your very long hunting trip?"

He had arrived back home a little over three hours ago, yet this was the first real conversation we had. It wasn't that we had nothing to say to each other, but more that we had been too occupied with the pleasure that we were bringing each other to speak. Well, other than to tell the other how good a practical touch or motion felt. We had been having way too much fun.

That was the joy of it being a weekday and a school day for Nessie. Edward and I were completely alone, free to relish in delightful pleasure without having to worry about any of our obligations as parents for the time being.

"It was a long hunting trip. Fun. But I'm happy to be able to hold you in my arms once again." His answer was simple yet very meaningful.

"Uh-huh." I said, lazily resting my head on his shoulder and breathing in his scent.

To emphasize his earlier words he then wrapped both of his arms around me and held me tight. We laid there like that for the longest time. Wrapped up in each other arms just getting lost in our hug, lost in the room and lost in the music on the radio.

I have no doubt that we could have stayed like that for hours and maybe even would have lost track of time if the moment would have lasted longer. But the world goes on spinning and it's sure not forgiving of everyone's fears.

My phone that was on the nightstand rang, loud and clear, breaking our peaceful moment. I didn't want to move but I did and slid to my side of the bed. Grabbing my phone and seeing the number on the screen which was Forks Elementary School, I felt a surge of panic run through me. Edward noticed my anxiety. He rubbed my arm as I sat up and answered the call.

"Hi, Mrs. Cullen, this is Kim from the front office at Forks Elementary." The pleasant voice on the other end of the phone said. "I'm calling because we have Nessie here in the office and we need you to come down here as soon as possible."

Edward and I looked at one another. It was obvious by his expression that he was fearing the worst just as I was. At once he was off the bed and in our large closet, finding something to wear.

"Okay." I spoke calmly into the receiver. "What is the problem?"

"Well, she was sent to the Principal's office for slapping a boy." Kim answered.

"Slapping a boy?" I echoed. From inside the closet something dropped to the floor with a loud crash. I didn't pay attention to that.

I sat on the bed with my phone clutched in my hand. I was trying to wrap my mind around the fact that my sweet little girl had hit another kid. That did not sound like Nessie. She's not one to result in physical violence of any kind. This made no sense.

"Evidently, the bow on her shoes got caught on a zipper on a boy's backpack." The school's secretary explained. "Another boy told her, "Then don't wear boys on your shoes." Her teacher said that Nessie then got mad because she really likes her bows on her shoes. She then...growled. Before she slapped the boy, knocking out his loose tooth."

"Oh no." I gasped.

"Here," Edward mouthed the words to me. At this point he was standing by the bed, fully dressed with my clothes in his right hand. "Put these on. We need to go."

Taking my clothes from him, I nodded.

"Yes," The voice on the other end of the phone said. "Even though this is her first time getting sent to the office we need you to come down and speak with the Principal. This is unacceptable behavior."

"Okay. I'm so sorry. I'll be right there." I sounded very shocked and I was.

Our call ended not long after that.

In total disbelief I quickly got dressed and brushed my hair. I checked myself in the full length mirror, giving myself a quick once over, making sure I looked presentable. Edward was ready and so was I. We left our cottage at once.

Edward and I ran at full speed through the forest and past the main house. We ran into the large garage and quickly got inside his shiny Volvo. In no time at all we were down the road, headed toward town and the school where Nessie - who was in trouble - was waiting for us.

"I can't believe she actually hit a child and growled over bows." Edward shook his head as he flew down the road, driving like a maniac.

"I know." I agreed. I couldn't believe it either.

As I sat in the passenger seat with the outside world passing us by in a blink of an eye. I began to think of Alice and how she loves fashion, maybe a little too much. That was when something clicked inside my brain and I began giggling.

Edward glanced at me. "What's so funny, love?"

"I was just thinking." I said, trying not to laugh. "That this seems more like an Alice Cullen reaction to fashion than a reaction that Nessie would have. Don't you think so?"

"Oh My God!" He spoke slowly. He seemed to be making a connection of his own. "It really does. She's a mini Alice."
