~Thursday

Hermione woke with a headache, she hadn't slept well she shouldn't have blown up on him but damn he was oblivious to the needs of a future partner. She didn't have charities and clubs to keep her busy. She had grown up as a normal family, go to work, come home, and cook dinner together and spend time together. Not this, lonely, she could only hope her other choice was better.

'Tinky can I get some headache potion please?' she croaked, there was a knock at her door.

'Yes, come in.' it was Lucius with a vial in his hand.

'Tinky said you needed this? I am sorry to have caused the headache, I have been alone and self-absorbed for so long, it is a bad habit. I have rearranged my schedule and if you will let me make it up to you, I will take you to Paris to get your ball gown for tomorrow night.'

'Yes, thank you, that might be a nice day trip. Do you think we will be able to find a dress for tomorrow?'

'Yes, there are enough shops to visit, you should be able to find something to suit you. Well go get ready, will an hour give you enough time?'

'Yes, thank you Lucius.' as she kissed his cheek. An hour later they had used a portkey to Paris. They had met up with one of his Paris assistants. She guided them to all of the nicer dress shops. Finally Hermione had found her dress, a beautiful green gown. They stopped for a late lunch at a cute little café. Just as they were getting up to leave a silver patronus appeared asking for Lucius return to the office. Four hours later they were leaving the office. Well at least I got to go shopping she thought to herself, as they used the portkey to return home.

'I know you need to write some letters and get that whole mess cleared up.' as she went to the library, only to find Severus Snape perusing the shelves.

'Professor?'

'Miss Granger, Nice to see you here and as I am no longer your professor you can call me Severus.'

'Thank you, and it's Hermione, I didn't realize you're the housemate.'

'Yes, after the war, I needed a place to stay and as Lucius has more room than he knows what to do he offered me the east wing to live in.' pulling a book down. 'Are you looking for anything in particular?'

'No, just something to pass the time.' she said dejectedly.

'Well Narcissa always had this secret stash.' as he pulled a bust of some old wizard aside, showing a stack of muggle romance novels.

'Thanks, wish we had crossed paths earlier this week.' she grinned, he was still handsome. 'Are you signed up for a date a witch program?'

'No, um yes… I did not put my name on the list but I have heard someone has, put me on the list. I have to wait to see if I have been picked for some lucky lady, the letters come out tomorrow afternoon, for this next weeks dates.'

'That doesn't give people enough time to get their work schedules changed.'

'Well from what I know MoM have told all to allow the men to work half schedules, so they can get time to know their future wives. So for me I would be able to take 3 afternoons off to take my date places and get to know her better. I just hope I get a good pick, I don't think I could handle Luna Lovegood and her butterbeer cork earrings.' smirking.

'I don't know she might be able to make a nice necklace for you. Or maybe Lavender Brown might be a good match?' giggling.

'Lucky for me Mr. Weasley has snatched that up, so that is a safe no. Well you have found a book to keep you company for the evening, I bid you goodbye.' as he turned to leave. He stopped just out of the doors. 'I hope I get her as my date, she would be a wonderful choice, she is beautiful, smart, enough moxie to keep me on my toes and she has grown up to be sexy as hell.' he said to himself.

Hermione grabbed her book, as she stomped up the stairs, 'They have time off to date? The arse has spent all of his time at work. Urgh! I wish Severus had been my date, that voice, uhmm'
