Blazing through on day twenty-nine.

"Erk! I'm tired! Can we rest for a bit?"
The pink-haired cleric pouted as her escort's eye twitched in annoyance. The two were on their way to Ostia, but unbeknownst to Serra, her escort would rather be elsewhere.
"We need to reach Ostia, Serra. We will rest once nightfall comes."
This only made Serra pout even more. "But Erk! My feet hurt!"
"That's enough, Serra," growled out the mage. Why did he accept this escort job again?
Letting out a groan, Serra glared at Erk. "You are very mean, you know that? Most men would have been gentlemen and tend to my needs."
"Enough!" exclaimed Erk as he glared back at her. "I was hired to escort you back to Ostia, but I can't do that if we waste time. So again, we will rest at nightfall!"
The two continued to glare at each other. Seeing as how Erk wasn't budging on this, Serra had no choice but to relent.
"Fine! But if I keel over because of exhaustion, I'm going to haunt you!"
"Duly noted," replied Erk in a deadpan tone.
They continued on their way, reaching a forest. Unfortunately, when trying to make their way through the trees, they got lost.
"Why did this have to happen?!" cried out Serra, starting to tear up. "I don't want to die out here!"
"You're not going to die," replied Erk, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. "We'll find a way out of here. Just be patient."
Serra pouted once again as she followed Erk, hoping he knew what he was doing.
"Hey, Erk? Is it just me or do you hear something?"
When they stumbled upon a battle between bandits and a group led by a green-haired swordswoman, Erk cursed whatever deity was out there…
…Especially since Serra was dragging him into the fray to help defeat the bandits.
Curse that woman.
