We're almost at the end on day twenty-five.

A young pink-haired girl hummed to herself as she made the one thing only she could make. It wasn't much, but it helped pass the time in this world.

"How are things coming along?" asked an old man as he stepped into the room.

The girl turned to give him a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "It is going well, Grandfather. This batch should be done soon."

She turned back to her work as her grandfather let out a chuckle. She then felt a hand upon her head.

"What would I do without you? Hell, what would the fairies do without their Ms. Sweets?" replied Grandfather with a laugh.

"Ms. Sweets", as she was now known as, frowned at the title that had been bestowed on her. She let out a sigh as she continued her work. Sometimes she hated the fact that she was the only one who knew how to make sweets, but it was apparently the only thing that made the fairies happy and make them agree to help her.

She honestly had no hope of humanity ever coming back. She had a feeling the fairies had something to do with it, but she would never know. It might be possible that no one would.

"Things will get better," said Grandfather, catching her attention. "You just have to have a little faith."

She could only scoff at the notion. Despite her Grandfather being older and more experienced than her, she knew better.

Things were never going to get better.

Humanity Has Declined is a very weird series after researching it. Aside from most of the characters being unnamed (the main girl is either called "Watashi" or "Ms. Sweets"), it's very dark in its own way.
