Harry felt nervous as he walked into Oswald's nightclub, not even looking at them he walked past the security and straight to his boyfriend Oswald Cobblepot who was a gangster and the current owner of the nightclub that they were in.
Oswald was a short, thin, pale twenty-eight-year-old man, he had short, black hair, pale green eyes, and a slightly hooked sort of nose. Oswald would often walk with a bit of a limp in his steps and would usually, because of his work as a member of a gang in the city of Gotham wear a two-piece suit which would most days be in the colours of black and white.
Harry, the same age as his gangster boyfriend, was of average height and a bit taller than Oswald was. He had a lean build with some slight muscles and he had short, black hair that was untameably messy and a bit longer than Oswald's. Harry had green eyes, he wore glasses which were round and black and he had a unique looking scar on his forehead that was shaped like a bolt of lightning.
Harry had met Oswald at a coffee shop a couple of months ago, every morning Oswald would buy take away coffee. Back then Harry had no idea who Oswald was nor that he was a gangster and it had stayed that way for at least a couple of weeks.
Harry had genuinely liked Oswald, he thought him attractive and Oswald had been nice to him, (though Harry had been able to tell that it had been just an act at first) smiling at him during each visit to the coffee shop. Harry had smiled at Oswald, flirted with him, talked with him and he had ignored all the rude comments from other people about Oswald's appearance and the way he walked. Harry didn't care what other people thought, he didn't care that other people thought Oswald odd and dangerous.
Things had been awkward at first, Harry and Oswald had developed only a crush on each other but then soon enough the crush had developed into strong romantic feelings and now they were dating.
Now Harry knew that Oswald was a gangster who killed more than was necessarily, even for a man in his profession, but for some reason he felt safe when he was with Oswald. Oswald treated him like no one else had before, he was the only man to ever really accept him for the man he was. When Harry used to live in England everyone had just wanted him to be a hero, they wanted him to be their celebrity. Oswald didn't have such expectations of him, Oswald never forced him to be someone who he wasn't, he wanted Harry to simply be himself and that was something Harry had always wanted.
Harry knew that it wasn't such a good idea to get himself romantically involved with someone like Oswald but Harry didn't care. It was dangerous, Harry knew this but he just didn't care.
Harry had fallen in love with Oswald, though he had yet to tell him those special three words.
Once Harry approached his boyfriend Oswald smiled and stared at Harry before standing up and pulling Harry towards him for a kiss on the lips that was returned.
When the pair separated Harry spoke, "Oswald I want to tell you something important, if you're not busy tonight can we have dinner at my place?"
"Of course! What time?" Oswald asked.
"Around six, maybe?"
Oswald gave a nod.
Harry smiled and pulled the gangster in for another kiss before he soon left the club.
Later Harry bought a bottle of good wine, bought a roast and that night cooked up a dinner for their dinner date.
When Oswald was soon to arrive at Harry's home Harry was dressed in a pair of long black pants, a long-sleeved green button up shirt and black enclosed shoes.
There was the smell of cooked meat and roasted vegetables in the air and a bottle of wine on the table. Harry was just serving up the dinner onto two plates when he heard a knock upon the door.
Harry was nervous, very nervous. He had never said what he wanted to say to anyone before and no one had ever said it to him either.
He wasn't ready to confess to his boyfriend about magic and his past in England and about how much the wizarding world had hurt him, how the war had changed him but Harry felt ready for this. He felt ready to say the words 'I love you'
Harry wondered what Oswald would say in response to what he was going to say to the gangster, though Harry wasn't planning on saying it so he could have the words said back to him. He was simply wanting to say it just so Oswald would know.
Harry looked to the door, smiled nervously, went to the door and once he opened it saw Oswald standing there in one of his good suits and holding a bouquet of red roses in front of him.
"Harry, these are for you" said Oswald giving Harry the bouquet of flowers, with a smile on his face.
Harry smiled and accepted the roses. "Thank you, Oswald. They're beautiful" Harry said before giving Oswald a brief kiss on the lips.
Harry then invited Oswald into the dining room while he put the flowers into a vase of water, using magic to do so.
After the flowers were put away Harry joined Oswald at the table where dinner had been served and soon, they started to eat.
Harry felt awkward and nervous as they both ate and drank, hoping that Oswald was enjoying it.
Oswald talked a little during the meal and Harry mostly listened, when they were both finished eating and their plates were empty the gangster stared at Harry with an expectant gaze. Afterall Harry did say that what he had to say to Oswald was important and he had barely talked throughout the entire meal.
"So, Harry what important thing did you want to say to me?" asked Oswald.
Harry was silent for a few minutes, feeling nervous again. He took a breath as though to calm his nerves before speaking and then stared straight ahead at Oswald.
"I..I love you" Harry said, before blushing slightly.
Oswald seemed speechless for a moment before a happy smile appeared on his face, emotion was shining in the man's pale green eyes. "I love you too! I love you so much" he said.
Oswald then stood up from his chair and limped over to Harry, he helped Harry to his feet and pulled his boyfriend into a loving kiss that was eagerly returned , a kiss that was soon enough deepened and one that both men enjoyed immensely.
After the kiss ended the two men stared at each other and soon embraced each other in a hug, both men smiling happily at having both heard those special three words from the man who they loved.
