A broad stroke of ingenuity on day nineteen.
-:-
It was the night before Bracken set off from Broadleaf with Evan's party and right now the pink-haired minister of ingenuity was watching her close friend work in silence. She's known him long enough to know when something was bothering him and it was clear something was off.
"It's not your fault, Zip," stated Bracken, already knowing what was bothering the inventor.
She saw his shoulders tense before he let out a sigh of defeat. "Isn't it? I hurt so many people."
"Only because you were under Doloran's influence," replied Bracken. "Everyone knows that and they don't blame you."
"But they should!" exclaimed Zip, now turning to face the woman. "I'm the leader of Broadleaf, I'm supposed to protect the people who live here!"
She let out a huff. "No offense, Zip, but no one expects you of all people to protect them."
"…That's a low blow, Bracken," muttered out Zip, causing Bracken to roll her eyes.
"Well it's the truth. You're a weakling, Zip, always have been," she said with a teasing grin.
"I remind you that this "weakling" is the only one who can work on your leg properly."
Bracken pouted as Zip returned to working on her mechanical leg. Once he was done, he handed it back to her and she reattached it.
"That's better," said Bracken, moving her leg about.
Zip gave off a slight smile before he frowned. "Bracken, are you sure about what you're about to do?"
She turned to him with a raised eyebrow. "You mean going off with Evan? Yeah, I'm sure. Someone has to take down Doloran and I know Evan's the one to do it. I'll be there to help him along the way."
Zip could only let out a sigh. "There's no arguing on this, is there?"
"Nope! I'll be setting off in the morning!" replied Bracken with a wide grin.
Another sigh from Zip before he smiled at her. "Then I guess there's nothing left to say other than good luck, Bracken."
If possible, Bracken's grin became even wider.
"Thanks, Zip."

Are the Ni no Kuni games worth playing? Anyway, I need at least seven more pink-haired video game girls for this year's Month of Pink, so if you have any suggestions, PLEASE leave them in the comments.
