Do you believe in magic on day thirteen?

"Mars, you don't have to do this."

Fana let out some giggles as she watched her childhood friend dote on her. The pink-haired former mage of the Diamond Kingdom was happy that Mars had found the time to come visit her. She knew how hard he was working on making the Diamond Kingdom a better place.

"I don't get to see you often, Fana," replied Mars as he prepared a meal for her. "When the time is permitted, I take it."

She let out a hum at that. "How are things going in the Diamond Kingdom? Have you and Ladros made any progress?"

"Surprisingly, yes," he said, looking up to look at her with a slight smile. "We've been secretly freeing mages from the brainwashing and bringing them to our side. If we keep this up, we might be able to make the kingdom a better place."

"That's wonderful, Mars!" chirped Fana, happy that things were looking up.

"Ladros also wanted me to tell you that he says hello."

More giggles escaped from Fana. "Tell him that I said hello as well."

She watched as his smile stayed on his face for a few more seconds before turning into a frown.

"Fana, I promise that I will make things right, so you and I will never have to be apart again."

With a tender smile, she reached over and placed a hand over his, causing him to blush.

"Mars, I know you are doing everything possible to help our people. I wanted many years to be reunited with you. I can wait a bit longer for you again."

"Fana…"

She leaned in and placed a small kiss on his cheek, making his blush become even brighter. It also didn't help him when Fana laid her head on his shoulder.

Little did Fana know that this small moment of affection would motivate Mars to work even harder to free the Diamond Kingdom from their ways.

It's too bad we haven't seen more of Mars or Fana in Black Clover. With the way Mars had been set up, it felt like he'd be a major supporting character in the series, similar to Gaara from Naruto.
