Takes place just after #HappyHolograms

I know that Shelly's two friends are usually seen among the sixth graders, but for storyline purposes, they're going to be in her grade whenever I include them in any chapter.

The shit had hit the fan. The entire world knew that my stupid dad was Lorde now.

I could hear the whispers as I walked to my next class. Snippets of "Lorde" and "Marsh" assaulted my ears.

My stupid classmates were usually too chicken shit to talk about me when I was less than a thousand feet away, but something had changed this time. Maybe they could pick up on my lack of energy. I was too depressed to pummel anybody today.

I saw Kelly and Stacy by Kelly's locker, their heads bent together as they whispered to each other.

"You turds haven't texted me all weekend!" I greeted my friends as I approached.

Kelly and Stacy exchanged a strange look. "Oh. Um, hey Shelly," Stacy said, not looking me in the eye.

"This has to be the most embarrassing thing my dad has ever done," I ranted. "I can't believe that I fell for it!"

I was met with a weird silence. My friends refused to look me in the eye.

"I need to get to class," Kelly mumbled. She and Stacy rushed off, not giving me a second glance.

I'm not stupid. I knew what was going on. They blamed ME! Like it was my fucking responsibility to wrangle my dad every time he did something insane!

Fuck them! They had probably been looking for an excuse to ditch me anyways. Three's a crowd.

At least I still have Kevin, I thought to myself, ignoring that persistent nagging voice in my head that tried to convince me that he only hung around with me because our dads were childhood friends.
