Prompt: 100 words – emotionally themed drabble prompts

Prompt word: Graceful

This prompt has been in my inbox for a very long time and I couldn't think of anything to write until I rewatched "You Got F'd in the A" recently.

"I'm going to Stacy's!" Shelly called to her mother, as she sped down the stairs.

Sharon raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

"No? Anyway, bye."

Sharon blocked the front door. "We've been over this, Shelly. You can go out after you've cleaned your room."

"That's not fair! You let Stan do whatever he wants! It's obvious who the favorite is around here!"

"Stanley cleaned his room this morning," Sharon explained calmly, rolling her eyes at her daughter's melodrama. "He earned the privilege to see his little friends today. You can leave after you're done with your room."

"GOD!" Shelly spun around and stomped to her room.

When I turn eighteen, I'm so out of here! Shelly thought angrily to herself. She went to slam her door, before catching a glimpse of the soundsystem that Aunt Flo had gotten her right before she died.

A devilish smirk crossed Shelly's face. If she's going to inconvenience me, then I'll do the same!

She threw her door open as wide as possible and cranked her music as loud as it would go.

Shelly started gathering discarded clothes as the bass pumped throughout her room. Despite herself, she felt her feet start to move to the beat.

A discouraged Stan trudged up the stairs. It had taken him and the rest of his dance squad the better part of a day to try and convince Butters to join, to no avail.

Stan sighed heavily. As much as it pained him, it was time to face the music. He was going to have to forfeit to those OC kids. He was going to be the laughingstock of South Park.

Stan gloomily passed his sister's open bedroom, trying his best to tune out the blaring music. A sudden movement at the corner of his eyes made him stop in his tracks.

It was Shelly. She was dancing as she swept an armful of books up and started to arrange them on her shelves.

She was good!

Stan gaped as his sister continued to bop to the music. He had no idea that she was so light on her feet.

Should I? No, she would never agree. She'll kick my ass if I even ask!

Stan continued to watch as Shelly gracefully did some complicated-looking foot maneuver. Where did she learn this stuff?

Maybe I should cry. That always seems to work on her. Stan screwed up his face, trying his best to squeeze the tears out.

Just then, Shelly finally noticed her brother standing in her doorway. Her cheeks turned an interesting shade of pink.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE, TURD!" she bellowed.

Stan stammered out an apology and bolted to his room.

I guess I'll have to check that duck out after all, he thought dejectedly to himself.

Shelly has been seen dancing three times on the show. Considering that she's a minor character who is almost always angry, that's kind of significant.
