My Equestrian Archives-Breaking Dawn

Ch.5: An Afternoon's Entertainment

After the meeting, we decided to relax on the day. I had suggested using sealant to fix the statue, but Sunset disagreed.

"It can only be fixed with magic" Sunset said, as we stood outside the school, looking at the statue. "If it can anyway." As she said that, the statue cracked on the box on the right side. Sunset took a shaky breath.

"D-David...lets go relax. Go to the mall or something" she suggested.

I agreed. Whatever happened, would happen.

Twilight was chuckling. Sunset and I had left the giggling twosome at the apartment. Twilight was watching over them when she got a phone call.

"Hello?" she said upon answering. Her face of confusion turned into a smile as she turned to Pinkie Pie.

"Think you can watch over our friends? Sunset wants to go to the mall."

Pinkie nodded vigorously. "Okie dokie!" she said, complete with a salute.

Twilight chuckled. In some ways, this trip would turn out to be important.

Particularly important.

Around twenty minutes later, the three of us were in the Canterlot Mall. I was quite impressed. This mall had 215 stores, And a massive arcade. At breakfast that morning, Rainbow had managed to get out how good she was at the games there. My mind began to conjure up an image of her and pony Dash playing there when Sunset chuckled, dragging me over to a store. My eyes widened in horror as I saw what store it was.

A clothing store.

Seeing my reaction, Sunset grinned. "Its for you, David" she smiled. "On our way in, I saw a dress for sale, and I think I'd look great in it."

I smiled as she led me in, a older girl greeting us as we came in. "Welcome to Dress for Success. I'm the manager, Lotus Flower." She then took another look and was taken aback. "Is that you, Sunset Shimmer?"

Sunset smiled and nodded. "It is. This is my boyfriend, David"

"Nice to meet you" I greeted. Lotus smiled warmly, revealing that Sunset shopped there often.

"Speaking of which" Lotus said, dropping her voice to a whisper, "How was your trip to Equestria?"

Sunset revealed to her what had happened and why she was back.

Lotus smiled. "Well, I guess those things have a way of working out. Feel free to poke around."

"Okay David! You ready?"

I jumped up from the bench I had been sitting on, grinning like a fool. "Come on out Sunset!"

Slowly opening the door, Sunset did. I gasped, slack jawed.

She wore a sparking red and blue dress. Her eyes had a confidence to them, yet angelic at the same time. She had a wide smile on her face.

I meanwhile walked over. "Sunset, you look amazing. This is only a man's opinion, but you should buy that dress"

Sunset smiled. "I already plan to. Then me and Twilight gotta go do something really quick. Girl products."

I immediately understood.

As this occurred, Twilight found herself walking around. She did not like malls too much- the bookstore mainly. But she had to admit it was pretty.

She would stop at one point to rest. Of course, the mall was a walk, and she was on the third floor of it. She pulled out her mirror, intending to check up on her eye shadow.

However, she would be shocked by what stared back at her. The smiling face of the entity that had been inside her for 6 years.

Midnight Sparkle.

Twilight could only stare at her. Midnight simply waved. Cautiously, Twilight did too, curious about what Midnight wanted.

As she went to ask however, Midnight had disappeared, Twilight's face looking in the mirror now.

Not long after, Twilight met up with us. She saw the dress, which was now in a bag, and gave a thumbs up.

Bidding the girls well, my thoughts reigned heavily on me and Sunset's relationship.

To be truthful, we were in love. When I say in love, I mean it. I can not tell you how much I missed Sunset on the days where early shifts beckoned her, or she went to do something with one of the Mane 6.

Walking along the first floor of the mall, I came to a decision. A decision one should only make while in love if they are sure, it is truly what they want.

Stepping into a store a few stores away, I greeted the cashier, smiling as he inquired what I wanted.

"I'm here to buy an engagement ring"

A/N: Ha-ha! I hope I didn't make this chapter too mushy! But more importantly, I bet you all are wondering what that was about with Midnight Sparkle. You will have to read to find out. And while you're at it, please leave a review. See Y'all next time!
