Chapter 16

Crouching Yuki, Hidden Kai

With the Round 1 matches done, the Round 2 matches were up next. The first match of Round 2 was between Midoriya and Todoroki.

Everyone watched as both guys entered the arena.

"I think this will be an interesting match," Felicia told Arisa. "Midoriya could win because of how hard he trained with his Quirk, which you and I helped with. Todoroki could also win because of how well he's used the ice side of his Quirk. I suppose you want Todoroki to win because you're old friends, right?"

"Well, yes, but I hope neither of them gets hurt in the match," Arisa responded in concern.

"I see what you mean. Midoriya's Superpower Quirk gives him great, but painful strength and Todoroki is strong with his ice attacks. The match could go either way, and they could get hurt." Felicia explained.

"Exactly," Arisa agreed.

The match started with Todoroki shooting a wave of ice at Midoriya, who destroyed it with a simple and strong finger flick. Everyone felt the shockwave from the counterattack. Luckily, Todoroki summoned some ice behind him to prevent the shockwave from blowing him out of bounds. The two guys repeated that same process three more times, with Midoriya injuring one of his fingers each time.

Blimey! It looks like both of them are evenly matched, but Midoriya is really hurting himself to stop Todoroki's ice," Felicia said.

"Yes, and I feel bad for Midoriya," Arisa sadly stated. "But I think Shoto might win."

Todoroki switched things up by creating a board of ice to run on, which Midoriya destroyed with another finger flick. Todoroki jumped in time to attack Midoriya with an ice fist, but he dodged it. During that, Todoroki launched a wave of ice that trapped one of Midoriya's feet. Midoriya destroyed the ice with a punch this time, which sent Todoroki skidding back, but his ice stopped him from going out of bounds. Todoroki attacked again with a huge wave of ice, but Midoriya countered with a finger flick that sent his opponent skidding back again, but his ice stopped him again.

"I can't believe how much effort they're both putting into this fight," Arisa commented.

"Indeed. They're both giving it everything they've got," Felicia agreed.

Then both guys fought in close combat and with Todoroki making ice waves, but Midoriya dodged them because they were smaller than before. That process repeated a few times. Suddenly, Midoriya said something to Todoroki, probably encouragement, that got him to use his fire side.

"Blimey! Todoroki is using his fire?" Felicia asked Arisa.

"I don't believe it. Shoto said he wouldn't use it. What did Midoriya say to him?" Arisa was shocked by what she saw.

Then everyone heard Endeavor shouting from the stands to his son Todoroki to surpass him and realize his ambition for his son.

"I didn't know Endeavor was that intense on training Todoroki," Felicia was surprised.

"You have no idea," Arisa stated sadly, as she remembered hearing how hard the training was for Todoroki in the past.

Finally, both Midoriya and Todoroki unleashed their final attacks. Todoroki let loose a powerful ice and fire attack, and Midoriya attacked with a strong punch. Despite Cementoss summoning some cement walls to stop the attacks, they were in vain as they were destroyed by the intensity of the attacks. The result of that sent up a shockwave that everyone felt and created smoke that covered the arena. Once the smoke cleared, it was revealed that Todoroki was still in bounds and Midoriya was out of bounds, making Todoroki the winner.

"Blimey! Those last attacks by both of them were incredibly strong," Felicia commented.

"Yes, they were. I hope the both of them are all right," Arisa was concerned.

"Now that was an incredible and powerful fight. Just like the fight between the thunder god guy and his evil witch sister," Stan Lee said.

After that, Kai left his seat to go fight in the next match, which his classmates noticed.

"I hope Kai will be alright fighting against Drago," Arisa said.

"Don't worry. I'm sure he will be," Felicia assured her friend.

"I better keep an eye out on Kai, like I told Drago I would," Felicia thought.

Everyone saw as both Kai and Drago entered the arena.

"Here on this side, we have the promising lad..." Present Mic was interrupted when Speed Girl butted in.

"It's the one and only, Kai Uno!" Speed Girl announced loudly as the crowd cheered.

"Hey, Speed Girl! It's my job to announce the student's name at the start of the fight!" Present Mic scolded her.

"Just keep going. Who cares who does it first," Aizawa said.

"Ah-hem. As I was saying until I was rudely interrupted, on the other side, we have the third powerhouse of the tournament! Give it up for Yuki Drago!" Present Mic announced.

When the crowd heard that, they cheered even louder.

"Yuki Drago is also Kai Uno's classmate, so this is another classmate clash! Who will win? Who will survive? Let the fight begin!" Present Mic commented.

"Not to be a bit biased, but my brother was trained to get here this far, and he won't do down so easily, even by my other student, including Yuki himself," Speed Girl added.

"Let the match begin!" Midnight declared as the spectators cheered, and the bell rang like in a wrestling match.

Kai got into a fighting stance and ran towards Yuki Drago. Kai rammed into Drago as he held the tights around his waist and then pushed him. Drago did the same to him.

"And here we go! The match begins, and it seems like it started as sumo wrestling," Present Mic commented. "So, Speed Girl do you think your little brother will win?"

"I have confidence in my brother, but no matter what happens, I will be proud if either of my students in this match moves on to the semi-finals and finale," Speed Girl answered. "I just hope that nothing bad happens."

Present Mic and Aizawa, aka Eraser Head, looked puzzled because of Speed Girls' words, especially Aizawa, but they kept watching over the match.

Kai managed to push Drago almost to the edge of the arena. The crowd cheered louder, but there were some bits of criticism in the crowd because they wanted the match to be interesting. Some of the spectators began booing at Kai and Drago. The other students, including Class 1-L, looked over at the dissatisfied spectators booing at the two boys.

"What's wrong with these people? Kai and Yuki are doing their best!" Usagi argued.

"I don't like this too," Eli said. "It isn't nice."

"Indeed, but so far, neither of them is showing anything interesting," Felicia pointed out.

"True. It's just a simple game of who gets pushed out of the arena first," Maruto added.

"But still, that doesn't mean that these people should say nasty things at them," Arisa stated sadly. "Though it seems like Kai is going to win."

"That's what it looks like, but I don't think Yuki will go down so easily," Miru pointed out. "I think he's up to something."

Back at the arena, Kai managed to push Drago close to the boundary line. Suddenly, Kai slipped for some reason and was falling forward out of the arena, with Drago seemingly moving to the side. Then something unexpected happened: Drago used his tail to grab Kai's waist, stopping him from falling.

"What the?!" Present Mic gasped as the audience and Class 1-L had the same expression.

"Kai Uno was about to fall off from the platform, but Yuki Drago stopped him from falling by using his tail to grab him in time!" Present Mic exclaimed. "Why would he do that when he could just have allowed his opponent to do that is unknown!"

Drago stared at Kai intensely and didn't look pleased. Drago loudly stated that since the entrance exam, he was curious about Kai, his Quirk, and wanting to see his full power because of Kai's family. However, Drago didn't like that it looked like Kai was trying to lose on purpose.

Suddenly, Drago's wings spread out as he began flapping them. One of them had bandages because it was injured from the Obstacle Race, but it seemed like he could fly again as he jumped up and flew in the air.

"Ah-ah! What is Yuki Drago up to?" Present Mic asked.

The next thing Drago did was unpredictable. He breathed out fire from his mouth as it encircled around the platform. Even Midnight and Cementoss moved away from the fire as it surrounded both Drago and Kai. Drago landed back on the ground with the fire raging around him and Kai.

"Holy Cow! Yuki Drago turned the arena into a fiery ring! Just what is he doing?" Present Mic exclaimed.

"Seriously, what is up with Yuki? Is he mad?!" Eli sputtered.

"Blimey! Drago really wants Kai to fight with his Quirk," Felicia stated.

"I'm worried for them," Arisa said with concern.

"Now, there is no way for you to try to forfeit or escape! You will fight me with your Quirk, whether you like it or not!" Drago exclaimed as he roared.

Drago then flew towards Kai and punched him in the stomach. Kai has been pushed away from the force of the punch, but he stopped close to the fire because of friction.

Drago then roared loudly as it echoed throughout the entire stadium, which the people on the outside probably heard.

Suddenly, all the spectators were wooing with excitement and sweat. A lot of them stood up from their seats, cheering and roaring with excitement.

All of the UA students looked at the faces of the spectators as they couldn't believe it.

"Just what is going on?" Arisa asked.

"They're all... Cheering?" Usagi looked confused.

"They're excited about Kai and Yuki's match. For Yuki turning the arena into a fire ring match, everyone got excited, unlike a few seconds ago," Makoto explained.

"This is just purely fearful and amazing," Aku commented.

"Indeed," Felicia agreed.

"I hope Kai will be alright," Arisa thought.

"Drago, how far will you go to get Kai to use his Quirk?" Felicia thought.

Drago continued his attack as he punched, scratched, and even kicked Kai, who blocked those attacks with his arms. Drago then went back and shot some fireballs from a distance, and Kai ran from them.

Suddenly, Drago stretched his tail as it reached and grabbed one of Kai's feet. He used his tail to swirl Kai around like a towel, and then slam him to the ground three times.

Drago shouted at Kai that he didn't understand why Kai won't fight him or with his Quirk. Then Drago yelled at Kai to use his Quirk out of respect for the students who are in and out of the tournament.

Everyone watched with anticipation, wondering what will happen next.

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP!" Kai yelled out as green energy radiated from his body, raising his hair. The outburst of energy created a sonic boom that swept over the entire stadium, blowing away even the fire ring.

"Woah!" Eli shouted as he held on while a strong wind blew through Class 1-L and everyone in their seats.

"What is this? What is happening?" Present Mic asked hysterically.

"Kai!" Speed Girl exclaimed.

Kai roared at the top of his lungs as the upper half of his clothes burned into ashes, revealing something surprising. There was a mechanical-like suit attached to his body with a single green lens in the middle of the chest. His hair was now partially green and a bit spiky.

The green aura around Kai became stable as the winds became calmer. Everybody watched with their mouths wide open, except for Mr. Aizawa because of the bandages all over his face, but not his eyes.

"Kai... Just... Who or what are you?" Arisa asked, looking pretty scared.

"I think things are going to get intense," Felicia commented.

Kai jumped forward with his fist ready, glowing in green energy. Drago took the surprise sucker punch to the face. At the moment the punch made contact, a powerful sound was made, almost like an exploding bomb.

"Wow! What a punch!" Usagi exclaimed.

Kai punched at Drago more, each hit making a 'boom' sound. Drago stopped both of Kai's fists and struck back with a headbutt. Then he flapped his wings to create a wind to distract Kai, who slowly walked through the strong gust towards Drago. Once close enough, Kai grabbed Drago's tail, which made him roar in pain. Kai then dragged Drago and slammed him to the ground.

"Speed Girl, just what is up with your brother? What kind of Quirk is he using?" Present Mic asked.

"I... We need to stop this match immediately. If this goes on, I don't know if Kai can handle the pressure," Speed Girl said.

"What do you mean by that?" Aizawa asked in a serious tone. "Tell us what you know, Speed Girl."

Suddenly, Drago twirled his tail around Kai's right arm, slammed him to the ground, and threw him away. Kai grabbed onto the platform with his fingers, using the friction to stop himself from going off the edge.

Drago shot some fireballs at Kai, who ran towards him as he took the burn damage. Kai tackled him down, but Drago responded well by quickly flying off with Kai holding onto him.

Everyone watched as they soared higher and higher into the sky.

"They're going to fight in the sky?" Arisa asked.

"I think so," Felicia replied.

Drago bear-hugged Kai and twirled his tail around Kai's legs to prevent him from moving. Then Drago flew higher and higher until it was high enough, and he sky-dived down to the arena.

In a blur, it looked like Kai got his right arm out of the bear-hug as his right hand glowed in green energy, and punched Drago just as they both crashed to the arena. That created a big crater in the center, erupting debris of dust and particles upwards.

Everyone was flabbergasted with their mouths wide open and their eyes popped out. Once the clouds of dust were cleared, everyone watched as only one person was still standing... Kai Uno. Drago was lying on the ground unconscious.

"Ah! Yuki... Yuki Drago is knocked out! The winner of this match is Kai Uno!" Midnight declared.

The crowd cheered, but then Kai screamed painfully enough that it stopped the crowd's cheering. The green lens on his metal suit flashed red. Suddenly, his body began to glow green as steam started coming out of his body.

"What is going on? Why is Kai, like steaming out?" Eli asked.

"Kai! Kai is hurting!" Arisa shouted.

"Hey, why is that lens on his metal suit flashing red?" Maruto asked, pointing at it.

"Something tells me that's not a good thing," Felicia guessed.

The commotions and concerns increased among the spectators.

"Oh no!" Speed Girl exclaimed as she quickly ran towards the exit. "We got to get Kai somewhere safely."

"Wait, Speed Girl!" Aizawa shouted.

"Come back!" Present Mic grabbed her arms. "Just tell us what is going on? What is happening to your student/brother?"

"If we don't get him out of here, away from everyone, we'll all die!" Speed Girl stated.

"Say what?!" Both Present Mic and Aizawa gasped.

"Kai!" His classmates and friends shouted his name.

Suddenly, time stopped for some reason and then resumed. Then the spectators didn't notice much, except that Kai was no longer in the arena, but Drago was.

"Huh?" The students of Class 1-L looked confused, as did everyone in the stadium and at home.

"Umm, guys. Where is Kai?" Usagi asked.

"He was there on the arena, wasn't he?" Eli said, looking confused.

"I remember that Kai won the fight against Drago, but then, we saw that strange metallic armor on his body and he was screaming. I couldn't remember what happened after that," Arisa said.

"Me neither," Felicia said, feeling awkward. "Anyone else remember what just happened?"

"Not at all," Makoto replied.

"Me neither," Aku added.

"Yeah, neither do I," Maruto admitted.

But it wasn't just them. Everyone couldn't remember what happened to Kai after the fight. Students from other classes couldn't either, especially Class 1-A.

"Hey, what do you mean by...!" Aizawa was about to question Speed Girl, but it was too late as she already left the room.

"Huh? Hey, Aizawa. Is it just me or did we skip time?" Present Mic asked as he checked the clock and compared it with his watch.

"Who cares about that?! What about Kai?" Aizawa looked over and checked, but Kai was nowhere to be seen.

"Huh? What the? Where did Kai Uno go?" Present Mic stated loudly. "Well... If he isn't present, then that means Kai Uno forfeits the match due to not being present! Let's applaud both Kai Uno and Yuki Drago for the excellent match they displayed!"

"I have no idea what happened with that kid after the fight, but that was one real back and forth battle. Just like the metal suit man fighting the American soldier guy with the impenetrable shield," Stan Lee commented.

The crowd cheered, though the classes and some teachers were very confused as to what just happened. The students of Class 1-L were worried about Kai.
