Chapter 31

Earth – regular Timeline

At one side, you could call what was going on a simple couple of sparring matches.

If it was not for the fact that the fighters involved were four of the by far strongest beings in their Universe (and in the eleven others).

The fights were taking place in a desolate area on Earth that Goku and Vegeta had chosen earlier.

Goku´s sparring partner was nobody else than Broly.

The one visible difference to the regular SSj4 was that it´s normally black hair was glowing in a light green color instead. Through the God Ki however it was many times stronger.

It was now the strongest Form both Son Goku and Vegeta possessed, rivalling Goku´s Blue Kaioken-20 (which was now based on a Ascended SSB Form, which itself was 20 times stronger than the regular SSB)

Despite that Broly – in his green haired Super Saiyan Berserk Form – as incredible as it sounded, was actually holding himself.

Standing at the sidelines, in a `save´ distance and watching in silent astonishment, were Broly´s two friends Cheelai and Lemo who had decided to come with him here - after being assured again and again that Freeza was actually dead and the Freeza Force disbanded.

Even knowing Broly for three years now, they could barely believe that someone could be this strong.

"You have really gotten a lot stronger," Goku said to him.

"Not nearly as much as you," Broly replied.

Actually, the Blue Kaioken 20 was still greater in raw power, not by much but a bit. But that was countered by the drain on the energy and strain on the body that it caused.

In depended on the situation which form was preferable. With other words, if you needed to fight for a long time or if you intended to bring down your opponent quickly.

And so this was the point where Goku changed tactics.

He switched into Blue Kaioken Times 20 and grabbed both of Broly´s arms with his own.

Now he was actually overpowering him with pure strength.

Until their match suddenly ended.

"S-stop!" Broly called out.

At the same time just a short distance away, Vegeta was sparring with Android Eighteen.

Just like Goku, he was in a God Ki powered Super Saiyan Four form.

Despite that – since Eighteen had kept around 70% of the power of her Super Eighteen form from three years earlier and had kept training these years, this was actually an even match. Even with both of them at their full strength.

In fact Eighteen was now even stronger than her Super Eighteen self had been three years ago.

But it was not just power she had gained, but also skills and special abilities. Just like Seventeen had.

Through her and Seventeen´s ability to learn new techniques very quickly (which was even enhanced in their Super Android forms) Eighteen was now able to use Forced Spirit Ficcion after Vegeta used it a few times against her.

At least technically. But since she did not possess natural ki on her own, she had a hard time actually affecting others with it. So the technique was barely useful to her.

But the technique they both were currently training was another one.

This match to them was not just about strength. Even if they had of course already tested it out and found that they were quit equal in that regard.

Both of them were moving their bodies without any concious thought. Or at least they did it as well as they could.

Vegeta had originally decided to foresake Ultra Instinct and find another way. But with the threat of Demigra and his army hanging over all their heads, it was reason enough to overthink things. So he was working on his own variant fort he last years.

Eighteen had seen Ultra Instinct several times – both in normal and Super 18 form. But in opposite to her brother, it had never been used directly against her while she was Super 18. So she had not been able to `learn´ it while she was in that form.

Not that Ultra Instinct was a simple technique that could just be learned by watching. It was more like a special state of mind that had to be aquired. Even if you understood the ground principles, you could not just `do´ it.

But she had been training for it with Seventeen and a few times with Goku. And now she had started to understand. Even if she had not really mastered it yet.

Suddenly they saw that Broly had broken off his match with Goku. So they decided to put a hold to their own as well.

"What is going on Broly?" Goku asked him. They had both turned back into Base Form. "I am sure you can go even higher than that. I still sense untapped energy inside you."

They saw that Broly had a frightened look on his face.

"Yes – but then I will loose my mind," he stated. "You remember what happened the first time we fought."

Cheelai came running to Broly and wrapped her arms around him.

"Are you okay?" she asked him.

"Yes," he said. "Don´t worry."

She smiled and gave him a short kiss.

"And you," she turned to Goku, "you should really be more carefuly. You know what can happen to Broly if he looses control."

"I am sorry. But I really thought he had overcome that by now. We have been working on his self-control for years after all."

Broly send a serious look to him.

"I will be honest with you Goku. I don´t think that will ever be the case," he said. "There had always been a certain border where, if I reach it, I loose all sense. We just managed to push this border a bit higher. But… – I don´t want to get any stronger than this."

"A saiyan who don´t want to get stronger?" Vegeta commented. "Now I have seen everything."

"You don´t have a power that can cause you to go berserk any moment," Broly retorted. "Every time I use it, I am afraid that I will go one step too far and kill everyone around me."

"I understand that," Eighteen said. "I remember how it was not to be in control of myself. I also never want this to happen again."

"What you two were just training," he looked at Eighteen and Vegeta, "that is something I will never be able to do."

"Are you sure about that?" Goku asked him.

"You told him that this technique is based on the idea of completely letting go and let your body move on itself," Broly replied. "I have a power that forces me to have absolute self control every single moment I use it. You can guess how this will end," Broly stated.

"You all will be stronger than me," he said to them. "And I am not really sad about it. I will help you in the coming war you told us about. But then… I will stop."

"Well okay," Goku replied.

They all could easily destroy this planet with the tip of their fingers a hundred times over. So they were always extremel careful during fights anyway.

The four of them and also Seventeen had by now surpassed even the Gods of Destruction and were rivalling the Angels.

And they knew that Gohan and Piccolo had continued their training and were quickly catching up to them.

But with Demigra and his army, even that might not be enough.

In this moment Whis appeared before them.

"Goku, Vegeta, Eighteen – I have bad news for you," he said. "I just got a message from Heles of Universe 2. It seems your children and the other fighters are missing."

"What?" Eighteen called out. "What do you mean missing?"

"And why Universe 2?" Vegeta wanted to know. "Weren´t they supposed to be in Universe 6?"

"As it looks Heles had called for help with a certain mission to Universe 6. And they had agreed to accompany the Universe 6 Warriors to it. On this mission however, they met Towa and another Demon."

"Towa?" Goku, Eighteen and Vegeta called out.

"Bring us to Universe 2," Goku said.

Future Timeline – Capsule Corp

The entire group had now accompanied the two versions of Future Trunks and Gohan to their timeline´s version of the Capsule Corp Building.

Here they were greeted by Future Bulma and one version of Mai – who looked practically identical to the Mai they knew from their timeline and younger than the Future Mai they had met before.

Now they all were sitting together on the couches in the living room and talking about their situation.

"Well – that is quite a story you have gone through," Future Bulma commented.

"It is not as if we all hadn´t seen a lot of strange things ourselves," The older Future Trunks stated. "My own and Mai´s presence under them."

"You can say that," the younger Future Trunks replied.

He still did not know how to feel about having another older version of himself being around. While he was very grateful for freeing them all from Android 17 and 18, it often just seemed bizarre.

And now there were even three of them here.

They all remembered how Elder Future Trunks had called his version of Mai on the phone a few minutes earlier to tell her what had happened, while the Mai who originally was from this timeline was sitting right next to him.

Present Trunks on his part only now realized what a mess it could be to be send to a world where already another version of you lived.

Maybe it would have been better if Whis had send them to the timeline Cell had come from instead. On the other side, he was not sure if the Angel even knew anything about Cell´s original timeline in the first place.

At least, as they were told, the older Future Trunks and Mai did not actually live in Capsule Corp, but had a house on their own somewhere else.

"I realize how weird this must be to you all," Present Trunks said. "Believe me – we certainly have no intention to stay here. We just want back home as quickly as possible. Especially since Goten, Marron and the others are not even here."

"But by what you said, you don´t even know how to get home and it looks quite like this Towa has tricked you," Future Bulma stated.

"Yes," Present Trunks admitted.

"I tried to warn you," Twenty One commented. "You were quite foolish to trust Towa´s words like that."

Trunks, Caulifla, Kale and Brianne all frowned. But they knew she was right.

Being an Android, the natives of this timeline were quite wary of Twenty One. But by what they have seen so far, she seemed quite peaceful – even if more than a bit eccentric.

They also remembered the stories Older Future Trunks had told them about the Androids in the past being different and about Android 16.

"We just wanted Cabba back," Caulifla said. "But I guess you are right Twenty One. We will be more careful in the future."

"So how do you intent to go back?" Future Gohan asked.

"If you want to use the time-machine, I am sorry," Older Future Trunks said. "We destroyed it after Lord Beerus warning the last time. And mother had stopped building the one she was working on."

"As you know our families have a quite good relationship with the Gods. We are confident that they will find us here and bring us back. And Goten, Marron and Cabba as well."

"Lady Heles and Lord Pell will be looking for us for sure," Brianne said.

"You are lucky then," Caulifla commented. "Champa will probably not give a damn and dumb the responsibility off on someone else. Right Kale?"

"Yes."

"The others will still find us," Brianne replied.

"Then why did you all jump through a portal you knew nothing about, created by an enemy?" younger Future Trunks asked loudly.

"I – I guess that was simply an impulsive decision," Present Trunks said weakly.

"You can say that," Future Bulma commented.

"As if you had never made impulsive or careless decisions Bulma," Twenty One remarked.

"Let us talk about something else," she replied. "Despite that – I am happy that we got to meet you all."

"So all this damage to your planet was actually done by Seventeen and Eighteen?" Caulifla asked.

"Yes," Future Gohan answered with a dark expression.

"It is just – it is hard to imagine the Seventeen and Eighteen we know doing something like that," Kale stated.

"Seventeen has saved our universe," Brianne said.

"And ours too," Caulifla added.

"And he and Eighteen had helped us many time," Brianne pointed out.

"The ones in our world were quite different," Future Gohan said. "Here they were monsters who kept killing people for fun."

"I see," Brianne replied.

"About this Demigra you mentioned, is he really that dangerous?" Gohan asked.

"You can say that," Present Trunks replied. "The first time we heard of him, was on a planet that had at that time been attacked by the Freeza Force. Two of his Servants appeared and wiped out both the Freeza Force and the Planet."

"Freeza?" Older Future Trunks asked.

"Goku, Father and the others were forced to bring him back to life because they needed his help in the Tournament of Power," Present Trunks explained.

"But - Freeza? Really?" Future Gohan said.

"It was better than having our entire universe erased."

They understood, but still didn´t like it. The younger Future Trunks and Mai had never actually met Freeza, but heard about him. The closest thing in their minds would be to have to bring the Androids back.

"A short time later Father and Goku fought him in Universe 6," Trunks continued. "They needed all their power to destroy a mere apparation of him. He was not even physically there, but a clone made of energy. And they were much stronger then than the last time they met you," he said to Future Trunks.

"I understand," the older Future Trunks stated with a stern expression.

"Tell us everything."

Second Future Timeline

The two Androids had not noticed them so far.

Marron, Goten and Cabba were lucky in this part at least.

What they didn´t realize yet, was that they had less luck with a member of their own group.

Frost had just landed behind them.

"Interesting," he said. "So we are truly in another timeline of your universe? Lord Beerus and Son Goku and Vegeta and the other fighters – are they here as well?" he asked.

"No – they died a long time ago," Goten replied."Most of them were killed by this world´s versions of Seventeen and Eighteen who are over there."

He pointed in the direction of the devastated town.

"They are dead – really?"

"And Lord Beerus has never been on Earth. It is possible that he had never woken up," Marron explained.

"I see," Frost replied.

Marron didn´t like the smile that formed on his face.

"Yes – and we have to be careful," she said. "Lord Beerus had warned us not to accidentally create other timelines."

"And why would I worry about that?" Frost stated. "Don you see? Champa, Beerus, Vados – here I am finally free of their control and observation. And with Goku, Vegeta and all these other fighters dead, there is not really anybody left to oppose me.

All I need to do is leave this planet and leave this two Androids behind here and the way is free.

I can recreate my Empire and rule this galaxy – maybe this entire universe. And this time I don´t even need to hide my true intentions. I can do it openly."

"Do you truly think I will let this happen?" Cabba said.

"Tell me Cabba – are you feeling well?" Frost replied. "You have just gone through a hard fight. Do you think you can still turn into Super Saiyan Blue? Can you even still fight very well at all?"

Cabba didn´t reply.

"As I thought," Frost said.

"Cabba is not the only one here," Goten stated.

"Goku´s second son, right? Forget it. You are not at full strength either. And even if you were – I have seen what you can do – you are barely a match for me when you are actually fit."

"We will see about that." Goten closed his eyes for a moment. The aura around him started to change.

In the next moment Frost had Goten´s fist burried in his gut and doubled over in terrible pain.

"I have finally done it," Goten said.

They saw that he had transformed into a Super Saiyan Blue.

"D-damn it," Frost cursed.

"Are you willing to stop it now?" Goten asked him.

"Yes – okay. I will cooperate, I swear it. Just give me a moment to recover," Frost said. "You have quite a punch in this form."

"Look out! He is trying something," Cabba called out.

Before Goten had noticed it, Frost had used a very small amount of ki to cause a small explosion. Just enough to whirl up smoke and dust and cover his getaway. It was similar like the way he had escaped Eighteen during the Tournament of Power.

As the dust had cleared after a moment, he was of course not longer at the same place.

Instead they found him in some distance up in the sky. As they sensed what he was doing however, they were instantly alarmed.

He was charging up a ki blast, a stronger one this time… and aiming it down at the planet.

"Goten," Marron shouted.

But he already reacted. He moved right below Frost in the speed of a SSB, before he shot and swatted his attack away.

And then he fired a blast on his own upwards, that hit Frost and atomized the Freeza lookalike with one last shout of surprise.

Frost was gone and they had saved this timeline´s Earth.

"Good job Goten," Marron said to him.

He just smiled at her in return.

"To think that I used to look up to that guy," Cabba commented.

"We should better get away from here," Marron stated. "There is a good chance that someone has noticed this."

"Oh yes – that could easily happen." A voice was coming from behind them.

It were Android 17 and 18.

Just what they had wanted to avoid.

"Now – who are you? By what we know, there shouldn´t be any people with super powers left on this planet, except for this Trunks guy," Android 17 asked them.

"Don´t tell me he had been secretly training you all? You can tell him he is only wasting his time. Nobody will defeat us."

"Hmm – don´t you think this girl is quite looking like me?" Android 18 stated. "And this guy a lot like Son Goku."

"Yes – strange. Who are you supposed to be – clones?" 17 commented.

"And who was this guy they had just disintigrated? He looked like some kind of actual alien," Android 18 wanted to know."

"Does it matter Eighteen? He is already dead anyway. But I guess this is a good thing, since he was aiming at the planet. Even we can not survive if it is destroyed. So I guess as a thanks we can only kill one of them and let the others go this time."

"Yes. But I want to spare the one who looks like me." Android 18 pointed at Marron.

"Hey – maybe we can keep her around for a bit. We can go shopping together. Wouldn´t that be fun? Can you imagine how this stupid humans will react when they see us together? Let us decide which of the other ones to kill by…"

Goten had now enough of hearing them talk like this. He suddenly appeared right behind the two Androids and knocked them both out with only a light chop on their necks.

"So – with some luck they will not even realize what had happened when they wake up," he said.

"Good." Marron was starring down at the two unconscious Androids.

"As arrogant as they are, they will probably convince themselves that they just both passed out for some strange reason or the other.

"Are you alright Marron?" Goten asked as he saw how Marron was looking at the Androids.

"It´s alright. This two are not really my family anyway."

"No – they are not," Cabba said.

He thought about how they had been shooting these people and then casually talked about killing them like it was nothing.

„We should now get away from here."

"Too late," Goten stated.

Someone else was coming.

"Trunks," Marron said. That meant this timeline´s Future Trunks. "He must have sensed Frost´s attack earlier. He is clearly coming here."

Since Goten in SSB had been using God Ki, other fighters would not be able to sense him, unless they were especially trained for it. But the same didn´t go for Frost.

And even if he had not been close to full power, they energy he had shown easily rivalled the strongest beings on this planet.

"The we should now get away from here," Goten told them.

"No – we can not," Marron said.

She pointed at the unconscious Androids.

"If he finds them, he will clearly kill them while they are out. And then this timeline is screwed up for sure."

"That might already be the case anyway," Cabba suggested.

"Still – we can not risk creating another timeline if it can be anyway avoided," she replied.

"But what can we even do?" Goten said.

"If we meet him and tell him we are time-travellers, it will change this timeline for sure," Cabba stated.

They were just standing there for a few seconds.

Trunks was coming closer. He was clearly searching for this place.

"I – I think I have an idea," Marron finally said.

"Yes?" Goten and Cabba asked.

"No – I guess it is a stupid idea anyway."

"Just tell us," Goten said.

"You will not like it."

"That doesn´t matter," Cabba replied.

"It – it might also change how things play out. But not nearly as much as Trunks killing 17 and 18 now or finding out who we are," Marron admitted.

"Goten you have to stay back."

"What – why?"

"You are wearing a similar combat gi like Goku and you look too much like him anyway. If he sees you it will not work."

"And me." Marron took off her Capsule Corp jacket and threw it to the ground.

Then she took a capsule out of her pocket where she had stored several outfits in.

"Would you turn around for a moment?" she said. "Or do you like to see me naked?"

She said this in first line in Goten´s direction. He and Cabba both blushed and turned around.

After a few moments Marron was now wearing black combat boots and a similar blue outfit like Cabba or Vegeta were usually wearing, minus the armor.

"Not it can work. Good that Bulma gave me this," she said.

„"What exactly are you planning?" Cabba asked.

In return she gave him a smile that could have come from her mother.

A minute later this world´s Future Trunks was now only a few kilometers away.

He was sure that this was the area where he had sensed a ki energy earlier, a incredible high one.

But the only superpowered beings left on this planet should be himself and the Androids. And they didn´t have ki.

So who was this?

Finally in some distance he saw two figures floating high above the ground close to the nearest town.

A small sized young man with short black hair and a blond girl, who were both wearing blue combat clothes.

`Android 18´ - he thought for a moment as he saw the girl closer.

But it wasn´t her. Not only could he sense her energy, while there were many similarities, she was clearly someone else.

"My name is Trunks," he introduced himself. "I am a fighter who is protecting this planet. Who are you?"

The young man looked at him.

"I am Cabba – I am a Saiyan, here to conquer this world," he declared. "This is my adjutant… Caulifla."

Marron gave him a side-glance at the name he just gave her.

"If you know what is good for you Trunks then don´t stand in our way."

Here is the newest chapter.

As a side-remark: Frost was supposedly far stronger than Piccolo after merging with Kami and several years of training and could keep up with at least Base Goku and Vegeta after God Ki power up. Back when he was first introduced and weaker than now.

So regarding the statement that he was not at full power: Even a fraction of his strength would easily rival or surpass anything in the Mirai Timeline, where nobody really surpassed Ascended SSJ before Super.
