(Gringotts: Private Room – July 1st, 1996)

Henry Potter was sitting in an empty room in Gringotts, his godfather Sirius had recently died when they were ambushed after responding to a death eater attack at Diagon Alley. Henry was visiting the alley when the death eaters had attacked and Sirius had come to save him, end up getting hit with a killing curse curtesy of Bellatrix Lestrange while Dumbledore had dueled Voldemort. Sirius had left him a letter for him to read in private. With tears in his eyes, he decided to let the letter play itself.

"If you are reading this, Henry. Then I have passed on the next great adventure as Dumbledore likes to say. I hope I either died of old age or took some of those death eaters with me. There are a lot of things I wanted to tell you, especially after you caught Pettigrew and got me free. I know that you will hate me after I tell you this. I wish I could take this secret to my grave, but the sad truth is I cannot. I remember the first Christmas you visited me, when I asked what you wanted most … was more family. I cannot bring Lily and James back, as much as I wanted to. I am going to stop beating around the bush here, you were adopted by Lily and James. You were not born a potter, they had blood adopted you and did not know where I got you from. They thought that you were a baby of a friend of mines who wife died and didn't want. That is far from the truth … the truth is I stole you from your birth parents. I was attempting to save you; your birth father was a death eater and you no doubt would have grown up like him if I had left you there. I might as well rip off the band-aid now … your birth parents are Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. I know you must hate me for this, but I did it to save you. I hope one day you will understand where I am coming from" Stated Sirius as Henry balled up the letter and threw it across the room.

"Why? Why can't one thing go right" Screamed Henry

"Why is the Malfoy of all people?" Screamed Henry

(Longbottom Manor – a few days later)

"Is everything okay, Henry?" asked Neville concerned

"No" admitted Henry as he sat on the grass near Longbottom Manor

"You looked pretty angry after that private letter, and even Ron noticed" admitted Neville

"Promise me that you will keep it a secret and will not tell anyone" Stated Henry

"I promise" admitted Neville

"Apparently the private letter was a confession, Sirius said that I wasn't born a Potter and that he had stolen me from my real parents. Mum and Dad didn't know, he said he lied to them." Explained Henry

"Whoa" Stated Neville surprised

"Yeah, said he did it to protect me" admitted Henry scoffing

"Did he say who your parents were" asked Neville

"Yeah, he did. We had a few run ins with my birth father and brother" Sneered Henry

"Who?" asked Neville confused

"Lucius Malfoy" Stated Henry

"I don't know what to say" admitted Neville shocked

"Yeah, I don't know how I can be related to any of them" Stated Henry

"Are … Are you going to tell anyone?" asked Neville hesitantly

"Not right now, I don't want the backlash of it. Plus, my birth father could file for custody which would give me to Voldemort" Replied Henry

"I think that maybe you should tell Hermione, you know if you are trying to make thing work. I know she wouldn't hold it against you" Suggested Neville

"I just might" Admitted Henry

"You know, Aurelius might not be that bad" admitted Neville

"Are you talking about the person who insults Hermione any chance he can get? And Attacks Gryffindor and Snape lets him get away with it?" asked Henry as if Neville was crazy

"He wasn't always like that." Defended Neville

"Yeah right" Argued Henry

"He isn't all evil, if you know where to look" admitted Neville

"And where is that?" asked Henry

"He does defend his friends, and those close to him. Rumors says that he fancies Astoria Greengrass, I think he does tone it down when Astoria Greengrass is nearby, target her and you have more than Daphne to worry about" Stated Neville

"Just think that could have been you" Argued Neville after a moment of silence

"Yeah, it could have been couldn't it." Stated Henry sighing
